Chapter 16: Gone with the Pegasus Wing
One sunny morning, Rainbow Dash is happily sleeping on a cloud. She snores a lot until she stretches her hooves. She then yawns and opens and closes her mouth. Rainbow lets out another yawn and rubs her eyes.
Once up, Rainbow says, "Alright, wings, let's go show the skies a little Rainbow Dash maximal action…"
Rainbow jumps up, but suddenly lands on the cloud, and can't seem to feel her wings.
She lifts her head up and asks, "wha?"
She turns to her back and is stunned, "Wha-wha-wha-wha-wha?!"
"MY WINGS!" Where are MY WINGS!" Rainbow exclaims.
Indeed, her rings have disappered. No longer attached to her back.
Rainbow panics, "Please let this be a nightmare and I'm not really awake… please…"
Suddenly, she hears a soft voice asking, "Rainbow Dash, what's wrong?"
Rainbow quickly turns to see one of her best friends, "Fluttershy! You gotta help!"
Meanwhile that morning, Twilight is happily sleeping in bed until she wakes up and stretches her hooves!"
She gets out of bed and says, "Good morning, Spike. Nothing like sunshine sparkling through a crystal prism window to bright on up a new day."
Suddenly, someone screams, "TWILIGHT!"
Twilight jumps up in surprise.
"What in the world?" Twilight asks.
At the front door, Twilight hurries over to see Sun and Starlight.
"Guys, did you hear screaming just now?" Sun asks.
"Yeah. It sounded like Rainbow Dash," Starlight says.
"I wonder what could she be doing other than screaming," Twilight says.
Twilight uses her magic to open the door then Rainbow rushes inside and lands on Twilight.
Rainbow panics, "Twilight, you Sun and Starlight gotta help me!"
"What happened Rainbow? What's wrong?" Twilight asks.
Sun looks at Rainbow and notices something different with shock, "Rainbow! What happened to your wings?!"
"I don't know. I just woke up and… I can't believe it! How could this happen? They're gone! You've got to help me find them! What's a pegasus without wings!" Rainbow panics.
Fluttershy walks in and says, "I'm sorry, but Rainbow sounded very upset."
"Apparently," Starlight says.
"This can't be something natural. I think some strange magic was used on Rainbow while she's sleeping," Sun says.
"But what happened to them?" Rainbow asks.
"I don't know," Twilight says.
"Don't know? What do you mean you don't know! You have to know! You always know everything!" Rainbow panics.
"Please Rainbow, Twilight is doing the best she can," Fluttershy says.
"Still, it's apparent that magic was involved in this. We need to figure out what magic was used and who is responsible for this," Sun says.
Twilight then uses her magic, "Just let see what a traumalocation spell can tell us about this situation."
The spell begins to glow bright that it creates a sort of portal or a screen to show what is happening. Soon, they see three unicorns. The first has dark blue fur, light blue mane, and magenta eyes. The second has red fur, pale blue mane, and yellow eyes. Finally, a gold unicorn with shaggy orange mane and orange eyes. The blue unicorn is holding Rainbow's wings.
Fluttershy gasps, "Rainbow, your wings were stolen!"
"Yes. And these are the ones who stole them," Starlight says.
"But what do they want with my wing?!" Rainbow asks.
Suddenly, they hear the blue unicorn say, "I can't believe it was so easy to get the wings we need for your spell, Goldcap!"
"Just a sleep spell, a nerve-numbing agent, and snickety-snick! Wings! Once we make ourselves alicorns, decepticolts, we'll be famous! Everypony'll know our names! I can't wait!" The gold unicorn says.
"Just think! We'll take our rightful place in Canterlot society! I might even become a princess! That's what Twilight Sparkle and Sun did! Princess Zappityhoof. I like it!"
The three ponies look at the wings with eagerness.
Goldcap says, "These wings have already soaked in the noon time sun. Now they have to absorb the twilight glow of the moon and the essence of wings can be drained to make our potion.
The blue Unicorn says, "Once the wings dissolve…"
"Drinking the potion will let us grow our own," The unicorn, Zappityhoof says.
"Dissolve?!" Fluttershy exclaims.
Shocked Twilight says, "Mane themselves into alicorns?!"
"With my wings?" Rainbow asks, shocked.
"They don't really think their stupid plan will work do you?" Sun asks.
"They wouldn't really be true alicorns, because their wings wouldn't be gifted to them, but they would have wings and are able to fly… They'd really only be false alicorns… pseudo-alicorns… pseuducorns!" Twilight says.
"Never mind that! The point is, three three will only be fake acorns. They would never become true alicorns," Sun says.
"She's right. I need my wings!" Rainbow says.
"We gotta go 'em!" Rainbow says.
"We can't just race over and demand your wings," Rainbow says.
"Why not?" Rainbow asks.
"Because we know their goal, but not their method. They're not going to give us their wings because they need it for their goal," Sun says.
"I'll have to research the spell they used to remove your wings, plus the one they're using to suspend them in midair…" Twilight says.
Rainbow groans, "Twilight, this is not a research project! This is a call for action! So we don't have all the answers, so what? We'll have to take a page from Daring Do's playbook and sneak up on them! All stealthy spy-like!"
"I have to agree with Rainbow on this um, scary idea. By the time you find out, those Unicorns would have used Rainbow's wings," Fluttershy says.
"You're right. We might not have much time. It's not our strengths, but I think I know how we can aid our stealth. I'll cloak us with a camouflage spell!" Twilight says.
Soon, Twilight's magic makes the girls' mane and tail different green and brown colors with some black.
Rainbow says, "Camouflage spells are cool"
"It's a don't-notice-me-field. It'll change to conform to your environment. Just keep to the edges. If you put yourself too much in somepony's way. They'll be forced to notice," Twilight says.
"So we need to be careful," Sun says.
"Great! Let's go!" Rainbow says, jumping in the air.
Suddenly falls to the ground.
She stands up and says, "Oh. I guess we'll have to trot."
"We won't need to take that long," Twilight says as she and Sun use their magic.
"Oh yeah! Instance scene change!" Rainbow says.
Soon, the group find themselves around a large forest with bramble bushes, large trees and bushes and vines on the trees.
"Remember, we need to be very quiet. We don't want those three to see us. Sun and I will look in the sky while the rest look below," Sun whispers.
"But what's the plan?" Starlight asks.
"You find 'em, I'll surprise 'em. We grab my wings and you zap us back out of there! That's all the plan we need!" Rainbow says.
"Let's hope it's that simple," Twilight mutters.
"Let's go," Sun whispers.
Sun and Twilight then fly over the trees and bushes. Soon, they are able to find the three unicorns with Rainbow's wings.
The unicorn, Goldcap turns to the blue one, "Twilight Glow's, on the way."
"How will we know if the wings have absorbed enough, Twilight Glow?" Zappityhoof asks.
"The colors will star to fade," Twilight Glow says.
"And drained into the potion bottle," Goldcap says.
Sun quickly hides in the trees unknown that Twilight is drawing herself close to what is going on.
Sun notices Twilight's shadow is in the three unicorn's view.
Rainbow whispers, "Twilight, you dummy! Camouflage won't help if you make a shadow!"
Zappityhoof asks, "What's that glitch?"
They soon look up and see the camouflage is wearing off.
"That spell... The pattern… that's Twilight Sparkle," Twilight Glow says.
"Now everypony! Catch her!" Zappityhoof shouts.
The three combine their attack and strike Twilight. Then she falls to the ground. Twilight Glow then has Twilight trapped in a net.
"Twilight! Starlight exclaims.
Starlight then uses her magic to strike at one of the unicorns.
Goldcap angrily turns her head, "Starlight Glimmer!"
Starlight then dodge and uses her magic. Suddenly, Zappityhoof performs a sneak attack and Starlight falls down. And then they trap Starlight in a net too.
"Starlight!" Fluttershy exclaims.
"Twilight"! Rainbow screams!"
Fluttershy and Rainbow hurry to help their friends.
"Rainbow! Fluttershy! Look out!" Twilight screams.
Rainbow and Fluttershy quickly turn their heads and suddenly find themselves trapped in a net.
Zappityhoof laughs and says, "Look at that, it's a saddle-worthy witness."
"Smooth shoulders," Twilight Glow adds.
"Blank Back! No wings at all!" Goldcap mocks.
Then the three begin to perform the spell.
Goldcap says, "Here comes the twilight energy!"
The wings begin to shrink smaller and smaller until it begins to seep into the potion bottle. Sun clutches her hooves in anger and knows what might happen next.
"My wings! No!" Rainbow exclaims.
Rainbow covers her hooves, "We totally screwed up, it's the wingless life from now on!"
"No! Your wings are just too much a part of you! We've got to solve this!"
"Nan, it's too late. I'm never gonna fly again," Rainbow whins.
"Never for a long time…" Twilight says.
Just then, Goldcap walks up to her and says, "Never is forever… we're making sure of that."
Goldcap… don't you know how forbidden this is?" Starlight angrily says.
"Why. You and Sun were just a unicorn you got wings. I don't see you complaining about them," Goldcap says.
"Yes, but…" Twilight says.
"You just want to hog the power and freedom for yourself!" Goldcap says.
Then Zappityhoof says, "We are different? We aren't as important?"
"It's not simple. Our wings weren't stolen from somepony else!" Twilight says.
"Are you sure," Twilight Glow asks.
"Yes. Our wings were…" Twilight says.
"Yeah right. Maybe someone else sacrificed their wings for you…" Goldcap says.
"That's not how it works! You're making a big mistake!" Twilight says.
Golscap ignores her and walks to the protein, "Once the last bit of wings has been dissolved, we can drink the potion and grow our own!"
"And then we will become princesses in Canterlot Society!" Zappityhoof adds.
"And then no one will be able to stop us!" Twilight Glow adds.
"That will never change a thing!" Someone shouts.
Then a swift of red and gold zips past the three unicorns. They soon notice that the protein is gone.
The potion!" Goldcap exclaims.
Where is it?!" Zappityhoof shockly says.
"Right here!" A voice speaks up.
The three Unicorns, Twilight and the girls turn their heads to see a human being holding the bottle. And is holding a smirk on her face.
Song:
Kagayaku sora ni ukabu
(Shining up in the sky are 12 constellations)
Twilight and the girls happily say, "Sun!"
"Princess Sun!" The three unicorns exclaim in shock
Song:
Jū ni no seiza koko ni egaitara
(If you were to draw them)
Sun says, "Sorry it took a little long, but I just want to be sure I have the right timing to get Rainbow's wings back."
Song:
Dare yori mo tsuyoi watashi ni kawaru
(Their power would make you stronger than anybody else)
Sun then uses the magic of her geode to change to her special crystal form. The one from the Memory Stone incident.
Song:
Ginga no mirakuru sutā chenji
(It's a galactic miracle, Star Change)
"Go Sun!" Starlight cheers.
"Yay!" Fluttershy says.
Song:
Imajinēshon no chikara tokihanatte
(Unleash the power of imagination)
"Go get them Sun. Show them what you made of." Twilight says.
Song:
Zettai mugendai uchū ippai minagiru yo
(Without a doubt, the universe will be overflowing with power)
"Looks like those three are in big trouble now!" Rainbow says, and begins laughing.
Song:
Mada Dang! Dang! Hora Bang! Bang!
(Keep going, Dang! Dang! Look, Bang! Bang!)
Twilight Drops angrily shouts, "Get her! She got the potion!"
The three unicorns fire their magic at Sun. Sun suddenly speeds away from the blast. Then take to the sky. Much of the three unicorns shock.

Tatakaeru koko kara
(This is our battle field from here on out)
Goldcap angrily says, "We won't let her ruin everything we worked on."
Goldcap then fires her magic at Sun, but she uses a force field to repel the attack.
Song:
Tuinkuru kitto min'na ga ireba
(Twinkle, if everyone were here)
"You have to do better than that!" Sun angrily says.
"Don't have to," Goldcap says.
Suddenly, Sun ends up getting tangled by the vines in the trees.
The girls exclaims, "Sun!"
Song:
Makenai tsuyoi kokoro motte
(Their strong hearts would lead us to victory)
Sun turns her head to see Zappityhoof using her magic to control the vines to tie Sun.
"You won't be getting away with those wings. Soon, we will become better than you!" Zappityhoof.
Song:
Tuinkuru hoshi wo tsunaide motto
(Twinkle, intertwine with the stars more and more)
Zappityhoof becomes shocked to see Sun struggles to break free and some begins to snap.
Song:
Dokomademo ikeru yo enajī
For wherever we go, energy is sure to follow
"But how?" Zappityhoof asks in shock.
Sun then shouts, "Shadow Charm activate: Chaos Blast!"
Song:
Mirakuru chansu chansu tsukande
(We'll grab hold of this miraculous opportunity)
Then Sun sends out a powerful energy at the area that is trapped her.
"How… how did she break free from my spell?" Zappityhoof exclaims.
"Knuckles Charm Activate…" Sun shouts.
Soon Sun's hands glow into gloves with spiked knuckles and shouts, "Knuckle Punch!"

Nē koko ni iru yo
(Hey, we're here for you)
Zappityhoof becomes stunned that she isn't able to intervene with the punch and is sent flying.
Song:
Nandomo tachiagatte
(We'll get back up on our feet every single time)
Zappityhoof is soon landing in the bush close by. Sun quickly turns her head to see Goldcap use her magic to fire at Sun.
Song:
Charenji dekiru jishin ga aru kara
(Since we have faith that we'll overcome these challenges)
Sun continues to fly away from the attack to avoid the attack.
Song:
Kirameku hoshi tachi ga mikata ni naru
(The shining stars are on our side)
Just then, Twilight Drops uses her magic to stop Sun in her tracks.
Song:
Muteki no pawafuru sutāraito
(They're our invincible and powerful starlight)
Then Godlcaps uses a powerful attack to strike at Sun.
Song:
Don'na kabe datte dondon norikoeteku
(We can overcome countless hurdles)
Sun then uses the magic from her shield to create a protective shield of pure fire.
"You did that. I never heard of magic like that!" Twilight Drops expalins.
Song:
Zettai mugendai yaruki ippai afureru yo
(Without a doubt, we'll always be overflowing with motivation)
"There's a lot that you don't know about me!"
Song:
Mada Run! Run! Hora Gan! Gan!
(Keep going, Run! Run! Look, Gan! Gan!)
"Tails Charm activate: Tails Tornado!" Sun calls out.
Sun then creates tornadoes from her wings that blow the two unicorns flying. Then land in the same bush as Zappityhoof.

(Twinkle, if everyone were here)
Sun flies to Twilight and the others to see their fine.
Song:
Uchū ichi no pawā dasu kara
(The universe would be filled with power)
"Don't worry, I'll get you out," Sun says.
Song:
Tuinkuru motto koe wo kikasete
(Twinkle, let us hear your voice some more)
"I'll get you out!" Sun says.
Then calls out, "Rouge Charm activate: Heart Cutter!"
Sun's gains pink glowing hearts on her feet then swings them to cut the rope off of her friends and free the group.
"We're free," Rainbow cheers.
Song:
Ginga wo terasu kibō ni naru yo
(For hope will light up the galaxy)
Sun then gives Rainbow the bottle, "Drink this and you'll get your wings back. It might sting a little."
"I'll take it," Rainbow says.
She takes the bottle and drinks it.
Song:
Mirakuru chansu chansu mezashite
(We'll aim for this miraculous opportunity)
Soon, Rainbow begins to glow and her wings are back.
"Aww yeah!" Rainbow happily says.
Twilight trunks to the three Unicorns, "Now to deal with them!"
Sun then changes back to her alicorn forms.
"I'll take care of them!" Sun says.

(Twinkle, if everyone were here)
The three unicorns step out of the bushes, and see the Sun in full anger.
Sun angrily says, "Now you three will listen and listen to me good."

Megenai supākuru zenkai!
(This tiny sparkle would unleash all of its power)
"Twilight and I never stole wings from anyone, and Princess Celestia never did as well. We studied hard, learned well, and made friends" Sun says.
Song:
Tuinkuru hoshi wo tsunaide motto
Twinkle, intertwine with the stars more and more
"And by doing so, we earned out wings, but you three. You three abused your magic for your own selfish gain. Stealing someone's wings just so you can become alicorns. That will never work. Even if the spell works, you will never become true alicorns. " Sun says.
Song:
Dokomademo tsuyoku nareru yo
For wherever we go, we'll become stronger
"You'll just be fakes. And you will never earn the hearts of the ponies in this world. For your abuse of magic and attempt to steal a pony's livelihood for their own gain. I'll temporarily remove your magic" Sun says.
The three unicorns scream in a panic.
Song:
Mirakuru chansu chansu kono te ni
(The miraculous chance is in our hands)
Sun then uses her magic to strike at the three unicorns. The three scream in a gunny from the magic. Soon, the magic is done. When they try to use their magic, none of them came.
"Nothing!" Zappityhoof whines.
"No magic!" Twilight Drops says.
"Me either, "Goldcap says, touching her horn.
Sun sternly says to them "In time, your magic will return. But no wings! Rainbow Dash's were never yours to take. Those wings should only carry one pony in the sky!"
"Then why do you have wings?!" Zappityhoof asks.
"How could you become princesses?!" Goldcap adds.
"What do you have that we don't? If it's not from taking wings from a pegasus," Twilight Drops says.
"Because of their strong magic and more importantly, magic that lies within their hearts," A voice says.
The ponies quickly turn their heads to see a familiar alicorn princess with three pegasus guards.
"Princess Celestia!" Sun and Twilight say, surprised.
The three unicorns are scared to see the princess and try to run away for their lives, but the pegasus guards stop them. They all slouch with sad looks to see they are in big trouble now. As the three are being taken away, Sun and the others meet with the princesses.
Celestia says, "Spike informed me what happened and I found that a few forbidden spells were missing from the library. I soon discover that those three, who are students of the school, were up to using forbidden magic to gain wings to become alicorns. However, they made a mistake, the spell they found was incomplete."
"Incomplete?" Starlight says confused.
"Yes. The spell was never finished because Starswirl along with Princess Platinum discovered what an evil sorcerer was planning and stopped him before he could complete what was needed for the spell to work," Celestia says.
"So in other words, the three used an incomplete spell that could have consequences, but why did it work on Rainbow?" Sun asks.
"Because the wings were rightfully hers. In theory, if they drink the incomplete potion they would get sick, and the wings will magically go to their rightful owner," Celestia says.
"Then it's a good thing Sun stopped her before they can drink it themselves," Rainbow says.
"Yes. now my little ponies. It is time for you all to get home. You must have a tiring day," Celestia says.
Celestia then uses her magic to teleport Sun, Twilight, and the others home. The three unicorns will pay for the crimes they have committed. The five girls fall asleep for the night and glad their mission is a success.
