Hehe I love working on this story...plus I've loved Snape since forever! XD I know he is a right Bayard in the books...but I don't care! Enjoy
Amelia Rose Malfoy, I kept repeating the name in my head. It all felt like a dream, pleasant by nature..but at the same time I was not someone who believed only good things happen to people. I believed firmly that life was an extreme rollercoaster that never ended, you had your beautiful and glorious peaks; where the best views could be seen. Then you go plummeting down, and you have to slowly trudge your way back up. I was waiting for that plummet, don't get me wrong. My heart, mind, and soul were all enjoying the fantastic view; but again I was not a fool. Professor Snape didn't waste his time on those, after all.
Nevertheless, I would enjoy this sunrise; before whatever night came my way. With my hand firmly in my father's hand, he and Draco accompanied me to a Muggle bookstore. Same one that my brother and I had frequented last year, but my official Dad wanted to see it. Plus, we had time to kill before the Seer would be at the house.
We weren't there long, just long enough for me to snatch up the original Alice in Wonderland. It sure felt as if I could relate to the young blond girl in the book, this past year, with the exception of being petrified; had been a wonderland. However, I did have my thoughts on if Dumbledore knew I would be attacked. I couldn't be sure however, and though it would be healthy to voice my opinion...I kept it firmly behind my shut lips.
I read my book, when we returned home. After I filled out a form, on what extra classes I wished to take. To be honest, I wanted to take everything Hogwarts had to offer; which earned me a few eye rolls. Except from McGonagall, who had a small smile on her face. "I will find a way for you to take, everything you want." She told me, before she had departed. She was nice enough to deliver both my brother's, and I's lists.
Professor Snape seemed to eye me for some time while I read. Looking to the clock, before he cleared his throat. "Miss Malfoy, it is time for your lost Occlumency lesson. We will work, right until the Seer arrives." He explained to me, once he had my undivided attention. "When that is finished, I will teach you a new Defense charm."
"Yes sir." I replied, grinning up at him.
"Tomorrow morning, we will work on the Potions you have missed." He added, which made me even more giddy.
Grinning at him softly, I nodded. "I look forward to it."
He smirked, before rolling his onyx orbs. "Quite. Now, I think we should focus on communication once again….though you could not answer me..you could hear me." I listened to each word he gave, clinging to it as if I was a fly to honey. "We have a link, probably due to how many times we see each other during the week….we can use that to start with private communication."
I nodded softly. "Will I be able to eventually, communicate with-"
"Anyone you need to? Yes." He replied. "It is a useful technique, for many reasons."
"Alright." I spoke, taking a deep breath..as I knew I needed to paint a picture of what I would allow Snape to see, and block what he wasn't allowed.
He raised an eyebrow, before we began. "Listen for my voice, then focus on it. Picture a cord, connecting both of us." He explained. "I believe this had been our problem before, I did not have you picture a link."
It was easy to picture a black cord that glowed like a black light. Maybe it came from my love of art, but imagination was easy to make real for me. "I've got it." I replied simply.
A simple smirk played on his lips. 'Very good.' His voice filled my head, even as he stayed silent.
Watching the imaginary cord, while taking a deep breath. 'Thank you.'
His eyes widened. 'Should have used the cord image, when we first tried this.'
'I agree.'
Dark onyx eyes narrowed. "Don't get smart...do not pick up on that Malfoy trait."
"I'm sorry, I was just agreeing...that imagination works best with me." I replied simply. "I do read a lot of fantasy after all."
'Indeed.' He sent, before his gaze drifted to the door. 'I believe that we can move along quite quickly, I will get your father. See if the connection with him is just as strong.' I nodded, while the teacher I admired went to grab the man I looked to for protection.
The next two hours went by, and I found I could communicate with my family and Snape. Though it did seem to weird Draco out a bit, as I could communicate with him; but he could not respond. 'We can use it to mess with Potter.' He grinned at the suggestion and nodded.
"I like the way you think." He said aloud, which had all three adults a bit worried.
"We may have created Satan's dynamic duo." Snape muttered.
"It will be worse once she has the matching blonde hair." My mother replied, which caught the two males off guard as they looked at me. "Amelia asked before we left, she wishes to look like a Malfoy as much as possible."
"She already does to my eyes." Once again, I was beaming at Snape. "The Malfoy's Princess."
"Slytherin's Lioness." Draco added instantly.
My father moved then, picking me up. "My baby girl."
I couldn't help but giggle, as the older blonde male held me close. Only for us to be interrupted by the knocking on the door. Informing us all, that the Seer was here. "Amelia." My mother whispered, while I was placed down. "Please go into my study, the Seer will be with you shortly."
"Yes, Mummy." I replied, she smiled while kissing my head.
"We will charm your hair blonde before bed." She told me softly, while gently pointing me to the right room. "I will see you in a bit, my sweet Flower."
"I love you, Mum." I told her, before disappearing into the study. I didn't get to come into this room all too often. My father's yes, but only when his door was open...which wasn't a whole lot.
Looking around the beautiful grey Victorian lace wallpapered room, it screamed my mother to a tee. The furniture was all either green velvet, or black ebony wood. Intricate silver decorative furniture, such as lamps, and a full length mirror upon the wall could be seen. It was Slytherin pride, that was for damn sure. My gaze however, locked on something else however. In a silver and black metal frame, was the picture I gave her...the very first Christmas I had stayed with them. Who knew after that fateful winter, that just a few months later I would be living with them...and a year after I would be a Malfoy.
I could still hear the words within my head, that caused me to fully trust the woman..almost instantly. "It is alright dear, I won't abandon you." Standing in the public lavatory, my hair had been a dark wreck from sleeping curled to my father.
"I told you, in time you would know who I was, dear child." A voice suddenly said behind me, turning abruptly at that. My gaze locked upon the cab driver from when I ran away from my birth father. Her dusty red hair had become even lighter since the last time I saw her...but it could have always been like that. It was after all night, when I first laid my eyes on her. "You look much better, there is even a bit of meat on your bones now. Not a whole lot, but enough that you are healthy."
I listened to her ramble about my health a bit, still a little stunned at her. "You were the cabbie." I whispered.
"Well, I knew where you were." She replied simply. "I also knew you had been naturally born with the sight, much as I was….gives you a great advantage from those who are taught to look with their third eye."
"Forgive me, but were you a Hufflepuff?" I asked, and she laughed brightly at that.
"No. I didn't attend Hogwarts, though I wish I had." She told me simply. "Though I was probably the equivalent of a Hufflepuff..I attended the Beauxbatons academy. I was a part of the Bellefeuille house."
I nodded softly. "I'm a Gryffindor…"
"Are you?" She asked in response. "From what I have been told, and what I see within your aura you are much more."
I watched her closely as she assessed me. "You aren't the first person to tell me I belong to more than one house."
She nodded. "I could imagine you hear it an awful lot, however I cannot for the life of me place you in each house. Could be, because like I said I didn't attend Hogwarts...so I do not know the complexity of the houses themselves."
I nodded. "I can understand that…" I whispered, before watching her. "Before, we begin...can I have your name?"
Her brown eyes shot open at this. "Oh my, I see your father followed my instructions well. That is wonderful, and yes dear child you may." She muttered softly. "You may call me Diedra, I do not care for that Professor nonsense..and do not call me Ma'am….I don't like to be reminded of my age."
I laughed at this in amusement. "Alright, Diedra." I replied, as she grinned.
"Now, what I am to help you with is not necessarily to teach you. It is to help make your gift stronger, to fully open your third eye." She began to explain. "I won't bore you with much details, but you and I will meet every Sunday for an unforeseeable future."
Nodding softly. "What will I need to do."
"Firstly, I want you to find someone you trust. That you can speak about your visions with, I also want you to write them down in a journal." Diedra told me simply. "Also every day, I want you to meditate. It could be before you go to bed, or when you first get up." She told me softly.
"Alright, do I need to perform guided meditations?" I asked, and she shook her head.
"No. Here I have aura crystals with me, I want you to research them..and use them in your meditations each day. You will do this, until you can hopefully recognize everyone's different auras." She explained. "Once you can do that, you will be able to see most people's true intentions."
"What would happen if I forgot, one night?" I asked her.
Her nude lips went into a tight line."Depending on how far along you were, it may not matter..or it could make you start from scratch. Think of it like a potion, if you miscounted the number of stirs."
"Now, your Potions Master has told me you have already accessed your Patronus..you can send messages...and that you are learning new Defense charms and Occlumency." Deidra went on. "I must say I am truly impressed, this will all help you in the future."
That confused me. "Ma'am?"
"I will not disclose what I have seen, Amelia. A seers' sight is their own, we may not necessarily benefit from it...we may even be able to help others with it...but only we decide when to reveal what we have seen." She told me simply, I remembered Dumbledore saying the same thing. "You ultimately must make the call, yes you can control if you see it...who lives and who dies. That is a decision you may have to make in the future, but when making that decision...you have to think of the future."
"How do you make such a difficult decision?" I asked.
Her eyes softened, before looking down. "You lose many nights of sleep, for instance. If I had not picked you up when I did, you would have been caught in a police shoot out..ultimately being hit by a stray bullet." My eyes flew open at this reveal. "I chose to stop, and pick you up...because I had seen the effect of what the world would be like without you." Her words left me in the dark there, as I realized I had been brushed with the fate of death...and I hadn't known it. One decision saved my life...and now I was left to wonder if I had been killed, what would have happened to Draco...to Snape..to my mother, father, and friends.
0.o.0
Diedra had left a few hours ago, leaving me to the teachings of Snape once again. However I was unfocused, and it annoyed him greatly. I didn't like causing any of his annoyance, but my mind still drifted to what the Seer had told me.
"Miss Malfoy." I heard the deep voice of my most cherished Professor. "You need to focus, this is a very complicated charm."
"I'm sorry…." I whispered, my head going down. I was disappointed in myself, as I tried not to weep. Still thinking of what could have happened, I knew it was pointless because it didn't. "I just can't get something Diedra said out of my head."
"Well do enlighten me." He snapped, obviously annoyed.
I met his dark eyes, before falling into sobs. "When I ran away from my birth father..she told me that I had originally been fated to meet the lead of a stray bullet." I replied. "So close to death-"
"I see." He said cutting me off, his annoyance seemed to disappear. I had heard how he had been when I was petrified, but we were much closer than we were last summer. Would he have cared? "Amelia." I looked back at him, with a bit of shock as he used my first name. "You should have told me, I would not have pushed….I would…"
"It's okay Professor, you didn't know. I thought I would have been able to think about the lesson once we started, but it's hard to think of anything else." I whispered. "I know it doesn't matter now, because that's the past..and because of her decision she gave me a future….she used that as an example."
"An example?" He asked.
"A seer has the ability to see when someone will die, and they must make a decision to either save or leave them." I explained softly. "I fear the day that I will be put in such a decision."
He nodded. "Look at me." His voice came after a brief silence. I did as asked. "I can't give you all the answers, but all you must do is ask."
I smiled at him. "Can we resume the lesson?" I asked.
"Are you sure?" He asked, to which I nodded.
"Yes, thank you...for letting me talk." I whispered, he looked at me for a long moment. It must have been strange for someone to thank him, which only caused a rush of sadness to fill me. "I trust you."
He inhaled, before he repeated the lesson I had missed. "Very well, I will be teaching you how to duplicate yourself. This is not to be confused with Gemino." He told me. "This is a wandless and voiceless spell."
"Wandless...excellent." I whispered, and he smirked.
"I do not expect you to use it on Potter, though I will not condemn it." He told me calmly.
Watching, I noticed his fingers barely twitched..before there were multiple Snape's around the room. "Now...can you guess which one is me?" He asked, his voice was much
"No." I replied. "I am guessing you have already moved about."
"You are correct, but still give it a try." He replied, nodding softly. I locked my gaze on each clone, before noting that none of them had light in their eyes.
"You aren't here." I replied simply.
"How can you tell?" He asked, couldn't help but wonder if he was impressed.
Swallowing my nerves, I gave one more once over. "The eyes...they are missing light...If I wasn't close to them I may not notice...or maybe if I didn't spend a whole lot of time with you..I wouldn't." A black cord appeared before my gaze, glowing with a pale grey light. I followed the cord to the chair. "You're sitting in the chair."
He turned the chair around, as the clones disappeared. An eyebrow raised. "Outstanding….though your sight is cheating."
"It can't be cheating, when it is a part of me." I replied simply with a grin. His eyes narrowed, before a smirk played on his lips.
"You would have made a fine Slytherin." He stated.
"Not honorary by now?" I asked.
He smirked again. "I suppose you are."
"Works for me."
Do you know what time it is? I know you do.
1) What do you think went through Snape's head when Amelia confided in him about what Diedra told her?
2) How will Lucius react to the news..if he is told...in your opinion?
3) What do you think Amelia's Bogart be?
4) Do you think Amelia and Professor Lupin will get along?
