Things have been going pretty well for Jane and Maura, she had been brought home getting adjusted to regular life. Jane had asked Cavanaugh for some time off, she deserved a much needed vacation. Maura was taking time off herself even when she had been cleared to go back to work. She felt like she wouldn't be in her best mindset to start work yet. There was another medical examiner taking her place for the next couple of weeks. She had planned to resume work by the New Year.

It was now currently Sunday, a few days before Christmas. Jane and Maura were under a shared blanket, sipping on some eggnog that Angela and Korsak had made. It was pretty good. Maura really had wanted to help cook Rizzoli family dinner tonight, but Korsak offered to help, especially since she was helpful when he was injured, he thought Maura deserved a break. Korsak found it quite calming to be cooking with Angela, he's never cooked before, his ex wives had always cooked for him.

Maura couldn't help but keep looking into the kitchen, she hated not helping, Jane had her hand on her leg and Maura felt warmth, not only from the eggnog. Jane had been really helpful when she was injured, they started to continue sleeping in the same bed, the room Jane used to stay in turned into an actual guest room. Sometimes Korsak had stayed over night, he went back to living in his apartment but it felt empty. Sometimes it frustrated Jane to have Korsak at the house, but it made her mom happy, and she stayed out of Jane's personal life with Maura, for the most part.

Frost was sitting on the recliner, he was going to start working again tomorrow, he was so glad to be getting back to work. "Do you guys ever think if Angela is going to, you know, ever start living with Korsak?"

Jane looked at Maura and then to Frost, and shrugged, "Whenever I ask Ma if she is going to stay the night at his place she always gives me some odd non straight forward answer. I think she's got so adjusted to being here at Maura's the thought of moving somewhere else bothers her, but that's just my guess."

"I honestly don't mind Angela being here, but one day I'm sure me and Jane would want to, live alone with each other. Right?" Maura looked over at Jane who nodded.

"I would love nothing more than to live here, just you and me," Jane kissed the side of her head. "Korsak over stays his welcome a lot, he got real used to being here after that shooting. It's not like she's not going to come over and have Rizzoli family dinners when she does leave. She lives for Sundays."

"We really should talk to them about things more, I love Angela like she's my own mother, but I know how overbearing you think she can be at times," Maura sipped at her eggnog.

"Communication is important, or at least so I hear," Frost nodded. "I hope dinner is done soon, I'm starving."

"It should be done soon," Jane glanced over and seen Angela taking stuff out of the oven. "I'm going to see if Ma needs help setting up the table," Jane got up from the couch, taking her cup of eggnog along with her.

Frost looked at Maura, "Jane's helping?"

Maura laughed, "Yeah, I think she's trying to be domestic, I mean she's going to have to help if she wants to be with me the rest of our lives."

"Jane really is it for you, isn't she? That's really sweet, best friends dating and becoming wives."

She blushed, "She's the most important person in my life Frost. I'm crazy about her, she's definitely the one I've been always waiting for in my life." Maura looked over into the kitchen, Angela showing Jane what utensils they needed. "I love Jane, honestly Frost, I'm certain that we are going to get married. Don't tell Jane I've been thinking about it."

Frost smirked, "Your secret is safe with me. So I take it you're the one who's going to propose?"

Maura nodded. "I know I always dreamed of being proposed to, but I'm pretty certain Jane won't make that first move. I like the thought of me asking though, it would definitely be a surprise for her."

"I think that's very sweet of you Maura, Jane is lucky to have you."

"Trust me Frost, I'm the lucky one," she looked to the kitchen, sharing a smile with Jane.

Korsak was in the kitchen, quite amused to see Jane helping, Angela was telling her what to do, surprised herself of Jane taking the initiative. "I think Jane will be okay Angela, when we, you know."

Angela looked at Korsak and nodded, things were going great with Korsak, a few days ago he had asked her to move in with him, she said she will, she just needed to tell Jane first, not sure how she would take the news. "I know, I just, I've gotten used to living here. I do know she wants to be independent and have some time with just her and Maura," she spoke lowly so Jane couldn't hear her. "I was going to talk to her and Maura after everyone else leaves for the evening."

Jane came back into the kitchen for plates and to help bring the food to the table, "Are you guys going to just stand there or help me out?" she asked, before shaking her head. "God Ma, it's happened, I've turned into you."

"You say that like it's a bad thing," Angela smirked. "I'm coming to help," she shook her head, before helping Jane get the rest of the dinner on the table.

Korsak went into the living room, "Dinner is ready you guys. Frankie not here yet?"

Frost shook his head, "Frankie should be here soon, but no worries I'm here, so you're not completely surrounded by women. Even though, that's not a bad thing."

"Is Jane actually being helpful?" Maura got up with her cup of eggnog. "This stuff is really good by the way. You and Angela make a good team."

"Yeah, much better team than I made with any of my ex wives, Angela is definitely unlike no other woman I've had the pleasure of being with," Korsak smirked, pausing when there was a knock on the door, he went to go open it. There stood Frankie, but he wasn't alone. "Detective Roberts, I wasn't expecting you to be coming over."

"Well Frankie asked me and I thought I could, he told me he already checked it with Angela. And please Korsak, I've told you to call me Gwen," she smiled at him. Gwyneth Roberts had transferred from NYPD to Boston PD a few days before Jane took off for vacation. She was in her early 30's, dark brown hair, only a little taller than Frankie. Her and Frankie got assigned a case when she first arrived and they kind of bonded.

"My apologies, well come in," Korsak let the two of them come in. Besides Frankie, Korsak and Jane were the only ones who met the new Detective so far.

"Hello," she greeted, looking at Frost and then Maura, "You guys must be Barry Frost and Dr. Maura Isles. Frankie told me about you guys," Gwen shook both of their hands when they stood up. "My name is Gwyneth Roberts, but please call me Gwen. I'm the new detective at BPD I came from New York City."

"It's a pleasure meeting you Gwen," Maura nodded. "Jane mentioned meeting you the other day before she went on vacation."

"You don't happen to be a Yankees fan, are you?" Frost asked, and Gwen laughed.

"Jane asked me the same thing, I know you guys are all big on Boston pride here, but I'm not a huge obsessed fan of the Yankees, but I support them. Jane said she's going to try and convert me."

Frost laughed, "Yeah that sounds like her alright."

Jane came out of the living room, "Dinner's ready you guys," she noticed Gwen. "Frankie, you invited the Yankee fan over, when Ma said you were bringing a date I wasn't expecting her to be your date," Jane looked over at her brother mostly teasing before heading to the dining room, everyone else going as well.

Jane and Maura sat on one side with Korsak closest to Angela and Gwyneth sat in-between Frankie and Frost. Angela and Gwen introduced themselves. Jane's hand stayed rested on Maura's leg throughout the duration of the dinner, Maura felt warmth at the contact, she liked Jane being affectionate in a way. Angela and Gwen were held up in a conversation and Jane felt sort of sorry for Gwen, Angela was trying to get to know her. Jane found it amusing how she could see Frankie rolling his eyes, trying to stop their mom from talking.

Jane leaned over to whisper in Maura's ear, "Thank God the conversation is finally off of us."

Maura laughed to herself before whispering back in Jane's ear, "I'm more focused on how your hand keeps on going up higher on my leg. I think the eggnog made you a little frisky there," she smirked got back to eating. Jane smirked at Maura's words and ran her hand up higher, stroking the inner part of her thigh where a scar had formed. Maura readjusted herself, trying not to let anyone notice. Korsak was intentionally ignoring them.

Jane smirked to herself. She whispered in Maura's ear again, "I think this is the first time in my life that I don't want food for dessert," Jane spoke seductively causing both her and Maura to blush. Frost just eyed them and shook his head, seeing Maura bite her bottom lip for a moment he could only sense what was being whispered. He thought back to his and Maura's talk earlier, he's never seen Jane smile so much before, Frost knew Jane would totally say yes whenever Maura chose to propose to her.

ooh lala Korsangela talk, Frankie met a woman and Jane is being frisky. What will happen next, stay tuned for more.
