Scene 17
Kakashi was walking around the village's market.
Today's the day. He thought to himself.
It had been fifteen years since he first met Kaiya, and he was finally going to tell her he loved her.
He was on his way to the flower shop when he overheard a loud voice.
Funny,
He hadn't heard that voice for about two and a half years now.
Naruto.
Kakashi sighed, that could only mean one thing.
It had been a whole week of vacation from the Fifth Hokage because once Naruto was to come back, the remains of the team were to be revived again.
Kakashi, Saskura, and Naruto.
"Guess my plan for tonight is postponed once again." he then disappeared into the smoke.
All the while Kaiya was in Hokage's office when she couldn't believe her eyes.
"Naruto!" she squealed as soon as the door opened.
Naruto laughed as Kaiya hugged him.
"Wow Kaiya, you've barely changed! Wait did you get shorter?" he laughed.
"No Naruto, you grew!" laughing along.
Kaiya smiled then at Jiraiya.
It warmed Jiraiya's heart whenever he glimpsed one of Kaiya's smiles.
The last time he saw her, she wasn't in a good state.
"So you're leaving with Naruto in the morning right?" asked Kakashi when he saw Jiraiya outside the hospital room.
Jiraiya nodded and then looked in as Tsunade was talking to Kaiya.
"Why does this bring deja vu to me Kakashi?' crossing his arms, 'What brought her in?" asking.
"Kaiya tried killing herself," responded Kakashi.
Jiraiya gasped, "You're kidding?!"
Kakashi shook his head, "It's actually perfect timing, you're taking Naruto. I need to take care of Kaiya myself right now."
"She really blames herself for the old man's death, hunh?"
"Wouldn't you as well?" retorted Kakashi as he opened the door.
"You and your book Kakashi, you don't care if Naruto rests at all." started Kaiya as she walked with Kakashi.
Kaiya sighed, "And just when I got used to you being home, now you're gonna be busy again!"
He shrugged, "Well you'd understand if you read it." turning a page.
"Naruto really has grown," Kaiya smiled.
Remembering when he was just a little knuckleheaded kid.
"He looks more like him, doesn't he?" Asked Kakashi.
Kaiya nodded, "He's got some of his mom in him though." smiling.
She wondered about her deceased adoptive parents.
How proud of Naruto they would've been.
Kaiya then began humming and twirling as she walked.
Carefree.
For some reason, Naruto being back made her feel like things were finally right again.
She had Kakashi with her.
Lady Tsunade was back in the Hidden Leaf Village as Fifth Hokage.
And now Naruto, her last link to her family was back.
Kakashi closed his book and stared at Kaiya as she continued to walk.
She then stopped and looked back, "What are you looking at?" suddenly catching his stare at her.
Kaiya was twenty-one now and every day the more beautiful.
It was on the tip of Kakashi's tongue.
His confession.
But something worried him.
It had been two and a half years since Kaiya's darkest days.
He didn't want to put any worry on her.
What if confessing his love caused her to worry.
Pressured her in any way.
"Oh nothing," answered Kakashi and he caught up to her.
Kaiya pouted her lip, "You're weird."
Kakashi nudged her and the two began laughing.
