When we get down to Atlanta, we head to an old Chrysler Plymouth building that the unit is set up in, it's so old the 'CH' on the building had fallen off. When we get there Ford gets out and looks up to the sign on the building, "They've got their own building."

Tench chuckles, "who else would want it?"

When we walk in we can hear an officer telling a story, "Guy knocks on the door, wearing a police cap, says he's a cop. Oldest trick in the book, right? His accomplice, a woman, now she's disguised as a man." The men chuckle, "right? Now they chloroform the mother…"

I shake my head and stop listening to the man, looking around at the lack of officers or really anything. "Not a lot of tasking at the task force." I sigh.

"Holden. Nancy." I hear Barney call out to us, looking up and seeing him come down the stairs.

"Jim." I smile. "Good to see you. You on this full-time now?"

"They needed a liaison before you got down here. I was up to speed. The only volunteer." Barney shrugs. "Agent Tench."

"Bill." Tench extends a hand. "Nice to see you again, Jim. What are we walking into here?"

"A lot of sitting, waiting. This place literally got set up a week ago."

"No expense spared." I chuckle and glance around.

Barney nods, "I brought the Mr. Coffee. Feels more like a political response."

"Because it is." I shrug.

Tench nods, "we're meant to stay in the background."

"What about this latest kid?"

"the ransom call's supposed to come in at 6 p.m. we were getting briefed by the case agent. He got a little sidetracked." Barney gestures over to the man telling the story. "I'll introduce you." I take a deep breath before we walk over to the table with the four men, "Sorry to interrupt. I want you to meet Agents Tench, Ford, and Freeman from Quantico. This is Ken Robbins from the Memphis Office."

Robbins chuckles, "the basement boys. Well, you know it's serious when they come down form the country club. You boys bring you clubs? You clearly brought your dame. This will all be over by eight o'clock. Maybe make an early tee time tomorrow morning."

Ford walks over to the board they have set up and the very little information they have on it, "This is where he was taken?"

Robbins turns to Ford, "no, it's where the call's supposed to come in. we'll set up an hour before. Keep all vehicles away from the house in case he's watching. Three units ready to respond in the vicinity. The rest will cover major access roads, here and here." Robbins gets up and poaints to a few places on the map.

I shake my head, "where was he taken?"

"He'd been kicked out of a pool in Lakewood. Here." Barney points to the map, "For roughhousing. Last place he was seen."

"Broad daylight." Ford nods.

Robbins sits back down, "Most likely, the kid just wandered off. Could even be a runaway. Regardless, it's doubtful this is a kidnapping."

I clear my throat and put my hands together in front of my mouth for a moment, "I'm gonna say this as politely as possible." I take a deep breath, "we don't get ransom calls when a child runs away."

"Two-hundred-dollars ransom? This is opportunistic extortion at best."

"Two hundred dollar ransom?" Tench shakes his head. "Let us know if you come up short." the group chuckles.

Ford and I walk away, going over a file, I roll my eyes, "Looks like they really did a lot of legwork on this one."

Ford looks over to Barney, "do you have the files on the others?"

"I can walk you through what I know." Barney shrugs, "we've got a little time."

I shrug, "better then nothing."

"The safety commissioner's coming by this afternoon. He's the mayor's right hand. He wants to meet the FBI."

Tench sighs, "Well, at least we'll look like we're doing somethin'."

I sigh and shake my head, "how can they act they that with a child missing." I glare over to Robbins and the three other officers.

"Easy, Nance." Ford rubs my shoulder. "We are here for a reason."

I shake my head, "No we're not."

"What do you mean?"

"Do you know what a Harlequin is?"

Tench shrugs, "A clown in bad makeup?"

"A Harlequin's role to serve. An audience, a master." I shake my head and chuckle, "a harlequin is nothing without a master." I take a deep breath, "and no one gives two fucks we are, beyond that."

"You know she's right." Ford nods.

Soon we here Robbins walk over to us, "You know, we got a little time, why don't I give little miss here a boxing lesson."

Ford steps forward and puts a hand to Robbin's chest, "not gonna happen my friend."

I glance over to Tench and smirk. Tench chuckles, "come on, Holden. One lesson can't hurt."

"Yeah." Robbins nods, "no big deal kid. I teach some hand to hand in Memphis."

Tench nods, "alright, just don't hurt her."

Ford looks over to Tench, "are you sure?"

Tench nods, "just watch, Holden."

I kick my heels off and walk over to Robbins, I have to say today is one day I'm kind of sad I wear a dress, but if I can kick his ass, I don't really care. Robbin smirks down to me, "you every box before?"

I nod, "i have, yes."

"What, like, the Tae Bo? Booty Boot Camp? Crunch? Something like that?" I clear my throat as Robbins chuckles.

I hear Ford talking to Tench, "i just don't feel comfortable with this." I glance back to him.

"Rule number one, never take your eyes off your opponent." Robbins goes to take a swing. I grab his hand, and flip him over, legs over his head.

"Oh, my God!" One of the other officers shouts.

"That's what I'm talking about." Tench laughs.

"I just slipped." Robbins gets up, as do I.

"You did?"

Robbins bods, clearly in a little bit of pain, "yeah."

"Looks like a TKO to me."

I walk over to Tench Barney giving them a high five, before Ford pulls me into a hug, "that was amazing!"
