"... I... Is this... a dream?" Dub asked quietly as Kronin AKA Prof Membrane stands up weakly and looks at him with shock.
"... I... I was going to ask the same question..." Membrane admitted to his son.
"... Why-Why do you look like this?!" Dib asked, "Why didn't you recognise me?! Do you know what the hell is going on and is what Oleander told me is true?!"
"... I... give me a moment... just... a moment... please..." Membrane begged him, which his son nods as the homunculus sits down on his chair and takes a deep breath, "... Wh... where do I begin...? First... my appearance..."
"Yea, let's start with that," Dib agreed.
"... The reason I look like this... is because I'm homunculus now," Membrane told him.
"... Like that anime, Full metal-"
"No! Do not make a reference or else we'll be copyrighted, my son!" Membrane yelled at him, which both frighten and confused him at the same time, "Sorry... ahem, well... it's... basically, more human-like zombies that have been revived by magic,"
"Ah... got it..." Dib understood quickly.
"... And that means... I'm bound to my 'master'... AKA Ate, the goddess of mischief..."
"What?! That goddess?!" Dib shouted.
"Be quiet or else she'll come!" Membrane told him off.
"... Anyways... yes, that goddess," Membrane confirmed, "After... I was killed and just before the Kasai war started, I was revived by Ate herself... and she erases all of my memories while keeping my... 'past self' as a other personality,"
"... So that's why you didn't recognise me..." Dib said, "Your... memories were erased..."
"Exactly... and now... when you mentioned Oleander... I have a feeling he told you some... messed up stuff..."
"... He did," Dib confirmed his suspicion.
"I knew it!" Membrane said loudly, "Oh... sorry... a bit of a habit... anyways, what he said... is true..."
"... T-that can't be true..." Dib denied it.
"... It's true... before you was created... I... I was very unhinged... and even that, it was a understatement," Membrane told him, "As a child... I love experimenting, so I started out with just toys... and then I started using small animals like cats, rats and other animals... and then, during my twenties, I started kidnapping people, mostly children..."
"... Oh god..." Dib muttered in shock.
"... Later, I got hit by a car accident, which lead me into coma for a bit, and when I woke up, I have amnesia," Membrane continued to explain, "After that, I settled a more normal lifestyle where I met a woman named Tia Scarlet, later married her and have a son... named Oleander..."
"... And then you got your memories back a couple years later..." Dib said.
"Yes... and Ate was the one who brought my memories back," Membrane told him, "... who happened to be Imperative Pureness AKA Rebecca, as you know her..."
"... What?!" Dib shouted, "But... after... but... she... she raised me... she... she was like a mother I never had..."
Dib started to tear up, feeling much betrayed and even more confused with conflicted feelings.
"... I know it's hard, but... bear with me..." Membrane explained.
"..." Dib nodded and continued to listen.
"... After what I did to Oleander and Tia... I ran away with Ate and we have worked a plan... to do... something..." Membrane bites his lips awkwardly.
"... Something...?"
"She... never told me her goals, honestly, at least... I don't think she did..." Membrane told him, "Anyways, all she told me is to create a Host EX for her, as well as the Alter units... and you..."
"... I... what..." Dib muttered in shock as his eyes dulls down.
"... Yes... you... you're an artificial human..." Membrane told him, "I know you're deeply in shock, but... after I created you and Gaz... I... I grown attached to you guys and took you guys away from Ate... which greatly angered her..."
"... Is that why... you were killed... ten years ago?" Dib asked.
"... Yes... Rebecca AKA Ate... was the one who killed me..." Membrane told him. "And the one who kidnapped your sister,"
"Wait! Gaz is still alive?!" Dib asked in shock.
"... my memories are still a little fuzzy, but yes," Membrane said, "That I can be sure of, but... it's most likely Ate put her in a area with top-notched security..."
"... Wait, would Ate's throne room be the perfect place to hide her?" Dib asked, "Especially what might be behind that throne of her?"
"Possibly, who knows?" Membrane admitted.
"Why are you so unsure?!"
"... Well... while I regained my memories prior to my death... my memories after my resurrection are a bit fuzzy on some details..." Membrane admitted. "So... sorry if I ended up leaving some important details..."
"... I... I understand..."
"Thank you..." Membrane thanked him, "After that... I... I have to make sure you two never see Ate again, which is why... why I tried to discourage you from doing the paranormal..."
"... Because... you're worried I might find out the truth..." Dib said.
"... Yes, and I tried so hard to redeem myself as I become one of greatest scientists, but... at the cost of my relationship with you two," Membrane said with a bit of regret in his tone, "I... thinking back... I should have gone into hiding instead of becoming famous, but I guess a small part of me still loves experimenting and I so badly want to redeem myself by becoming a great scientist..."
"... Yea... you should have..." Dib replied, "Then none of this shit would happen! Everything would have been normal!"
"... I know... and I know apologising isn't going to erase the past..." Membrane told him.
"... Since you were revived before the Kasai war... what happened there...?" Dib asked, "Because... my memories are basically empty as I was sometimes called Kasai hero, while literally every Japanese out there hates me... as I... I have strange nightmares about... killing their emperor..."
"... That's true..." Membrane confirmed, "Y... Ate brainwashed you into killing as many soldiers as possible... as well as killing Emperor Tomi..."
"... No..." Dib gasped in shock, "But... why... why..."
"If I remember correctly... Ate brought you to me while you were unconscious and I was told to erase your memories of the Kasai war..." Membrane told him.
"... I... I..."
"... If I remember what she told me... she... she said you nearly committed suicide, but she stopped you from you could take your own life..." Membrane told him.
"..." Dib is very speechless, not knowing how to react or say as he just looks down on the ground.
"... I know it's very difficult but... oh shit..." Membrane swore as he looks in panic.
"Wha-what?!"
"I-I can sense Ate is coming!" Membrane said, "Look, I have so many things I need to tell you, but I can't right now since once Ate realised I regained my memories... she'll erase me from my body, so you have to go before she realised what's going on!"
"... I... I..."
"Here, take this!" Membrane said as he gives a black cloak, "This is an invisibility cloak, this will help you greatly as all you have to do is put it on!"
"O-Okay," Dib replied as he quickly grabs the cloak and puts it under his coat before the two heard the door opened.
"Professor Kronin... what's going on?" Ate asked as she enters the room normally.
"I-Oh... hello Imperatriz Pureness," Membrane replied, trying to act as normal while turning his back away from her, "I'm just here to give Dib a new arm after he got into a brutal fight with a gang,"
"Y-yeah!" Dib lied to her.
"Oh dear... that's horrible... it... it must have been painful," Ate said in a surprisingly genuine tone.
"Y...yea... I... I should go now... b... bye..." Dib said awkwardly, trying to hold back the tears and anger as he quickly runs out of the lab.
"...Professor, why are you turning your back on me?" Ate asked coldly.
"... Oh... no reason..." Membrane replied in fear.
"..." Ate raised an eyebrow as she walks closer to him and turns the chair around, in which Membrane quickly tackles her down in panic, "AHHH!"
"You're not erasing me alive, you sadistic monster!" Membrane yelled at her after he tackles her and runs towards the door.
"T-That's rich, coming from you!" Ate yelled back as she quickly uses her whip to grabs him by the leg, which works, "Good..."
Ate takes a deep breath as she stands up and walks up to Membrane, who is upside down.
"... You honestly think you can escape from a goddess?"
"..."
"That's what I thought... now, did you tell Dib the truth...?"
"..."
"...You did... didn't you?" Ate asked as she steps back a bit as she drops Membrane on the floor, and then she grabs Membrane by the collar, "You told him, didn't you?!"
"...Naturally... someone has to stop your megalomaniac plans!" Membrane replied, in which Ate starts strangling him.
"You... you bastard!" Ate screamed at him, "At first, I was going to just erase your memories like last time... but now... I'll just erase your personality then..."
"GAAAHHHH!" Membrane gagged in pain as Ate uses her other hand.
"Don't move, that's an order!" Ate ordered him, which he sadly reluctantly complied, "Good... glad you're willing to listen since I am your master after all,"
"...Fuck... you..."
"Now, is that what you say to someone who revived you from the dead?" Ate asked with a small smile, "Listen... I know you want me dead, trust me, I want to be dead too, but let's not get ahead of ourselves,"
"...Grr... I honestly pity you," Membrane muttered.
"...Same, though sadly... your life is cut short...my apologise, well it was nice working with you while it lasted," Ate said to him as her free hand glows purple, "Don't worry, after you worked for me, I'll make sure your 'death' is quick and painless... bye... partner..."
Ate puts her hand on Membrane's forehead and his eyes closed as Ate lets him go while taking a deep breath.
"...Sorry Membrane... but sometimes... you have to make the hardest choices... in order to achieve something in life..." Ate muttered with a cold, almost ashamed looking expression, "I...I'm deeply sorry Membrane... but... I... I have to do it to avoid making the same mistake later on,"
"HA HA HA!" 'Membrane' laughed manically, as he opens his eyes, revealing his lively red eyes with cat-like pupils as he quickly gets up, "What's wrong, pussy-cat? You're being mopey again!"
"...Oh shut up Kronin, you're basically devoid of regrets and guilt!" Ate told him off.
"Oh, I'm sorry, but I don't speak the language of the complicated people... like YOU!" Kronin insulted her.
"...Fuck you," Ate said as she gives him a middle finger.
"Damn! I guess you actually can throw some shades back... I guess..." Kronin replied, "Well, I'm glad to have full control of this body now! I can do all type of shit as I fucking want!"
"...Yea... I'm just gonna leave..." Ate said as she leaves the room, "...I already regret my decision..."
(Meanwhile with Dib)
Dib, while wearing the cloak, runs through the rain as he quickly hides behind the alleyway.
"..." Dib looks down as he starts crying as he sits down, not caring if he dirtied his cloak or clothes, "...I... Rebecca... the one who I see as a family... was the one who ruined my family... and everything else... I... Zim was right... he was right about SEG... I... it's already bad enough that I ruined so many lives without even realising... I... I don't know what to do... all I could do... is just move on..."
Dib slowly stands up while crying and takes a deep breath as he wipes his tears with his hand. "...Now... I have to find Lily and Min-Jung... I... sorry Rebecca... no... Fuck you Rebecca for betraying me... now... it's my turn... to betray you..."
(Back with Lily and Min-Jung)
"... Prof Kronin... is actually Prof Membrane?!" Lily asked in actual shock tone as well as showing a shock expression.
"Yep!" Min-Jung replied, "Trust me, girl, I'm just as surprised as you are, right now,"
"... I see..." Lily replied, "... So many things have happened for the past few days..."
"Yeah... no kidding there," Min-Jung said, "Hey... remember when we first met?"
"... Why did you bring that up?" Lily asked her.
"Just trying to think of a new topic to ease up," Min-Jung answered her.
"... Well... yes, I have remembered..." Lily said, "... I... I was being picked on by some girls until you and Fiona came in and stopped them while Dib got involved where he sends them to the principal's office,"
"Yep!" Min-Jung replied, "Correct! Glad to know you actually remember!"
"... Yes... you... you told me you dealt with a lot of pressure and racism back in the academy before you met me, right?" Lily asked.
"... Ugh..." Min-Jung sighed, "Sadly yeah... stupid humans always stereotyping us as savages when we're just natural born hunters and honourable fighters, not a pack of bandits wanting to eat people, heck, I don't think human meat sounds tasty at all! Of course, you're a good human, but sadly... well... you know,"
"Yes... it is quite unfortunate that a lot of humans see werewolves as monsters that are bound to attack at any moment," Lily said, "Though thankfully new laws acts happened and it would seem it has toned down a lot,"
"That's true," Min-Jung said, "Though, I wish those laws came in a little sooner than later,"
"... Yeah..."
"Combined that with the pressure to be the strongest of all werewolves since I'm the Chief's daughter, it makes it very stressful," Min-Jung admitted, "Oi, at least I only have to focus on being the strongest, but I don't have to be the smartest, at least,"
"... That would explain why you're terrible at Maths and Science," Lily mocked her.
"H-Hey! Those are very difficult and complicated to understand, okay?!" Min-Jung yelled at her while blushing out embarrassed, which makes Lily chuckles a bit, "W-wait!? Did you just chuckle?!"
"...N...No..." Lily lied while blushing a bit.
"Awe, you're finally becoming more emotional!"
"S...shut up..." Lily told her off.
"...Well...well... well... is it isn't... Lily and Min-Jung..."
Lily and Min-Jung turns away from each other and sees Fiona walking towards them while holding her spear. They notice her eyes are glowing red, which they quickly stand up as Min-Jung readies her claws and Lily takes out her duel blades, then she combines it into a bow and aims her arrow at the princess.
"...So... you're not going to let me kill you... Lily...?" Fiona asked coldly.
"Snap out of it, Fiona!" Lily told her off, "This isn't you at all!"
"...He...hehe... ha ha ha ha..." Fiona starts laughing, "Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!"
"F...Fiona..." Lily startled by her sudden outburst.
"Oh Lily... tHiS iS Me..." Fiona spoked in a very creepy manner, "It's just that I hide it so well that not even Dib is aware of it..."
"...Well... if you're not gonna snap out of it, then we have to beat the living shit of you, then!" Min-Jung shouted at her.
"...Hehe... I like to see you... try!" Fiona shouted as she charges at Lily.
"Ah!" Lily gasped, in which Min-Jung rushes to Fiona and tackles her down.
"Ahhh!" Fiona screamed as Min-Jung turns her head while holding her down.
"Run, Lily! Run like the wind, Lily!" Min-Jung shouted.
"Really?! At a time like this!?" Lily groaned in shock, "You have to make a reference to-"
"Just shut up and g-" Suddenly, Fiona kicks her in the stomach so hard that she feels intense agony in her stomach, "Fuck!"
Min-Jung rolls over to the side as Fiona picks up her spear, stands up and charges at Lily again, who quickly does a backflip jump and shoots out arrows at her while the sky, which Fiona spins around her spear, deflecting the arrows.
Lily lands safely and turns her bow into blades, which Fiona charges at her again and clashes their weapons together.
"Please Fiona, wake up!" Lily begged her.
"... You have no right to tell me what to do," Fiona replied coldly, which Lily's eyes widen in shock.
"F...Fiona..." Lily muttered as the elf backs down and thrusts her spear at her head, which the young woman moves her head to the right while being in shock.
Lily rolls over and points her blades at her.
"Why... I... why aren't you fighting back against the brainwashing!?" Lily asked rashly.
"Simple... because I. Fucking. Hate. You..." Fiona told her.
"...I... I..." Lily becomes even more shock, "W...Why...?"
"Because... you stole him... you backstabbing whore!" Fiona shouted at her as she stomps her feet to the ground, which a small boulder comes out of the ground and floats, "Now... die, you useless piece of shit!"
Fiona telepathically throws the boulder at Lily, which she closes her eyes until she heard a crushing noise, which she slowly opens her eyes and...
"...Drei!?"
Drei strikes down the boulder into pieces with her Alter arrows as the Alter unit floats in front of Lily.
"...Get out of my way, you toy!" Fiona shouted at her, but just when she was about to move, she suddenly feels cold on her leg, which she looks down and notices her feet got frozen, "Wh-what?!"
"Run!" Harumi screamed where she is carried by Leo and carries her wand, "Drei! Please!"
Drei nods and carries Lily away from the sky.
"O-Oi! S-I...Ahhhhhh!" Lily screamed in panic, "I-What's going on?!" "Why does Fiona hate me?! what's going on?! I don't know anything anymore... I... I have to calm down before I completely lose it!"
Fiona growls as she sees Lily carried away by Drei and glares at the young girl with the large cybernetic orc.
"I'll gonna kill you-!" Fiona suddenly got frozen entirely, which Harumi smirks as Leo lets her go and puts her deadly weapon behind her back.
"Nope!" Harumi joked as she runs up to Min-Jung, "You okay?"
"Yeah... if you considered getting kicked so hard that you think your insides are destroyed is okay..." Min-Jung joked while still in agonising pain, "Damn... now I feel embarrassed... fuck..."
"Don't worry, we'll take you back to EKO base," Leo told her, "After all, we need to hurry before we become the princess' barbeque!"
Min-Jung nods in agreement as Leo carries her up in a bridal manner and runs away along with Harumi.
"Oh god... I hope Lily gonna be okay..." Min-Jung thought worriedly.
(Meanwhile)
Ate saw everything through the security camera and sighs, which she turns around.
"If you want something done right.. you have to do it yourself..." Ate thought as she teleported out.
Lily managed to calm down while Drei is carrying her through the sky, which stops raining.
"... Drei... do you know... what's going on?"
Drei stayed silent with a strange, sorrowful look in her eyes, which Lily noticed.
"So, you do know what's going on...?" Lily realised, which Drei just shrugs, "So... do you know about the Vessel EX?"
Drei's eyes widen a bit in shock, which Lily caught on.
"So you do know about her..." Lily said, which Drei decides to fly to the nearest building and landed there.
Suddenly, Drei heard her earpiece ringing, so she picks it up, which shows a hologram of Tori.
"Oi! Why did you stop!?" Tori asked harshly, "You know if you stop, Ate and her stupid allies might have found you, right?"
"..." Drei didn't say anything and takes a notebook, which she writes down and shows it to Tori, which says, 'She wants to know about my big sister AKA the Vessel EX,"
"... And how comes I'm just finding out now...?" Tori asked with her hands on her hips, which Drei writes again.
'Too many things happening, so I couldn't find the right time.' Drei wrote.
"... I see... well, tell her when you bring her back to our base, okay?" Tori told her, "It's not safe here!"
Drei nods, which Tori smiled.
"Good, now, I'll be going now, bye," Tori said before the hologram disappears.
"I guess we should keep moving, then," Lily said, which Drei nods as she walks towards her... until Drei rushes to push Lily out of the way as a purple energy ball was blasted to the ground as the two fell off the building.
Drei quickly gains her composure and rushes to save Lily from falling. Drei lands safely as she slowly puts Lily on the ground as she notices Ate floating down to the ground.
"..." Drei glares at Ate.
"...Aww, is that the look you should be giving to your own mother?" Ate asked coldly.
"M-mother?" Lily asked in confusion.
"Technically... as she is one of the many clones of the original template, who is sort of my clone as well as a certain someone else," Ate explained. "Now... Drei... I do not want to hurt you, so I will give you two choices,"
"Grr..." Drei growled at her.
"You can go back to EKO alive while I take Lily... or you can die protecting her... pick wisely?" Ate told her, which Drei stays put and takes out her Alter arrows, making Ate sighs of disappointment, "I see... so you choose the hard way... I was honestly hoping I wouldn't have to kill you as you are technically one of my children, but... I guess it can't be helped I guess..."
Ate summons her two whips, which she shapeshifted the tip to a blade, and charges at Drei, who has her arrows shield her, until a dark energy strikes at Ate, who deflects the ball to a nearby building.
"Welcome to the fight... Zim..." Ate said as Zim walks up to the woman with his shadow claw out and then, rushes to her as he prepares to kill her.
"Ate!" Zim screamed with rage as he slashes down, but the goddess quickly uses a magic shield to deflect his attack, which works as he fell to the ground and she uses another whip to impale Zim right on the stomach, causing Lily to take out her bow and starts shooting her arrows at her, which Ate blocks out very easily as if it's nothing to her.
"Zim!" Drei screamed, catching everyone off guard and shock except Ate.
"...No..." Zim muttered as he remembers something...
(Flashback)
"In that case, if Drei's first word happens to be 'Zim' as well, then it proves my theory," Tori said, "It would prove that the Alter units...are all strongly connected to Gaz Membrane, Dib's long-lost younger sister."
(Flashback ends)
"That would mean..." Zim thought in shock until... he sees something he wishes he never see, "Drei!""Huh?" Drei asked as she suddenly felt a sharp pain on her stomach, which she slowly looks down... and sees she was pierced through the stomach by Ate's Nightmare bringer, whip of pain, "N...No..."
"Drei!" Lily screamed in shock as she quickly puts away her weapon while rushing to Drei while Ate, with a frown and a face that looks as if she deeply regrets it, pulls out the whip as Drei collapsed to the floor.
(Meanwhile)
"No!" Tori screamed at the screen in panic and tearing up, "N... I have to save her... I... I have to! I can't let her die!"
She quickly grabs her radio and screamed, "Drei! D-Don't worry! I'll repair you as quickly as possible, okay?! Everything will be okay!"
(Back with the others)
"N...No... wait..." Drei begged her as she was held by Lily, "I... I...I need to... tell Zim... I... I..."
"You can tell him after I save you!" Tori said.
"...N... ahh... sorry... big sis... and Zim" Drei apologised to the duo, which caught Lily off-guard and speechless as Drei was quickly teleported out of the battlefield.
"...B...Big... sis...?" Lily muttered as she quickly connects the dots... and her eyes become dulled out in horror, "N...No..."
"So, big sis, huh?... That would only mean one thing..." Ate realised as she glares at her and slowly walks to her, "I'm glad you actually survived that bombing during the Kasai war... Artemis..."
"..." Lily becomes even speechless, realising the hard truth as she slowly looks at Ate, "T...that would mean...I..."
"That you're my daughter, in a way, yes," Ate answered her, "As well as a prototype and the very first clone of Gazlene Membrane... Dib's younger sister..."
"What?!" Zim screamed in shock, "N... you used Gaz as your fucking template!?"
"...And here I thought you don't care about humans much," Ate pointed out as she twists the blade a bit, causing him a bit more pain.
"Ahhh!" Zim screamed a bit.
"Zim!" Lily screamed, but she was suddenly wrapped around with the whip, which started to glow, "Ah-Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh!"
Lily screamed in agony as her eyes glow purple and her duel blades starting to let out purple smoke.
"...Looks like the Empyrean bow is reaching its limit," Ate said, "If you don't know, the deadly weapon's function is to keep the owner's emotions and, in your case, true powers at bay, same goes for Dib's Deadly weapon, Salvation armour, but... in a different way,"
"Ah-Ahhhhhhhh!" Lily cried in pain as she starts crying as the physical and mental pain starts to become too unbearable for her to handle to the point her eyes are starting to go reddish due to the amount of crying she's doing.
"Y...You bitch!" Zim shouted at her.
"...Yea... I'm... a bitch... whatever," Ate muttered and shrugged as she starts laughing at him, "How does it feel, Zimmy? Seeing your little girlfriend like this?"
"I...I fucking hate you!" Zim screamed at her.
"If you truly want to 'save' her, which is impossible at this point," Ate told him, "Meet me at the roof of SEG HQ... we'll be waiting,"
Ate teleports herself and Lily as soon as she takes out the blade off of Zim, which he sits up and punches the ground.
"Damn it!" Zim shouted, "I'm really... really... going to fucking kill you, Ate! You'll see!"
A/N – Lily is actually Gaz's clone?! Well, that isn't a big surprise if you pay attention, but the bigger surprise would be that Ate is technically Lily's mother.
