Hey guys I'm back, Sorry for the long wait but It's been a rough past couple of months, but I'm glad to be able to keep writing, I hope you guys enjoy this chapter and I'll be sure to get the next one out when I can, stay safe everyone and enjoy!
(Aria)
"My king". She bowed to Hayden, carelessly showing her unpleasant attitude towards having to for him.
He was sitting up on his bed, still bed ridden from his extensive grueling wounds caused by Blair months earlier. He gestured for the glasses girl to sit by his side, now staring her down with a cold leer.
" I see that you're starting to slowly build an allegiance to go against me." he slowly gestured his hand upwards with a quick flick, five silver spoons appeared before him, now shifting over onto Aria's wrists where they transformed into cuffs.
"W-what?" she pulled away frantically only for him to grab onto the chain attached to her and brutally pulled her in, their faces now inches away from one another.
"You know exactly what I'm talking about! I've given you what you've always wanted so don't forget you still belong to me so long as your debt still exists!"
She shrieked when he growled in her face, frightening the young girl who was trembling, she had forgotten just how frightening the king can be.
"I-i don't know what you're talking about, let me go!"
His lips curved deviously into a malicious grin, "Oh you don't ?, Well maybe this will help". He pointed to his mirror, showing an image of Chaos and her a while back when they were talking to Michael and Alain.
She held in a gasp, but her expression showed as if she had seen a ghost, "N-no…."
"You've forgotten, I can see everything you do so long as you're my pet." he began to unwrap the head bandages on him, slowly unveiling the shattered gem on his forehead, the permanent injury left on him also by the former champion.
It began blinking but then faded, revealing his powers which were still too weak, "Blair ruined me, but believe me when I say this isn't the end, she's in a deep coma, and now I have no need for my former target."
She took a few steps back, "What are you saying?"
He chuckled, his laughter causing utter cringe throughout her body, "I'm saying you're free…..once you kill Blair."
Her eyes widened in horror, "N-no…..I-i won't do it.." she kept stepping further away from him, only to stop when the chain no longer allowed her to move any further.
"You'll do it, because if you don't, Lacy will kill Chaos, and right now she's hiding in the shadows at his tournament, she's ready for my call to strike, take your pick Aria, because we both know one of them can't live."
(Back in the stadium)
"Fools….." the hollow laugh echoed throughout the whole stadium, startling both Aedana and Kei who looked at one another in disappointment.
"How? That move should have definitely ended it!" growled Kei.
"I don't know, but we can't give up!" responded Aedan, readying his stance as he was prepared to fight some more.
The cloud of smoke slowly vanished, revealing the dark monster which continued laughing as it creeped closer to both males.
"Did you really think you could beat me-" it had stopped midway, now dropping on one knee as it began growling loudly and disturbingly.
"W-what's happening?" asked Scarlett, disgusted by the sight of the monster who was bubbling up.
"AGGGH!" it's body was reacting weirdly, blowing up enormously until it opened its mouth, releasing a thick black smog which covered it whole.
"I knew we couldn't have failed, not together." smirked Aedan as he continued watching the monster succumb to it's injuries..
"GAH!" two voices screamed out from within the black fog, unveiling that both Xentus and Chaos had finally split, both boys now kneeling weakly on the floor, panting heavily as they had been drained almost entirely of their strength.
Xentus looked up, nodding towards Aedan and Kei, "Thank you…"
Kei grinned, cracking his knuckles in enjoyment, "Don't mention, especially since now I gotta kick your ass".
Chaos' tiny chuckle had grabbed there attention, "I didn't need you or a stupid monster to help me out, I'm still going to win this thing!"
He ran up, tackling Kei over as he tried swinging his shadow claw down on him, however his attack was avoided when Kei kicked him in the stomach, throwing him over as he shot an ice spear in his direction.
Aedan fired his cannons over to Xentus who swallowed the attack through a dark portal, "You might as well give up using water against me, it's completely useless."
"You're right…." he shot a powerful beam of fire out from one of his cannons over instead, startling Xentus and even the crowd who was now fascinated by his trick.
He aimed both cannons at him, "...but put fire and water together, and even you can't withstand its power."
She knelt down, holding her scythe by her side as she focused solely on Chaos, she nodded, now pointing her weapon down towards him with a blood lusting smile, "Looks like your times up".
"STOP!" she was startled by the scream, looking up to see Aria coming down towards her.
"I won't let you hurt him!" she tackled Lacy down, grabbing a hold of her opponent's scythe which she also had a grip on, both girls refusing to let go.
Chaos was thrown back on the ground, staring up with a dizzy like stare, it wasn't until he caught a glimpse of two figures up on the edge of the open ceiling, Aria and Lacy, that his attention became full focus again.
"No, Aria". he whispered, shaking his head in disbelief.
He got up, hurrying out only to be chained down by ice chains courtesy of Kei, "Stop! Let me go you idiot!" he was battling for an escape only for Kei to laugh in response.
"Yeah right! I'm gonna finish you off once and for all!" he ran towards an impaired Chaos, holding his fist up which crystallized.
"You idiot! You're dead! You should have just done what you were told!" Lacy pushed forward, both girls now tripping back as they fell off the building.
"ARIA!" he was fighting to escape Kei's chains, time was ticking, seconds were passing by and every second she spent fighting Lillian would be a second closer to her demise.
"ENOUGH!" he bellowed out, pulling forward and breaking free from the chains, shocking everyone in the stadium including his opponents who shielded themselves from the massive wave of dark energy he unleashed upon breaking free.
"Agh!" Aedan was sent crashing against the wall while Kei was sent flying off uncontrollably. The only one who withstood the attack was Xentus, who instead inhaled the dark energy through his nostrils, now having streaks of darkness and shadows surrounding him like smoke.
He said nothing but instead took off, running out of the arena which left everyone stunned, "Wait…...did he just…." Rouge pointed to the exit only to then scratch her head still in disbelief.
"I don't know what's going on! But it seems like Chaos has just taken himself out of the competition, he is Eliminated!" the crowd had begun reacting with mixed responses, half of them were cheers while the others were loud cries and booing.
"WHY?! IT WAS GETTING SO GOOD!" Cried out Basher in discontent.
"He left the competition, he's no longer a concern". Lucille said looking away.
"Looks like it's just the three of us". Aedan responded, aiming each of his cannons towards both Kei and Xentus.
"I've made it this far, and I'll make it to the very end". Said Kei holding ice blades out towards his competitors.
"Enough talking, more battling!" shouted Xentus opening his mouth wide as he released a large beam of dark energy out towards his rivals.
"Ha!" Kei moved first, gliding across the floor swiftly as he jumped up, his body rotated counterclockwise as he sliced cleanly through Xentus's attack with one blade and shot the other directly towards him.
"Ngh!" he threw himself to the side, barely managing to avoid the assault of Kei's weapon which had only sliced through his shoulder.
He looked down at his fresh wound, holding it tightly as blood began seeping out, his eyes narrowed onto the ice user who retaliated with a fighting stance.
Aedan took off the other direction, jumping and leaping off the nearest rock as he flipped backwards, firing off both his cannons which nearly struck both males.
"Agh!" Kei had formed an ice barrier which protected him from the fire blast while Xentus swallowed up the water attack through his portal.
He sighed, now stabbing his cannons into the ground as he took in a deep breath, he held his hands out, revealing the fire engulfing his left arm and the water on his right.
Both elements had extended out from his arms, creating giant whips which he used to attack the others, his swift and calculated movements leaving the audience speechless.
"Whoa!" Kei rolled across the floor and took to the air as Aedan brought down his fire whip, breaking down the ground and causing it to collapse further.
Xentus sunk into the walls as a shadow, swiftly dodging Aedan's attacks as he clashed his whips against the concrete. Kei watched from above, now coating his wings with crystallized ice as armor for protection.
Ina watched from the balcony above along with Chase, "Both their moves are impressive, handling two types of elements at once is something not many can sustain let alone achieve".
"You're right, Aedan's first form is water based only and his second is fire, yet he's bringing the elements of both into one without switching forms, to think Aedan has such skill. And Kei, to clash his elements of dragon and Ice, the deadly opposites as a method of protection, he's come a long way from training, they both have ". Said Chase wide eyed.
Kei circled the sky, carefully watching Aedan as Xentus laid low within the walls, Aedan was the only one out in the open, carefully taking each step as he looked at all his surroundings, waiting for one of his opponents to strike.
*Kei and Xentus want this just as much as I do…..but no matter what, I will be the new champion, for Blair, I'm going to bring her back, so wait for me Blair*
He sensed something heading his way, his head snapped to the side where he caught a quick glimpse of a shower of icicles heading down towards him, "ARGH!" he jumped, now doing a barrel roll as he brought down his whips, slicing and incinerating Kei's attack mid air.
His hands had formed into fists, he aimed one towards the air and one out towards the field, blasting an endless powerful beam of fire and water from his fists, the sheer raw power from his attacks left Kei struggling to fly without getting struck and Xentus frantic as he slithered across the field avoiding the deadly water.
"Crap!" Kei's armor was blasted off from his wings, leaving the young fighter to fly even higher into the sky where he avoided the pillars of fire Aedan spewed out from below the ground for countermeasure.
Xentus shot out from the wall, swooping past Aedan who he scratched with his claw, disabling both his element attacks as the crowd watched Xentus take on a new form, Aedan's form.
"W-what…..what did you do?" asked Aedan with a groan, his eyes widened when he noticed he had been staring at an exact replica of himself.
"I didn't want to have to resort to this, I usually try to fight with my true form, but this is the champion's match, so I have to do whatever it takes right? So what does it look like, I'm stealing your form and your abilities, all I needed was a little drop of your blood, so thanks for that".
He referred to the cut he left on Aedan's stomach just seconds prior, the blood now smeared on his opponent's hand which he used to transform.
A cannon appeared in Xentus' arms, he aimed it directly at Aedan, firing a destructive beam of water which struck him, now sending him blasting through the wall with deadly force.
"AGH!" he was buried beneath a pile of rubble, leaving the audience speechless as to what had just happened.
"That's incredible!" Scarlett watched in amazement, as did the other muses who shuddered at Xentus' mysterious abilities.
"W-what the…...how the hell is that even possible?" asked Basher.
Alain chuckled, "The tables have turned very quickly, It seems Xentus just might come out on top".
Nate shook his head, "N-no….it can't be".
"Aedan!" Kei flew back down, his wings had begun glowing silver, revealing the metallic form they had taken on.
"You're no exception either". Xentus laughed, he fired another beam only this time it was fire.
Kei groaned as he was almost struck, now dodging and swerving across the air, avoiding all of Xentus' attempts on him, "So that's how you want it then, fine!"
He stopped mid air, now taking on the fire blast as he used his wings to shield himself, his opponent continued laughing, keeping his assault going even stronger.
"Enough!" he growled, spreading his wings out which destroyed the fire attack, his powerful gusts had caused the flames to come raining back down on Xentus who was trapped in a series of explosions.
The crowd screamed as the entire stadium was caught in a powerful windstorm whipped up by Kei, Aedan shot up from under the ground, his cannons now floating at his sides as he aimed both of them as well as his palms down at Xentus who was on one knee.
His clothes had been burnt with gaping holes now loosely holding his threads, his cannons had been cracked and began malfunctioning, but it didn't stop him, he held both his weapons up, now aiming them both towards his opponents.
"I won't lose! Not to either of you!" he screamed and bellowed out, they could hear the pain behind his words, the fear, he was already at his limit, but he was going to keep fighting, no matter the price.
Aedan's eyes became vicious and dark, "Well then let's see who's the last man standing, because I'm not losing this fight either".
Both of them had fired their cannons, Aedan backed his power up with an extra boost of fire and water from his hands, their attacks collided, causing a massive windstorm and sphere of electrical current to form in the center of it all.
"Augh!" Kei was blown out of the sky from all the power, hitting and scraping across the ground as he shielded his eyes from the deadly bright attack.
"Agh!" Scarlett was easily blown back towards the wall from the powerful winds caused by the challengers attacks.
"Hold on!" shouted Nate, grabbing onto the handles of his seat as the others followed along, everyone in the stadium struggled to withstand the strong winds.
"Let's see you beat this!" shouted Xentus, hundreds of copies of Aedan had appeared all over the field, all of them firing their own attacks down at him and at Kei.
"Huh!" Kei saw the shower of attacks heading down towards him, he quickly struck his foot on the ground causing pillars of crystallized Ice to rise up and shield him.
"Ngh!" a green barrier formed over Aedan as he pushed forward to keep his attacks strong towards Xentus.
He could feel his energy draining fast from both his protection barrier and his attacks working at the same time, *My barrier won't hold for long, If I don't think of something quick he'll strike me for sure*
His eyes opened wide, "That's it!"
The barrier around him slowly began disappearing, at the same time a red coat of light began appearing over him, all the attacks being sent down by Xentus and his clones began hitting him, but they were being absorbed rather than damaging him.
"W-what?! But how? None of my attacks are doing anything!" he growled, now forcing a second wave of attacks to come down on him.
"Aedan". The muses watched in horror as they didn't know what he was up to.
The ice shattered with frustrated Kei, "I'm not letting you two have all the fun!"
He broke the ground beneath his feet to sink them in for safety as he opened his mouth and released a powerful dragon pulse, the attack leaving a wave of blinding light behind as it struck both Xentus and Aedan who absorbed it causing the last reserve to be filled up.
A piercing loud ring sounded off from Aedan as he had taken enough power in to finally release, the red light exploded from his body as it released a chain of explosions all across the arena hitting all three males who were thrown around, there bodys crumbling to the deadly pressure of hundreds of attacks mixed into one.
Kei was sent crashing through the stadium walls as Xentus's copies were all destroyed and the true one sent burying into a deep crater below, Aedan was the last who was sent crashing opposite of Kei into the walls as well.
"Holy crap!" cried Scott hiding beneath his seat as he picked upwards, his eyes shooting wide open as he saw the destruction left by the final attack.
"Is…...is it over?" asked Nate lowering his arm to peek.
"Are they dead?" said Alain worriedly.
Michael chuckled, "Judging how stubborn those three are, even death couldn't keep them away from this title."
Basher was just as worried, "They might not be dead, but if they're alive it's not going to be without some serious injuries".
They heard coughing, now looking at the destroyed battled field where piles of concrete laid all over, "Over there!" shouted Styles.
They something moving beneath one, now crawling out from the left hole in the stadium, "It's Kei!" the crowd cheered, watching as the dragon coughed as he climbed out from the rubble, now taking in a deep breath as he spit up dirt.
"I see something too!" Aaron pointed to the right side of the arena, it was the other hole left by Aedan who was limping out, using his destroyed cannons as support to walk, the crowd cheered even more upon seeing the two challengers still standing, now they were waiting on a third.
"But….where's Xentus?" asked Alain.
The ring officials came down, now checking the crater left by the impact of Xentus landing where they found his body beaten and unconscious. His body was pulled out and placed on a stretcher as he was being moved out, both Aedana and Kei stared at there defeated opponent before meeting stares.
"LADIES AND GENTLEMEN XENTUS HAS BEEN DEFEATED! ONLY TWO CHALLENGERS REMAIN WHO WILL BE CHAMPION?!"
"Looks like it's just you and me." groaned Kei with a snarky grin, he dragged his feet holding his injured arm, he was sure it was broken. His clothes were in shreds just hanging on barely to his body, his skin was smeared with dirt, blood, and so many open wounds, but even with so much pain drowning him, he still managed to make it through.
"Deep down I always knew I would have to face you…...and defeat you for that title." chuckled Aedan with a slight groan, he was just as bad, just as many wounds as his opponent, clothes hanging on by threads, skin painted in red from the blood of each other, his cannons had cracks all over, all caused by his opponent's brutality. However the Flygon hybrid male suffered just as much damage, one of his wings had been torn midway.
"Something from the very beginning told me these two would be the only remaining fighters, this fight is sure to be legendary" said Lucille biting her lip anxiously.
A malicious grin appeared on Aedan's lips as the ground beneath him began swerving with a small gust of power, waves of colorful lights began appearing all over his body, leaving both Kei and the audience in awe.
"W-what's he doing?" mumbled Kei readying his stance, though he realized that the same thing was beginning to happen to him, the same lights also surrounding his body.
"AGH!" he hunched forward as he grabbed his hand into the other, a burning hot pain came down on his hand, it felt like hot iron was going through his body.
He looked down at his palm where he saw a rainbow glowing seal now in the center of his palm, "W-what the hell did you do?"
Aedan looked down at his palm with voidless eyes where he also had the same marking, "I gave you the 100 mega seal."
(Flashback to 3 years ago after Blairs match with Sora)
There was a knock on the door, she looked onwards to see Aedan coming out from behind, a tiny smile on his face as he brought a small vase of flowers with him, "How are you feeling?"
She chuckled, flinching at the same time as she clutched her stomach, already he was disliking seeing her in such a state, "Never better, thanks for coming to see me."
He placed the vase alongside all the others taking over the shelves and even the ground, "Wow….."
She chuckled again, this time sheepishly as she rubbed the back of her head, "Yeah, most of them are from people calling themselves my fans, not really my thing but I guess that's what every champion before me dealt with huh."
He nodded, now taking a seat beside her, "I'm glad you're champion, but…" he paused, not knowing whether it was a good time to bring up some questions and concerns.
"But?" she asked, quirking an eyebrow up in curiosity.
He sighed, rubbing his neck hesitantly before turning his full face towards her, "What was that back there?"
"What?" she asked, still confused.
"That….all that sudden power, that mysterious transformation you had during your match, I've never seen anything like it, how come?"
It was then he noticed her smile drop, the atmosphere became tense and stern, "It's what I am."
"What do you mean?" he was still confused.
"….if I tell you, you have to promise to never share it with another soul, can you promise me that?"
He nodded, keeping a calm exterior however inside his heart was beating when she grabbed his hand, holding a tight grip on it, "I'm more than you think, and not in a good way, sometimes I'm scared of losing all control of myself, I'm not like you…...not like anyone in this school….."
He was taken aback by her words, he looked down to see her flip her hand over, now showing her palm to him which had a mysterious rainbow colored seal embedded, though it had faded seconds after. It was then he felt a burning stinging sensation on his palm and turned it over to see the exact same seal, only this time on himself.
(A/N: That symbol I'm referring to is the mega evolution symbol from the games and anime)
"What did you do?" he exclaimed now standing up and staring intensely at the new champion.
She kept facing down at her palm, "In my match, I saw…...and I felt …..only part of what I can do, Ina trained me to become exactly like her, the new mistress of rage….and to become one, I have to inherit the one hundred mega seal…..its power is frightening, nothing like I've ever felt, I can't amass all this energy in my body, it's too dangerous especially for somebody like me…..Aedan, you're the only one I feel safe and comfortable enough to trust with this…. I gave you the 100 mega mark, so a part of me now belongs to you, I can't trust myself with it, I'm scared of what will happen the day I achieve the one thousand mark…..and if it ever comes down to it and I lose all control….I want you to use this power to stop me, even if it kills me."
"Stop you? K-kill you? I-I can't I won't! Do you even know how crazy that sounds? How all of this sounds? …..Look…. I still don't understand what this all means, but whatever is going on with you, I can help, I'm your friend, I always will be, you don't have to do things alone, you have me!"
She clenched her palm, now turning up to look at him, a small half hearted smile appeared on her lips, "You can help me…...by promising me this….please…."
He looked down at her, eyes soft and filled with so much anguish, the brutal thought of bringing any type of harm to her was making him sick, but he could see the pain she was harboring in her eyes, she was telling the truth, he just didn't know what.
"You idiot…...why me….." he whispered hurt.
She still had that half hearted smile, now looking away, "Because I trust you more than I trust myself."
He frowned, a clenching feeling tightened around his chest, "Blair….." he mumbled uncontent.
Her words were still ringing in his head, he leaned back on the door upon leaving her room, he rose his hand up, now facing his palm where the symbol appeared once more before vanishing.
*Aedan, although you bare the 100 mega seal, its power is not to be taken lightly, consequences arise quickly if it is misused, you have excellent control and will, it's no question you were the one destined to hold me together, use this power wisely, the strength of 100, and let no one conquer you*
(End of Flashback)
He looked down at his palm, the same glowing symbol now appearing on his forehead,"Blair gave me this power….it's the only thing I have of hers, and now so do you."
Ina's eyes widened in horror, "No…..it can't be…"
"What". Asked Chase looking at the two fighters and then back at Ina who still looked on in disbelief.
Her hands had balled into fists, *Of all the opposing things she's done, this is the worst….the mega seal is sacred, you need years of meditation and training in order to just control it, if they fail, they can both lose their minds to the overwhelming power of the seal, they could die…..Blair…..what did you do?*
"Why? Why are you giving it to me?" he was confused more than anything.
"Because as much as you try to deny it, I know your feelings for Blair are strong, possibly on the same level as mine…...she might not be here with us right now…..but this…...this power makes it feel like shes right here with me…...by my side….it's like she never left…..…...this match, is all we ever wanted, Blair believed in us, and I want this match to be as equal and as fair as possible, and with this power now in us both, we can really see who is the true champion".
Kei remained silent, still staring at his palm where the seal had disappeared, this time reappearing on his forehead as well, "You're a fool you know that…..power like that, I've never heard of the mega seal….but if it were me, I would have kept it for myself, so don't regret it when I beat you and win".
A blue fiery glow had surrounded a smirking Aedan, shell like armor began appearing over his body while two cannons had appeared strapped to his arms, a third one appeared over his back, this one being triple the size of the others, his eyes had sharpened, he could feel the overwhelming power now surging through his veins.
His opponent's eyes widened, he took a step back, though he didn't show it, Aedan's new form left him intimidated to say the least, he had never seen this form of his, nor sensed a power like that, it was eerie, but it was also what he felt coursing through his body.
"Augh!" he hunched over, hugging his body tightly as he growled through the air with pain.
Aura gasped, horrified and yet fascinated by the mysterious transformation, "W-what's happening to him?!"
Lucille grabbed her shoulder, comforting her friend, "I've never seen anything like it…..both of them….they've reached a new level of power I've never sensed before".
Scarlette had noticed how Rouge began moving backwards, there was something off about her, "Rouge?"
The other muses turned to look back at the blonde who looked horrified, a traumatic look in her eyes had left her body trembling, "T-that energy…..I've felt it before".
Tears had begun welling up in her eyes, alarming her friends who came to her aid as she fainted, "ROUGE!"
"W-what's happening!" he began breathing heavily, he could feel his veins throbbing as the power continued taking over, a teal glow began creeping out of his mega seal, now coating his entire body as he threw his head backwards.
His loud roars silenced the audience as they watched speechless at his new transformation, his horns had stretched further out, almost five feet length, his two wings had split and then split once more creating six. Spikes had sprouted out all along his tail, while the three diamond scales at the tip of his tail turned into eight, creating the illusion of a crown.
His breaths were heavy, he looked down at his body, still processing how such a thing was possible, but when his eyes met with Aedan's he knew the power he talked about was much deeper than explained.
He took in a deep breath, closing his eyes as a devious grin drew along his lips, "I feel….unstoppable".
Chase was at a loss of words, "Ina…...that can't be…"
She closed her eyes, hiding the anger and franticness from the entire mess now created, "It is…..they've achieved mega evolution".
The red head shook his head, confused and now flooding with questions, "That's impossible! How?! Mega evolution was an ancient line of reserve power that died with the last masters".
"Not all of them". Said Ina, earning a look of silence and shock from her partner.
His head snapped back towards her, "You….you're one of them?"
She refused to look at him, now staring down at the field where two bright flashes of blue and teal illuminated the stadium, "Chase…...this battle can become very dangerous very quickly, the mega seal, originally the 100, is something not to be taken lightly…...and somehow those two have managed to acquire it…..but if they're not careful, they can kill each other, or many innocent students…...we have to stop this match".
He was still trying to process everything, "N-no….This entire time, you carried the secrets of the mega seal…...and you taught it to Blair didn't you?"
She said nothing, only confirming his answer, "W-why…...why didn't you tell me?"
His questions were ignored as she began taking a step away, "We have to end this match".
"Don't ignore my questions!" he shouted, she had stopped.
A sigh escaped her lips, "...this power, if its secrets fall into the wrong hands, many people will die….I can't trust anybody with it…..I took an oath with my master to never mention its existence to anyone".
His eyes narrowed into a glare, "You can't trust anybody…...except Blair, that's it right?"
"You have to understand, it was my duty to teach it to her, excluding those two down there, there are only a handful of people left in the world who can still achieve mega evolution, and three of them remain here, it's only a matter of time before more appear, and not all of them will be on our side".
"So what then, you wait for all the bad ones to show up and take them out? Or you let this legendary art die off and end it with you and Blair…..there's many things I agree with you, but this isn't one of them".
