Merlin and Arthur were continuing on their quest. They had to stop for a few minutes because of the horses getting tired but were now carrying on. They had gone through desense forest and long paths that wore the horses feet out to no end but they had to keep going. They hadn't spoken since they got the news about the castle, it just made their drive stronger and made them more willing to get the cure and get back.

Suddenly a crash came from behind them. Arthur got off his horse first and Merlin followed having to hold on to Arthurs horse because Arthur had already left his horse.

"Sire?" Merlin tried to call after him.

This fell on deaf ears. Arthur was already gone to find out what it was. Merlin looked around and then tied the horses to a tree nearby. He then followed Arthur, just in case he needed some help.

Morgana and Gaius were watching over Uther. Gwen had gotten out to get some food from outside for the people in the dungeon.

"Arthur and Merlin should be nearly there by now." Gaius tried to change the mood.

"If they have the speed of an eagle." Morgana said bored.

"They have horses my lady." Gaius tried to turn her round in mood.

"So? Those horses aren't very fast."

"So, you don't have any faith in them?"

Morgana shrugged her shoulders. Gaius sighed, he didn't know how to lift Morganas mood. She had been like this for the whole day! Whatever he or Gwen did, nothing changed. Not only that, whenever she had tried to sleep, she had had nightmares about what Arthur and Merlin were doing. So now she wasn't sleeping which meant she was grouchy which made it worse.

"Try to look on the bright side my lady." Gaius tried to say.

"There is no bright side Gaius!" She nearly yelled.

"I was just trying to make you happy." Gaius said turning away from Morgana.

Morgana didn't take any notice of Gaius trying for an apology. She just turned back to Uther to see how he was doing. She was trying everything to get him awake or to even respond to her talking to him but nothing worked.

Gwen came back into the dungeon carrying lots of food for everyone. Even this didn't lift Morganas spirits and she loved her food. Gwen went over to Gaius when she had passed out the food amongst the people there.

"Is she getting any better?" Gwen whispered.

"No. Her mood hasn't changed all day."

"I wish we could do something."

"We just have to wait. She'll come round in time."

Before Gwen could say another word, Uther started shaking violently. Gaius pushed Morgana to one side and tended to the king. Morgana and Gwen watched on nervous of the outcome.

"What's going on?" Morgana cried.

"The poison, I think it's attacking the system again." Gaius answered her.

"Not again." Morgana cried into Gwens shoulder.

Gwen accepted Morgana on her shoulder. They just had to watch as Gaius tried to do something.

Arthur had noticed what had made a noise that had shaken himself and Merlin. Merlin joined Arthur and also saw what was going on.

"Unicorns." Merlin whispered.

"What are they doing here?" Arthur asked him also whispering.

"I don't know. They must sense somethings wrong."

There in front of them, were four unicorns. They were stomping the ground beneath their feet. Merlin and Arthur just stood there and watched just in case they would scare them with sudden movements.

"We should leave them in peace." Merlin whispered.

"They must mean something though." Arthur said trying to get Merlin to stay.

"They're unicorns sire. We need to move on." Merlin tried to persist.

Arthur looked into Merlins eyes. He nodded and they moved back to their horses.

When they got back to the horses they found their supplies stolen and horses cut loose. Arthur drew his sword to see if anyone was still around. Merlin went through their things to see what was missing.

"How much did they take?" Arthur said not even turning round and keeping his eyes into the distance.

"A lot. We'll need to stop." Merlin answered.

"We can't."

Merlin sighed. Arthur was right. If they carried on riding they would get to the cure. If they didn't they might not get to it before Uther died.

"We should go sire." Merlin said looking at Arthur.

Arthur put his sword back and then joined Merlin again. Suddenly an arrow flew through the sky and landed on the tree where the horses had been. The two turned around to see if there was anyone there but there wasn't anyone there. Merlin picked up the arrow.

"There's a note." Merlin whispered.

"What's it say?"

Merlin unravled the note to see what it said. The writing didn't look familiar.

"It's from the castle."

"Well?"

"The Saxons they've got the castle. The knights have been taken down and they're still looking for the people."

Merlin put the note away. The Saxons had finally found the right moment, they had taken over!
