Howdy Doody,
I hope that the posting becomes a little more regular soon. My classes are in their final two weeks. Thank you for understanding, and I hope to make my posts more regularly now. Thank you to Helen and all of you for reading. I hope that you are enjoying it so far. Let me know what you think. Happy Reading.
I don't own any of the Twilight characters or material, I only make them deal with Mike Newton.
Chapter 19: Big Brother Back-up
The rest of the bus ride went by in a flurry of ninja turtles, Disney princesses, and miscellaneous classics like vampires, werewolves, and one very cute kindergarten Frankenstein. As predicted, Alice jumped on Jacob the minute the three of us got to our lockers.
"Jacob William Black! We agreed! What do you think you're doing?" Alice spun him around to face her.
"Allie, cool it, Okay? Mom said that I couldn't wear my jersey, and I didn't have anything else. Besides, you know this isn't my costume for tonight, so why does it matter?"
Wrong question. I leaned over to Edward.
"I'm going to walk Nesmee to class so that she isn't a witness to Jake's murder. See you in class. Come on, Ness." I walked away while Edward snickered. As we turned, I noticed Jasper standing against the lockers, dressed like Clint Eastwood.
"A cowboy? Really?"
"It was the little lady's idea," he answered, pointing to Alice with the tip of his hat. I started laughing because Jasper obviously had no idea why.
"I have no doubt," I said, and Nessie and I continued toward her classroom.
After dropping Nesmee off, I made my way to the third floor.
"Aww. Look, it's twinkle toes. What are you supposed to be?" said Mike Newton, the bane of my high school existence.
"Leave me alone, Mike." He wouldn't be that bad if he understood that not every girl wants to talk to him or be hit on.
"Oh, come on, Bella. Don't be that way. I'm only playing around," He said and had the nerve to put his hand on my shoulder.
"Mike, don't touch me," I yelled. I shrugged him off and continued walking.
"Aw, Bell. Don't leave," he said, grabbing my wrist.
"I'm pretty sure she already told you twice, Mike. Don't make us tell you a third time." I turned to find Emmett and Jasper behind me.
"Yeah, I'll hold ya down and Emmett will kick your sorry ass," Jasper clarified, as if Mike wasn't smart enough to understand, which was questionable. Mike scoffed like he could take them. I kind of wanted to see that. Was that wrong of me?
"Whatever. You always need the boys to save you, Swan?"
"Trust me. They'll only be the cleaning crew if you do that to me again."
"Whatever," he said again and walked past them.
"Thanks, you guys."
"No problem, Baby sis," Jasper said, tipping his hat again like a cheeseball.
"Yeah, just let us know. I'm raring for a chance to beat the snot out of that little jerk. It might serve him well, eventually. Knock him down a peg or two." Emmett, of course, looked all too willing. He was dressed as a cop, badge, glasses, and all. He whipped the glasses off dramatically.
"Now get to class, Little Lady," Jasper said and started to walk down the stairs past me. I rolled my eyes at both of them. As Emmett passed me, I decided to have a little fun. I touched his arm to slow him. After he stopped, I leaned in to whisper in his ear.
"I know your secret, Emmett McCarthy," he didn't need to know that I wasn't sure.
"And I know yours, little sister." He winked and continued down the stairs, chuckling with Jasper on their way to the gym.
End Note: Next up…a little cuteness before the battle in class meetings. Dun, dun, dun. See you guys, tomorrow. Let me know what you think. What might Bella's Secret be?...
