Raw: February 20, 2017
It felt weird being backstage at Monday Night Raw again, especially without Randy by my side. The Brand Split was made a heavily enforced rule when it came back last year, so nobody was usually allowed on the show that they weren't drafted on, with some exceptions made around Survivor Series. Randy and I had come to Raw to get some shots on Paul Heyman and Brock Lesnar last summer, and I had to talk my way into getting us out of trouble.
Tonight, however, was a much different situation. Last week, Bayley won the Raw Women's Championship from Charlotte. However, during the match, Charlotte was hit with Sasha Banks's crutch. Now, Charlotte and Stephanie wanted to make Bayley relinquish the championship.
Usually, I keep my nose out of business that doesn't concern me. However, I was allowed some jurisdiction in the Raw and NXT Women's divisions because I wasn't a part of them, and I wasn't allowing this injustice that Charlotte and Stephanie were wanting to happen.
When I heard about this from Mick Foley, I knew I couldn't let it happen. Now, here I am, showing up unannounced to Raw and righting a wrong.
I walked around as quietly and inconspicuously as I could until I found Raw General Manager Mick Foley's office. I knocked on the door.
"It's open." Mick says from inside his office.
I slowly open the door and walk in. "Hey, Mick."
Mick smiles. "Hey! What are you doing here?"
"Heard there were some issues with the Raw Women's Championship that needed to be settled without bias that Stephanie seems to be handing with bias. Here I am."
"Well, I'm glad you're here. Someone needs to get a handle on it."
"That's exactly what I plan to do. I understand the situation, and I know exactly how I'm going to handle it."
"That's good. Glad someone is here that is capable of stopping it. Stephanie overrules me, so I can't stop it. It's wrong though."
I smile at Mick. "I agree with you, but I think you knew exactly what you were doing when you called me."
"Maybe I did."
"I'm going to head out. Listen, you didn't know that's why I'm here."
"I never called you about it."
"What phone call?"
Mick laughs. "See you later."
"See ya later."
I slowly knock on the door of Sasha and Bayley's locker-room. Sasha quietly opens the door.
"Oh my gosh. Thank goodness. Come in." Sasha pulls me inside.
I look at Bayley as the door closes behind me. "Sasha, how long has she been like this?"
"A few days honestly."
Bayley turns around to look at me. "Oh hey, Rissa. What are you doing here?"
I smile. "What do you think I'm doing here? I'm here to help with your problem."
"There's no need. I'm going to hand over the Raw Women's Championship."
Sasha shakes her head. "Bayley, stop."
"It'll stop the problem. That's what Stephanie wants. I didn't win clean last week."
Sasha looks at me. "Please, talk some sense into her."
"You're not handing over the Raw Women's Championship, Bayley." I say. "Absolutely not."
"Why not?" Bayley asks.
"Listen, it might be a tainted victory, but you still won. Charlotte knows that you hate that and is trying to use it to her advantage. She also knows that she's one of Stephanie's favorites, so she got Stephanie to side with her. Take your victory. Honestly, who doesn't have a tainted victory somewhere? Sometimes, you gotta stand your ground against some people that are your friends outside of the ring because they're not your friend inside the ring. What Charlotte and Stephanie are trying to get you to do is wrong. Mick Foley knows he can't stop it, but he knows it too. That's why he called me. I can use my jurisdiction to stop it. I won't allow them to do that to you. I'm here to help."
"Do they know you're here?"
"Colby said that he'd cover and say I'm here to see him."
"Remind me to thank him later."
"Will do. Now, listen, this is what we're going to do."
I watch from guerilla with Sasha as Bayley is in the ring. "I think she has more integrity than most of the rest of us."
Sasha nods. "I agree. Your sister just entered guerilla with Charlotte trailing."
I roll my eyes. "Of course. Just like I suspected they would. Bayley knows what to do."
"I know. She'll be fine. I'm just excited to see Stephanie be put in her place."
"I'm excited to do it."
Stephanie heads to the ring to interrupt Bayley.
"Be ready to head out there yourself, Sasha." I whisper.
"I am." She replies.
Stephanie holds her hands out to take the Raw Women's Championship from Bayley. Sasha heads to the ring. Stephanie accuses Sasha of being in Bayley's business. Bayley declares that she's not giving up the Raw Women's Championship. I smile to myself.
("Recognition" plays)
Charlotte walks out onto the ramp with a microphone. "Ms. McMahon, I would really like to apologize on behalf of the entire women's division for these two ingrates being so disrespectful."
I roll my eyes as I grab a microphone and head towards the curtain. "Play my music."
I know I want that girl so bad
I lie awake at night
And think of all the things that I would do
With a girl like that…
I walk past Charlotte as she looks at me. I smile to myself as I hear the loud pop from the crowd.
I enter the ring. "Okay. Let me settle all of this right now. Charlotte, how much do you kiss Stephanie's ass? Really? Anyway, Steph, you can stop being a manipulative bitch now because this isn't happening. You see since I don't compete in the Raw and NXT Women's Divisions, I am the highest level of authority for those divisions. So this whole thing with Bayley relinquishing the Raw Women's Championship to Charlotte due to a tainted victory, quite frankly, is bullshit. Steph, we both know what this really is. Bayley isn't one of your favorite people, and Charlotte kisses your ass. You're using this whole tainted victory thing as an excuse. This is how I'm settling this. Charlotte, you can have your rematch at Fastlane. Steph, don't give me another reason to have to show up here personally or I'm going to raise hell. As for now, Charlotte, you're in ring gear. You can have a match against Sasha right now. Problem solved. Steph, stop trying to be a manipulative bitch."
I exit the ring and head backstage as the bell rings for Sasha and Charlotte's match.
Stephanie follows me backstage. "What the hell?"
I smile. "Listen, I would stay to have this chat with you, but I have better things to do."
"Like what?"
"My husband. See you around." I exit guerilla and head straight out the door to leave.
