Aizawa swept his palm over his face.

This was a literal nightmare.

"Eraser, the girl was out of class for three days. Shouldn't you have paid a home visit by then? She hadn't called or even sent someone up with a note." Recovery Girl pinned him with a sharp glare. "That child suffered a severe injury to her side. It'd already partially healed by the time she came to me but I'm concerned at the damage she's doing to herself. You mustn't push her so hard!"

He'd noticed that she'd been a bit more sluggish than usual the other day. He simply thought that she was still feeling ill. He hadn't pieced together that she'd suffered an injury. The girl had hid it fairly well.

The elderly woman's eyes thinned at him, "Even more worrying is the burn wound on her side. I believe that someone may have tried to use a fire quirk to cauterize her wound." She pushed the folder into his awaiting hands. "That young lady was in grave danger and someone saved her life. I may not know everything that's going on but if she's being targeted then you must step in. She is still your student."

He glanced at the image. His stomach gave a hard twist.

The flesh over the girl's side had healed somewhat but a wound the size of his palm still marred her skin. A scar had formed and burned flesh peeled at the edges. It wasn't a location that would cause immediate death but the injury was serious. There was no doubt that the person who'd done this had meant her a great deal of harm.

He set the folder back onto her desk, "I'll talk to Higurashi later today. She missed class this morning so she might be taking the day off to recover."

Recovery Girl was correct about one thing.

He needed to be more involved.

His method of teaching her wasn't working. Kagome had gotten more sluggish and less inspired than she had been. Perhaps a part of that was him seeing too much of his old self in her. He wanted her to go beyond her limitations and become something more. He saw potential in her every day but she wasn't capable of reaching those heights just yet.

The nurse sighed, "We knew from the start that her situation was going to be a delicate one. You mustn't treat her so harshly." A tiny fist slammed against his stomach. "You need to build that child's confidence!"

He winced at the slight pain that emanated from his abdomen.

She wasn't wrong.

He needed to change gears when it came to Kagome's training. Perhaps adding in positive feedback would boost her moral.

"I'll talk to her this evening if she doesn't show up by lunch." His eyes hardened, "If she is being targeted then we'll need to get the police involved."

Being Shinigami's daughter was bound to have its own set of drawbacks. Both in the hero society and among other villains.

Aizawa turned on his heel, "Keep me updated on her progress."

Recover Girl snorted in response.

Something had to change.
