Chapter 19: Rest and Refocus

Valor Village

Selvaria, dressed in a simple white shirt and jeans was helping out an elderly woman carry her groceries in hand.

"Thank you dear..." An elderly woman said to the Valkyria with a smile on her face.

"No problems at all ma'am." Selvaria said with a smile on her face.

"Hey Selvaria!" A passing car with a family of four driving by. They were a family that she had helped with some gang members causing trouble in their part of the neighborhood.

Selvaria simply waved at the passing family in the car.

"Hey Selvaria, are making pies later?" A man at a bakery said as he cleaning up the front of his place. "You mind making a few more for my family?"

"No problem at all." The Valkyrian said with a smile.

She had become a bit of a sweetheart for the town. Ever since the job with Abigail, she had been going out on more jobs to deal with bandits and Grimm alike. This allowed for their town to get better bit by bit and that Grimm numbers had dropped to a good degree due to her actions.

The latter gave her more opportunity to train with her powers and get back to the skill level she had been at up to the final battle of the Gallian-Imperial War. Grimm were dying in droves at her lance and sword (Glory was in the middle of being retooled by a local skilled gunsmith make it handle to Dust rounds before she could use it again).

Overall, she was fully stable and happy with her new life. Once she felt ready, she would head out to find Ragna and see if the two could do more for this world.

"I said give us the damn money!"

Selvaria then saw that several Faunus with white masks were accosting an old man.

The Valkyria was angered by the sight as she looked to the old woman. Not saying a word, the elder nodded to her and took the bags from her.

Selvaria then walked up to the WF thugs with a look of anger on her face.

"We aren't going to ask again you useless human!" The lead thug stated. "The Fang wants as much as patriots such as ourselves and we're going to give them anything we can get our hands on."

"Damn the Fang Hunter for making us look like complete weaklings for so long." One of the Grunts said aloud.

"Quiet!" The leader said with a growl. "We don't need to bring up that monster to the humans."

One of the Faunus on the side looked at the sight before he felt a hand on his shoulder that tightened like a vicegrip.

Looking at who was hurting their fellow Faunus, they all had a slight chill down their spines when they saw Selvaria's eyes upon them.

Selvaria then turned the Faunus she was hurting to face her directly before punching them in the face, sending him flying a few feet back. He flew into one of other goons who fell with him as they didn't expect something like that to happen.

"Leave that man alone now." Selvaria warned as her glare made the other Faunus hesitate for a few seconds.

"Come on you idiots, there's seven of us and only one of her!" Their leader yelled. "So stop wasting tim-"

Selvaria quickly moved faster then they expected and slammed her boot into the lead thug's face, sending him flying back. The other goons soon snapped out of their nervousness and went on the attack.

One of the goons attempted to swing a baseball bat at her head, but Selvaria easily ducked under the swing and kicked the attacker square in the face. She then grabbed the bat from the enemy's loosened grip and swung it to the gut of another attack that tried to tackle her and sent him flying a few yards back.

She then pivoted out of the way of another attacker and nailed him in the back of the head with a spin kick. She then followed up with a strong jab to the gut of another WF supporter and made them cough up spit. She then quickly grabbed them by their right arm and shirt tossed them into another thug via judo throw.

She then dodged an attack from a knife wielder before she quickly grabbed the attacker's wrist and maneuvered to hold his arm back and swept his legs out from under him. She used her momentum to toss her foe into another of his fellows.

These thugs didn't have any Auras with them, meaning that they felt the power of a Valkyria in each strike.

The lead thug pulled out a switchblade as he tried to stab Selvaria. The Valkyrian General was easily able to avoid the the attack before slamming her right fist into the thug's gut. The Faunus coughed up quite a bit of spit before Selvaria followed up with a combo of punches and kicks. She moved faster then the thug could have reacted until she threw her strongest punch that sent him flying a few yards.

The head goon groaned as Selvaria walked over to him before slamming her boot on his right arm and his back.

"Damn you human!" The head thug said through gritted teeth as Selvaria applied more pressure to their back.

"Leave. Leave and never came back." Selvaria warned as she applied pressure to the thug's arm.

"FUCK YOU BITCH!" The lead thug yelled.

"Fine then." Selvaria said as she added more then enough pressure to break the lead thug's arm. She then kicked the goon in the side, having his front face her. She then stomped on his stomach. "You did choose to continue this pointless battle." She then stomped on the Faunus's face and knocked him unconscious.

The other thugs realized that this sliver-haired beauty was more dangerous then any human they've fought. However, they tried to fight through the pain she had given them and readied to attack again.

*BANG*

A gunshot sounded through the area, catching the Faunus and Selvaria by surprise.

"Oi!" Jacob said as he rushed out with a shotgun. "You damn brats better back off!"

"Up yours old man!" One of the thugs said as he tried to move toward Jacob. However, Selvaria got in the way and was glaring him down. The Faunus thug felt a chill run down his spine for some reason and his body took a step back without his mind telling his body to do so.

The WF thugs soon ran away with their unconscious leader, not wanting to deal with the silver-haired woman. She honestly was more scary to them then the Grimm.

"Who were those ruffians?" Selvaria questioned.

"Those were WF supporters." Jacob said with disgust in this voice. "Nothing more then extremists and delusional bastards who try to make things harder for both Humans and Faunus."

"I've read about them, honestly the radicals among their group are nothing more then suicidal fools who only wish is to see the world burn around them." Selvaria said with annoyance in her voice, though she grimaced a bit sense she wanted to kill herself.

"Either way that was reckless Selvaria. " Jacob stated. "You should be mindful of your surroundings going forward since they'll have you on their shit list."

"I'm not worried." Selvaria said as she still glared at the treating forms of the WF thugs. "I'll deal with them and if they go too far, they'll see just how much I was holding back."

Jacob knew full well how powerful Selvaria was from fighting against different Grimm and helping against bandits.

Selvaria then walked up to the old man, a caring smile on her face. "Are you alright sir?" She said.

"I'll be fine young lady." The old man said with relief on his face. "If I was younger I would have shown those delinquents a thing or two."

Selvaria smiled at that. She felt quite satisfied to do her good deed for today.

Jacob smiled at the sight of the Valkyria helping others. 'You've become the very guardian of the town Selvaria.' He thought.

However, she couldn't help but feel as though this wasn't the last time she would encounter the extremist group.

Beacon Academy, Main Gym

Ragna was grunting as he landed blows on a punching bag. His punches and kicks were coming fast and hard as he landed hits that made the bag almost fold from the power he was putting behind them. He soon threw a barrage of punches as he kept trying to make himself move faster, imagining it to the face of Kuro or the black haired woman he was attacking.

He then twisted his back and pulled his right fist back. He then threw it forward, putting his back into it as he struck hard enough to cause a tear in it and spilled sand, break the pin holding up the punching bag and sent forward a couple of yards. Ragna breathed out a little more heavily then the effort but he slowed his breathing to relax.

He then walked over to a martial arts training dummy and once more hit it as hard and fast as he could. The limbs of the dummy moved erratically from Ragna's continual attacks as he also blocked their movements toward him.

After a half hour of doing that he then walked over to an open space and pulled out Beowolf. He then began to swing and thrust his blade in multiple attacks and combos. His blade appeared to be a blur as he put his all into his movements. He was working on improving his movements and lessen how much of them he wasted.

Ragna then sat down on a nearby bench, breathing in and out heavily. He then grabbed a water bottle that was in a nearby cooler and drank up to over half of it. He also grabbed a rag to dry himself of the sweat he had on him.

He had been at this for a few days at this point. Pushing himself hard in order to improve his skills for the next time he ran into Kuro.

"I must admit, I don't think I've seen you push yourself that hard since the war."

Ragna turned his head to see Adrian enter the gym with his own bag.

"Yeah." Ragna said somewhat tired. "At least I have more time to train up and not get sent to other battlefronts." He then finished up his water bottle and got back on his feet. He then walked over to a large barbell and began putting more weights on it. He then began lifting it, his muscles straining as lifted the heavy weights and sweating quite a bit.

"Mathias called me earlier, he said that he and Eris will be looking into the whole Kuro transforming." Adrian said while crossing his arms. "If it is something that the White Fang has been experimenting with for some time they'll be certain to speak with their spies to find out anything."

"I see." Ragna said as he breathed in and out slowly in order to lessen the burn he was feeling.

Adrian looked closer at Ragna's body, seeing he was shaking a bit more as he kept going.

"Might want to relax for a bit there Ragna." Adrian said as he put a hand on the hybrid's shoulder.

"Adrian, I NEED to do this." Ragna stressed as he put down the barbells. "I have to get better or else Kuro will have the advantage over me and I'll be forced to use my Blue Flame and possibly give my identity away."

"Not unless any and all WF Grunts are either killed or knocked out." Adrian stated. "Why are you stressing this much about-"

"She turned the same damn way Maximilian did!" Ragna said as he slammed a fist to the side of another punching bag. "You of all people should know what that entails! Somehow the Grimm might in Eden or some Valkyria found out about them and made experiments to turn humans into them or give them a stronger form!"

"I get it, you think you're the only one that's concerned about it?" Adrian said while staring Ragna down. "I was there that day, wounded by Maximilian when he fought us himself. That bastard had overdosed on chemicals as well as that AV set up. He was tearing himself apart in order to defeat us but you still landed that blow. Of course when he turned and killed Johann, all of us couldn't have imagined it. So don't try and think that this whole situation is something that only worries you."

The two otherworlders held their glares for a few minutes before Ragna sighed loudly.

"Sorry, I guess seeing that again just..." Ragna said as he ran his hands over his face.

"Brought back what happened to Johann and Selvaria." Adrian said as he also began to relax.

Ragna then let out another loud sigh. "I've been over that for a while now, but that just took me by surprise. If it wasn't for my instincts kicking in suddenly, I could have been worse off."

"I know." Adrian said. "This of course means that somehow there is a connection between Remnant and Eden. This is something we have to investigate when the time comes. If we don't find out why this is the case..."

Adrian lingered off on that as they knew where he was going with it. Ragna drank some more water to help him relax as the two of them sat down on the bench.

"So, feeling a bit better?" Adrian said.

"A little bit." Ragna said while shrugging. "Sorry if I was worrying you."

"I understand that you want to deal with this situation as soon as possible, but you can't let yourself get tunnel vision because of this." Adrian said firmly.

Ragna sighed at that as he smiled. "I know, thanks for making me wise up."

A few minutes passed between the two as Ragna's breathing slowed down and relaxed.

"So I'm guessing you're going to have to tell Ozpin about damaging school property?" Adrian eventually said.

Ragna smirked at that. "I'll let him know. I'm sure he'll realize what's up when we speak with him."

He then rubbed the back of his neck. "Then again, if he also has an issue with us working with Eris then we'll have to find a way to make it work."

Adrian nodded while grunting. Another couple of minutes passed before Ragna spoke up.

"Hey Adrian, could you show me how to better use different weapons besides the ones I'm used to?" Ragna said while rubbing the back of his neck.

Adrian raised an eyebrow at that. "Why do you want to expand your use of weapons?"

"I figured it could help me out if I don't have my sniper rifle on hand." Ragna admitted. "Plus, Matt and the others were all multi-class back in Gallia. So I figured I could try for something like that. And if it helps me in dealing with threats like Kuro easier, I'm all for it."

Adrian smiled at Ragna's request. "You got it." He said. "But first, go take a shower since you are doing your class today and I have to do some exercise myself."

Ragna then took a quick sniff of his body and grimaced. "Sure thing pal." He said with a sheepish smile.

Team RWBY's Dorm Room, later that day

"Ugh... Why does he keep doing this to us?" Yang said as she fell on one of the bunkbeds.

"That training was brutal. Must. Rest. Body." Blake said as she landed on the other bunk.

Weiss simply sat in a chair let out a loud sigh. "Honestly, I know this is to help us improve but this is getting ridiculous."

Ruby then fell on her butt as she wined. "My everything is sore..."

Today had been another of Ragna's training class and they were once again were feeling sore and exhausted.

"How the hell is it that the first day we did this it wasn't as bad?" Yang complained as she turned over to face her front to the top bunk.

"He increased the amount of weights we carried and the distance we had to run, remember?" Weiss said. "He also made us try to do about 50 pushups, crunches, jumping jacks, and sit ups each immediately after running. And THEN lengthened the obstacle course by a quarter of a mile."

"Oh yeah..." Yang said while raising an arm before letting it flop down. "Man not even Uncle Qrow's training was this bad eh Rubes?"

"Yeah..." Ruby said in a slightly whiny tone.

The four girls all sighed as they took a few minutes to relax.

"Hey, did anyone think Ragna wasn't as focused as he usually is today?" Blake spoke up.

"How you mean Blake?" Weiss questioned.

"Something was up with how he acted earlier." Blake said, recalling how Ragna seemed a bit lost in his thoughts. "Like there was something that was bothering him."

"What could be worrying for him?" Yang questioned. "He's been able to knock around some of the Seniors and has a bit of a winning streak among us."

"Yang, just because he seems alright on the surface doesn't mean he's alright in his mind." Blake argued. "He's probably being bothered by something."

"Alright fine." Yang said.

"Maybe it's his sister?" Ruby questioned. "He has been worried about her for a while."

"I think he's just overthinking whatever it is. He should be a little more relaxed." Yang said as she yawned. "Wake me up in a little bit alright?"

Yang then rolled to her side as closed her eyes to sleep as she snored. Blake looked her partner and rolled her eyes at Yang just taking things in stride without issue.

'Kinda wish I was a bit more like her.' Blake thought before she too fell asleep with a small smile on her face.

Ruby then choose to get up and stretch a bit to help loosen her body. "I'm going out for a bit to relax. See you guys in a bit."

"Ok Ruby." Weiss said. "Just remember we need to work on our homework later."

"Got it Weiss..." Ruby said in a slightly whiny tone as she walked out of the room.

'That dolt, wanting to push herself even after all of this.' Weiss thought before giving a tiny smile to her partner and team leader.

Ozpin's Office

"So both you and Mr. Marasati ended up getting impatient and went with Mathias to one of his main contacts in order to find work and attack the White Fang." Ozpin said.

"Yeah that's pretty much it." Ragna said while shrugging.

Ozpin had been holding off talking about this until there was a good time for it. When he had heard about how the mission that Eris gave them occurred, he was rather concerned as to what happened. In particular he was stunned to hear about the transformation Kuro underwent to defeat Ragna.

This worried him as he wondered just what she had done in order to accomplish this.

"When were you going to inform me about this?" Ozpin said with a small frown of disappointment.

"Professor, with all due respect Ragna and I were becoming worried with the increasing frequency of WF attacks and especially with Kuro leaving her marks." Adrian said. "We had been waiting for some time and while you have been giving us missions when possible, we needed to find a way to strike back at them."

"Yeah, going to meet with Eris was our best bet if we were going to put several dents in them." Ragna said. "We knew that you could have problems with this, but after seeing that Kuro was getting a higher kill count we had to do SOMETHING to get her to realize we will retaliate."

Ozpin sighed and shook his head. "You two are quite stubborn when it comes to facing an enemy, its quite something. I apologize for not giving more missions for recently. I was mainly trying to find ones that would give you a guarantee of success."

"So?" Adrian said.

"I have... reservations with you working with Ms. Lilac." Ozpin said while frowning. "However, it is your choice if you want to keep your attacks going and increase the number of missions you can take."

Ragna and Adrian sighed a bit in relief at this as small smiles appeared on their faces.

"Now, about the transformation that Kuro underwent." Glynda stated.

"It's the same as what happened to Maximilian on the Marmota." Ragna said with a sigh. "It wasn't as monstrous looking as his but a more refined version, and boosted her abilities to where she was beating me."

"How could something like that be possible?" Glynda questioned. "Something like this has never existed before in Remnant!"

'Though, Salem is only one that would be the obvious exception.' She thought. 'Though is this something that she is now capable of?'

"To be honest, I'm wondering about that as well." Ragna said. "Since Eden and Remnant are two nearly different worlds and since both are lacking the ability to go into space, there's no way either could have interacted outright." he then put a hand to his chin and thought for a minute. "Then again..."

"Do you have an idea Mr. Blaze?" Ozpin said with a raised eyebrow.

"I'm not sure, maybe the Valkyria visited Remnant thousands of years ago and they took some Grimm with them for study." Ragna said. "I mean in my world the Valkyria 'descended from the heavens', so maybe they could have been aliens or something."

Both Headmaster and Combat Instructor looked at each other before turning to the young hybrid and his friend.

"It's a shot in the dark cause I'm not sure myself." Ragna said. 'Though I should let them know about ancestor later.' He thought to himself.

"Well, we'll think of something when the time comes." Opzin said. "You are dismissed for right now. I'll be sure to send you information for a mission later today."

"Thank you Ozpin." Ragna said as the two Edenians nodded and turned about to leave the room.

Once they had gotten into the elevator and went down, Glynda turned to Ozpin with a bit of worry on her face. "How could a member of the White Fang undergone something that could cause that?"

"I am worried about this as well Glynda." Ozpin said with a small frown on his face. "If anything, this may confirm that Salem may have some hand in helping the White Fang."

"She must be using them as an additional force alongside the Grimm and anyone loyal to her." Glynda said. "Either the Fang have gotten so desperate to accept help from those associated with her or their goals of turning the current world on its head are aligned."

"Fair points." Ozpin noted. "Regardless, if things continued as they are we may have to involve James and his forces soon."

Glynda clicked her tongue at that. "You know that James will bring far more forces then we would like in order to make his show of strength that more grandiose."

"True, but I believe that Mr. Blaze and Mr. Marasati could help with finding ways to better use that many soldiers and weapons

"So you're still allowing them to work with Lilac." Glynda said. "I'm surprised you didn't say no to them for that."

Ozpin breathed in slowly and let out an annoyed sigh. "I realize I could have said that, but they probably wouldn't listen. They would still find a way to get missions from her or have Mathias tell them. It's unfortunate but this way it prevents any issues between us in the future. Along as she doesn't put any of them in a situation that they won't be able to overcome."

"Are you still going to be antagonistic with her?" Glynda questioned. "It's been years since that day."

"Glynda you know why I can't speak with that woman." Ozpin said. "What happened that day is still burned into my mind."

"What happened at Mt. Glenn was a mistake but you shouldn't have done what you did." Glynda said.

"I did what I thought would be best for Vale at the time." Ozpin said with a frown. "How they handled things was going against what I had planned and would have made things far worse."

Both adults and long time allies looked at each other with the tension slowly building between them. After a few minutes, Glynda sighed and began to walk out of Ozpin's office. Her heels clacked agaisnt the floor as she made it halfway before stopping.

"You know, Mr. Blaze will find out about that out sooner or later." Glynda said while turning her head toward Ozpin. "If he does find out about the unit she served in and that it can be activated again, he will push for it. My question is, will you allow it?"

Ozpin let out a deep sigh while his eyes were closed. "I'll cross that bridge when it comes."

Outside of Beacon

Ruby was sitting on a bench as she was lost in her thoughts. She no longer felt the soreness she had earlier, meaning that she was getting better physically. She also was getting better little by little with hand to hand combat. She was now able to have better form with her punches and kicks.

She couldn't believe that it took her newest friend to do what her sister had failed to try for years. After all, it was either doing the training or do more homework in her other classes.

And she was not going to spread more time working on homework instead of either working on Crescent Rose or trying to be a better leader for her team.

She couldn't help but wonder what she could do in latter years at Beacon with Ragna helping her out.

"Hey Ruby."

The Little Red Reaper turned to see Ragna approaching her.

"Hey Ragna." Ruby said simply. "What's up?"

"Oh just finished a bit my own training." Ragna said while stretching out his back.

"Is everything okay with you?" Ruby questioned. "Blake says you were a little out of it earlier during class."

Ragna raised an eyebrow at this before sitting down on the bench next to Ruby. "Oh I was just getting concerned about the increasing number of White Fang attacks being reported in recent days. I figured if I have to deal with them eventually that I should at the best I am in order to better handle them."

"You really that concerned about them?" Ruby questioned.

"I might have picked a fight with goons that were supporters of them when they tired to ruin a peaceful protest a few mouths back." Ragna said while scratching his right cheek. "Might be a little much, but I figured it wouldn't hurt at all."

"Ok then." Ruby said, accepting his reasoning. The two of them stayed quiet for a few minutes until Ruby broke the silence.

"Hey Ragna, why did you choose to become a Huntsmen?" Ruby questioned.

Ragna turned to Ruby with a raised eyebrow. "Why do you ask?"

"Well, I guess I was curious about it." Ruby said. "You make it seem like you are one in all but name with how you tend to beat some of the others around easily."

"It's like I said to you guys before, I also want to see about making a change in the world." Ragna said while shrugging. "I also want to get stronger so when the day comes, I can take down both the Fang and the Grimm. The former refuses to see reason and will just continue down a path of self-destruction and the latter are just monsters to put down."

"I see." Ruby said. "So just want to deal with them and help people?"

"Pretty much." Ragna said. "Besides, if no one is willing to step up in dealing with both problems then I'll gladly take up that role."

"Really?" Ruby said while tilting her head.

"It's something my dad told me a long time ago." Ragna said as he had a sad smile on his face. "He said that whenever a problem comes around and no one else is willing or able to deal with it, someone has to step up and either deal with it themselves or lead the way for others to follow."

"Wow..." Ruby said.

"So, why did you want to be a Huntress Ruby?" Ragna said. "I recall what you said to Blake and all but is there more?"

Ruby then looked in front of her with a sad smile on her face. "Yeah there was."

"As you can see with Yang and I, we had the same dad but different moms. My mom, Summer Rose was basically a Supermom. She was strong, kind, always made Yang and I happy. She made the best cookies and always made me and Yang feel safe. One day when the two of us were young, she left to go on a mission with her team. We waited for her to return, so we could play around with her and life live like normal. But... she never did."

Ragna saw the pain that flashed through Ruby's eyes. Even though she had come to terms with the loss, it still affected her deeply.

"When I heard that she died I was devastated." Ruby said as she hugged her knees closer. "Yang wanted to try and find where our dad and Yang's mom met in order to try and rebuild our family. She found a map that led to an old cabin that they had stayed at years ago. We didn't know that it was abandoned and the two of us were attacked by Grimm.

"When I was older, I want to Mom's grave and broke down. I wanted her to still be here, that I wanted that she would appear in front of me and say that she was back, But I knew that wasn't the case."

Ruby then looked ahead of herself. "I made a promise that day on her gravestone. I swore that I would become a Huntress, to make sure that no else could lose someone like I did. I trained so much in order to become as good with Crescent Rose as possible along with my Semblance. I want to be the best Huntress I can be, to sure other kids don't lose their parents ever again."

Silence followed this as Ragna processed what Ruby had said. He recalled what Ruby had said to Ozpin that day via his Scroll, but this was deeper then he imagined.

'Almost like something out of a comic book.' He thought to himself

Ragna then patted Ruby on the head, surprising her a bit. She then turned to see him smiling at her. "That's a very strong reason you have there Ruby. I think your mom would no doubt be proud of you wanting to follow your heart."

Ruby was a bit surprised by the what the hybrid said. She then smiled back at the young hybrid. "Thanks for that Ragna."

"Well considering that you have a dream like that, I guess I have to make your training even more potent." Ragna said with a grin as Ruby paled. "Oh relax Ruby, I know it will be torture for next few days, but trust me. I'll make sure you will be a few times more skilled and capable then you are right now. I promise to help put you on the path to being the best."

"You'll really help me out to become the best Huntress I can be?" Ruby said while tilting her head.

"That and then some." Ragna said with a grin. "Of course, I could use some help with understanding weapons outside what I usually work with."

Ruby's eyes lit up at that. "Really!?" She exclaimed.

Ragna chuckled at her enthusiasm. "Yeah, I asked Adrian to help me out with practicing other weapons. I figured it wouldn't hurt to learn how to use different weapons."

"You got it!" Ruby said as she stood up. "I'll be certain to let you know different ammo types that could help against various Grimm, which weapons work best against which Grimm, and what attachments we could add onto them!"

"Oh sorry have to get going now!" Ruby said as she got up. "Weiss texted me saying we need to work on homework, as much as I don't want to."

"It's fine, just let me know when you're available and maybe we can get started on working together." Ragna said with a smirk.

"You got it!" Ruby said with a grin. "See you later Ragna!"

"See you." Ragna said as Ruby ran off normally.

"You and her seem to have a bit more in common then I thought young pup." Lupa said in his mind.

"I guess so." Ragna mentally said back. "I guess the more I learn about my new friends, the more I see they all have emotional baggage."

"Everyone does, it depends on when they choose to confront it or open up to others that can help is when they can overcome it and be the best they can be." Lupa said with a smile on her face.

"Something tells me that Ms. Rose have play a bigger role in this world then one would think." Lupa said.

"What do you mean?" Ragna questioned.

"Call it a hunch." Lupa said with a smile.

Ragna then turned to Ruby's ever smaller form with a smile on his face. If one of his newest friends had a big role to play for this world, he would make sure that she was physically and mentally ready for it.

That's all for right now. Things are going in motion for some of the parties.

Selvaria's first encounter with the White Fang will be leading into when she and Ragna's paths finally collide and Ragna is pushing himself for when his next fight with Kuro occurs (where he maybe getting ready to use his Blue Flame to bring her down).

With Ragna now facing something that is a dead ringer for the incident that caused the whole thing with him and Selvaria to occur, he's getting more worried then before. Of course, he's putting in more time to better himself and get stronger.

I haven't covered this much but I'm going with the idea of Multi-Class soldiers for when I bring in some of the VC elements into the story. Now for those that play Valkyria Chronicles, we know of the different specialist classes that nations like Gallia use. However, I'm betting that there are soldiers in those nations that are skilled in two or more classes after putting in the training.

Adrian and the OCs I'll be putting in are multi-class and can use a few different weapons. This is due to both me and Johnnie wanting there to be special soldiers that can tackle the enemy in different ways.

So when my OCs make an appearance you'll see just what I'm talking about. So Ragna wants to look into be multi-class himself, to help him better fight people like Kuro.

Also yeah, I took some inspiration from the RWBY Manga that focused on Ruby. It was mainly the part that focused on why she became a Huntress and how that tied into her mother's death. I figured this would better connect her to Ragna and a way to form a closer bond (no I'm that going in THAT direction with the two).

I also figured that I could include Ruby to help out with his training due to her being such a weapons geek that she would know what ones could fit him best, maybe even help with ideas for weapons as well.

So yeah, next update will probably be either Flight of the Twin Eagles or PM:SV. Expect them coming soon.

Next chapter for this story will be build up for Ragna's next fight with Kuro and Ragna beginning to try out something with his powers that Johnnie had him do when I let him do an earlier battle.

Next Time on RWBY: Remnant of Flames

Man, I've been meaning to try that out since that time we teamed up

Next time, the Fang Hunter will finally met his end

Damned racist bastards, looks like the Fang Hunter has to send another letter to the press

Ruby, try focusing your Semblance on one limb and then attack

So Ragna finally ready for our match?

Did I just unlock my Semblance!?

Chapter 20: Ragna's Burning Resolve

That's all for right now.

This is Blazblade, signing off.
