Here's a new chapter of Scar's Reign. Hope you are going to enjoy it! I want to thank everyone who's reading my story :D
I'm standing in front of the den, my own den. I want to step inside but then there's a hesitate. Am I allowed to go in? Of course I am allowed to go in. Why wouldn't I be, it's my own cave! I'm hearing weird noises. Tiny little noises that are inviting me to sharpen my ears, and actually they don't sound.. hostile at all.
"Taka, come see your sons."
Nala's voice is breaking my thoughts, my speculations. My sons? Since when was she..-
"Don't you just stand there, looking like a fool!"
Zazu.. Can someone please explain to me, for heaven's sake, why is he still here? "Alright, alright!" I walk in, ignore Zazu furthermore and there it is, one of the most beautiful views I've ever seen. I see Nala. She has her paws wrapped around two fragile little.. thingies.. cubs! One of them has a light fur, similar like Nala's and the other cub looks darker, a bit like me.
"Say hi to your daddy," Nala spoke softly and glimpsed at me with those big beautiful eyes I still cannot resist. I don't know if their mother's voice triggered them or if it was my large dark shadow which appeared over them, covering their entire view that did the trick, but the cubs turned their little heads towards me, and.. Oh wow, they definitely have their mother's eyes! The dark one yawned and I'm convinced I saw a little smile on the other one's face.
"My babies.." I moved my head to Nala's and instantly she let hers rest on mine. I gave her a soft kiss. I move myself closer to my cubs and I smell the innocent and their vulnerability that is written all over them. "I promise you Nala, I will protect you and our cubs. They can count on me being there for both of them, always." I'm not like my father..
"Scar!"
Oh no, speak of the devil.. not again!
"Wake up, you lazy bastard!"
Abruptly, Scar rose. The voice.. is still here? He rubbed his eyes until he got a more clearer image of the male lion that had just entered his cave. He immediately recognized the blonde manes of his former rival. "Lio?"
"You filthy..-"
"Lio, Lio.. What's with the cold reunion?" Scar spoke, almost sarcastically. "Besides, couldn't you have waited? I was literally just in the middle of such a nice dream!" he continued, referring to what he hoped was one of those so to be called prophetic dreams.
"If it had my daughter in it, I'm glad I intruded it! You couldn't have the mother so you took our daughter?" Lio did no effort in hiding how much the idea of Scar being together with his daughter disgusted him. "Stay away from her!"
"Now you're calling her your daughter?" Scar moved himself closer towards Nala's father. "Where were you then, during her childhood? You were never there for her so why start now?"
"That doesn't give you the right..- Don't go there Scar, we both know you had a huge part in the why I left!" Lio let out a annoyed sigh. He didn't wanted to open up all these old wounds but he surely hadn't expected it to go otherwise. "I'm not letting you take my little girl too!"
"Little? You clearly haven't seen her yet." Scar showed the older lion a wide grin. "She's not a little girl anymore and she makes her own choices. Nala chose to be with me. She wants to be with me!"
"What is going on in here?" Nala interfered the two lions while she walked in, followed by her mother. "Who is..-"
"Lio!" Sarafina answered Nala's question by accident. "What are you doing here?" On the one side the lioness was delighted to see her former mate but it also brought up some of her repressed memories.
"Father?" Nala had last seen her father when she was still a young cub. His appearance had been quite vague in her mind ever since. She never understood why he chose to leave, why he chose to leave her as that was how she had seen it. "Taka, did you arrange this?"
"No, but now you mention it, I'm extremely curious to know who did.." Scar answered.
"No one tracked me down, if that's what you're thinking," Lio started to explain the situation. "I was nearby and.. and then I came across of those friends of yours, the hyenas..-" he silenced when Scar roughly cut him off.
"I've heard enough, of course they're behind this," Scar sighed deep. "Look, they don't.. like their new queen and this is just one of their useless attempts of breaking us up," he continued, rolling his eyes.
"Nala, you shouldn't be with him. He's not the right one for you," Lio spoke on a serious tone, ignoring the look the black maned lion next to Nala threw at him. Then he turned to Sarafina. "Don't tell me you approve of this?"
"Don't.." Nala stepped towards her father, blocking Scar from doing something he would regret later. "I'm with Taka and as long as you're here, you need to accept that!"
"As much as I like to encourage this family reunion, I need to ask the two of you to dismiss yourselves," Scar calmly said to Sarafina and Lio, with adding slightly a tone of sarcasm in it. He wasn't in for a long discussion with the lion at this time a day, or probably any other time of the day so he thought of a small excuse to dismiss their guests. "Nala and I need to talk."
"I'm not leaving her here alone with you!" Lio called out to Scar but got beckoned by Sarafina.
"Leave it, Lio, they've been alone plenty of time! Besides, there's someone else you should meet.." Sarafina carefully brought up.
"My son!" Lio stated, giving away that he was already up to date about what he missed. Then he turned to face Scar. "Don't think this means I'm fine with it now!" he said before heading back towards the cave's entrance.
Scar sighed after Sarafina and Lio left. "I need some air.." he said as he walked outside, hinting Nala to join him. Nala took the hint and followed him. She stopped a few steps behind him. There she watched her partner staring the sunset.
"Just because something is there every day, doesn't make it any less special, huh?" Scar spoke poetic as he was staring towards the red, orange like changing colours. A blueish, violet light scattered through. "Beautiful isn't it?"
"Yes it is," Nala answered, now taking the space next to him. She leaned her head on her partner's shoulder. They both enjoyed watching the beautiful view together, side by side. Nala found herself all wrapped up in the romantic vibes that she planted a small kiss in Scar's manes.
After a moment of silence, Scar turned his face to Nala. "Your father.. You know, his comeback was um.. quite the surprise for me."
"Yeah, you've got that right!" Nala frowned. "Strangely we've got the hyenas to thank for it."
Another thing I've got to deal with.. "They are tomorrow's concerns. My mood isn't completely destroyed yet, I intend to keep it that way," Scar winked.
"About my father, I know you and him don't go well together but..-"
"I'm not exactly jumping for joy," Scar interrupted his queen. "My previous self would have banned him instantly. You gave me so much more than what I could have possibly deserved." Gently he let his paw slid over Nala's face. "He can stay, he's your father and my father in-law.."
Nala chuckled. "It's probably best he doesn't hear you call him that.."
"Oh don't worry, I don't think I'm ever going to repeat that." Scar showed Nala an awkward smile. He turned, attempting to go back inside the cave again. Scar looked behind him when he didn't hear Nala following and discovered that she had lied herself down.
"Taka.. Can't we just rest down um.. stay here for a little while?" Nala shared.
Scar shrug. Why couldn't I think of that? "You're full of good ideas, Nala.." He stepped over his queen and plopped himself down next to her. There they stayed for a little while, sharing intimate moments with each other below the bright, darkening sky and without worrying about what tomorrow has in store for them.

Father in-law xD, you know Scar if you had a daughter of Nala's age you would understand why Lio doesn't approve. ;) But for the record I would like to remind you that Lio is older than Scar :P. If you need to refresh your memory please re-read the chapter named: 'Nala's Choice Part 1'
