Chapter 19: Moving
"Fugaku," Mikoto called from the kitchen. She was in the process of making breakfast for the two of them. Itachi had been gone on a mission with Shisui for about a week now.
"Yes, koi?" He answered as he came into the kitchen to see his wife at the stove. He hadn't asked how her last appointment had gone since he had been busy with the police force the last couple of days.
"Do you think you can find someone to help me out around the house? Kagome-chan fears that I might over exert myself." He came and hugged her from behind.
"Of course. I know how high risk this is for you. We were told you were not able to have any more children, the fact you carry our child now is a miracle." He rubbed her belly affectionately.
"Ano, children. We are having twins." She blushed. He had been overly affectionate since he found out she was with child again. He tried to be home more often now, worrying about her sensitive state.
"This is a miracle. I don't want you doing too much koi. I don't want to take chances with this blessing we received." He kissed her hair. "I will find someone today to stay with you and help you around the house. You go rest. I will finish breakfast." She shooed her to the table where she had a cup of tea sitting. It was the blend Kagome told her to drink twice a day. She usually had a cup in the morning and one in the evening.
He looked at the food and finished it up relatively quickly. He placed the serving plates on the table and placed plates and chopsticks in front of them and he made sure she had plenty of food before he took some for himself. He finished quickly enough and placed a kiss to her temple with words of assurance to find someone. She smiled and watched him go.
~With Team Kakashi~
They were surprised to show up to the training grounds they usually used to see Kakashi already there. Sakura stammered and Naruto and Sasuke looked at the closed eye smiled, knowing exactly what was going on. They had been helping him with this surprise for a while now.
"So they said yes," Sasuke said and Kakashi nodded.
"So we're moving everything instead of training today," Naruto added.
"Yes. If we get started now, we should be done by lunch. Then you guys can have the rest of the day off." The three nodded and they raced to his apartment. They got to work on packing everything up, Naruto using clones to get the job done quicker. He really wanted to spend the rest of the afternoon exploring the body of his boyfriend since hadn't been able to while out on this last mission. He wanted to show him how much he meant to him.
Sakura was planning to spend her afternoon shopping and gossiping with Ino about what she missed out on while she was away. She was still sore about Sasuke being with Naruto. Sasuke was every girl's dream in the village, but he had to be with someone like Naruto. She didn't understand it. Naruto was annoying and loud and male and she was, well, female.
Kakashi had finished packing up all of his and Kagome's clothes and personal things. He didn't need his students knowing what kind of things he and Kagome were into. It wasn't any of their business to know. He moved the boxes to a corner and performed a couple of hand signs before there was a poof. Everything in the bedroom was packed away in the scroll. He placed it away in a pocket and came to the guest room (Sasuke's old room) and easily packed everything in there in another scroll. He moved into Keichi's room to see Sasuke closing the last box. Kakashi performed the needed jutsu and everything in this room was placed in a scroll, which he handed to Sasuke for safe keeping.
"Do you guys have a date set yet?" Sasuke asked.
"We are thinking of a spring wedding, around the time the cherry blossoms start to blossom." Sasuke nodded. "Of course, you and Naruto are invited." They moved into the front of the apartment to see Naruto closing the last box of dishes. Sakura seemed to be looking at photos on the wall instead of putting them away. "Any day now, Sakura," Kakashi said, scaring the girl back into reality. She quickly placed them in boxes, not being careful and breaking the glass and frame of one of the photos. She didn't seem to notice but the others did.
"I don't think they want you breaking their stuff, Sakura," Naruto said after Kakashi had sealed everything in another scroll that Naruto was tasked with holding on to.
Kakashi approached the box and pulled the photo from the box. It was a photo he knew Kagome treasured. It was the picture she gave birth to Keichi. Yes, she looked tired, but proud. Sasuke, Naruto, and Mikoto were in the photo with her. He slipped the photo into his book and shoved it into his back pouch. He would need to get a new frame for it before Kagome got home. He took over packing their memories in the box and soon had them all in a scroll. He handed it to Sasuke to hold on to.
"Let's go. I already told the land lady about us moving. I will drop the keys off after I pick up Kagome and Keichi." They nodded. "Sakura, stay back and make sure everything is cleaned up." She scowled but got to work, whispering complaints under her breath the whole time.
"So how do you feel about your mother being pregnant?" Naruto asked his boyfriend. It wasn't something they discussed in front of Sakura.
"With Itachi being unable to have anymore children and the illegitimate children he has, there isn't what the Uchiha elders consider an appropriate heir. I am out of the running because of my relationship with you." He nudged Naruto's shoulder. Neither of them were big on being affectionate in public. It was one of the things the citizens and other shinobi were not completely accepting of. Some were fine with it and others saw it as a sin. They didn't want to risk it, even if they were known to be in a relationship. They hadn't had any issues because they weren't affectionate in public. "I am happy for my mother though. She'll be ecstatic if the child turns out to be a girl." Naruto nodded. Mikoto was a sweet woman. She deserved happiness of her own.
They quickly made it to Kakashi's old house. They entered to see that everything was as they left it, if a little dusty. Naruto made quick work of the dust in the living room and Sasuke started moving things around. Once that was done the two started on the kitchen together while Kakashi swept his and Kagome's room before arranging everything. There was a bit of space left. He would find something to fill it later. He moved to one of the other rooms and swept before setting up the guest room. He finished sweeping the top floor and Sasuke made quick work of setting up Keichi's room. Naruto had managed to finish setting up the kitchen in that amount of time.
"We're all done," Kakashi said.
"We'll see you tomorrow," Sasuke said and the two left. He looked around. He would see about getting more furniture later. It was a bit bare, but he was fine with that. He moved towards the front of the house and left, locking the door behind him. He had spare keys for Keichi and Kagome in his pocket. Keichi's was on a miniature kunai key chain and he had placed Kagome's on a cherry blossom key chain. His had a dog key chain attached to it.
He was in ichraku ramen to eat lunch. Afterwards he would go to the hospital to pick up Kagome's old key and give her the new one. He would then go pick up Keichi from school and show him where the new house was and give him the key. He gave a silent prayer then dug into his noodles. He ate them in total silence and placed his payment on the counter before standing up and heading towards the hospital. He made it inside and headed towards Kagome's office, only to be stopped by one of the nurses. She was shamelessly flirting with him while he tried to make his escape. She just kept coming closer to him.
"I bet you look really hot under that mask. Can I get a peak?" She was moving closer to him but he kept evading her attempts at his mask. Everyone in Konoha knew he was involved with Kagome, so for this woman to be coming onto him this strongly either meant she had a death wish, she lived under a rock, or she really hated Kagome.
"Koi, what are you doing here?" His fiancee's voice said, saving him. She could see the uncomfortable look on his face.
"I came to grab your old house key and give you this one." He held up the key chain.
"Everything is all setup then?" He nodded as she handed over the old key and took hold of the new key. She smiled at it. "Are you going to come grab me after my day is done?"
"I'll meet you out front," he compromised.
"See you then." She tiptoed and placed a kiss on his cheek. "I love you, Kakashi." She patted his chest.
"I love you too." He had a smile on his face and he quickly vanished in a swirl of leaves to avoid getting molested by the nurse.
"Don't you have work you need to be doing?" She looked at the nurse that gave her a snide look.
"Don't you?" She spat back. It was no secret that this woman hated Kagome and would do anything in her power to make her miserable. Why else would she flirt with the copy nin?
"Kagome, the Hokage needs you to look over these," Shizuna said, handing over a folder.
"This way, Shizuna." She ignored the glare from the nurse and Shizuna followed her into her office. She looked in the file and smiled. "Everything looks set." She signed the paperwork inside and handed it back to Shizuna before looking at the papers in front of her. Shizuna made her way out of the office and Kagome quickly signed the papers in front of her and picked them up before heading out of her office. The nurse tried to shove her, but Kagome was stronger and sent her to the side slightly. She went down the stairs and into the head of the hospitals office after knocking. She placed the paperwork on the males desk and turned and walked out without another word. She would finish today out, but was done here after that.
