Garek closes his shop up early and made his way across the promenade he was going to check on Quark but decided that could wait. He needed information about Major Kira and for that, he went to the temple. The Bajorians and their religious beliefs he thought would be the end of them. He was hoping to find someone there that knew what her schedule would be. He sees Ensign Tarl, a young Bajoran just what he was hoping for.

"Excuse me, ensign."

He turns and looks are Garek with disgust, "What do you want Cardassian?"

"The occupation is over, and I'm just a simple tailor trying to make a living. There is no reason to be hostile."

"The occupation might be over but that doesn't mean that I have to like any Cardassian or you for that matter."

"As it maybe I was hoping you could let me know where I could find Major Kira. I was hoping to discuss something with her."

"Major Kira would not want anything from you."

"My young ensign, how can we possibly heal from the past if no one is willing to give anyone a chance at amends?"

"I still don't trust you but Major Kira is in ops and at 2200 she will be meeting with Turek to review their search for the assassin. Can I do anything else for you?"

"Oh no, you have been quite helpful."

Garek walks away smiling as the first part of his plans was going into motion. He wanted as many witnesses as possible to know that this Cardassian was looking for Major Kira throughout the day. After Major Kira's untimely demise all eyes will be on the tailor which should buy him enough time to escape.

The staff meeting had just ended and Sisko asks Major Kira to stay behind.

"Major has the Bajoran security been able to turn up any leads."

"Not yet Commander, but they will not give up until we have that Cardassian."

"Major, I will like to say again what I said at the staff meeting I'm not entirely sure this is the Cardassians, I think someone else is involved using them as the fall guys on this."

"Commander I know you believe that I do. But had you lived through the occupation you would believe that this is just the thing that the Cardassians would do."

"Major that is exactly is my point. Everyone expects it to be the Cardassians, they would have no way to get out of it to prove their innocence if it was them."

"Commander you will have to forgive me but it has been my experience that the Cardassian never worry about proving their innocence because they are too ruthless to care."

Sisko dismisses Kira and watches her take the elevator from ops and he knew there was no way to convince her of what he thought. Odo had his misgivings about the Cardassians and Sisko was hoping that he would have some luck.

Odo walks into medical to see the young federation doctor find out if he was having any luck with his miracle scanner."

"Doctor, are you having any luck?"

"Odo I should be done within the hour."

"That will be good. I was wondering doctor have you had anyone new come in for anything suspicious?"

"Like what, I have my log that you can review."

"Thank you I just was hoping that maybe our shape-shifter was trying to gain more sedative by faking an injury."

"That would be a good idea but as you can see from the log sheets no one has come in for that reason."

"Ok, keep working on it. I have a feeling that our assassin will be making a move soon."

"Why?"

"By now he must know that the real Dax has recovered and that means she would have told us about him being Jake. For him to start copying the senior staff and family members that means he is taking risks now that he would not have done a week ago."

"Why would he take more risk? What are you thinking?'

"Well he must be getting desperate it would even be difficult for him to keep hiding with the whole station searching for him. Be must be looking for a way out. He needs to get off the station before capture. His timeframe must be getting tight for him to risk being discovered."

"If he can copy any of us how do we know who he is?"

"Why doctor that is why we need your scanner. I wasn't sure when I first walk in here but now I'm sure he's not you. You are too nervous to be him."

Outside of medical Garek walks by smiling to himself as he walks toward Miles O'Brien to ask him where could he find Major Kira. After one or two more he thinks then it will be time for him to meet Major Kira and send her off to meet the prophets.
