Hey, guys. As you probably know, I have little updates on my life. I have a boyfriend. I'm ready to catch that Charizard. I think that Entei could be my real dad. I'm not sure. To be honest, I'm hoping so. It'd be a dream come true to have a legendary Pokémon like Entei as my long lost father.
Rest assured, you came here at a good time. We got the word that the Kraang broke into an abandoned lab to receive a new weapon they can use to their advantage. We're spying on them right now to see what that weapon was. I'm scratching myself right now. I'm trying to get an itch on my ear. I got an itch, it itches, it— AAAH! It's getting worse! I can't reach it!
"Let me get that for you." A large hand scratches my ear. I moan, which turns into a purr as I lean into the hand that's scratching my ear. I don't realize how much I'm leaning in until I fall on my side. I can hear Raphael laughing. "You loved that, didn't you?" He asks me. "Yes."
A flapping noise and a screech reaches my ears. We all look up to see the same Charizard from the other day. He lands next to Raphael. He notices the Great Ball on my collar and stares at it. "Oh, you knew I was planning on catching you?" I ask him. He nods. He's smarter than I thought.
The Charizard walks over to me and sniffs mah face. I half expected him to lick my face, but instead he grabs the Great Ball from my collar. "Hey!" I quickly take the Great Ball back. He huffs and presses the little button on the Great Ball. In he goes. It hasn't even been three seconds, and the Great Ball opens up in my hand, and the Charizard pops out.
Okay. Not a fan of being inside of a ball, I see. No problem. "He's smart, but at the same time, he's not too bright." Donatello says. "I agree with you, giant turtle." A voice says. It wasn't really deep. It sounds like a teenage boy.
A large, bipedal bird Pokémon walks up to us. It's is a bipedal, chicken-like Pokémon. The majority of its body is red with accents of beige, yellow, and gray. Behind its head, there are beige, hair-like feathers that continue downward and surround its chest and abdomen. It has a small red face with a V-shaped crest on its head. Its blue eyes are semicircular with yellow sclerae, and its mouth is similar to hooked beak. It has featherless, gray hands with three fingers each, and three clawed toes that are not normally visible due to the shaggy, yellow feathers on the bottom of its legs.
It has strong, muscular legs. With that kind of lower body strength helps its kicking and jumping abilities. Wait, I think I know what Pokémon this is. Do you? It's wrists have gray wristband-like markings capable of producing a tuft of fire above them. Blaziken can also make flames spout from its ankles.
It was, indeed, a Blaziken. Is this where that screech came from? "You must be the tiger Cyrus was telling me about." He says. I give him a look. "You know Cyrus?" I ask him. "I do. Normally, I keep my distance from mutants, but any friends of Cyrus is a friend of mine, so who am I to complain?"
"I like this guy already." Leonardo says. "What's your name?"
"Phoenix. That's Kakoa, the Charizard you must've seen before. I raised him when he was a Charmander." The Blaziken says, pointing to the Charizard. "Kakoa? That's a cool name. Better than the one I came up with." I say to Phoenix. "Why? What name did you come up with?" Phoenix asks me. "Jet." I answer him.
"Yeah, I think Kakoa's better. Anyway, I believe you have a Kraang problem on your hands, yes?" Phoenix asks us. "Yes, we do. Something about a disrupter. You knew about this?" I ask him. "I did. In fact, I— Take cover!"
Phoenix tackles me and Kakoa when a laser comes soaring at us. Kakoa flies upward to see who's shooting at us. After a few seconds, he lands and talks to Phoenix. "He said there's Kraang down there. Let's move." Phoenix commands as he and Kakoa jump down. The rest of us jump down and see a bunch of Kraang droids, as well as Bradford and Xever. And... Three different colored Mightyena?
There's a red and pink one with a king's robe, an anthropomorphic shiny one, and a normal one, who's slightly mutilated. Why do I feel like I've seen this gang before?
"Who the heck are you?" I ask the Mightyena trio. The red one speaks up first. "I call myself Magnus. King Magnus." The anthropomorphic shiny speaks next. "I'm Irwin, and the mutilated one is Banzai. We were sent here by the one and only cat from hell Kirā."
"Why couldn't he come himself?" I ask them. "He had more important things to attend to. So we came here on his behalf." Magnus says. "Didn't he also say that the tiger was the one we should be careful with? Because he's a brave little kitty who doesn't go down without a fight?" Banzai asks his teammates. He gets glares for a response.
"Oh, I'm one to fear, all right. I'll make sure you all hit the ground running." I say before I charge to attack the trio. These guys have sharp teeth, likes those Poochyena I encountered when I first met Incineroar. When I see a Kraang droid aim the disrupter at Michelangelo, I headshot it, causing the disrupter to fall to the ground.
I watch in awe how boldly Phoenix fights. He is known for using his legs to practice martial arts. He can lift his foot in the air, just above his head! How does he do that?
I manage to knock out the trio of Mightyena. And by that, I mean cause them to retreat. And we retreat too when we hear sirens.
We're in the dojo, telling Splinter what happened. Phoenix is sitting next to me. Splinter grabs his bokken, and Phoenix chirps. "You okay?" I ask him. "I was abused when I was a Combusken. That's why I stay away from humans." Phoenix tells me. Oh, the poor guy. I hate it. That's animal abuse, er Pokémon abuse.
I sense something behind me. Scared, Phoenix moves away. I grab whatever was about to hit me. "When you have psychic abilities, you can sense any presence behind you. But I don't normally use them unless it's absolutely necessary." I say to myself a bit too loudly.
"What's the point of this, exactly?" Raphael asks Splinter. "Evading a sword you cannot see demonstrates an ability to sense your enemy's intention." Splinter answers. "I already know my enemy's intention, Sensei. To take me down." Raphael replies.
"Knowing your enemy will strike is a given. But sensing when he will strike, can mean the difference between victory and defeat." Splinter explains. Raphael looks away for a moment, thinking, then nods. "Hai, Sensei."
Splinter goes back into his room. I feel bad for Phoenix. No one should have to go through being abused. I don't think I wanna know how badly he was hurt, or how he got hurt. But I'm glad he came through to become the brave bird Pokémon he is today, and raised a Charizard.
We're back out on our patrol and met Incineroar, Pātonā, and Flareon while Phoenix was leading us somewhere. Thanks to his tracking skills, he found Bradford and Xever in the corner of a closed store. They look like they're waiting for something. "I think we should proceed with caution, guys." Leonardo says, but they were already gone, except me, Phoenix, and Kakoa. Typical. Unlike them, I actually listen.
We join the fight. It was easier than I thought, and it was suspicious. I see Bradford and Phoenix glaring at each other. "You don't scare me." Bradford says, right before he nearly gets hit with Sky Uppercut.
"Scared now?" Phoenix asks him. "A little bit." He answers and runs off. Xever kicks me in the face, or at least tried to, before I grab the leg. "Nice try. But you're gonna have a hard time hitting me." I say before throwing Xever.
Blaziken is rarely found in the wild, but when found, it is usually seen living in grasslands. He'd probably get along well with Cobalt.
"Phoenix, do you think you can learn Crush Claw?" I ask him. "Uh, no, I don't think so. Seems ideal, though. I mean, check these hands out." He explains. He then notices something about all of us. "Is it just me, or do you all have a Fire Stone necklace?"
He's right. "Yes." I tell him. "Can we be alone for a moment?" I ask the boys. "Sure, go ahead." Leonardo says as he and his brothers run off to follow Bradford and Xever. The rest of us exit the warehouse. "It's true that we all have Fire Stone necklaces. Must be where we get our fire powers."
"False." A deep voice says. The same Entei from the other day, an Arcanine, and Cyrus, walks to us. "The arrangement of Pokémon types have changed eons ago. There's nothing you can do to ensure that we all stay the same. We're not."
"Yes, that's true. What's your name?" I ask the Entei. "You may call me Kingsley. And this is my daughter, Cyrus." My jaw drops. My girlfriend is the daughter of an Entei? "It's true. I'm sorry I didn't tell you before." Cyrus says. "Oh, it's okay! I just can't believe I'm standing in front of an Entei!"
"People do get excited when they see me, so there's no surprise there at all." Kingsley says. "This is my brother, Aries, by the way." He gestures to the Arcanine next to him. He holds out a paw. I'm guessing he wants me to shake it. I take my paw into his and shake it. "I was often mistaken for a tiger, but here I am, standing in front of one." Aries says. Yeah, I once thought that Growlithe was a tiger cub. It was later revealed that Growlithe is a puppy. A cute puppy.
"What's this legend you guys are talking about?" Cobalt nearly causes me to jump out of my skin, he scared the fur off of me. "Something that created the history of our types. All because of a foolish one."
"You know, a wise person told me that we had to band together to save the Pokémon types. Years ago, a careless ancestor destroyed the Pokkén Amulet. Now he's been trying to rule the world with it. If you ask me, it looks like one of those discs a DJ uses."
The pieces of the Pokkén Amulet resemble the berries used to neutralize super effective Pokémon moves, like the Occa Berry, the Passho Berry, the Wacan Berry, and so on. And since the Normal type isn't super effective on anything, there's a Chilan Berry. All of them are carved out of stone and formed to make a large circular shaped amulet.
"That is accurate, yes." I say to Cobalt. "My point is, if there's a Pokémon going out to bring back the Pokkén Amulet, then we need to stop him before he gets his paws on it!"
Kingsley and I glance at each other. "Young Lucario, I mean no disrespect, but the strongest against the weakest? Anything but that." He says. Cobalt gives us a look. "Why not?" He asks us. "The story that was told to you was not entirely true. Marcel, do you know of the story?"
"From the back of my hand." I answer. The other Fire types nod.
I'm rarely here anymore, but on the roof of an abandoned building, there's a place for the Pokkén Amulet, well protected, but there are about five or six pieces missing. "Let's tell him how it was, Marcel." Kingsley says. "Indubitably." I answer him.
Cobalt notices the Pokkén Amulet. "Oh, yeah, I've heard this story before. There should be eighteen pieces for every Pokémon type. But when the amulet was destroyed, the pieces became scattered across the land."
"Correction. There were no pieces missing. That is, until the Dark types started to hoard it for themselves." I tell him. He just looks at me. "Really?" He asks. "Yup. Cut out to ignore the hype of the types. Let me tell you how it really went down."
Music plays. Cobalt and I are sitting in front of a large rock wall with a mural on it. It shows an Arceus with Pokémon in their first evolutionary stages, like Eevee, Charmander, Squirtle, Pikachu, and so on. Any Pokémon with one type, meaning there is a Corvisquire there, too. But the one you really need to watch for is the Poochyena.
(This was inspired by the scene on Trolls World Tour)
We started off a team,
Party 'til we fall asleep, even on the street,
When we disagreed, we did it on beat,
Respect the unique, anything less if it's was weak,
The power of the stones made life complete,
'Til that one day that changed everything,
The Dark types started snatchin' up all of the stones,
The Poochyena, with great effort, grabs the large amulet with his teeth and manages to run off with it. The Arceus chases after it.
Put the melodies on top of popular moves,
They cut them out of the scene and then forgot what it really means,
Seen between all of the scheming, it seems like those thugs they stole from were meaningless,
Walkin' around like they were the geniuses,
But they're like combined samples, autotunes, and remixes,
The Poochyena is using the Pokkén Amulet like he was a DJ, creating auras that were dangerous to the touch. The Poochyena has an evil smile on his face as he blocks his enemy.
I'm a vegan, I don't have no beef in it,
Gotta protect my domain,
But the dream is to sing again, being friends, seamless blend, harmony ain't hard when the keys within you win,
Kingsley, Cyrus and I take our turns singing, standing around Cobalt in a circle. He sits here, glancing at us, then back at the mural.
First, it was all love (at first, it was all love), paws up, superstar love (stars up),
That you can have it, you can have it all love,
But then you took it, took it all love (they took it all), all love,
Turn it up louder (turn the music up louder),
Sing along, get the crowd up (get the crowd up, come on),
But then you took it all, love (took it all, love, come on),
Then forgot all about us, but it's all love,
Aries, Kakoa, Incineroar, Phoenix, and Flareon appear and either dance or shake their tails to the beat.
I feel you, sounds good in my ear when I hear it like that,
I feel you, I say I look good to the mirror and it says it right back,
I feel you, a little love wouldn't kill you,
You really did me wrong, it was real cruel,
Had a lot of love and I still do, 'cause I feel you.
Cobalt's face doesn't change. He's just staring in awe at the mural. I don't blame him. But telling the story like this is just too much fun.
Next morning, Arceus was on it,
He saw the warning signs, couldn't ignore it ,
Had to figure out how to save the way of life he had made, so he made a play,
The Dark types were comin' for it all, all for one and one for all,
So the only way we saw, how we saw it,
It was one thing left to be done, Arceus grabbed a single stone and said, "Run!"
The mural story ends with a distraught Poochyena holding only the Dark type piece, the one with the Colbur Berry.
Cobalt is probably crushed to hear that the story told to him was a lie. "And that's why we never live in harmony again. The Dark types were greedy, wanted all of the power to themselves." Kingsley concludes.
"I don't believe it... everything that guy told me was a lie... but I can make it right!" Cobalt says. "I can prove to everyone that were all the same!"
"But we're not all the same." I tell him. "It's why all our stones are different, because no two Pokémon are exactly the same." Cyrus explains. "Compare yourself to, say, a Cobalion. You both have the same type combination, but that doesn't mean you're the same. You get what we're saying?"
Cobalt looks down. "I never thought of it like that." He says. "Think about it like this; if we were all the same, like if we looked the same, use the same moves, that sorta thing, where's the fun in that?" Aries explains to Cobalt.
"We believe we can answer that question!"
We turn to see that Magnus, Irwin, and Banzai came back. And they were after the amulet! "Get away from that!" I shout. "In your dreams! Once Kirā gets his paws on this, he'll wipe out every single Pokémon, until only Dark types remain!" Irwin monologues.
"Not if we can help it!" Aries says. "Prepare for battle!" Kingsley booms. All of the Razing Rogues take their positions. "Assemble the troops." Cyrus says before roaring. All three of them use Snarl, lowering all of our Special Attack stats, except for Aries. "Whoa, they're playing dirty." Incineroar says.
The trio lunges for us. I'm taking on Irwin again. I have him pinned against the wall. "As you may know, I have an extraordinary IQ." He says. "So do I, except mine's better than yours tenfold." I tell him. "Oh, and I'm sure you won't believe me when I say this; that Entei over there, is your father."
It's like time stops around me. Or at least slows down. I can hear my heart beating. It's all I can hear. It's like I'm having a panic attack, I'm about to faint. No... it can't be true. No, it's not. Irwin's a villain, and I don't believe in anything villains have to say. "No. I don't believe you." I tell him.
"Oh? I knew you wouldn't. I mean, you wouldn't believe in a villain over your friends, right?" Irwin teases me. "Right." I say bluntly. "Ah, but one day, you'll see that I was right, and when that happens, don't come crawling to me. Got it?"
"Wouldn't dream of it."
"Good. Now then..." Irwin bites my arm, causing me to roar out in pain. I slam my arm on the ground with a loud thud. The impact of it only causes Irwin to clamp down on my arm tighter, and I can feel the teeth piercing my skin. I manage to throw Irwin off of me, knocking him into Magnus and Banzai.
Exhausted, the trio lie in a pile. The Razing Rogues and I surround him, growling. Magnus glares at the lot of us. "Fine. Have it your way. It's not worth losing to a group of dim witted Fire types." Magnus growls. He then runs off with Irwin and Banzai.
"I don't know who he thinks he's calling dim witted, but I don't take kindly to insults." Aries says. I swear, I will never look at Kingsley the same way again. "They are worthy adversaries, but the fight is ours." Kingsley says.
Kakoa nudges my shoulder. "Shouldn't you get back to your turtle friends?" He asks me. Oh, right. I knew I forgot something. "Um, we should get going. I have friends I need to meet up with." I tell Kingsley.
"Ah, yes. If we ever meet again, please do tell your turtle friends, and this Splinter fellow Cyrus told me about, that I am forever grateful for taking good care of you." Okay, he's pushing it. I'm starting to feel that Irwin's right. But he can't be. We can't trust villains.
"Will do." I say to him. And Kingsley wanders off without another word. "We should go, too. Tell the turtles I said hi!" Incineroar says as he was about to leave with Cyrus, Flareon, Phoenix, and Kakoa. "I will! See you guys later!"
I manage to make it back to the warehouse where I last met with the turtles. I'm right outside when a whistle reaches my ears, and there are the boys standing there behind me, exhausted. "Whoa, what happened to you guys?" I ask them. "Long story short. Stockman had us in some kind of labyrinth, and Raphael and good ol' calamari boy had to work together. Though I will say, they made a pretty good team." Pātonā explains.
"How'd things go with Phoenix?" Donatello asks me. "Things went rather well, thank you for asking." I answer him.
"He's still the enemy, Pātonā. As he'll take us out the first chance he gets." Raphael tells Pātonā. Hold on, I want to see something. I sneak up behind Raphael, and right when I was about to pounce, he hits my nose with a flick of the wrist. I rub my nose. "Very good! Ow..."
"I'm sorry!" Raphael says, laughing. "It's okay. You did good, Raphael." We turn to watch Bradford and Xever walk back to the cathedral. I put an arm around Raphael, happy for him. "You did good." Baxter's gonna get what's coming to him. One day...
A few things to talk about. I named Kingsley after King Quincy from Trolls World Tour (he also has the same voice actor, George Clinton, if you read my profile). I names Phoenix after the mythical bird of the same name. Kakoa is named after a husky I saw on a YouTube video. Aries is named after the zodiac sign of the same name.
The Pokkén Amulet is named after the game Pokkén Tournament DX. I couldn't think of a name. This was one of the first things that came to my head. I love the game, though, so it seems fitting. I'm hoping I spelled Pokkén right XD!
I'm running out of voice actors XD. The only one I can think of for Phoenix is Skylar Astin. Aries, Rebel Wilson. Kakoa... um... I'm not sure. Yet. I tried to make the most of this so it wasn't short, like "Panic in the Sewers".
My favorite song in Trolls World Tour, right in front of "Just Sing", is "It's All Love (History of Funk)."
I feel like I'm rushing through this. At least, I hope I'm not.
