Hi, I hope you enjoy this chapter. The next one will be out soon. (Hopefully.)

Anna had made it to the Chateau Remy rented the Spirit of Dordogne she felt it was far too extravagant, but he told her he wanted to treat her to the most luxurious honeymoon possible. She had to admit it looked stunning on the drive up. It sat on a hill above a gorgeous river. It had turreted towers and looked like it was right out of a fairytale. She couldn't wait to see what the inside looked like.

She left her bags in the trunk. She couldn't wait to see Remy. She had no idea what she was going to say. Remy was not only hurt but had been pissed off enough to put Erik in the hospital. She never imagined that was possible.

She shook her head. Being here together, she could convince him things didn't have to end. After all, he didn't have to come here he could have gone anywhere, where she couldn't find him. Choosing to come here made it easy for her to follow. It was almost an invitation to her so they could work out their problems.

Her pace slowed, and her shoulders began to slump forward, and she was straining to stop tears from falling from her eyes. She didn't want to believe what she was hearing. But with every step, the sounds became clearer and clearer.

"Ahhh! Ahhh! God! Yes! Harder!"

"You like that, my Lil blueberry crepe?"

Her head slumped against the wall, and she started to cry.

What could she do? Be mad at him after what she did?

"You like it spicy! You dirty thing, you like it hard!"

"Yes! You sexy, Demon! Yes!

...Surely he was just trying to get back at her for kissing another man on their Wedding day.

...That's understandable...right?

"God! I love your giant..Ah!"

"Oh, Dude, you are so tight!"

Ok, screw this! She thought. They were not officially broken up, and this was just low.

She kicked open the door, and even though the sounds had made it clear what was going on. Seeing Remy thrust into an extremely flexible brunette draped over a piano sent her into a fury as she rushed over to them.

"Oh, hi, Rogue." He muttered as if everything were normal.

And she pulled back, letting lose almost her full strength right on the side of his face, and he was knocked to the ground.

"De ell!?" He cried.

She moved to follow where he fell when the brunette blocked her.

"This ain't about you, so go!"

"Anna, it's me." She explained, and her skin became a light blue color while her dark hair faded to white.

"Vanessa?! How does this make anything better? Oh, wait, I know... now I get to kick your ass too!"

"Oh, I get it, you think I'm Gambit." He said, laughing. "Oww!" He cried, then popped his jaw back into place.

"Whadda ya mean?! What's going on here?"

"Remy gave me and Wade the honeymoon package. He said he didn't want it to go to waste."

Anna had to fight back the tears then thought.

"Why the hell does he look like Remy?!"

"We're using my old image inducer," Wade explained, holding it up.

Anna's angry eyes turned to Vanessa.

Nessa shrugged and blushed slightly.

"It's just a lil harmless roleplay."

"Yeah," Wade said, walking to them. "She may think he's cute, but my face is the only one she'll sit on and let finger her ah..

"Yes, Wade!" Vanessa cut in quickly.

"Sides, she used to use her powers to do it for me all the time. And she never complained about doing me with all the cancer boils wanna see?" Click.

"AHHHHH!"

I received a text yesterday and was walking to a room somewhere in the outskirts of Tennessee. It was dark, cold, and the smell of cigarettes and alcohol was overpowering. It was just a small room with a bed, which hadn't been touched. His hand reached out from behind the bed, holding on to a mostly empty bottle of whiskey.

"Remy."

"Laura?"

I help him sit up, take a drink from the bottle, and then put it aside in favor of a cigarette. I say nothing and just help him sit up straight. His long hair is a tangled mess, he has more facial hair then I've ever seen him with, and he has dark circles under his eyes.

"Would you like to go for a walk?"

He does not respond, just takes another long drag.

"How bout some music?" I ask, noticing a radio and walk over to turn it on."

Yesterday...click!

Ain't no sunshine when she's gone

It's not warm when she's away...Click

It don't get much dumber than trying to forget a girl when you love her. Click.

"How is that even possible?"

"la vie est une chienne."

"Remy, Anna is sorry, she's torn up. I know that she.."

"I can..." He starts, but his voice cracks, and he stops to take a drag of his cigarette.

"I can't talk about An...Anna petit."

"Ok, you don't have to."

He sits up and looks over at me.

"I'm sorry, Laura, I didn't want you to see me like this. I thought I'd be better."

"You never have to apologize to me, Remy, not for anything. Ever"

He looked at me, giving a weak smile.

"You remember how I got shot last year?"

"Like I could forget that." I roll my eyes at him.

"That sucked."

"Yes, it sucked for me too, but I imagine it was way worse for you."

"This feels worse..."

I look at him. He is putting out his cigarette and taking out another. He changes his mind and throws it aside.

"Let's get outta here and go have some fun. You drive." He said, tossing me the keys.

/

Vanessa went over to Anna. Putting her hand on her shoulder.

"I'm sorry, would you like for us to leave?"

"No, Remy thought it would be nice for you two to enjoy it. So, you should. Do you mind if I stay in one of the rooms?"

"Oh, course not. We can have dinner later if you want."

"Sounds nice," Anna said, heading to a room.

"Nessa!."Wade called."Not that room." He mumbled to her under his breath.

"Oh yeah." She blushed giggling. "Why don't you take that one."Vanessa pointed."

"Ahem!"Wade said, shaking his head.

Vanessa motioned to another."That one?"

His eyes went wide, and he violently shook his head mouthing noooo.

"Why don't you guys figure it out while I get my bags," Anna called as she went outside.

She didn't know why she was staying, she just didn't feel like being alone. There was no way she'd find Remy, not when he didn't want her to.

Our drive takes five hours. We arrive at his family's house in New Orleans.

"It will be good to spend time with these crazy people."

Remy says, opening the door to the family estate.

"Remy! comment va mon frere?"

Remy gave a weak smile.

"Voilà mon soldat! Well, most of us are on our way out the door to meet père. We had no idea you'd be here. Sorry, we made these plans last month so we..."

"Henry Nous devons montrer du soutien à ton frère!" Mercy scolded.

"Désolé Rémy. Vous voulez que nous restions?"

"Tante still here?"

"Oui."

"Alors non."

"Génial! À l'année prochaine! Au revior Laura!"

We find Tante sitting watching tv.

"Laura, good ta see ya Petit." She hugs me, then Remy.

"Mon chere comment va mon bébé."

"Impressionnant, Ça ne pourrait pas être mieux."

"Ah, you think ya can bury de pain, poor chere." She says, hugging him again.

"We here to have fun, Mattie, tonight's New Year. None of us are bleeding. So it's not so bad, eh?

"You didn't get shot until after midnight, remember."

"Thank you, Laura, see I may have bullets to look forward to later."

"Crazy chile."

"Je t'aime Tante." He said holding her close.

So watcha watching."

"Twilight Zone marathon."

"Merde! Did I miss the Five Strangers In Search Of An Exit? Remy asked as he jumped on to the couch.

"Don think so."

"Come here, Petit. This is the best show."

We watch a few episodes, they are interesting. Though I suppose more so to people who don't live the strange lives we do.

"You ladies keep watching I'll be right back."

Remy comes back about 20 minutes later carrying a large brown paper bag. He heads to the kitchen to cook us dinner. Tante and I ask if he needed help, but he refused.

We sit down to a five-course dinner. Each one I can't pronounce, except for the souffle for dessert. I notice Remy doesn't touch a thing. He just drinks the red wine he opened.

"It's 11:50! Come on, you two!" Remy says, jumping up.

We follow him outside. He has a champagne bottle and three glasses. He is standing next to boxes of fireworks. He gives me the champagne and glasses so that he can arrange some of the fireworks.

"Don't you blow things up with your hands all the time?"

"Yeah, but these are fun! Ew! Five minutes left just enough time." He says, pulling out three cigarettes.

"I really am sorry I broke my promise to you. So I'll do it now before the New Year. You two wanna join me in a last cigarette forever? I wouldn't ask if you weren't a healing factor snob, Tante, you can just pretend."

He uses his finger to light mine then his.

I do my best to not cough like everyone who first tries it, but am unsuccessful.

"This is terrible," I say, kicking at him.

"Yeah."He dodges and laughs.

But he breathes the smoke in deeply. I can tell he is savoring it.

"It 11:59 chile get rid of dat filthy thing!"

He pours the champagne we drink. Remy pulls me into a hug clinging to me tightly. Mattie uses my cigarette to light some of the fireworks he set up. We all hug and then spend the first hour of the New Year drinking champagne and causing explosions.

Seven days later

We have been hanging out with Tante talking about Remy when he was young. He told me when he first moved here. He practiced his thieving skills by sneaking the chocolate chip cookies Matie baked.

"I never tol em dis, but I always knew chere."

"Comment?"

"Your cute lil face would be covered in chocolate. I clean it before ya brothers saw."

This got the two of them debating which one of them was the better baker. Thanks to my healing factor, making getting full almost as difficult as getting drunk. I have now judged beignets, croissants, creme brulee, Ugh! If it's sweet and French, just assume they've made me eat it.

I notice that much like New Years, Remy hasn't touched any of what they made. He has been faithful to his word about not smoking, though. Last time he tried going cold turkey, he compensated by binge eating.

I ask Tante if she's seen him eat anything. She doesn't think he has either but assures me she can get him to eat.

She made his favorite gumbo. He does eat a bit of it. But it mostly seemed like he did so out of politeness.

We have been hanging out for days talking, watching shows.

"We need to get him out of de house ta do something chere. Come wit me, I got an idea."

Tante gave Remy some jobs. Some were from the guild. Some she said were personal.

Most of them were uneventful, and I was there for moral support. He did need my help pulling off one, though.

So I am in the changing room of a store currently "slutting it up."

Remy was crawling along the ceiling almost at his control panel when he saw Laura come in.

Her long black hair flowed behind her as she strode in with her six-inch high heels. Her sexy...legs

Remy shook his head and went back to his task.

"Now, petit."

Laura went up to the security guard, smiling. He looked up, and his eyes bulged out of his head. Just like her breast were bulging out of her...

Merde! Remy scolded himself.

"Subtle petit, we don't need this guy stalking you."

Right, when he was going to cut the wire, he looked over at her. She was bending over in front of the guard. Her short grey skirt was already high, so he could see... was that a thong?

"Subtle!" He said, losing his grip.

Merde!

He was able to zap the wire before he hit the ground and set off the alarms.

It looked like my job was done, so I apologized to the guard and made my exit. As usual, I waited in a car a few blocks away for Remy to show up.

"So was that the last one on the list?"

Remy nods, he is oddly evasive. Only giving curt responses and avoiding looking in my direction.

"Is everything ok?"

"Oui."

I look at him. He still seems uncomfortable. He glances over at me with a quick smile then looks away. Still curious about what happened, I just drive us back toward his family's estate.

We are watching another show after the dinner Remy didn't eat again when his phone rings.

Remy sighs after he puts his phone down.

"Well, Tante looks like me and Laura are going to have to leave tomorrow.

Mattie pulls Remy into her arms.

"Ya find a way ta be happy mon chere."

"Mattie, I know your not my mother. But I have always thought of you one. And you are the best I could ever imagine."

"Je t'aime Remy,"She said with tears running down her face."Je t'aime"

"Where are we going?"I ask.

"We have a wedding to go to."

/

Rogue sat out on the veranda reading a book. She spent most of her time outside, mostly because Wade and Vanessa were obnoxiously loud. But also because she needed a distraction from thinking about how she was supposed to be here with Remy.

Looking out over the entrance to the Chateaux, she noticed quite a few cars heading down the driveway.

Wade comes strolling out of the entrance with a huge smile, greeting the arriving guests.

Weasel, Bob, an old blind woman, and a few other guests meet up with them.

"Oh my God Al!" Vanessa runs up hugging the woman.

"It's good to see you Vanessa."

"Bob and Weasel hug her too.

"Yeah, Wade actually did something right, getting you back. Though he could have told us sooner!"

"What?! I needed some "private time" with her."

"Asshole."

Thirty minutes later, Logan and Storm show up, followed by Remy and Laura.

Anna ran up to Remy throwing her arms around him.

"Can we please talk?"

"Not now, chere."

"Well, we're all here, Jackass, so what's going on?"

"Great!" Wade muttered as he rushed over to Remy and me.

"You get it?" He asked nervously."

"Bien sûr que oui."Remy said, handing him a little box.

Wade reached into his jacket and gave Remy an envelope.

"Thanks, Frenchy."He said, turning to Vanessa.

"Vanessa, when I first found you, I was drifting through life just tryin to reap enough havoc and destruction in the world so that people would still know my name when I was gone. You showed me that wasn't all the world had left for me. That even someone as far gone and crazy as I was could still learn. That the greatest thing is to love and to be loved in return."

"All these years later, you've taught me that again. So Vanessa Carlysle, will you marry me?"

He said, dropping to his knee, holding up a white gold ring with a sapphire gem.

Vanessa threw her arms around him, knocking him to the ground.

"So that's a yes? You're not trying to kill me, right?"

"No!"

"No!?"

"Ugh! No, I'm not trying to kill you! Yes, I'll marry you silly."

Everyone clapped while the happy couple embraced.

"Dammit!"Weasel cried.

"Ha! Pay up, loser." Bob said.

Wade looked over at the two of them, Nessa still in his arms. "What's up?"

"Oh Weasel bet me a million dollars, Nessa'd turn you down."

"Man Weasel, the way you talk, it's like only a demon from hell'd ever marry me."

"So when should we get married, Wade?"

"Um... now, Nessa. That's what they're all here for. After last time I'm not waiting."

Vanessa goes to change into one of the five dress options we brought for her to pick from.

An hour later, she emerges. Her white dress and hair flowing in the wind. Wade's eyes popped from their sockets. He grinned at her like a fool.

The sun was just setting. She takes Logan's arm, and he walks her to Wade. Weasel has been ordained online, so he marries them in a short ceremony, and Vanessa leaps into his arms, kissing him.

I feel bad for Anna. I can tell she wants to cry.

"Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you Vanessa Carlysle and Wade Wilson. Husband and Wife!

Wade picked her up and swung her in his arms.

"I love you, babe, sorry us crazy morons gotta do everything backward. Getting married after the honeymoon and all."

"It doesn't matter." She smiled and kissed him.

"Actually, the place is rented through the month. You guys have another two weeks."

Vanessa squealed and leaped into Wade's arms.

"Wanna do our first dance, Nessa?"

"Definitely!"

"Great! Weasel." He motioned to Weasel, who nodded.

"Bowie may have returned to the stars, but we will never forget him here on Earth."

He held up his phone, and she nodded with a smile at his choice in song.

Weasel clicked a button, and it illuminated a lifesized hologram. It was a music video in black and white giving it a noir feel. Musicians sat with their instruments and stands.

Remy instantly recognized the gentle tune, as the recognizable singer sat to join them.

He might have cursed out loud at the absurdity of the coincidence if he had not recalled seeing an article on his cell. Sadly David Bowie had passed away. It was a shock to his fans since he kept his battle with cancer away from the media. He managed to make it to his 69th birthday, and top the charts before he was gone. He truly was a rock god, Wade and Vanessa were obviously fans.

Remy had picked this song because he remembered it from his youth; the lyrics were passionate. It perfectly illustrated how much a single touch from Anna meant to him. How much he loved her, how she was his life.

As Wade and Nessa danced to the lovely song, he realized. That like he had been, they were blind to the torment in the Thin White Duke's eyes, and the anguish in his voice. As he beautifully begged for love, sang of its unpredictability, and it's inevitable loss.

Remy felt sorrow once again consume him, realizing how much time he spent. Pleading with Anna to love him, feared her leaving and then suffering the unbearable torment every time she did.

Anna recognized the name of the song. She had meant to listen to it. But had forgotten to Remy had told her it was exactly how he felt about her.

Even though she tried as hard as she could, it wasn't long before the lyrics brought her to tears.

Love me, love me, love me, love me

Say you do

Let me fly away

With you

For my love is like

The wind

And wild is the wind

Wild is the wind

Give me more

Than one caress

Satisfy this

Hungriness

Let the wind

Blow through your heart

For wild is the wind

Wild is the wind

You

Touch me

I hear the sound

Of mandolins

You

Kiss me

With your kiss

My life begins

You're spring to me

All things

To me

Don't you know you're

Life itself

Like a leaf clings

To the tree

Oh my darling,

Cling to me

For we're like creatures

Of the wind

Wild is the wind

Wild is the wind

You

Touch me

I hear the sound

Of mandolins

You

Kiss me

With your kiss

My life begins

You're spring to me

All things

To me

Don't you know you're

Life itself

Like a leaf clings

To the tree

Oh my darling,

Cling to me

For we're like creatures

In the wind

And wild is the wind

Wild is the wind

Wild is the wind

Wild is the wind

Wild is the wind
