The bridge were still silent after the fight between Saru and Michael. Gladfully with the security team everything seemed a bit more relaxed.

Pike felt sick. He needed more rest then he thought he did, but he couldn't say anything in case the bridge freaked out. So, he straightened up and carried on with what he was doing.

Saru was keeping quiet. He had nearly questioned a captains integrity. True since Pike had come on the ship a lot of others had questioned Pikes leadership. Obviously he nearly shared the same opinion. However, being next officer in line it wouldn't look good if he went against Pikes orders.

Michael was also keeping quiet. She was somewhat happy though. She kind of liked when Saru was told off by Pike. Pike and Michael seemed to be getting along quite well in the end. She hoped it wouldn't end by what Saru had said.

"Lieutenant Burham status report." Pike said after a while.

"The ship is holding fine sir considering. A few more hours and it's warp drive should be up and running again."

"Good. Any objections Saru?"

"No sir." Saru butted in.

"Good."

Detmer and Owosekun smiled at each other. They knew Saru wouldn't be happy with that little remark. Something stopped them in their tracks though.

"Sir?" Detmer said.

"Yes Detmer?" Pike asked.

"There seems to be a ship coming towards us at quite a fast speed."

"Put it on screen."

Detmer put it onto the screen in front of them. Pike stood up out of his chair and walked towards it.

In front of them was a Starfleet ship. However, no one could see which one it was. Pike turned round to face the bridge.

"Well let's break space silence. Hail them please Airiam."

"Yes sir."

Airiam hailed the ship stopped in front of them.

"No response sir." Airiam responded.

"Weird. If that's a Starfleet vessel it would have answered would it not?"

"Yes sir." Airiam answered.

"Sir it's scanning us." Michael said worried.

"Put shields up Lieutenant."

"Yes Captain."

"Any response to us hailing it yet Airiam?"

"Not yet sir."

"Right. What are they up to?"

"Sir, they have more weapons then we have." Stamets said.

"Even better. Any conformation on which ship it is?"

"Not yet sir." The bridge responded.

"Why aren't they answering us?" Pike asked to literally anyone on the bridge.

"Sir they seem to be quite badly damaged." Michael answered him.

"Damaged?"

"Yes sir. Their hull seems to have the most damage to it."

"No wonder they're on edge."

"Sir what do we do?" Michael asked.

Pike looked around the bridge at the worried faces looking at him. He sighed. He put his hand on his head.

"Sir?" Michael asked.

"Hail them one more time. If they don't answer open a frequency channel."

"Yes sir." Airiam said.

"There must be some way of getting an answer from them."

"Sir they're answering. Shall I put them up on screen?" Airiam asked even though she knew what the answer was mostly likely going to be.

"Yes, please commander."

Airiam put the bridge of the Starfleet ship up on the screen. To the bridges horror it looked like the hull wasn't the only thing to have sustained bad damage.

"My God." Pike said under his breath.

The screen showed wires everywhere. Screens shattered and some bodies lying over them. Pike stepped back into his chair.

"That's why we weren't getting an answer."

"But there must be someone who answered it sir." Michael said in haste.

"Good point Lieutenant. Saru scan for any life forms on that ship. Hopefully we've got to them just in time."

"Yes Captain." Saru responded.

The bridge started to quickly scramble to find any chance of saving the person aboard.
