A/N: Thank you again for any reviews! I started a new story, Hostage, and I was so happy that people liked it! It would make me so happy if you checked it out! Thanks!
Disclaimer: I've been forgetting to put these on here. Whoops. Still don't own Criminal Minds, or Gone Gone Gone by Phillip Phillips.
"So, how was everyone's day?" Haley asked her family as they ate their food. They all replied 'fine' and turned back to their food.
"That's it? No details or explanation?"
"Derek and I have that one class at the high school together." Emily offered.
"Psychology? With Gideon?"
"The one and only." Derek joked.
"I loved that class when I was in school. How do you 2 like it?" Aaron asked with curiosity.
"It's good, I've got Elle in there with me."
"Yeah, I've got Luke, and Emily of course, so it's ok."
"Glad to hear it." They all sat in silence. Normally, JJ would lead the conversation with tales of 1st grade, but she was silent. She was never silent. Emily made a mental note to ask her about it later.
A few hours later, when JJ was almost ready to go to bed, Emily sat down next to her and pulled her into her lap.
"Hey squirt, what's going on? You were awfully quiet at dinner."
"Abby's being mean to Stephen, Ashley, Spencer and me again."
"Did you tell your teacher?"
"No…"
"Ok Jayje, next time this happens, you've got to tell Ms. Todd, ok?"
"Ok Em'ly. I'm sorry."
"Don't be sorry peanut. It's ok."
"Will you sing me a song Em'ly?"
"Of course peanut, now get all snuggled up and I'll sing you a song." JJ got all bundled up under her covers as Emily tucked her in.
"When life leaves you high and dry
I'll be at your door tonight if you need help, if you need help
I'll shut down the city lights, I'll lie, cheat, I'll beg and bribe to make you well, to make you well
When enemies are at your door I'll carry you away from war
If you need help, if you need help
Your hope dangling by a string
I'll share in your suffering to make you well, to make you well
Give me reasons to believe,
That you would do the same for me
And I would do it for you, for you
Baby I'm not moving on
I love you long after you're gone
For you, for you
You would never sleep alone
I love you long after you're gone
And long after you're gone, gone, gone." Haley silently stood in the doorway listening to Emily sing to the blonde 6 year old.
"When you fall like a statue
I'm gon' be there to catch you
Put you on your feet, you on your feet
And if your well is empty
Not a thing will prevent me
Tell me what you need, what do you need
I surrender honestly
You've always done the same for me
So I would do it for you, for you
Baby I'm not moving on
I love you long after you're gone
For you, for you
You would never sleep alone
I love you long after you're gone
And long after you're gone, gone, gone
You're my backbone, you're my cornerstone
You're my crutch when my legs stop moving
You're my headstart, you're my rugged heart
You're the pokes that I've always needed
Like a drum my heart never stops beating
For you, for you
Baby I'm not moving on
I love you long after you're gone
For you, for you
You would never sleep alone
I love you long after you're gone
For you, for you
Baby I'm not moving on
I love you long after you're gone
For you, for you
You would never sleep alone
I love you long, long after you're gone
And long after you're gone, gone, gone
I love you long after you're gone gone gone…" JJ had fallen asleep, with her hair flying every which way.
"You have a beautiful voice." Haley finally made her presence known. Emily turned a deep shade of red.
"Y-you weren't supposed to hear that…" The only people who ever heard her sing were JJ and the little kids at her other homes. Never an adult.
"Relax Emily. You've got nothing to be ashamed of, you have a lovely voice." She smiled a bit.
"Thanks."
"Anytime. Sleep tight."
"You too." Emily climbed into her own bed, and was soon sound asleep.
