(Periwinkle's P.O.V.) -Three years later-

I smiled softly as I got home from work, carrying Tage in a toddler carrier, hip style as he's a 2-year old. He couldn't fly yet through there has been attempts of him fluttering. I was so glad that Melody made the baby/toddler carrier shift-proof from human size to fairy size which I desperately needed.

I landed besides the front door, speaking softly, "You did good, Tage, sweetheart. Are you hungry for a snack?". Tage nodded with a big smile, "Hungry, grapes, Mummy!". I chuckled as I kissed him softly on the forehead, "Grapes it is, then.".

I then opened the door, closing it lightly after, and coming into the hallway, turning right into the living part of the house, and stopped instantly when I saw my eldest daughter making out with Abby on the couch. Of course, I was surprised and curious, and I was about to interrupt them when my son called out first, "Kay, Abby!".

Of course, Tage adored everybody, and I couldn't blame him as he's clearly happy to see them through I can see that he was curious. His excited tone instantly stopped the girls' actions, and they were completely in 'deer in the headlights' mode as they looked up in slight fear and embarrassment.

Kayla gasped, "Mom!". I sighed softly with a raised eyebrow, "I am not upset. I am willing to listen.". Kayla and Abby looked at each other, holding hands firmly with the signs of reassurance as Abby whispered to her lowly before Kayla nodded with a small smile.

Kayla looked up at me, "I am in love with Abby.". I blinked softly, "Come sit at the table. I got to put Tage down for his snack.". Tage nodded, "Yummy grapes!". Chuckles came from the girls as I walked on to the table, to the high chair as I unloaded Tage from the toddler carrier into it.

I freed the toddler carrier from my body as I noticed the girls joining the table while I headed to the kitchen, grabbing a container of minced grapes from the icebox, and then going back, putting the snack before Tage who shrieked in delight.

I sat down across from the girls, "Explain, one at a time.". Abby exhaled deeply, apparently going first. "As you know, I was quite excited when I heard about Kayla asking for help with her fascination of technology, and when I came to know her throughout these months all long ago, it just clicked when I realized she needed a mentor, someone who knows technology, and ever since, I never regretted it.",

"I had some bad luck with guys lately, and sure, there was a bit of one-time dating with a couple of girls...But it never completely clicked for me until a incident in the lab, back in the city...", Abby explained lightly with a couple of smiles and a sheepish look. I nodded in understanding as Abby said that she is bisexual years ago.

Kayla played with her hair lightly as she sighed lightly, "I loved being mentored, learning so much about technology and science, and I enjoyed her companionship over the years. I guess it all began two years ago when I was 15. You remember that I was having a birthday weekend in the city after I spent Friday here, yeah?".

I hummed lightly as I nodded, "I sure do. I believe Abby surprised you with a tour at a museum, correct?". Kayla smiled warmly, "Yep! We were exploring this gift shop, and when I looked for a plasma ball, I found out the store was empty of them. I was sad as I loved checking them out, and I wanted a mini version for my room..I was surprised when Abby actually handed me a plasma ball, and found out that she actually asked someone to check the back, buying it for me.",

"When I saw her smile at my happiness, that was when I realized that I was actually crushing on her as I wanted her to look like that all the time, smiling. And ever since then, I was constantly looking at her when she wasn't looking, smiling when she discovered something, or touching places that she had initiated contact on, like my shoulder and hand.", Kayla chuckled lightly.

I blinked in surprise, "That's why you asked that question on your 16th birthday about how to realize that somebody's actually in love.". Kayla smiled sheepishly, "Yeah..After Abby gave me a great present with that beaming smile, I've fallen hard, and I was looking for a opportunity to tell her yet I was freaking out that she wouldn't take me seriously as I just turned 16.".

Abby then took her turn, "It was a month after that, and we were back in the city, doing stuff in the lab, and all. The day was starting out as normal, having breakfast, talking back and forth for feedback in our current projects. I was running some tests, and I was quite excited as I was approaching a milestone...I was too comfortable, I think, and I was going for the final test, and I must have grabbed a wrong bottle as the project needed fuel by that point...",

"I remember this clunking sound, and I was confused at first before I then heard a loud hiss. I called out to Kayla to run as I turned around, and then this thundering explosion came, and all I knew in those few moments was my body flying, got contact into one of the tables, and my ears ringing so loudly... Next thing I knew, I was opening my eyes weakly upon Kayla who was crying, and clenching something somewhere on my body which I realized by the next second was my chest.",

Kayla bit her lip hard with a sharp exhale, "There was shrapnel on the side, and I thought I was losing her as there was so much blood...I had a phone with my other hand, yelling into it at the paramedics to hurry up...When I heard her speak to me, I was then sobbing loudly...telling her to hold on...She couldn't keep her eyes open, and I was pushing all I could into that damn injury.."...

Abby sighed heavily, "It was so hard to hold on. I tried, honestly, but I couldn't. Last thing I heard as I blacked out was those three little words...three little words that tumbled inside my mind as I went into dreamland...",

"Next thing I knew, I was waking up to the walls of a hospital room, and then I saw her...She was sleeping besides me, holding my hand, and I remembered her face when she spoke those words just as I was blacking out. Her voice convinced me that she was truly serious of it, that she meant it...I then woke her up with a touch to her face, smiling weakly as I said her name.".

Kayla exhaled deeply, "It wasn't deep when they did surgery on her, but it was fricking close...I was awake the whole night, drinking soda, praying that I would see her smile again...After she returned from surgery, I was then able to stay by her side, holding her hand, and eventually falling asleep. When I felt her touch and heard her voice, I woke up to that beautiful, wonderful smile, I then knew everything was okay. Not great, but okay.".

I hummed lightly, "Then you talked about your relationship, knowing the rules of the city, keeping it low over there while there's no rules about it here...". Abby nodded with a bittersweet smile, "Bisexual and lesbians are gradually accepted. It was the age gap, that was the problem of it...Of course, we shared a apartment, but separate bedrooms...I knew Kayla wouldn't be allowed to be with me if everybody knows since she was barely 16 by then, but we kept it low, and we only shared contact in the apartment when it's dark and high up there.".

Kayla smiled lightly, "We learned more about each other, falling in love every day, and we came to a agreement that we would let family and friends know once I am respectably 18, which is only one more year, thankfully. Neverland is our sanctuary, and there is so much hidden around here which we are safely able to kiss and all. I thought you were still working, Mom, and that's why we were in here today after some time in Abby's lab here.".

I popped my lips in thought, "It turned out to be a half day as Lord Milori got distracted by the Queen.". Abby blinked in surprise, "Oh, that explains a lot. I saw her coming over into the Winter Woods.". I giggled softly before looking at them seriously with a raised eyebrow.

"But that doesn't tell me one very important thing. Do you truly love each other?", I asked to the point. Kayla and Abby grabbed hands together, and voiced together, "We do.". I exhaled softly at that, and I was to say something further when Tage shrieked out with claps.

"Kay, Abby love! Happy!", Tage giggled loudly, and I chuckled warmly, "Yes, that's what I was thinking too. You two are certainly in love as you make each other happy.".

Kayla exhaled shakily with a sob as Abby hugged her softly with a smile, "I told you that your mother is the most reasonable one out of our parents. She only wants you to be happy as I do.".

"Abby is right, Kayla. You are my daughter, even if you aren't of blood, but you are part of my heart, and I want all my children to be happy and to pursue their dreams, no matter if it's love, work, or else whatsoever.". Kayla tearfully smiled, and I got up, flying over the table to hug her gladly, realizing that the family just got bigger with Abby years ago, never seeing it until now.

I pulled back with a playful, sympathetic smile, "Of course, you will have to tell your father on your birthday next year, no later than that, understand?", referring to the fact that Gaston has been a tad more impatient for birthdays over the years.

Kayla laughed sheepishly as Abby chuckled softly, "At least your little brother was second to know. Gaston will be a tad upset to know that he will be third.", sharing laughter at that as Tage made noise with the empty container happily.
