Without really thinking about it, by setting up their monies that way, the clan managed to further solidify their standings as saviors for the city.

When they had been called in to help with a bomb scare at the UN building, even though it had turned out to be a completely innocent package that had been set down in the hallway of one of the upper floors, their presence in the city had gone global.

Elisa still found her head spinning sometimes at the rate on which things were changing.

The Gargoyles had a fan club now, and each night there would be plates of goodies left at the stations for them. The officers loved it, since the Gargoyles tended to not actually hang out at the stations, thus… the food was fair game.

There had been a photo op a few weeks ago with the Gargoyles and the survivors of the manufacturing plant fire that had been their first rescue assignment. Everyone who had been saved that night had attended, some even bringing their families. The survivors had greeted all of the gargoyles by name, expressed their gratitude, and hugs had been exchanged.

The picture of Hudson holding a small girl, the daughter of one of the maintenance workers who had been saved that night, while she'd played with his beard, graced the front page of the Tribeca Times the next day. It had been in the New York Times and a few other publications as well that were read nationwide.

More and more people began making their way in to Manhattan from out of town, out of state, and some even from other countries, hoping to see the gargoyles.

A couple of them, Brooklyn, Broadway and Lexington mainly, were eating it up. Goliath, Hudson and Angela tried to stay out of the limelight as much as possible, though their pictures would inevitably show up in the papers or on the news.

It was amidst that craziness that Elisa received a large bouquet of flowers one morning. Honestly, she couldn't figure out how the poor delivery person had even gotten it inside her building.

After an incident with a stalker not that long ago, Elisa was weary about such deliveries. Knowing her aversion to it, the security personnel at her building held the delivery at the front desk for her.

Well… it didn't exactly sit on the desk. The tall oriental style vase had actually been placed on the floor, its expansive arrangement so large that it would have actually taken up most of the desk. The vase was red and black, accents of gold peeking out to highlight the carved scenes that graced the vase's surface. The flowers themselves ranges from the deepest of reds to the purest of whites, with gold sprayed branches to continue the color scheme.

How she was supposed to get it up to her condo was a mystery.

Elisa cautiously took the card from the holder and took the card out.

"Congratulations on your efforts to unify the city and the Gargoyles. We knew we were not wrong about you, Hope Bringer. We cannot wait to see what you will accomplish next. Sincerely, the Council."

Elisa rolled her eyes skyward. So she was back to being the Hope Bringer in the Council's eyes, was she? Hell, she had doubted herself so often that she sure didn't feel like a Hope Bringer. Every time she had almost forgotten about the title that had been bestowed on her, it came back.

"Is it good news, Mrs. Maza?" Tony, the front desk security man asked with caution. He had been there when she had been dealing with the stalker as well.

"Its fine," Elisa said with a sigh. She gave the oversized arrangement a frustrated look. "I just need to figure out what to do with these."

Tony shot the elevator a dubious look himself. "Want to just leave it here in the lobby? I can make sure that you get the vase after the flowers are gone."

Elisa heaved a sigh of relief. "Thanks, Tony. That sounds like a great idea."

Tony gave her a smile. "Glad to help, Mrs. Maza."

Elisa tucked the card in her coat pocket, and she returned up to her apartment. She still had a boy to bathe, read a story to and get into bed for the day.

While it wasn't the most exciting way to end her day, she was grateful to have some slower time to herself with her family. She had the night off, and knew that Goliath would be asleep in the courtyard upstairs so that he would be able to join her as soon as the sun set.

While it may not seem exciting to others, it was her idea of perfect.
