Hi readers!
Soo… Thank you to the 10 of you who reviewed. Unfortunately, I'm still unable to read the reviews and I'm hoping with all my heart that it's just a glitch and I'll be able to read them soon.
Update on my school life: I went to school. It was okay…. They're taking the social distance thing really seriously as well which is good. Other than that a girl knocked over my glass water bottle and it cracked open and spilled water all over the floor. :'( May my bottle rest in peace.
I also created a Wattpad account recently and I'm uploading this story onto there as well though so far I've only uploaded the first chapter.
I also know that last chapter was a train wreck. I was so eager to upload it I didn't proofread it first, so I'll have to edit that once this is uploaded I guess!
Back to today's chapter we have finally arrived at the winter dance! Yayyyy! So it will most likely be in 2 or 3 parts and in as much detail as my tiny brain can handle.
Okay so let's go! Hope you enjoy it!
The girls were at Piper's getting ready for the Winter Dance. Thalia had been finished a half hour ago since she didn't wear makeup and couldn't be forced to either whereas Piper was finishing applying it to Annabeth who had given in because Piper shot her puppy dog eyes. Luckily, Piper wasn't make her wear too much since she had so much 'natural beauty' which the brunette repeated several times.
Calypso, Katie, Hazel, Thalia, Annabeth and Piper all climbed into the limo once they were ready. Silena was already at the dance since she was on the head of the planning committee and had to be there early to make sure the decorating and making of refreshments didn't go absolutely haywire. Reyna was already there too being class president.
"I can't believe you managed to me to go to this stupid dance again!" Thalia groaned fidgeting in her seat.
"Come on Thals you go every year and its never that bad is it?" Piper shot back.
There were several protests to this.
"Annabeth help me out here!" Piper said.
Annabeth didn't want to say anything though. She was too nervous about the fact that she had a date. Percy Jackson. The one boy she was supposed to be avoiding so she wouldn't get her heart broken again. What had she been thinking when she had said yes to him?
Flashback*
The pair were stood outside Annabeth's house because Percy was walking her home.
"So, um Annabeth you know how you said you didn't have a date to the winter dance earlier?"
"Yeah." She said hesitantly.
"Well would you want to be my date?"
She turned around and looked at him. She could see in his eyes so much hope and nervousness. She couldn't say no to him.
She smiled, "I'd love to!" Before hugging him and walking through the open door.
Flashback end*
Annabeth hadn't even realised they had arrived at the school because she had been so lost in her thoughts. She took a deep breath before putting on a smile she had practiced many times in the mirror. It wasn't that she didn't want to go to the dance it was just she was nervous about what it could mean for the future. As in her future…. With Percy.
'Stop overthinking things!' She lectured herself in her thoughts.
Her and her friends walked in sitting down at a table that had been reserved for them by courtesy of Silena. The dance was taking place in the gym which was huge. The room was covered from top to bottom in balloons, streamers, tinsel and random sprigs of mistletoe. The decorations were blue, silver and white and an all-girl band had been hired called The Hunters.
Piper pulled her phone out after hearing a text message alert.
"It's the boys." She told them. "They're going to be delayed since Leo accidentally put his shirt on as trousers by accident."
The rest of them shook their heads and rolled their eyes leaving Annabeth to think that this was typical Leo behaviour.
"Well, why don't we have fun while they're not here! Girl time without them!" Katie said.
They all agreed laughing and getting up to dance apart from Thalia who had to be dragged to the dance floor.
Eventually Silena and Reyna joined them and after being filled in on why the boys had been delayed they danced too.
Slowly lots of people began to arrive filling the dance floor as they came in. The girls sat down and drank punch made bye Miranda Gardner who was also a Junior and on the dance committee alongside Silena.
They had each downed 2 glasses by the time the boys arrived.
They walked in and Percy and Annabeth caught each-other's eyes.
Green on grey.
It felt like the whole world had stopped just for this one moment to happen.
'Wow she looks beautiful!' He thought.
'Wow he looks handsome' She thought.
And the world started to move again.
Okay so there you have it! Part one of the winter dance. There are going to be 2 more parts to this. They'll probably be a lot longer too.
As always feel free to leave a review!
Cya soon! Byee!
