Jason
Soon after his call, there's a knock on the door. Jason answers, Bianca crosses her arms, glaring at Jason.
"What the hell did you do to my sister?"
He gestures for her to come in. "It's Percy, he's... he died."
"Oh my god!" Bianca shoves past him, falling down to hug Annabeth, both of them crying.
Jason's shuts the door and walks back to the computer in the bedroom. He sits down and fiddles a cord to attach his phone directly to it. The software program he runs bypasses the login and password requirement. He begins to search the drive, looking for any information regarding the Agency's infiltration.
As he searches his mind wanders.
"I thought you said it wasn't a date."
Jason leaned against the doorframe. Percy buttoned up a dark blue shirt and laughed.
"Well yeah, but I still want to try to impress her."
"Think she's going to change her mind?"
"I don't know, maybe. But it might be better this way. For all I know, she could be crazy as hell."
"Yeah, that's why I don't date." Jason turned away and walked across the hall to his room. He put on a pair of shoes and took his wallet off the dresser. "I'll meet you there."
*
The Bowling alley was nearly empty that evening. Jason sat the table, slowly sipping his beer. He eyed his friend, Percy; watching as he tried desperately to flirt with the blond woman, Annabeth.
They were smiling and laughing with each other. Annabeth was showing Percy how to gently roll the ball down the lane.
Jason laughed to himself as he saw Percy check out her ass as she let the ball go.
Her sister had made a last minute cancellation, leaving Jason to be a third wheel.
Annabeth sat down across from Jason, smiling at him. She was pretty, her eyes reminded him of a storm.
"So," she said. "Tell me about you and Percy, when did you guys meet?"
Jason sat foreword. "United States Navy, ma'am. 'Bout 6 years ago, now. Maybe longer."
"Wow!" She took a sip of water.
He continued. "Yeah, we both trained as SEALs, served 4 years abroad."
"So what did you guys do while you were in the Navy?"
"Mostly surveillance. He," Jason pointed at Percy who was picking up the ball. "He's a hero though. He won't tell you though, something stupid about humility or whatever."
Annabeth leaned in, her interest piqued. "What happened?"
"We were in Iran, a few years ago. There was some American hostages being held at this old factory. Probably 15 or so. Anyway, our team was sent in to extract the Americans. We take out most of the guys holding them. But some of ours got injured too—"
"Hey!" Percy slid into a chair. "What are you talking about?"
"I was just telling Annabeth about Iran."
Percy's face fell and he clenched his jaw. "Oh."
"I was telling her about that hostage situation, feel free to jump in any time." He turned back to Annabeth. "So, they went to blow the building, and only two of the charges went off. The building didn't collapse totally, so Percy and I ran back in. There was one last guy shooting at us. I got hit and Percy took him out."
Jason moved the collar of his shirt to the side, exposing a quarter size keloid scar on his right shoulder. "Percy ended up getting the last of the hostages out, even after taking a bullet. Then, he he got me out. Thanks to him, everyone made it home."
"Oh my god! That's crazy."
"Excuse me." Percy stood up and walked away.
Jason looked at Annabeth and shrugged. "I guess it's my turn."
