Kagome always wondered at the lack of youkai in her era. Now she knew, and it horrified her. She’d made the wrong wish, and they all vanished. Finding that Sesshomaru may hold the answer, she held on to hope. If she could bring him back from the underworld, would he help her find a way to undo her wish? Little did she know, the daiyoukai would do anything for her.

A small smile appeared on Kagome's lips as she watched Rin's brows pucker in contemplation. The girl truly cared for her lost lord. It was humbling to see such a display of loyalty in a world where it's so hard to come by.

"I promised, didn't I?" Kagome reminded the girl, reaching up to fix her lopsided ponytail. "I'll bring them back. We will bring them back."

Releasing a long, weary sigh that made Kagome genuinely sad – because really, such a sound should never come from a child – Rin nodded and glanced around, seeking a suitable place to rest.

"Okay."
