Dipper Gleeful stared at the page, the words blurring with his exhaustion. He sat at one of the library's tables, books surrounding him in piles. He looked up, needing a break from the words on the page, and saw Pacifica staring at him. When he made eye contact she quickly looked back to her book, cheeks reddening slightly at the embarrassment of being caught. Dipper smirked and looked back at his book and continued to read.
He had changed back into his regular attire, and he couldn't express how good it felt to be wearing his regular clothes. Sure, the T-shirt and jeans had been comfortable, but now he felt like himself again. Also now it was much easier to intimidate people.
Pacifica looked back up at him. She couldn't tell what it was, but she felt a sort of weightlessness whenever she looked at him. His immaculate hair, sharpened features, and that fantastic posture... she couldn't help but look at him and blush.
Which made her feel incredibly stupid. Get yourself together, Pacifica, she thought. She still couldn't help but wonder if the Dipper from this world looked like him. She assumed, and maybe hoped, so. Though she could do without the blue eyes. Sure, they went well with his outfit and everything, but it made him seem slightly insane, and honestly? Maybe he was. He was from a different dimension after all. Anything was possible. Pacifica shook her thoughts away and as she came back from them, she noticed Dipper looking at her again.
She silently cursed and quickly went back at her book. She looked around for the others, but they were probably at the computers or looking for other books. It was just her and Dipper.
Dipper kept staring. Pacifica tried to focus on the book, but she kept glancing up to see Dipper still looking at her. She squirmed uncomfortably. "What? You trying to get back at me or something?" She asked. "No, just trying to see the similarities between you and Paz." He replied smoothly. "Paz?" Pacifica replied. "It's my nickname for the Pacifica in my dimension." Dipper explained, still staring. Pacifica cleared her throat. "Oh... you have a nickname for her. That's... nice."
Pacifica looked back at the book, but after a moment gave up. She put it aside and joined Dipper in his little staring contest.
Dipper wondered if he should tell her about his relationship with Paz. "So, what's your take on this world's Dipper?" He asked instead. Pacifica shrugged. "I dunno. Haven't seen him in seven years. Though I do remember him being a... well, an extreme nerd."
Dipper laughed. Pacifica smiled. "So, what's your take on your world's Pacifica? Is she as awesome as I am?" She asked. Dipper grinned. "Possibly more." "What? Impossible." Pacifica giggled.
"Possible, trust me." Dipper replied. "She's actually kind of like your guys' Mabel. You know sweaters, glitter, bright colors... stuff like that." "Huh," Pacifica responded. "Then what's your Mabel like?"
Dipper shrugged and looked down, breaking the eye contact. Pacifica leaned back in relief. "Do you miss her?" She asked. He shrugged again, trying to play it off and seem fine, but Pacifica saw though it.
"Anyway," Dipper said, trying to change the subject. "Have you found anything useful so far?" Pacifica slumped. "No, nothing. It's all just hypotheses and guesses with no actual evidence. I mean if ya study this for a living, you would think that you'd have just a bit more information." She replied, irritated.
"Why don't we just summon the freakazoid triangle and force him to take you back home?" She grumbled. Dipper smirked. "I don't know... from what Mabel has told me, this demon doesn't seem to be able to be reasoned with." "Well, we wouldn't be reasoning, we'd be threatening. I mean, he's in a human form now right? I'll just grab him by the ear and kick him in the shins, easy." Pacifica replied.
"Couldn't this guy just disintegrate you with barely a snap?" Dipper asked. Pacifica crossed her arms. "Yeah, I guess so." She pouted. "Man, why do all the supervillains have to be so powerful? It'd be so much easier if Bill was like, a bunny, or something." "I guess that's what makes them supervillains." He grabbed his book and started flitting through the pages, looking for anything that might be useful.
Unfortunately, nothing stood out.
Pacifica looked back at her book, but suddenly shrieked and dropped it back into the table. She quickly stood from her chair and backed away. "What? What is it?" Dipper looked up from his book worryingly, looking around for the cause of disturbance.
"Th-That!" Pacifica pointed at the open book lying on the table before her. Dipper looked at it and noticed purple jagged letters seemingly made of light covering the pages in front of them.
He got up from his seat and rushed around the table to look at them closer, Pacifica hiding behind him. The letters read:
I know what you seek.
If you wish to defeat him,
I can offer valuable insight.
Meet me at Gravity Falls' southernmost bus stop.
Only three may come.
Dipper and Pacifica looked at the page in silence as the letters slowly faded away. They then looked at each other. "We need to tell the others." They said in unison.
Ah, another chapter complete.
It feels like I got this one done quicker, but I'm not sure, because at this point the days are just kind of blending together. Not even online schooling can keep my schedule on track.
Anyway, I hope you enjoyed reading! I'm excited to see what happens next!
