PJ and Alex had been parents for ten months. They loved it. Julia was getting big. She could crawl and she loved to babble. Alex had just come home from a shift. Julia looked up at him and smiled.
"Ga." She said.
"There's daddy's precious." He said smiling. "Come here." He picked her up and kissed her on the cheek. "Hi Julia." "Did you have a good day today?"
"Da."
"Yeah?" "Where's mommy?"
"Making dinner honey." PJ said from the kitchen. Alex went into the kitchen. "Hi."
"Hi." He went up to her. They kissed.
"How was work?"
"Good."
They'd just finished dinner.
"You go relax." Alex said. "I'll give Julia a bath and put her to bed."
"Are you sure?"
"Yeah." He kissed her and picked up Julia "Say night night to mommy."
"Night night Julia mommy loves you." She kissed her on the cheek.
Two weeks later PJ and Alex both had the day off. They were in the kitchen. Julia was napping. PJ was making lunch. She suddenly felt very sick and threw up in the sink. Alex got up to hold her hair. When she was done she was rinsing her mouth out.
"Sweetie, I think you're pregnant again?" Alex said.
"We've been using protection though."
"Do you remember that night after the party at Freddy's two months ago?"
"Yeah." "We were drunk and we had sex but we used a condom, I remember."
"Remember when we woke up?"
"Oh my god." She said remembering they hadn't used a condom the second time.
"Yeah." "Want me to go pick up a pregnancy test?"
"Yeah."
"Ok." He kissed her.
PJ took the test. Alex was waiting for her Julia. PJ came into the room with the test.
"It's positive." She said smiling. "Two, oh boy."
"Julia, you're gonna have a little brother or sister." Alex said happily. "PJ I love you." He kissed her.
"I love you too Alex."
