Day 17 (July 23rd). Polar Opposites: The modern-day story of light vs dark. A tale of contrasts. Ying-Yang. Today's prompt is all about the conflict of light versus dark.
Focus: Carly is visiting Misty.
Characters: Carly/Misty. Implied Romance.
Carly sighed as she watched Misty turn on the stove to heat up the pot. Her eyes traveled down the new skirt she was wearing- then back up to admire how her shawl perfectly sculpted around her shoulders-
Ahem. Ahhh! It was no use! Carly couldn't get her thoughts off of this gorgeous, beautiful, stunningly attractive-
Misty Lola was a new species all on her own. There was no other definition for her beyond the supermodel. She was poised. She was graceful. She was always so calm in situations, no matter how aggressive or dire the event was, and…Carly would never be like that.
Carly, on the other hand, couldn't be described as anything else other than a hot mess. That was her! Just a clumsy doofus who couldn't even hold her spoon correctly while Misty could just stir and stir and-
Ahhhh! No. She couldn't compare the two of them. After all, it wasn't fair. Right?
It was like this when they were Dark Signers. When Carly was a Dark Signer, she didn't know what she was doing. She didn't want to be a Dark Signer. She hadn't known what her purpose was, why she was there, what she was doing, or even how to really duel!
Misty…Misty knew her purpose. She made the right choice in the end like Carly had tried to do. But it was different. Carly had been tricked. She had to fight for control. Misty was in control…
Carly's head was in a jumble. She was overthinking this. Too much. Yeah, her and Misty were different. That was okay! People were allowed to be different, after all.
Damn, it wasn't fair for someone to be so goddamn perfect, and then for someone like her, like Carly, to exist. Gah!
"I sense you have a lot of thoughts," Misty laid the teapot in the center of the table.
"Am I that easy to read?" Carly moaned.
"I don't have to read your face to know what you're thinking," Misty teased. "Would you like to talk about it?"
"N-No!" Carly shook her head rapidly so much that she almost knocked over her chair. "I'm okay! Yes, I'm okay! I swear!" Carly held her fists in front of her.
Misty chuckled under her breath. "If you're sure," Misty reached for the teapot to carefully pour the tea in their respective teacups. "Careful," Misty warned Carly. "It's hot."
"T-Thank you," Carly, despite Misty's innocent words, had a red-tinted face. Her heart was pounding heavily in her chest. "I'll keep that in mind."
Carly's mind wasn't on the tea. Her thoughts were sorely about the intoxicating woman sitting across from her.
