Bella's POV
"Edwarddddd!" I whined for the tenth time this hour.
"what?" He replied wide eyed and innocent.
"I saw you swipe another jumper from my case. Put. It. Back." I demanded giving him the best stern look I could muster up.
It was Sunday evening and I was currently packing my case to go with me back to New York tomorrow morning. But Edward was stalling the process by swiping clothes out when I had my back turned.
"Fine" he grumbled placing my cream Chanel jumper back in its place.
He rolled over to his back and crossed his arms over his chest looking at me with a small pout. I let out a small laugh as I walked over to him and lay on top of him pecking his nose playfully.
"I'll be back before you know it Edward" I said softly as his arms opened and wrapped around my body, hugging me tightly to his warm chest. I breathed him in deeply. Gosh I was going to miss him too.
"I will miss you every second you're away from me. My heart will be with you."
"My heart will be here with you too" I replied looking into his eyes which were tinged with sadness.
We shared a moment of silence before the bedroom door swung open and Emmett barged in and broke the piece and quiet.
"Well what do we have here? Are Bella and Edward having a cuddle party? Without moi!"
Before I had a chance to roll off of Edward, Emmett's huge bulk consumed us both as he wrapped his arms around both Edward and I.
"Emmett!" Edward and I both shouted at the same time.
"Rosie! Come join the cuddle party!" He shouted out refusing to let either of us go.
Rosalie came through the bedroom door and stood staring at us a bemused and playful look on her face.
"Emmett Mccarty what are you doing?" She asked unable to contain her laughter at her Fiancé.
"I'm having a cuddle party with Eddie and Bellarina, come get in with us there's plenty more Emmett to share."
Rose stood for two seconds before she giggled and jumped on the bed snuggling in behind me as Emmett stretched his bear like arms around her too.
"I'm going to miss this" I said as we all hugged each other in a tangle of limbs.
"Me too Bella. Who is going to help me control Emmett while you're away?" Rose sniffed.
"Alice?" I laughed lightly as my eyes began watering again.
"Don't worry Rosie, I will be spending time with Eddie here while Bellarina is gone, need to make sure he doesn't become a hermit while she's away."
"Oh god... Don't leave me with him please" Edward groaned into my neck holding me tightly as Rose and I laughed.
"Now Edward is that anyway to talk to your future family" Emmett said in a High pitched voice.
"I trust you to look after him Emmett" I said confidently patting his overly large bicep.
"Thank you Bellarina, if I leave him to his own devices he'll be wallowing at his piano every day you are away."
"No I wouldn't" Edward protested.
Rose, Emmett and I all looked at each other and laughed before saying together...
"Yes you would!"
...
All to soon Monday morning rolled around and Edward and I were currently on the way to the airport. My hand had been clasped in his the whole journey. His thumb rubbing circles on the back of my hand in a soothing motion.
I opened my bag once more and checked through all my documents to make sure I hadn't forgotten anything. I knew I hadn't I'd opened and shut my bag around one hundred times in the past two hours.
"Hey, are you okay?" Edward asked softly lifting my hand to his lips pressing a soft kiss on the back.
"Yes, I'm just nervous I guess."
"About flying?"
"No, being back in New York. Seeing familiar faces and my family." I replied honestly.
"Do your parents know you're coming back today?"
"Yes. I told my dad I would be back this week. Which means he told my mom. Then my mom would have told her friends, who would of demanded we have lunches and dinners and everything else that goes along with being somebody worth knowing."
"If you get stressed or start feeling too overwhelmed you call me okay? Any time I'll pick up and answer. I don't care if it is the middle of the night. If you need me call me."
"Thank you. I love you."
"I love you too."
We remained quiet for the rest of the journey. We arrived at the airport a short time later. Edward helped me with my bags and walked me through to the departures lounge where he had to leave me.
"I'm going to miss you" I told him as we clung to each other tightly.
"Me too love, more than you'll ever know. It's ten days. Ten days and I will be right back here waiting for you to come out of the arrivals door." He told me wiping away a stray tear that had betrayed me.
I reached up and pulled him in for a deep passionate kiss embracing the moment before I knew I must let him go. Every fibre of my body remembering each detail of how he feels.
Stepping back I stood up tall and looked at him.
"I'm going to go now before I refuse to step on the plane. I'm going to walk away and wave to you and we are going to stay strong for ten measly days. Okay." I laughed. Why were we both acting like we would never see each other again? Remember what Esme said, home will always be waiting.
I lifted my suitcase and began wheeling it away from him. As I got to the gates I turned and waved at Edward. His smile lit up his face as he waved back and blew me a kiss. I mouthed 'I love you' to him as he did it back.
...
"Welcome ladies and Gentleman to JFK airport, I hope you enjoyed your flight with us today."
I stretched out my aching limbs as the air hostess welcomed us back into New York. I tried to sleep as much as I could during the flight so I was fresh for the remainder of the day.
Making my way off the plane and through the terminal I by passed luggage pickup opting only for carry on luggage during my trip knowing I had plenty of clothes still in my apartment. If there was any part of this trip I was looking forward too was being back to my own personal safe haven.
Hailing a taxi took all of two minutes and before I knew it I was making way back through the bustling streets. New York never changed. It never sleeps. I wished Edward and the rest of my new family were here with me to experience the daily life. I knew Alice secretly wanted to crawl into my case so she could come see this place for herself. I made a mental note to book a trip as soon as possible. Maybe Rose's hen party?
As the taxi lulled up outside of my apartment complex I hopped out quickly, paid and thanked the driver and pulled my case towards the door.
"Bella! Welcome home, how was your trip?" George the doorman asked brightly.
"It was wonderful! Thank you. I'm hoping to be back as soon as business is taken care of." I replied smiling at him as I made my way towards the elevator.
"From the sounds of that statement a man is involved."
"Yes a very wonderful man I am eager to return too."
Heading up to my apartment I took a moment to myself. I felt myself sinking straight back into city life. My body mentally and physically prepared for the different pace of life.
Once inside my place I left my case near the front door and pulled off my flats, walking barefoot across the wooden floor I threw myself down into my faux fur bean bag which was in front of my floor length city view window. I had to admit I did miss this view. As much every part of my being craved to be back in the small town of Forks, my heart still was in awe of what this city had to offer.
Pulling out my phone I scrolled through my phone till I reached the number I wanted.
"Hi love" Edward's velvety voice spoke.
"Hey, you. Just thought I would check in to make sure you're not missing me too much yet."
"I began missing you the moment I lost sight of you at the departure terminal" he told me sweetly, my heart tightening.
"I miss you too, I wish you were here with me now. Tucked into my love seat as we both looked out onto the city sky line."
"One day baby, one day."
We spoke for the next hour about everything and nothing. What I loved about our relationship was that we would never get bored of getting to know more about each other. After we hung up I called Angela to discuss scheduling and what was on the agenda for the next few days. Fortunately my meetings didn't start till tomorrow so I had the remainder of the day to do whatever the hell I wanted.
...
To pass by the time I decided to take myself shopping. I hadn't indulged or treated myself in some time and I couldn't wait to buy gifts for the family back home. If New York taught me one thing it was how to shop. I made my way through various familiar stores picking up some staple jumpers and blouses from Chanel and a new bag for Rosalie. She always gushed over the one I had taken with me so I thought as a small repayment for welcoming me into her home, I would get her, her own. Obviously I picked the red version of my own. She was a much bolder spirit than myself. She'd love it.
I even went into Jimmy choo and purchased Alice her very own Romy Flat Ballerina shoes. I needed her to be here when she bought her First pair of Louboutin's . I could never take that experience away from her, but the Choo's were going to blow her mind. Of course I picked up some new shirts for the guys and pulled a little something special for Edward.
I had my hands full with shopping bags as I made my way back to my apartment, George helped me through the lobby and up to my floor. Not allowing me to struggle with the bags alone. He is such a gentleman.
Once inside I placed everything on the sofa and smiled. Looking at the time I saw it was a little before six. I had spent around five hours out and about but my stomach was starting to tell me it was time to grab food. I thought to myself about grabbing a take away and relaxing for the evening but a better idea crossed my mind. Pulling out my phone I decided to call my dad.
"Hello" I heard my father answer.
"Hi dad, how are you?" I asked brightly.
"Bella, I'm doing alright sweetheart how are you? Have you just arrived home?"
"No I made it back just before lunch time, thought I would spend the afternoon shopping. I had a quick thought come to me. Are you busy?"
"Not at all, your mother is out with her friends leaving me to an evening of peace and quiet." He chuckled.
"Excellent. Would you like to go for dinner with me?" I asked.
"Of course! I'll make a quick call to Carmine's. You still love Italian right?"
"Yes dad, sounds wonderful. I'll meet you there in say an hour?"
"An hour should be fine, see you soon baby girl."
"Bye dad."
As I hung up to phone I went to the bathroom and began to freshen up. I set my hair into a half up do and pulled the fronts of my hair and lightly curled them. I rushed into my bedroom and lifted my case onto my bed and pulled out the dress I wore for my date with Edward. Slipping it on I walked over to my vanity table and opened my jewellery box. I picked out some simple silver pieces to accompany my outfit.
After I topped up my make up, I opened my closet and pulled out a Black long formal blazer jacket. Then I pulled my black strappy Jimmy Choo's from my shoe rack and finished getting myself ready. I exchanged my Chanel shoulder bag for a Bibba Clutch before heading out of my apartment.
The sky was beginning to darken as I stepped out into the street. All the lights were beginning to shine and the night life was about to begin. I hailed a taxi and hopped in quickly telling them the restaurant I was heading too.
Ten minutes later we pulled up outside of Carmines. As I hopped out of the taxi I heard my father call out my name.
"Bella!"
As I turned my father began walking towards me. As he reached me we hugged briefly and said a quick hello.
"Come on let's get you inside" he said as I took his arm and he lead me into the warm restaurant, the smell of Italian food hitting my senses immediately.
We were took straight to our table which was situated at the far side of the room slightly tucked away. True Charlie fashion, just like myself. Always preferring not to be centre of attention in a room full of people.
After the waiter took our drink orders I slipped out my phone and messaged Edward letting him know I was meeting up with my father for the evening. I smiled as he replied instantly hoping I would enjoy myself and my time with my father.
"Well I don't think I have ever seen that look on your face before." My father stated as he rested his chin on one of his hands as he pointed with the other at the small smile that tugged at my lips.
"Well there is no point in skirting the subject. Yes father I am dating a very special man in Forks, and he is the reason I can't keep this infectious smile from my face." I told him my small smile enlarging to a beam just thinking about him.
"What is his name?"
"Edward Cullen. He own his own music store in Forks and he teaches a variety of musical instruments. But his speciality is the piano."
"Financially stable?"
"Yes dad, he owns his own home." Laughing slightly at his attempt to give me the third degree run down.
"family orientated?"
"Yes, his parents live in Forks too. His father is a surgeon, his mother an interior designer and his younger sister Alice owns her own small Cafe with her husband Jasper."
"Does he treat you well?"
"The best dad. Honestly. Next to you the most wonderful man I have ever had the pleasure of meeting and having in my life." I replied honestly.
"Do you love him?"
"Yes. And he loves me. For me. Bella. Not Isabella Swan."
That final statement made his moustache twitch. He knew how much it hurt me that some people only appreciated me for the work I have produced in life. But never truly got to know the real person underneath. Even though my father never originally supported my writing too much when I had set my mind to becoming a professional author. But after he read my first piece of work he became a silent number one fan even if he struggled to express his emotions at times.
"I'm happy for you Bella. Of course I would like to meet this Edward for myself. But I can see you really love this man and his family. So as long as you're being looked after that is all that matters."
"Thank you dad."
"So how is Emmett?" My father asked.
"Emmett has grown. He is a bear of a man dad honestly he could rough up a few NFL players." I chuckled enticing a laugh from my dad.
"He was always a big boy. Even as a child. I'm glad he is doing well."
"He is doing very well. He's happy. He has a fiancé called Rosalie. She is stunning. She owns her own restoration garage."
"Really? She is a petrol head?"
"Oh yeah, she is so smart and she could dismantle and put back together an engine in the blink of an eye. Both her and Emmett welcomed me in so quickly. It was like I was already part of the family."
"So how long are you planning to stay before you return?" He asked quietly.
I hadn't told my parents when I would be returning. My mother anticipating I would more than likely stay. But the tone in my fathers voice sounded like he knew what my future intentions were.
"Ten days." I told him.
"Sounds to me like you've found your new home."
"I have dad. I can't explain it, these people. They've become a part of me. And for the first time in forever I feel like I belong there. With them."
"Can I opt out of being around when you tell your mother?"
We both looked into each others eyes as we began to laugh.
"Do you think she will be mad? Well I know she will be upset, but how bad?" I wondered out loud.
"Like the fire works on the fourth of July." My father stated taking a long drink.
"Wow."
"I know. But don't forget. You don't live with her, I'll be hearing it for months!" He grumbled.
"Is she really that bad at home?" I asked him, seeing the slight strain in his brow.
"I feel like it is getting worse overtime Bella. The more toxic friends she makes, the worse she becomes. I'm starting to lose all the best parts of her I fell in love with all that time ago."
"Oh dad, I'm so sorry. I wish you could of told me. I could of helped." I said reaching over the table take his hand.
"Don't you worry about me darling. I'm as tough as old boots, lets not be sad. I'm spending time with my favourite daughter."
"I'm your only daughter dad" I laughed.
We changed the topic fairly quickly as my father began asking more and more questions about my life in Forks. We spent the next couple hours eating, drinking and catching up on what has been happening the past couple of months. It was nice, I loved the feeling of being able to share the most happiest of memories and new events with my dad. By the time we finished our meal and said good night I could sense my father was ready to book a flight back with me to Forks Washington and take up the small town life.
