In the weeks that followed, Yui had not seen Yagi at all. Every time his appointment would come around, he would either call or text her saying he could not make it due to some reason. In the beginning it was believable, but soon enough, it became obvious that they were only an excuse. The older man was actively avoiding his doctor and by the looks of it, diving head first into his work. Despite being very unhappy with it, the decision that something had to be done, was made. Without even fully understanding why, the doctor was fully committed, through blood and tears, she was going to fix this man. Call it being stubborn, professional pride, a doctor's duty, sympathy or anything else, Yui was going to see it through, even if it meant that she had to face the one thing she wished to avoid at all costs. The only thing that she hoped for, was that she could make it before the fragile man kicks the bucket and drops dead for good. He wasn't her, he couldn't just get back up after that kind of thing. Yet with this situation, she wasn't sure she could either.
Soon after the idea was formed and the plan complete, an opportunity showed itself. Another incident on the larger scale, more hurt people, another 'drop what you're doing and get here now' call from her dispatcher and one more, terribly loud, full of fake cheer and very annoying, overly charismatic hero whom Yui clearly disliked. In between the people to treat and medics to instruct, the doctor was able to grab a moment and tell the giant in the field that she needed a word with him so she was hoping he could wait until she was done. With an expected grand smile that meant nothing combined with some poorly hidden surprise, he agreed, joking about being sure that she disliked him based on their previous encounters. The comment fell on deaf ears.
As the sound of sirens were growing further and further away and the crowd started growing thinner, Yui found herself needing to wait on the number one hero as the media held him prisoner, just like they always did. She was grateful for the break she was given. This incident was messy. She did what she could and was now covered in enough blood for somebody to panic and actually call an ambulance for her. She just needed to tell them that it belongs to the people she had to treat on the spot and not herself. This was of course only partially true, but they didn't need to know that. His wounds would heal soon enough and the painkillers were doing their job at keeping her from dropping right then and there. She needed sleep, but more than anything food which she was able to get her hands on from the vending machine she took her rest next to. It wasn't much but it would do.
It took some time but the biggest guy around, was able to finally shake off the hungry school of paparazzi and joined the doctor. Yui was a bit taken back by the fact that he asked her to wait for him just a few more minutes if it was alright with her. She didn't mind, it gave her more time to rest before needing to actually communicate with her greatest discomfort. He just jumped away, which resulted in the final and most stubborn media workers give up and leave. He was back within ten minutes holding a plastic bag from a convenience store and two large cups with steaming drinks. With the wind blowing away from her, she thought that it was likely coffee. Wrong. When he came closer, and handed her the cup, she could smell the drink. Definitely not coffee. Yui just stared at the man next to her not being sure how to process it. He brought her a large cup of one of her favorite herbal teas. All Might just shifted awkwardly next to her, and with his trademark grin, but not as loud as he normally was, he explained everything.
"Well, Yagi-san sometimes talks about his doctor so half the office knows about this tea by now. I know you are the doctor and well, it's cold outside." He wasn't looking at her when he spoke, which made Yui feel less intimidated by him at this moment. He then gave her the bag as well.
"And you looked hungry." he said pointing towards the empty snacks she still held in her hands. The bag had some premade meals that were already warmed up, some sandwiches, other lighter items and cookies. As Yui took the items out and put them between the two of them the much larger man just spoke about how this or that item was full of good things to stay healthy and energetic. When she took out the cookies, he just proudly declared that they were quite tasty and went well with tea. It felt weird, being a doctor and hearing all this. In all honesty, he sounded like he was just blubbering and trying to fill in the silence between them. The comment about the cookies was the only thing which she could tell that he clearly meant. Guess the great All Might likes cookies, but who, except your dentist, doesn't?
They had a small talk about the incident that just took place and her opinion on the chances of the different people to recover. She was more confident about this than what she was going to ask of him. But she knew she had to. For the dying man's sake, she had to. Swallowing her fears, holding onto the edge of the bench until her knuckles went white and staring straight ahead, far away from the blond at the corner of her field of vision, she spoke out, voice empty of all and any emotion.
"Sir, there is a reason why I asked for your attention. Since you are aware I am Yagi-san's physician, it makes this easier." As she took a deep breath and also allowed herself a quick side glance at her companion. His smile dropped and his face was serious. He was indeed, and truly terrifying without his jolly mask. With him not saying a word and just nodding, letting her know that she had his full attention, Yui willed herself to not shake under the pressure she felt from him.
"I would like to request a formal meeting with you to discuss his condition. It is partially related to his work at your office, and yes, I am allowed to discuss it with you."

The next morning, the ladies in the reception were a little surprised to learn from Toshinori, in his hero form, that he was going to have guest and that when Miss Mori arrived, they should send her up to his office. He felt anxious as the time of the meeting was drawing closer. In his private office, he could keep to his small form. Pacing around and looking at some documents he had to fill, Toshinori was desperately trying to keep his mind away from the woman who is going to be there any minute now.
Shortly after, she had arrived. Glancing at the clock, he noted that she was right on time as if she was waiting outside the door until the arms of the clock took their desired places. He also knew it was incorrect as he had been notified about her arrival from the downstairs receptionist and had the time to transform. The woman standing in front of him looked far more professional than he was used to seeing her in their previous meetings. Long dark hair collected into a high ponytail and still reaching her lower back, a well fitted maroon turtleneck, an open black vest, a black high waisted skirt hugging her waist and widen out after the hip to allow free movement then to finish it all, skin colored stockings and polished black dress shoes on a small heel. Her look of a proper business lady was completed by her blank face, empty gaze and the even monotone voice that greeted and thanked him for his time.
"Is Yagi-san not here?" the doctor asked as she was scanning the room. Well, obviously that he himself was present, but not as Yagi. It's hard enough to make his own employees to not start questioning how come the boss and assistant are never seen together. Now he also needed an excuse for the doctor. Gladly, he had one ready ahead of time.
"You wished to discuss his condition, I assumed it would be less awkward without him in the room!" the answer was simple and made perfect sense, or at least it should. The doctor nodded in approval, or maybe in understanding. In this moment, and how unreadable she was, it was impossible to tell. Even Sir Nighteye never had that much of a serious professional feel to him. It was almost uncomfortable but he did his best to keep his smile on.
Mori sat down on a small couch in the corner of the large room and took out her file for him and a small notebook. Gesturing for the hero to join her on the second couch she looked up at him and spoke the first unpleasant thing for the day.
"Sir, I know you have your image to keep but I would appreciate it if you dropped it. I know you are not actually happy to see me." She did not grant him even a second glance after those words and would not until he sat down. It hurt him to hear her say that. Never before, had anybody asked him to drop his smile, and never before was he called out on his bluff point-blank like this. But, it's true that he would have preferred for her not to come as he still was not sure how to face her. The smile dropped. At least now he doesn't need to pretend as much.
During their last session, she berated him over self neglect. She was not too harsh about it but being told point-blank that he was killing himself was not something he wanted to hear. He had his job, he had his duty and he had the whole of Japan to keep safe. Then he had his other job as his own secretary to cover up his injury and other things. Even with Naomasa's help, things were not simple and he had little time to properly care for himself. He knew he sure wasn't helping but with the progress he had so far, he was convinced that it was going to be fine. So being called out on that mistake hurt a lot. Being around her as All Might was easier than as Yagi but it was not a big improvement. He knew she came because he was avoiding her. He knew she didn't seem to like his hero form though he didn't know why. But now he no longer knew if he wanted to know.
"Now, I would like to know, how much do you know about Yagi-san's condition and the changes in it?" He knew she had asked because it was a safe question and an easy way to start the conversation. See what the other party knows, correct the mistakes and add on top. Simple and productive. As he was talking, she took notes. He didn't say anything too specific or anything that would indicate that he knows every single detail of it. Their conversation was going in circles. Neither of them were willing to give out too much. He didn't want to call himself out, she was giving him as much as she could considering privacy issues. It took some time, but eventually she closed the notebook and put it aside, staying with just the private file.
"Well then, l have all I need to know about this situation then. Mr. All Might, allow me to say the obvious, you are a bad employer." Those words were as flat as the table's glass surface the file was lying on top of. With the doctor looking right at his face and her mannerism showing nothing but brutal honesty, the quarter of a ton man was taken aback and felt the need to wipe some non-existent sweat off his face or swallow hard. He was able to hold himself from moving and just his eye widened, with one eyebrow rising in the process. Who knew that the small, at least she was compared to him, woman could actually be intimidating without even intending to? He wanted to say something but she continued instead.
"The fact that you are mostly away from the office, does not justify it. If you have people under you, it is your responsibility to take care of them." The thing was obvious, he needed to make sure the people working for him, not only are doing their job but are also doing well. He wanted them to be happy working there and he wanted to show he was grateful for their hard work. As Toshinori Yagi, he would often do little things that would make life and work easier for the rest. Was that not good enough?
"The people who work for you look up to you, they are trying to do their best, not just because it's their job, not just due to professionalism. It's because they work for you. Those people are willing to give it their all. The least you could do, as the man on the top, is put their well being into account. Some of those people are overworked to the point they might collapse. I have seen Yagi-san, he loves his job and everything related to it. That man is willing to do everything he can to be of help disregarding his own health. He is overworked to the point where he will collapse if nothing changes. If the workaholic himself can't stop and take a break, it's your job to make him." After that, Mori stopped allowing him to process what was said and react to it, defend himself even if he wanted to. He wasn't really sure he could. He knew that at least part of what she said was true. He was doing everything for the image of All Might and as the pillar the world needed. He was a workaholic who is basically in love with his job and he was overworked more often than not.
"So what do you think I should do?" Tosghinori wasn't too sure if it was the right thing to ask but he himself could not offer her anything at the moment beyond the promise of keeping her words in mind and speaking to himself. The more time his doctor was spending in his office, the more discomfort he was feeling about it all. She was not showing it, heck, she wasn't showing anything, but he could feel a sense of hostility and disapproval from her. Both being easy to understand when considering why she was there. He was convinced there was more to it. He knew her dislike of this part of him was not related purely to his coverup persona.
"First, even if you have to force it, send him to a therapist. I can fix the body but not the mind and there are things eating at him. Whatever it is, it's important and has to be addressed. Physical and mental health are strongly linked with each other. A person who isn't willing to live, will perish even with the strongest physique. A person who refuses to give in can overcome anything." For a brief moment, the owner of the office thought that something changed in his companion's expression. A hint of experience. Something unpleasant, something she showed deep down, faster than it came to the surface. He could feel the shiver run down his spine when he noticed. There was a secret deep down. A memory she refused to let out. People who give in and those who do not, she knows those things first hand.
"Second, give him a break, reduce his workload, get someone to help him even. I won't tell you how to run your agency but Yagi-san desperately needs to take things easier." This he could not promise her. Out loud he said that he will see what he would do his best to keep things easier on the assistance and move some work to other people who can handle it. Yagi prefers to do everything on his own but reducing his work load should be possible. After the quick agreement on the two things that have already been offered, Toshinori asked if there is anything else. He shouldn't have.
"Yes, this is less of what to do in order to fix things but more of an 'incase of emergency' situation. Right now, Yagi-san is slowly dying. If he does collapse, he might actually die. I would like to avoid it but, if he does, rush him to me immediately. I might just be fast enough to bring him back." When speaking, her tone was softer and quieter than the rest of the conversation and she was putting her things back into her bag, not looking at his direction at all. He was grateful for that little fact as he could not find the strength in himself to get up and turn away or hide the shock.
"What do you mean by 'bring him back'?" he had to ask even if he wasn't going to like the answer.
"When someone dies, there is a very small time window when they can be brought back. With my ability, this window grows a bit. Dying hurts a lot and I would like to avoid going there again so-" At this point he was unable to stop himself. He cut her off.
"Again? Explain yourself please!" Her words hit him like a bullet train going at full speed. Her past that he knows almost nothing about. The instinctive understanding that something terrible happened. The small bit of information she later shared, telling him someone important was lost. The realization he was involved, which always stops him from digging deeper and seeking the answers he needed but didn't want to find. The talk of death as both a given and an uncertainty. The implication that if he understands correctly, she died before but somehow came back. Her ability to fix anything that comes her way, saying she might even be able to bring him back when he dies. The government's desire to hide her and her quirk from the masses. It was too much and there was no way to stop the words from coming out. Nor was there even a single moment to rethink them.
The doctor's eye shot up to him, she was startled and there was fear in her. Seeing it, he lowered his head, mumbled an almost silent apology and waited as his mind refused to register the meaning of those words.
"Everything has a price, and I will not elaborate anymore than that."
With the conversation cut off, the woman stood up and looked around. Before leaving, she asked him where Yagi's desk was. He wasn't sure why she asked but showed her nonetheless. Going over to it, Mori pulled out a package from her bag and placed it there. Right before she left, with a final glance at him she spoke one last advice.
"Sir, you might want to give a personal example and see a doctor. Your skin looks a bit yellow, please make sure to see if you yourself are healthy. You have large bags under your eyes and they are very sunken, please, make sure to get some proper sleep and remember, you're Japan's number one but you are no longer a young man." With that, she turned around and left.

Some time later, in his smaller form, Toshinori went to see what Mori left for him. Opening the box he saw inside some muffins and a note.
'Yagi-san,
I haven't seen you in a while so I brought these to your office. The snow melted and the ashberried are now sweet. Thank you once again for the lovely bush. Those muffins have some of the berries inside of them.
I apologize for being unpleasant in our last meetings.
Yui
P.S.
Happy Valentine's day! Please enjoy those as a friendly gesture and as a form of apology.'
Well, at least he was already sitting.
