The Storm Part 1
*Hermione's point of view*
I shut the door of George's room and sigh heavily. I suddenly feel really weak and breathless. What is wrong with me? Why do I feel this pull of magical energy is attaching myself to him? What am I doing? My body is on fire, I need to get out of here. I race to the door and open it.
"You leaving without me?" George said, coming out of his room shirtless.
"No, of course not," I said nervously. "You're hot, I mean it's hot," I said shaking my head. I look up and see a smirk on his face.
"I just need to put on my jersey and I'll be good to go," he said walking in the closet.
"I need some air," I finally said and walked outside the door. I ran down the steps and opened the door leading to the streets. I inhaled as soon as the burst of fresh air hit me and let out the breath. I look to the sky and see it go to a dark grey, clouds moving like a river. I smell the rain in the air and I didn't prepare for a storm. I'm not upset though because stormy nights are my favorite weather. The smell of the rain, the darkness of the sky rushing to find light again, it's calming. I sniff the rain again..
*flashback to four summers ago*
"Hermione, a storm is coming in so we need to prepare. Can you get the candles from the attic for me dear? I was going to ask Viktor but your dad is really interested in learning about Quidditch today, it seems," my mum said, poking her head in my door.
"Yes, no problem," I said, sitting up from my bed, "just give me one minute please."
"Thanks dear," she smiled and left my room. I took the picture I was looking at and set them on my desk. I leave and start my way to the attic. I pull the string hanging from the square outline in the ceiling and pulled out the stairs. I walk up and try switching on the light, it starts to flicker. Great, I should hurry up and get these candles. I start make my way to the box by the window that had some candles but stopped. I seen a box labeled, Hermione's school year and open it. The first thing I see is a picture of George and I at the Yule ball. His grin was so goofy but he looked happy and… I looked happy. I smile at the picture and go to look to see what else is box and then I hear a loud crack of lightening hitting the sky. Sounded like when the troll fell in the bathroom at my first year at Hogwarts. The sound of thunder rumbled the house and then the power went out. Well, just wonderful. I stand up and try to turn around, tripping over a box.
"For Merlin sake!" I yell, holding my ankle.
"Hermionniee?" Krum said, poking his head through the attic entryway.
"Over here," I sigh holding my ankle still. It starts to swell.
"Are you okay?" He said, finding me and flicking his wand, "Lumos."
"Yes, I think I just twisted my ankle," I said, sitting against the attic beam. Krum waves his hand over my ankle and it instantly feels better.
"Better?" He smiles.
"Yes, thanks," I return the smile and sit, having my knees against chest. I wrap my arms around them.
"Your mom asked me to find you," he said, sitting front of me.
"Yeah, sorry I got distracted," I faked a smile. Do you think you can get that box by the window and grab the box labeled candles?"
"Ve could just use magic you know?"he smiled, walking over to the window.
"We try to keep it low key here in the muggle world, not to raise any suspicion. It would look odd our house begin the only one with electricity on the street, no?" I laughed.
"Very true, bright witch," he said walking back with the candles.
"So, how are you liking it here? You've been here a few weeks now?"I asked taking the box of candles.
"I like it very much," your family iz very welcoming," he smiled helping me up to my feet.
"They are the nicest couple you'll ever meet," I smile heading down the attic stairs.
"Oh Hermione dear! Thank you, are you ok? I heard you yell?" My mom said taking the box of candles.
"I'm fine mum," I said, walking to my room.
"Hermione, take these candles for you and Viktor ok? I'm going to go give these to your father," she said handing me a few candles and leaving. I take the candles to my room and put them on my desk. I light them and sit back on my bed. Viktor walks thought he doorway and sits on my desk chair.
"I like your room,"he smiles looking around. He looks on my desk and sees the picture of George. "Have you talked to him?"
"No, he hasn't responded in a while," I sigh laying down on my bed.
"Are you okay? I can send it for you if you like?" He suggests, holding the letter.
"No, I can handle it but thanks for the offer," I get up from the bed and take the letter. I put it in my nightstand and sit on my bed. Viktor walks out the door and comes back a couple minutes late with a bottle of something.
"I figured you could use this, you seem sad. Drink with me all night, forget all about depression of days." he said walking over handing me a glass. He sits at the edge of my bed and pours. "I solve quite a few problems with this magic," he says, pouring into my glass.
"Oh, what is it?" I ask smelling it.
"Homemade Rakia from Bulgaria, my mother makes her own. It's a strong and fruity alcohol. Very good. Many Bulgarians distill their own rakia but it can be quite strong so, vith caution my witch beauty," he winked, lifting his glass slightly before chugging the whole thing.
"I thought you said with caution?" I laugh, looking into the glass.
"I am thick, I have strong tolerance," he laughs deeply. I hear the rain start to pour down on the window. So loud that it seemed like it would break the glass. I look over to my desk and see the picture I was looking at.
"Cheers," I smile and chug the glass. The taste of the rakia hit like a plum pudding bomb in my mouth. "Wow, this is very good," I smile.
"More?" He asks, tipping the bottle my way.
"Yes," I smile and we drink. We talk for hours while the rain poured in the street. He talks about his family at home. His reason for becoming a Seeker. Apparently he was bullied heavily due to begin smaller as a child. He would fly everyday by himself, anywhere he could go. Once he started to fill out he tried out for the Quidditch team and the rest was history. Quidditch changed his life and he doesn't know where he would be without it. Next thing we know we hear a crash in the hallway. We race out and see that an object had flown into the window, from the storm. The metal piece had shattered the window and rain is flooding the hall.
"Krum use your wand, hurry," I yelled while grabbing the metal piece that flew through. The water was drenching us. Viktor waves his wand and the window repairs instantly. I sigh and sit on the ground soaking wet. He sits down next to me and we both start laughing so hard it hurt.
"Vell, could have been worse," he says, laughing lightly.
"Hermione! Are you okay I heard glass… oh dear, you guys are soaked," my dad said looking down at us.
"Yes, we're fine dad, this metal piece busted through the window. Don't worry Krum fixed it," I said holding out the metal.
"Well, thank you my boy," my dad smiled after taking the metal piece. "I love magic," he chuckled before heading back downstairs.
"Magic," I laugh again before sighing.
"You feeling better?" Krum said, standing up and grabbing my hands to help me up. I slip and he catches me, looking into my eyes.
"Yes, a little," I smile. He holds me upright and kisses me softly on the lips. He pulls away and lets go of my hands.
"Goodnight Hermione," he smiles while waving his wand to clean up the water. He walks into his room and shuts the door leaving me there, speechless.
I walk to my room and shut the door. I lay the back of my head against it before going to my desk and picking up the picture of George and I at the train station. I smile, wiping a tear that starts to fall down my cheek. I take the picture and put it in my nightstand. I lay down on my bed, listening to the thunder roar..
*Present time outside George's flat*
"Hermione!" George yells over the thunder roaring in the sky. I look over to him and he has an umbrella.
"Sorry are you ready?" I smile, walking over to him. He hovers the umbrella over me and we start walking into the storm.
I love this weather.
