Over six months earlier in the human world
It was a sunny day at the local middle school of Saint James Middle School. Kids were outside the school as it looked like they were playing outside during recess from the looks of it. Charlie was at the school as he wore the school uniform for the boys with a white shirt that had a silver collar and he wore the brown pants, but he wore he wore the black boots he usually wears and his hair was still long, thick, full, voluminous and beautiful. The shirt he wore had the school's initials on them that were "SJMS" which stood for St. James' Middle School crest embroidered on it but he had a black hoodie jacket over his shirt. He was somewhere outside the school.
Charlie was standing on the grass on the school grounds while he was eating what looked like three large slices of pepperoni pizza that had been in a plastic bag he was holding. He held the bag in his right hand and eaten the pizza with his left hand. He devoured the first slice and reached into the bag to devour the rest of them. The pizza had that tangy taste of spicy meat and tangy tasting cheese which the bread it was on was cooked to perfection. He devoured three slices of pizza he had, placed the now empty plastic bag in a nearby trashcan, pulled out a white napkin to wipe his hands and his face clean of any stains of red marina sauce, than dropped the used napkins in the trash.
He pulled out a small bottle of hand sanitizer from his pocket, popped the lid open, squeezed out a little on his hands, closed the lid and placed the bottle back in his pocket as he would wipe and rub the stuff all over his hands as if to clean his hands of any grease or sauce residue which the hand sanitizer took a minute to completely dry on his hands.
"That pizza was so good. But I wouldn't want to live off that for too long." said Charlie with a grin.
Charlie let out a loud burp after he had a full stomach of pizza which his burp was a loud one.
"Yeah man! That burp is gnarly, dude!" came a young male teenagers voice cheering.
Charlie looked towards the male teenager who spoke and it was a male human teenager with a purple Mohawk like hair that wore shaded green glasses.
"Hey Vince." said Charlie waving.
"Hey Masu-duh." came a female's voice.
He turned to see it was a female human teenager wearing a baseball cap that is worn backward with a blue hoodie and a salmon-pink skirt. She wore white and black tennis shoes and socks. She wore a mahogany backpack. The hoodie she is wearing is of school spirit as the school symbol is located in the corner. She was a Caucasian girl with light skin and of medium height with ginger hair braided into pigtails. She has freckles on her cheeks and her eyelashes are to the bottom of her eyelids. She was laughing at her own joke while Charlie appeared annoyed.
"Are you really that disgusting or did someone forget to tell you that burping in public is something that the cavemen still do while the modern human knows not to do that. Or are you just too stupid to learn that." laughed the female human teasing him.
"It's Matsuda and everyone has to burp some time, Maggie." said Charlie sounding annoyed.
"They at least know not to do in public. Didn't your dad ever teach you any manners or something." teased Maggie.
Charlie felt a sense of shame coming over him when his father was mentioned and that his own father was never there for him and he had deep seated dad issues. But he also felt a sense of anger rushing through him.
"At least I don't dress up like a street punk, Margaret." snapped Charlie.
The proud expression on Maggie's face turned to a cold look of rage.
"Did you just call me Margaret? Don't call me that! I'm not some kid with a grandma's name!" spat Maggie.
"Maybe they should call you Fran Fine from that old sitcom. You even sound just like her." said Charlie standing up for himself.
Maggie was looking angry and popped her neck.
"Say one more thing. I dare you!" growled Maggie.
"Oh Mrs. Sheffield, I think Maggie made a mess in the living room. She kissed that boy and he threw up all over the floor and Maggie's covered vomit." mocked Charlie with a female's nasally voice with a heavy Queens accent.
He really nailed that female's voice he mimicked and Maggie got so angry that she cracked her knuckles.
"I'm gonna have you crying for your momma." said Maggie growling.
Without warning, Maggie formed a fist and swung it at Charlie's face, punching him in his face which knocked him down on the ground. Charlie was about to get up but saw Maggie getting ready to punch him again.
"I give! I give!" begged Charlie.
"Baby gonna cry like a cry baby." taunted Maggie.
"Hey, Margot. Leave him alone, right now." came another female's voice.
Maggie stopped and looked up at a tall female human teenager with long blonde hair. It was Sasha with a cold look on her face. Charlie slowly got up as Sasha walked over towards Charlie's side.
"Oh, yeah? Or else what? He's nothing but a wimp." taunted Maggie.
"Or else I will tell on you that you've been bullying another kid that you knocked out and the other kids will see you as a jerk and you'll ether get detention, suspended from school or your parents could ground you. Lots of negative outcomes if anyone found out you assaulted a poor, innocent boy." Sasha threatened.
Maggie looked at the cold expression on Sasha's face. She wasn't backing down and she didn't even blink. Maggie felt a sense of fear but her face showed annoyance.
"Aw, jeez, Sash. I was just playin'." said Maggie trying to remain cool.
Maggie walked away with annoyed expression and Charlie blushed from what he witnessed. He remembered that his relationship with Sasha ended over a year ago. Sasha's cold expression turned into a pleasant one.
"Does this mean I have to thank you for what you just did?" said Charlie keeping his eyes off her.
"Don't have to, your blushing expression is saying that." said Sasha.
Sasha sniffed the air and she could smell the scent of spicy italian coming from Charlie.
"Were you eating pepperoni pizza?" asked Sasha.
"Yes I was." Charlie replied. "We were eating out last night."
"Well, you shouldn't eat it all the time or you'll get fat and soft and people who get fat are bullied more just because of their plump and round size." Sasha instructed firmly.
"It was just three large slices." Charlie began.
Sasha reached out to place her hands on Charlie's shoulders. This caused him to blush deeper.
"Well, even if it's once, still, you eat it too much and you'll get fat and soft and other kids bully those who are too big to fit through the door, which I don't think it's possible for someone to get that big but you get my point. I'm just trying to look out for you because you're a very delicate boy and those who are delicate need to be looked after because others bully those who are easy targets. You don't want to get bullied again just because they find out your a delicate little boy, would you?" said Sasha trying to sound supportive but was condescending.
"Well, no, but"
"Than you need me to look after you in case anyone tries to harm you like that mean girl Maggie. She would've clobbered you if I didn't step in. Besides, a delicate little boy like you needs mama Sasha, even if you were to defend yourself like self defense, others would see you as a brute if you were to hit a girl and you should let me be the one to handle those bullies. You wouldn't want others to think your a brute, would you?" said Sasha as she kept sounding supportive but was really being condescending.
"Well, no, but"
"Than just let mama handle those bullies for you." said Sasha sounding sweet.
Charlie felt like he had been given two choices and neither of them sounded like a good choice at all. It was ether let Sasha handle those bullies or be seen as a brute to others for defending himself against even a female bully. He let out a sigh as he knew what choice he had to go with.
"Okay." said Charlie sadly.
Sasha pulled Charlie into her arms as if to hug him but his face got a face full of where her chest would be. He bliushed and felt like his face was in between a pair of huge breasts when at Sasha's age, she probably ether hadn't developed breasts yet or she possibly had some breasts that were average for her age, possibly big for her age but Charlie never let that cross his mind for a reason.
"That's my good boy." said Sasha with a devious grin.
"Sasha, my face is in a place it shouldn't be." said Charlie almost muffled.
"Whoops." said Sasha blushing.
She released her arms from Charlie and pulled his face away from her.
"Sasha, I heard you're having a party next week. Is that like your birthday this year?" asked Charlie changing the subject.
"Not really my birthday, no. Just some random pool party is all." answered Sasha.
"Would you object if I was to ask if I could come along?" asked Charlie.
"Don't you think it would be super awkward that my ex would be at my party? Besides, other people might bully you if they see you as an easy target. You wouldn't want anyone to bully you there, would you?" said Sasha now starting to sound mean.
Sasha felt a bit annoyed by having Charlie over at her party but at the same time, she had an idea pop into her head. She saw Charlie was looking disappointed as she smiled.
"On second thought, why not. But while at my party, you do exactly as I say and if anyone bullies you there, just come to me and I'll handle them." Sasha instructed. "But don't go getting any ideas about trying to flirt with other girls. They'll just hurt you like Maggie tried to. I'm the only girl outside your family that'll care about you and look after you. Understand?"
Sasha had placed her hand underneath Charlie's chin as if to show trust which he was a bit surprised by now. Sasha gave him sympathetic smile which Charlie blushed and nodded as if feeling defeated.
"Okay." said Charlie.
Sasha pinched Charlie's cheek as if treating him like he was five years old.
"That's my little boy. Yes he is." said Sasha in a cute tone.
Charlie would've argued that Sasha was treating him like a stupid little boy but he felt the urge to use the bathroom starting to creep up on him.
"Got to go." said Charlie with a groan.
"Go where?" said Sasha not understanding.
"Yokushitsu." grunted Charlie. "Bathroom."
Charlie walked off as he headed for the bathroom inside the school. He ran down one hallway and entered the boy's bathroom, went inside a stall, locked himself inside and sat down on the toilet, he relieved himself and felt better afterwards.
"If I go to that party. I sure hope I can at least do some of what I want to do." said Charlie hopefully.
Charlie got up, pulled his pants and underwear up, after he buttoned up his pants and pulled the zipper up, he walked out, washed his hands and walked outside of the bathroom. The bell suddenly rang and Charlie stepped back as hundreds of kids would pass by but once the crowd of kids slowed down to very little amounts, he started to walk down the hallway but the direction he turned had him stop as his heart felt like it began to beat faster. He saw Anne Boonchuy walking down the hallway from a distance as Charlie felt like he could hear really sexy pop music playing in his head.
"Anne Boonchuy!" Charlie thought to himself excitedly.
Charlie saw Anne walking in his direction as he saw Anne's thick, beautiful, bouncy hair bounce a bit, her beautiful face looking flawless, her healthy body looking like it was the best type of body for a girl her age. Charlie's mind was racing from what he was wanting to say or do.
"Should I say hello to her? Wave to her? She's coming this way and what should I say to her?" Charlie thought to himself.
Charlie was starting to panic but than she saw someone with Anne and it was Sasha. His feelings of excitement about Anne had been put out like water to a fire. He turned around and hoped that they didn't see him and as they passed by, they didn't notice him but as the were now walking off, that was went Charlie saw that Anne had a noticeably thick and big butt, even if her clothing was still on. He stared at it for a minute and that was when Sasha looked behind her and saw Charlie. Charlie blushed and tried to look like he wasn't looking but out of the corner of his eye, he saw Sasha give him that cold look that sent a bit of fear in him, she shook her head at him and mouthed the words "don't you dare" and she turned her head around, walking away towards class. Charlie was left confused as he was being given mixed signals from Sasha at times but he also felt disappointed that Sasha was yet again telling him what to do. He knew that him and Sasha no longer date but he has been in love with Anne for about a year or so around the time he started sixth grade and that was the day he first saw her over a year ago. But Sasha was forbidding him from dating any other girl or even so much has lookng at another girl.
Charlie walked off towards his class as he spent the next few minutes in the class room he was learning the subject that they covered. It was poetry. The teacher was a slender male adult in his fifties who was of African-American descent with a full head of long, thick wavy hair in a ponytail.
"Alrighty class. You know your poetry can be of anything, could be about that special girl you like, could be about your favorite place in the world, it can even be about something you disapprove of. Anyone up for it?" said the teacher.
Many of the students were hesitant to go up first as if they didn't do their poetry while very few of them were raising their hands to be next. Charlie already got out his sheet of paper that had a poetry he thought of as it was about how he feels about someone that has him feeling the same emotion he was feeling when Sasha was telling him what he can and can't do. He was a bit nervous but he thought of something or someone that was giving him at least some bit of confidence. He thought of Anne and imagined her hugging him and standing up for himself against Sasha. The confidence rose inside him.
"Mind if I take a crack at it." said Charlie breaking the silence.
The teacher smiled.
"I'm cool with it." said the teacher.
Charlie got up from his seat, walked over towards the middle of the class room, he pulled out a pair of sunglasses that he placed on his face which the teacher saw this as a source of confidence.
"This is "Angry Little Me" ." said Charlie.
The teacher reached out to turn on a radio to play some soft hip hop music and Charlie began to gain the interest and attention of the class. This seemed like it had become a hip hop poetry slam.
"She is a bad, bad girl. She better get her booty out of my world. She's come a strolling along, what does she see. Huh, angry little me. She is a bad, bad girl. She is causing me so much stress that I want to hurl. Watch, she is a monster, you'll see. Huh, angry little me"
Charlie was shown to be really good at what he's doing. He was showing he was good a hip hop and rapping as he was singing like a famous hip hop artist. The students were showing to be entertained. The teacher was tapping his foot as he found this to be interesting and fun to see.
"Why does this girl think can control me? Everytime the boys see her, they all scream and flee. I see a hot sista that is so hot, this other bad girl thinks she's hot when she's not. When this bad girl comes around, it is time to run her out of town. What should I say to this bad girl, why use words when I can just hurl on her world. Why is she jealous of what I got, doesn't she realize she's not that hot, oh baby, she's a heartless as a robot. What is this girl's big prob, she is the world's biggest snob. What do I say about this bad girl? All I can say is "Hey, get your booty out of my world". Man, she is the such a bad girl"
As Charlie continued, the class would actually clap along as if creating some musical beats to this hip hop poetry slam.
"She is a bad, bad girl. She better get her booty out of my world. She's come a strolling along, what does she see. Huh, angry little me. She is a bad, bad girl. She is causing me so much stress that I want to hurl. Watch, she is a monster, you'll see. Huh, angry little me"
Charlie started to do somewhat of a dance move as her would wiggle his hips and do some dance moves with his legs. The class was entertained by this.
"She can't tell me what to do. Everything she says is total poo. Why does Sasha think that's queen? Everybody knows that girl is just mean. What do you think she had for lunch? I could give her a big fat punch. This bad girl is so insane, maybe she forgot that she lost her brain"
When Charlie got the word "Punch" he would show a fist and lay it back down as this was turning into a very interesting poetry slam that the class has never see before. The teacher was showing to be thrilled.
"She is a bad, bad girl. She better get her booty out of my world. She's come a strolling along, what does she see. Huh, angry little me. She is a bad, bad girl. She is causing me so much stress that I want to hurl. Watch, she is a monster, you'll see. Huh, angry little me"
As Charlie continued, the class and the teacher nearly felt like dancing but they managed to restraint themselves from doing so as they would settle for tapping their feet in excitement.
"I'm in love with a fly honey. But the bad girl makes me want to use the dunny. This bad girl's mind is racing faster than a disease that can kill. Huh, can this bad girl chill? Cause Charlie's got the speakers in the trunk to make you bounce, bounce, bounce, bounce, bounce, bounce, bounce. To make you bounce, bounce, bounce, bounce"
As Charlie was winning the class's interest from the poetry hip hop. To Charlie, he figured they just are entertained and wouldn't have interest in getting to know him but he didn't know he'd have them entertained at this point.
"She is a bad, bad girl. She better get her booty out of my world. She's come a strolling along, what does she see. Huh, angry little me. She is a bad, bad girl. She is causing me so much stress that I want to hurl. Watch, she is a monster, you'll see. Huh, angry little me"
As the hip hop music kept going and sounded like everyone was entetained. Everytime Charlie would rap out the words "Angry Little Me" some of the students would clap to the sound of the music. Charlie's dancing eventually slowed to a stop.
"She is a bad, bad girl. She better get her booty out of my world. She's come a strolling along, what does she see. Huh, angry little me. She is a bad, bad girl. She is causing me so much stress that I want to hurl. Watch, she is a monster, you'll see. Huh, angry little me"
Charlie stopped his singing to the hip hop as the music stopped. The class applauded for him as they felt like this was like seeing a live hip hop concert by a solo artist.
"Williams has nothing on him." said one of the students.
"That there is one of the most artist poems I've seen in all my years of teaching and the hip hop is a nice touch it. I give this an "A" for creativity." the teacher told him.
"Thanks sir." Charlie told his teacher.
Just as Charlie was about to sit back down at his seat. He saw what looked like two shadows flash by the window of the class room's door. He felt like something in his mind told him to investigate as he started to think of an idea on how to get out of class without looking suspicious. He let out a groan and placed his hand on the side of his head to feign a migraine.
"Something bothering you, Matsuda?" asked the teacher showing worry.
"I have a headache. Got anything for it?" asked Charlie lying.
The teacher looked like he was almost at a loss but shrugged it off.
"The only person with pain killers is the nurse. Go to the sick room and she'll do something about it. I wouldn't want it to get worse or you'll pass out like I did from when I tried to power through a headache, not my best decision." said the teacher explaining.
"Thanks sir." said Charlie with a groan.
Charlie walked towards the door and walked out of the class room. He folded the paper he had and placed it inside his pocket. He stopped faking his migraine and he headed for his locker, he got his backpack out. Than he went to the bathroom, and he changed out of his school uniform, changed into a pair of clothes that were a silver camo T-shirt and blue jeaned pants. He placed his school uniform in his backpack just as he looked in the mirror to see if his hair was looking good, he saw his hair was ruffled slightly but he quickly fixed that with a brush. He walked out of the bathroom and he saw two girls running around. One of them being a blonde girl and the other being a girl with messy, curly brown hair. It was Anne and Sasha.
A deep feeling of worry was going off in his mind like a police car's siren. He followed them but he was really good at making sure no one saw hm, especially making sure that Anne and Sasha didn't see him ether. He followed them and saw Anne stopped by the door that the sign read "Nurse" as he would hang around close by. He could catch what they were saying from the hiding place he was in.
"Yo, Sash. Sick room's over here." Anne pointed out.
Sasha let out a sigh of annoyance.
"Forget the sick room. Forget school. Let's get out of here and celebrate your birthday in style." Sasha suggested to Anne.
Anne showed an expression of worry as if hesitant to skip school. Charlie's sense of worry got worse but mostly because he was worried about what Sasha was about to do that could possibly affect Anne. Charlie felt like Sasha was up to no good.
"Oof, skip school? I don't know, Sash-" Anne hesitated.
"Anne, this is your 13th birthday. You only get one of these. So let's make it the best birthday in the history of birthdays." Sasha insisted.
With Anne being easily influenced by her so called friend, she relented when Sasha placed her hand on Anne's shoulder as a form of trust.
"Well... all right. I gotta be home by six, though. My parents are throwing a big party and they really want me to be there." Anne relented while informing Sasha.
"Right, right, you got it. Now let's get this thing started!" said Sasha cheerfully.
Sasha pulled Anne by her hand to lead out of the school. Charlie felt like how his mother was when the mom alert would go off in their heads when they sensed their kids were in a dire situation or about to be in one.
"The things I do for love." groaned Charlie.
Charlie followed them outside and when he saw that they took off on Anne's bike with Sasha riding on the back of it. They were giggling from excitement. Charlie was now seeing he didn't have wheels or any form of transportation to catch up to them. He had one idea in mind.
"Ladies and gentlemen, start your engines." said Charlie stretching. "Lord, forgive me."
Charlie took off running after them and he ran fast as a track running which he was surprisingly fast on his feet that he could catch up with Anne and Sasha. He followed them to an arcade they had in the local mall from the looks of it. As hours would go by, the first thing he saw was Anne and Sasha playing around in the arcade. The first game they were playing was a dancing arcade game by the name of "Super Dance Fun Time Fusion" he watched them playing around on it till they stopped after hitting the new high score.
"Sasha, what the hell are you doing to this sweet, innocent girl's mind? You two got to stop." Charlie whispered.
"Whoo! Top score." Anne said excitedly.
Anne sat down on the side of the game's dance floor and he briefly saw a look of shame on Anne's face but Sasha got her attention when the blonde human girl gave the machine a kick and quarters spilled out of the machine. Sasha looked like she was having the time of her life but when she wasn't looking, Anne had the worrying look on her face like she knew this was wrong. Charlie was feeling a mix of shock, anger and disgust.
"Anne, just run, she'll just bring you down if you get caught." Charlie whispered hopefully.
The next thing Charlie saw them do as he followed them was that Sasha was spray painting her name on the wall of an alleyway. Charlie was seeing this from a distance and he was feeling his heart sinking. Even when Anne tried to spray a bit of paint, a police car drove by and didn't notice them.
"Sasha, why are you doing this?" Charlie whispered.
Charlie followed them to their next place which he saw Sasha stealing a grocery cart and she convinced Anne to ride in the cart as she would push the cart while running. This happened at a local park. Sasha jumped up and they started to ride the cart like it was a car or a bike. Charlie was fast enough to catch up to them.
"Whoo! Here we go!" cried Sasha in excitement.
They ridden the cart like it was a motorcycle and the first person they almost ran into was a short, but little, plump old lady walking her dog but they jumped over her like a motorcycle going over a dirt hill to catch air.
"Out of the way, Granny!" cried Sasha as she laughed.
"Whoa!" cried Anne.
They nearly ran into two more people. A male African American and a female African American, they appeared to be teenagers out on a walk to get to know each other like it was a date. They dodged them by jumping over them like they did the old lady. Sasha was whooping it up while Anne was nearly terrified.
"Damn it, Sasha." said Charlie under his breath.
Charlie first went to the old lady and her dog.
"Ma'am, you alright? Anything broken?" asked Charlie kindly.
"Oh my, those two young ladies shouldn't be doing that. It's about as safe as skydiving." groaned the old lady.
"I apologize, ma'am." said Charlie being polite.
Charlie placed the handle of the dog leash in the old lady's hand and he took hold of the old lady by her waist.
"I'm gonna provide assistance." said Charlie.
Charlie pulled the old lady up into his arms and carried her. The old lady was wide eyed at first but started to blush with a grin afterwards. She had a hold on the leash that was connected to her dog's collar. Charlie walked over towards a park bench and he gently placed the old lady on the bench for her to sit on. The dog looked like it was obeying a command as the dog sat nearby it's owner.
"Ma'am, are you sure nothing is broken or damaged?" asked Charlie.
"I think I'm alright. Just waiting for my heart to catch up with me. But I'll be alright, deary." said the old lady kindly.
Charlie looked towards the other two people nearby.
"You guys alright over there?" called Charlie.
"We're good." said the couple nearby.
The couple nearby got up and dusted themselves off. Charlie got out his cellphone and phoned someone.
"Deary, who are you calling?" asked the old lady.
"Yes doctor. A sweet older lady fell over when two crazy kids nearly ran into her. I got her sitting on a park bench. She'll be waiting, send four of your physicians. Now." said Charlie over the phone.
As Charlie spoke over the phone with who was probably a doctor, the couple that was nearby came over as if they noticed a serious situation was happening.
"Understood. Just check her for any injuries and make sure she can get a hold of her family or caregiver." Charlie told them over the phone. "Anyone looking after her right now?"
The couple that came over came to sit down on the bench as there was room for at least four people to sit on. Charlie looked at the young couple as if looking for assistance.
"We'll look after the lady." said the female teenager.
"Yes, we got a couple of teenagers looking after the lady. They'll be waiting." said Charlie as he hung up his phone.
Charlie placed his phone away in his bag and looked towards the old lady.
"You two, look after the lady till the doctor's show up. I gotta go take care of a situation with those two teenagers." Charlie instructed.
"You got it, sir." said the male teenager.
"ArigatÅ." Charlie told them.
Charlie took off after Sasha and Anne as he ran faster than a track star. The old lady was blushing and grinning at the act of kindness the young man has done for her.
"What's next Sasha? Robbing a bank and going on vacation to France?" said Charlie sarcastically.
The next place that Charlie followed Sasha and Anne at was at a coffee shop with the sign that reads "Money Coffee" with a star in between the words. Charlie walked inside the coffee shop and stood somewhere that was a distance away from the two girls but he was watching them. He saw them wearing some colorful sunglasses while slurping down what looked like a type of coffee that was pink liquid with pink foam and they had the coffee cups in purple and pink with the coffee shop's logo on it.
"So that's what a unicorn tastes like. Corn syrup." said Anne.
Charlie smiled and chuckled at Anne's words.
"We all know that we'll never know the taste of a unicorn." Charlie joked to himself.
Anne suddenly heard her phone chiming and she took her sunglasses off. She looked at the clock on her phone and the lock read that it was 5:45 in the afternoon. Anne showed a look of alarm.
"Oh, shoot. It's almost 6:00. I gotta go, dude." Anne told Sasha.
Charlie felt a bit pleasant to hear Anne say that but his mood was short lived. Sasha looked up from her seat and took her shades off. She scoffed at Anne's words.
"Family party, right? Lame. Let me guess, a clown? With balloon animals?" teased Sasha.
Anne was left blushing as she knew that Sasha wasn't a fan of family parties like that. Charlie, on the other hand seemed to like that sort of thing as he felt like Anne came from a good family.
"I think it would be fun." Charlie whispered.
"I know it's not the coolest, but this is important to them." Anne defended her family.
"Mmm-hmm." said Sasha looking at her phone.
Suddenly, a smile lit up Sasha's face as she looked at something that came on her phone.
"Oh, my gosh. Marcy says she found the perfect gift for you downtown. A frog music box for the frog lover." laughed Sasha.
Sasha showed Anne the picture of what looked like a golden music box with three different colored gems on them and frogs carved on them. Sasha took a second look at the picture and smiled as if she had an idea.
"I wonder if those gems are real." Sasha said to herself.
Sasha got up from her seat and pulled Anne up as she was about to push her towards the door playfully and stopped.
"Come on. Let's keep this party train rollin'. Choo-choo!" Sasha cheered.
Charlie gave Sasha a look of disgust. But Anne was showing some guilt as she knew that it was time to call it a day.
"Sorry, dude. You don't understand. I really gotta go." said Anne about to walk out.
A cold expression on Sasha's face appeared and Charlie didn't like that. He knew that look as it was the same cold look that she gave him when she tried to assume control over him when they dated and before they dated.
"Oh, I understand, Anne. You're a good little girl who's gotta go home to her mommy and daddy. Come on. Hang out with your friends that love you." Sasha insisted with a grin.
Anne was looking back at Sasha while trying to look optimistic. She turned around to face her.
"Sasha, I'd really like to, but-" Anne began.
Sasha raised a hand to silence Anne. She gave her that cold look again.
"Anne, this isn't cute anymore. We are meeting up with Marcy right now. End of discussion." Sasha said with a cold demeaner.
Anne showed a surprised but shocked look on her face. Charlie was showing a shocked and surprised look too but it quickly turned to anger. He remembered that look and those three last demanding words, he felt like he wanted to just go up there, grab Anne and take her out of the place and back home while telling on Sasha but he felt like something held him back. The one thing that held him back was fear. Fear of Sasha's wrath and fear of ruining his chances with Anne as he really liked her but felt like he wasn't very confident in trying to talk to her. He hoped that Anne wouldn't do what he knew was going to happen but Anne was showed a weak optimism.
"I guess it's okay if I'm a little late." said Anne after glancing at the clock with a nervous chuckle.
Sasha smiled and pulled Anne towards the door as they walked out.
"Boom! I knew you'd change your mind." said Sasha excited.
Charlie followed them out and kept his distance as his cellphone rang. He looked at it and saw it was his mother. He answered it.
"Hello." said Charlie over the phone.
"Charlie, honey, where have you been? School was over less than three hours ago." came his mother's voice.
"Can I call you back, mom? I'm a bit busy." said Charlie.
"Honey, is someone bullying you again? Is that Sasha hurting you again? If she's hurting you, than you do know you can tell us and we'll file a restraining order against her." his mother suggested out of worry.
Charlie followed Anne towards what looked like a thrift shop.
"Mom, I kind of found another girl. I'm about to try and talk to her. She's gorgeous mom, you'd like her, you and the girls would like her. She's much nicer than Sasha. Sorry to cut this short but I'm about to make my move." said Charlie as he hung up the phone. "Mother, forgive me."
Charlie saw that Anne, Sasha, and now Marcy, were talking to each other. Sasha and Marcy stood outside while Anne went inside the thrift shop. The owner of the shop was in the back and the cashier wasn't paying attention as the cashier had fallen asleep. Charlie saw that Anne was about to take something from a big window.
"Anne, please don't do it." Charlie whispered to himself.
Anne reached out and grabbed the mysterious music box and looked at the window where Sasha and Marcy stood, they gave her a smile and thumbs up. Than Anne did what Charlie feared most. She placed the box in her backpack and zipped her bag up. She walked out the shop through the door and out of the building. Charlie's heart sunk as he made a prayer and looked up at the sky as if praying for forgiveness.
Charlie followed Anne, Sasha and Marcy as it got dark. Charlie followed them towards the park where a kids playground was at. Anne sat on a bench near the swings while Sasha and Marcy stood up. Charlie saw them from a distance where they couldn't see or hear him.
"Anne, don't do it." said Charlie desperately to himself.
"I wonder what's in this box, Sash." asked Anne looking curious.
"Who should open it?" asked Marcy.
"Rock, paper, scissors?" suggested Sasha.
The three female teenagers were forming a fist as Charlie was hiding nearby where they couldn't see or hear him. He was shaking his head in disapproval.
"Don't do it, Anne." whispered Charlie.
"Once, twice, shoot." said the three female teenagers.
As they were shaking their hands three times in the air, they formed a hand sign and it left Sasha smiling but Anne and Marcy groaned.
"I won. It's down to you two." said Sasha.
Anne and Marcy started to shake their hands three times in the air till they formed a hand sign. Anne groaned while Marcy patted Anne on the back.
"Don't worry, Anne. We'll be with you in this." said Marcy sounding reassuring.
"Okay, here goes." said Anne.
Anne reached her hand for the opening of the mysterious box and that's when Charlie got out from his hiding place and started to run towards Anne, Sasha and Marcy but it was too late. Anne opened the box and a bright flash of light was blasting out of the box like an illusion.
"No! Anne, don't do it!" shouted Charlie out loud running to them.
Charlie nearly reached them but there was some unknown force that felt like it was pulling both Anne, Sasha, Marcy and now Charlie as it pulled them inside the box like a portal to another world. Charlie screamed loudly.
"Come and find me, Anne!" screamed Charlie.
Present Day
Back in Wartwood. The smoke had disappeared after about an hour. Many people were waking up as Hop Pop was trying to wake up Anne. Anne was still knocked out from the knock out gas as everyone else had awaken. Many of them were arround Anne and saw she was slowly opening her eyes.
"What should we do to wake her?" asked Toadie looking worried.
"What about a bucket of water?" suggested another male frog.
The crowd let out a nervous groan and shook their heads.
"I think she'd hate that." said Toadstool blushing at the idea.
As other were thinking of ideas, that's when Mrs. Croaker pulled out a small bottle of what looked like a colorless liquid as she poured some of it on a rag. Sprig could tell what this was.
"Mrs. Croaker, is that smelling salts?" asked Sprig curiously.
"That it is. Just wave it under Anne's face bump or her nose as she calls it. At least that's what she calls it." said Mrs. Croaker handing the rag to Sprig.
"You got it." Sprig acknowledged.
Sprig went over to Anne's side and he waved the rag underneath Anne's nose while Anne was starting to respond to the smelling salts. She looked like she was coming out of her unconscious state.
"She's waking up." said Wally starting to feel his nerves calming.
"I know something to bring her out of it faster." said Ivy with a grin.
Ivy came over towards Anne's side and placed her hand on Anne's forehead and could tell she was still at the normal body temperature.
"What's...going...on." Anne said slowly.
"Anne! Someone's bullying Charlie and they look like they've hit him in his face. He's outnumbered!" Ivy said out loud.
Anne suddenly felt like what Ivy said gave her an energy boost as she was now fully conscious.
"Let me at them! No one harms my baby! I'll kick them in their ass!" cried Anne getting up.
Anne got up on her feet and looked like she was ready to smack someone with her fist clenched.
"Anne, relax. I only said that to help you come out of your unconscious state. We had to use smelling salts to help." said Ivy confessing.
"Well it worked. What happened here?" asked Anne.
Anne took a look at what the surroundings looked like right now and there was a bit of a mess. There was green tea spilled all around parts of the surroundings, stands that people would go to grab some good or drinks had some large scratches, anything made of wood had some damages that looked like someone too a sword at it and everyone looked like they just came out of their unconscious state. Charlie was nowhere to be found.
"Anne, it as an ambush. Knock out gas grenades were used on us all." said Polly looking shocked.
"But why were we ambushed?" said Anne looking worried.
They all were mumuring as if they didn't know. Anne was starting to look really panicked.
"Did anyone see anything?" Anne asked.
Many of them shrugged as if that answered what she asked.
"What about this?" came one of the frogs.
They all turned to see what looked like a dagger that was shoved into what remained of the six foot tall wooden statue of Charlie. The dagger was placed somewhere in between the feet of the statue. Anne walked over to the remains and so did everyone else. Anne took hold of the dagger and saw that a note was tied to the hilt of the dagger. She took the note off and unfolded it.
"Anne, what does it say?" asked Hop Pop.
Anne saw what the note said as she read it out loud.
We have your so called hero and he's been taken into custody by the toads. If you want him back, than surrender. You've been given twenty-four hours to arrive with your decision. If you don't arrive within the time we've given, than he's going to be given a deadly sentence.
Captain Grime
Everyone was gasping from horror. Some of them dropped what they had in their hands from the sound of such horrible news. Anne on the other hand was wide eyed with shock. Many of them looked right at Anne with worry.
"Anne?" said Hop Pop worried.
Anne was silent as it looked like horror was spreading across her face.
"Anne, we got to do something to help Charlie." said Sprig looking worried.
An expression of anger was now finding it's place across Anne's face. She popped her neck, cracked her knuckles and let out a growl of rage.
"They have my boy. Charlie Matsuda, my boy. If they harm one little hair on his head, than wait till they get a load of mama bear." said Anne.
"But it could be a trap or a set up." said Hop Pop.
Anne shot Hop Pop that enraged expression as she popped her neck again.
"Hop Pop, they have a member of our family, my boy. If they nabbed me or any of the other kids, than the parent of that child would be feeling as angry as I am." said Anne gritting her teeth.
"But we got to think of a plan. We can't just walk up to their doors without a plan or we're doomed. We barely escaped last time." Hop Pop reminded.
"I know the boom shrooms destroyed most of Toad Tower but that was just dumb luck." Wally stated.
Anne started to think as she really wanted to ambush the toad army to save her boyfriend but when Wally mentioned the boom shrooms. She suddenly gotten an idea in mind. The word "Boom" seemed to give her an idea on how to rescue Charlie while they could possibly avoid falling into a trap. Anne's look of rage turned to a devious smile.
"I know that look." said Polly looking excited.
"Light bulb." Anne uttered.
"Anne, what's on your mind?" asked Wally.
"I got an idea but it's going to sound a little crazy." said Anne giggling.
Anne began to explain the idea in mind to them for how they'd rescue Charlie while possibly avoiding a trap. As she told them the idea in mind, that's when everyone was wide eyed with shock.
