Avengers Elseworlds Chapter 23
Superman's S.T.A.R Labs
"Congratulations sir"
"The way you caught that crane like it weighed nothing"
"Very very impressive"
Said Diggle and Frost as part of his militia.
Deegan then slammed his hands on the main computer as sparks flew.
"The fugitives ESCAPED!"
"Sir we are quite sure you will bring them back to justice" Diggle assured
"No one can escape Superman" added Frost
"You really think so?" asked Deegan
"Sir you are far too powerful" said Diggle
"You're right. You're right"
The main screen picked up something.
"Sir the main pipeline" said Diggle
"Must be subject 1 making noise all morning" Frost adds.
"Kara with this..." Diggle said in annoyance
"No. You stay on Allen and Queen. I'll handle her"
Kara stood in her cell as Deegan walked toward her. Deegan blasted heat vision at the glass to scare her.
"I know the real man who wears that crest. And it's not you. You're not Superman" said Kara
"And yet I am. All that you once were. No offense to Barry Allen but as a hero, you, you are so much more than just faster than a speeding bullet"
"So you're imitating my powers and my family crest but not my gender? Too afraid to be a woman?"
"No I'm not afraid of anything. The Book of Destiny revealed to me all that I need to know on Barry Allen and Oliver Queen but for you and this Man of Steel, there was nothing, nothing but the Android you fought in Central City it's as if you don't exist in this world or even your Avenger pals"
"And that's why you locked me up, so you could dampen my powers"
"I don't know who you are. I don't know how you got here but none of that matters because I am now you. New and improved. And you will never see the light of day again"
"I'm gonna stop you"
"There's nothing to stop, I am the hero this planet needs"
Kara then tried to punch her way out of the cell only to be met with ringing in her ears from none other than her own sister Alex Danvers.
"Thank you Agent Danvers. These cells are patrolled 24/7 so don't get any bright ideas or you'll end up hurting in a very painful way"
"The only way out of here for you is in a casket" said Alex.
Deegan signaled Alex to leave.
"Wait. Alex" pleaded Kara.
"Oh. Oh you think you know that agent? You see I scrambled the reality on this earth, no one is who they were but I guess rewritten destiny has a way of playing jokes. You'd be a good prisoner. Or I kill her"
"You're a monster"
"No. I'm Superman"
Elswhere in the city, Oliver and Barry went into a building.
"So we reach Cisco, reach to Earth-38 and find real Superman" said Barry
"That's the plan" said Oliver
"Wait. What about Tasha and The Avengers?" asked Barry
"With any luck Maybe Doctor Strange sent them home safe and away from this new reality" said Oliver.
However as he said that, a sling ring portal opened as Natasha, Bruce and the New Avengers arrived.
"Actually you were close. I just simply sent us to a pocket dimension safe from any altering reality work to protect us from any changes to this reality and its timeline" Strange explained.
"How'd you know we'd be here?" asked Oliver
"Strange said he'd been talking with someone for all of us to meet up here" said Spider-Man.
"Behind that door, is where we'll find our answers" said Strange pointing to the door labeled 1A.
The group entered into a room which looked like it was in the vast void of the cosmos while standing on a circular platform.
"So you have followed my instructions as told Doctor? Good. Gentlemen, Avengers, it's time we talked about your Destiny" said none other than The Monitor.
"I must confess, my interest has peaked. You possess neither power nor abilities as yet you managed to outwit the opponent with the powers of a Super man"
"It's just one word. Superman" Barry explained.
"What is this? Hmm? If you're testing us then let us get back to it!" said Oliver
"Oliver Queen, a man who channels his hubris and anger and calls it strength. Are you truly that willing to die? No. Not eager, longing. Willing to. Good. You remind me of a poor soul from another universe, a Wolverine who has lived for over 200 years cursed with the powers of immortality how ultimately he gave his life to save young ones from danger. Maybe your same sense of self sacrifice might give this universe hope yet"
"If that's supposed to be a pep talk, I've had better" said Barry
"Self sacrifice alone will not see through this trial. Survival will only be found by knowing your true self. This world will be doomed. Like all the others"
"You still haven't haven't heard anything we told you. We're not gonna let this world down" Carol assured.
"Bravery and courage along with confidence will only get you so far Ms. Danvers. Strange and The Avengers shall assist you both on your journey"
"You still haven't told me why and how you found us and why you contacted me" said Strange.
"In due time Doctor. But for now, your role is not yet finshed"
The Monitor then sends everyone outside.
"Does anyone know what the hell just happened?" asked Natasha
"When The Monitor took the Book of Destiny back to Deegan, I knew reality was on the verge of being rewritten again. So I sent is all far and away from its effects" explained Strange.
"We should've stayed Strange and you know it" added Natasha
"He was gonna wipe us out from existence"
"Look enough! What matters now is that we get to Earth 38 and get the real Superman" said Oliver.
"Oh yes of course" Strange said as he opened a portal to Earth-38 at Superman's Fortress of Solitude.
"Oh... That was... Fast" Barry said
"Well I mean, wait how exactly did you know this is where Superman would be?" Oliver asked.
"Honestly? No clue"
"Well let's just go get Clark so we can save this new reality then" said Carol.
The group then catch up with Lois and Clark.
"Still Barry?" asked Clark.
"Oh no"
"So it's fixed, that's great"
"Not exactly. You see, reality got changed again" explained Peter
"Oh no. Kara?" asked Clark in concern of his cousin
"What's with that hammer over there? Looks like it can give Thor's a run for its money" asked Natasha as she touches it causing a flash of blinding light.
"Yeah you really uh.. Shouldn't touch that" Lois adds
"Look is everything is back to normal, well not everything" Barry explained
"Where's Kara?" Clark asked
"He's changed Central City and maybe the whole world. He thinks he's you and we're bad"
"And bottom line, Kara is no where to be found" adds Oliver.
"If we get the book back we should be able to rewrite reality again" said Barry.
"I've come across books like this before, the author writes things into existence through sheer force of will but changing the story comes at a cost" explained Clark
"Do you have any idea where the book could be?" asked Lois
"If I was him, I would keep it somewhere secure enough to also hold a Kryptonian"
"S.T.A.R Labs. Cisco designed that place to to be under lock and key" said Bruce.
"So we find S.T.A.R Labs, we find Kara, we find the book" added T'Challa.
"Question is what to we do about Evil Superman? From what Natasha and Bruce told me from the time you fought evil yous, a Kryptonian is no joke super strong" said Carol.
Lois and Clark looked at each other as they said
"I have to go/You have to go"
