Alessia Whiterock, 29
Head Gamemaker.
Alessia opened the door to Genevieve's office. The president was sitting behind her large, imposing desk, and Alessia walked over, tossing a file on the desk.
"Evening Lessie, what do you have for me on this fine evening?" Genevive asked, looking interested.
"It's the file on all the reaped tributes for this year, I figured we would go over them together." Genevive nodded, and Alessia pulled a chair up, opening the file.
"So we begin in One with Jade Amberlynn. According to her teachers, she's a bit of a spitfire." Alessia pointed at a picture of the angelic-looking face of the girl.
"Amberlynn? That's a familiar name. Is she related to any other previous tributes?"
"Yes, she is, her older brother Mallard Amberlynn was in the 198th Games. He died third place, by the hand of the Eleven male, Amos Payne who's the older brother of one of the Eleven tributes." Alessia pulled a picture of her brother out and Genevive nodded thoughtfully.
"Make sure to keep an eye on both of them."
"Already done. And now we have Sarmiento Polar Torres." Alessia pulled his info out and tapped a picture of him.
"From what we know about him, his family is on the poorer side of the population. He's also highly proficient with various poisons, traps and knives. He's been top of his class at the Academy for his entire tenure, and he's highly determined once he sets his mind on something."
"Sounds good, no worries about him. Who's next?" Genevive shifted in her chair, leaning forward with interest.
"Ah, that would be Scipia Karthus." Alessia tapped her picture.
"She's quite the looker isn't she?" Genevive noted with a slight laugh. Alessia smiled and nodded.
"She's also highly skilled with weapons, but a bit of a party girl as well. The academy trainers don't think that'll be a problem though, she's known for being very ambitious and vicious."
"Seems fine, just make sure there's no alcohol around for her to get a hold of, just in case." Genevive said. Alessia jotted a note down in her notebook and pulled the next file out.
"Next we have Matthias Laune. Typical Two guy, he's been training from a young age. However, we did discover he moved in with his uncle, Quickstone Laune a few years ago. We suspect his father may have kicked him out, but we don't know anything for sure. He's also into drama and is an aspiring comedian."
"Seems good, I'm not concerned about him. Next?"
"Next up is Janna Coil. Smart girl, she's getting top marks in all her classes. She's suspected of being responsible for the explosion and subsequent fire in the science wing of her school along with a few of her friends." Alessia pulled a picture of her out, and then the pictures of her friends and twin brother.
"Twins huh? Brings back memories of me and Gerard." Genevive gestured to the picture of the trio on her desk.
"How is Gee, is he still in Two?" Alessia asked. The trio had been very close as kids, and after Gerard left the Capitol to watch over the Districts as Head Peacekeeper, she hadn't seen him.
"Oh yes, he's in Two dealing with the potential rebel threat." Alessia nodded, tossing Janna's file onto the done pile.
"Now onto Malec Bridon. Normal kid, but in a similar situation as Matthias. He moved in with his boyfriend, Yelsel who he volunteered for."
"Ah, I see."
"There's not much else we know about him, he got average marks in school, and works a basic factory job."
"I see. What about the District Four pair?"
"Molly McNamara and Cressian Vanderhall. Neither are the chosen volunteers from Four, but both volunteered."
"That's interesting, how did that happen."
"Well, Molly unintentionally volunteered for her friend Darya. From what we've gathered on her she's fairly normal but untrained. She's getting average grades, and she seems to enjoy art."
"Reminds me of you twenty years ago."
"Yeah, I can see it. Onto Cress, he's been training for a few years with his older brother who was slated to be the volunteered tribute."
"Any particular theory as to why he volunteered?"
"Nope, but according to some of his teachers and some of the trainers say he can be a little attention-seeking, but other than that, no."
"Five next?" Alessia nodded in confirmation.
"First up is Beck Vars-Dyer seems to be a normal kid likes to party a little but nothing too outstanding about him. He also has a pet crab which is seemingly insignificant, but I think it's really funny." Genevive laughed a little at this.
"And Armitage VanBreck. He was reaped as a female but identifies as trans"
"That's fine, anything interesting about his home life?"
"Nope but we did discover he recently proposed to his girlfriend."
"That's sweet." Genevive said, twisting her own wedding ring.
"I suppose, but not exactly in the circumstances he's in."
"District Six is up next, starting out with Alexzandra Laison. They use they-them pronouns, and you may recognize the name because their mother went missing about a month ago. It's big news in Six."
"Yeah, I remember that. Have they found her yet?"
"No, they searched the entire District. The Peacekeepers there think she may have tried to escape the District."
"Ah, I see. Do they have any rebel ties themself?"
"Not that we know of, no, although they have been seen in the shadier areas of Six purchasing some questionable substances."
"A morphling addict?"
"Yes ma'am, we'll be putting extra precautions into place for them." Genevive nodded at this and turned back to the files.
"Ritchwell, that name's familiar."
"It should be, one of the biggest companies in Six is run by his father, Basil Ritchwell."
"Basil, yes. My grandfather knew his grandfather." Genevive pushed back blonde hair from her face, gazing at the picture of Harry.
"Seven next? Might as well make some coffee, this is gonna take a while." Genevive stood from her chair, making her way over to a nearby coffee maker as Alessia continued speaking.
"Next up is Tovah Pines, daughter of a mortuary. From what her teachers have told us, she's obsessed with death, and this is only rumours, but she might've tried to summon something using witchcraft."
"What? Are you serious? That's batshit!" Genevive said, pouring two cups of coffee.
"I know right? Her district partner is a little more normal though, a kid called Sylvan Walton. They were reaped as a male, but prefer to go by they-them pronouns." Genevive nodded, walking carefully across the office with two coffees in hand. Alessia took one, sipping it carefully to make sure it wasn't too hot.
"Good cup of coffee, thanks. Anyways Sylvan seems normal enough, they come from a middle-class family, the usual from Seven." Genevive picked up the picture of them nodding.
"And now Eight, starting off with Scarlett Hale. Her father is a principal at a local school, and she has oh wow, four siblings. Quadruplets geez."
"My poor mom had enough of a bad time with me and Gee, I wonder how their mom does it" Genevive noted, shaking her head slightly.
"Oh and Scarlett here also has a history of running away from home, but she usually comes back in a few hours, or is found."
"We'll have to keep an eye on that too then, note it." Alessia noted that in her notebook as well.
"And her district partner, Saxony Paccino. His family runs a local body purifying business." Genevive made a bit of a face at this.
"Anything stand out about him?"
"Uh no, he seems pretty introverted though, not really caring for other kids his age."
"He'll be interesting to watch in the Games since he's probably used to bodies at this point." Alessia nodded in agreement, also noting that in her notebook.
"Now onto the Nine pair, Emmerson Finch and Tima Bluebell."
"They're both young aren't they?"
"Yes ma'am, Emmerson is fourteen and Tima is twelve."
"They'll get along just swimmingly with Geoff then won't they?"
"Most likely yes, we're having Malark keep an eye on him since this is his first year mentoring. Emmerson is a pretty goofy kid, and he likes drama, and Tima is a typical little girl, who's doing well in school. Average both of them."
"Ten's next? We're almost done." Alessia nodded and sipped her coffee.
"Next is Noah Skall and Keenan Briggan. Noah is pretty typical, he dropped out of school at a young age to help support his family. We've had some reports he may be connected to the meth ring in Ten, but nothing concrete except he's been seen hanging out with a small-time dealer. Genevive nodded, sipping her coffee.
"And Keenan, an interesting kid. He identifies as trans but was reaped as a female so we'll be using he-him pronouns. His mother and father were shot for suspected rebel connections when he was eight and he was then sent to an orphanage which he ran away from soon after. He got himself into one of the street gangs, and he ended up getting caught for trying to steal food."
"And he went to the detention center in Ten then I'm assuming."
"Yes he did, and he's been there for four years since he was eleven."
"Poor kid, we need to crack down on those child gangs." Genevive pulled a notebook out, opening it and grabbing a pen, scribbling a note down.
"Eleven now. Alvino Thornton, born into a lower-class family, his parents and siblings work in the fields, so does he. He's not much of a socializer at school though. And then there's Briony Payne. Her brother died in the same Games as Jade's. She's been in trouble a few times, mostly for pickpocketing and stealing."
"Is the brother that died Amos Payne?"
"Yup, so we should keep an eye on that pair." Genevive sighed, pinching the bridge of her nose.
"And to finish off the bunch, we have Iara Novaia and Fervin Nowledge. Iara is a bit of a party girl, and she's often found drinking, so we'll be keeping the alcohol away from her. As for Fervin, his family has quite a bit of money, they run a chain of shops in town. An interesting note is his dad committed suicide in front of him at the age of two, but he doesn't seem to remember anything about it so we aren't worried about it."
"Poor kid, that sounds horrible." Both nodded.
"And there you have the cast of the two hundred and third Hunger Games." Alessia tossed the last files onto the pile.
And there's your tribute recap. Sorry if it got a little repetitive, some tributes are just more interesting in this situation lol. I'll add points standings next chapter bc I'm a goof lol. Remember, send me your check-in answers, the question can be found in the chapter before. I'll see y'all next chapter for goodbyes and train rides with Armitage, Janna and Sarmiento.
