The Titans came to this island looking for clues to rescue Raven, but instead, all they found was a defeat from old foes that the world believes are dead. Hyena, Mongul, and Terra, this deadly trio had been dead for some time. But on this magical island, they have defeated the Titans. The young heroes wake up finding themselves in the grip of Terra stone hands made from the very earth itself. Titan roll call Kid Flash, Starfire, Wondergirl, Nightwing, Beast Boy, and Cyborg. Each member tries to break free without much success.
"Look at you, just waiting for someone to come up with a last-minute way to free you. It brings me back some good memories. Almost." Terra says while laughing.
"Terra, why are you doing this? You were always one of us, you were our friend." Starfire said.
"You were always the sentimental fool on the team, it is a wonder how you of all people survive on your warrior planet on all."
"Enough about that, why don't you three tell us who you are working for or who is this master that you keep talking about? I can't imagine Mongul calling anyone master."
"Nightwing you talk as if you know me. But you and I have never met, you know nothing about me. Just know this I was one of the most fear women in all the galaxy and I call no one master lightly."
"Everyone is talking like we are old high school friends. But we have a job to do and I say let's get on with it."
"Hyena you never had any patience at all."
"Looks who's talking the fastest kid alive, or should I say the fastest mouth alive."
Terra's eyes glow and the stone hands begin to tighten around the young heroes. Beast Boy had stayed quiet all the while trying to get his bearings back. Now that time was right he turns into a ram and breaks down the walls surrounding him before turning his attention toward Terra before she can act she is struck in the face with a beaver's tail.
Once she loses concentration, the other titans are able to struggle free. Then there is a familiar battle cry heard across the island "Titans Together."
The first time the deadly trio had surprise on their side, but now that the Titans knew who their foes. Mongul was dispatched by the combined might of Cyborg, Wondergirl, and Starfire. Mongul falls and does not get back up. Hyena was fast against Nightwight but against Kid Flash, she had no chance as he administers a nerve pinch to her neck and she is out of the fight. That leaves just Terra.
"No, I am not going to the grave again. I will not let us loose."
In life, some say some events repeat themselves, if that is true then was a young girl name Terra that knew rage and hate, who only again uses her powers to the fullest and loses control. The flying chunks of earth and magma return to the source of the kinetic energy controlling them and is she is buried alive once more.
In the aftermath, as the Titans look on their three fallen combatants, they all disappear and a face appears before them floating in the air. A face that they were all too familiar with. It was the face of Raven 's dad Trigon.
"Once again my daughter's friend, her suppose earth family is trying to keep her from her destiny. Have you children not learn that no matter how many times you try to stop this, she always finds her way back to me."
"No, you always come back and treat or maybe kidnap her. Raven has never returned to you by her own free will."
"You child would think that. You are supposed to be their leader, do you think someone as powerful as Raven could allow themselves to keep being capture by mortals unless she wanted to be? I see you have disposed of my servants, I guess they did not want to return to life as much as they had told me. Pity. It is just as well. My plans will call for everyone on your pathetic planet to follow suit. As soon as Raven my true heir finishes her ascension. No one especially not you children will ever be able to interfere again. Now for my final offer, because I do respect your loyalty to my daughter. Leave this island."
The Titans all stand their ground, no one moves an inch and no words are exchanged. The looks on their collected faces is all that Trigon needs to see. Part of the demon lord respects them, they know that they don't have the power between then to defeat him, but here they stand ready to challenge him in the name of friendship.
"So be it, I gave you children a way out. This island was once my earthly home and as such when I left it I did not leave it unguarded. I held them back earlier to see if my trio of chosen servants could defeat you but since they could not. Prepared to meet your doom, I doubt we see each other again children. Know this I am eternally grateful for you for taking care of my daughter. Despite what you might think, I love my daughter. Now sentinels."
The ground shakes beneath their feet as an opening in the early opens revealing stairs that go down into the earth. Up from these steps are the creatures from myth as well as legend. Cerberus the three-headed dog and his partner the Minotaur. They both growl before charging toward the Titans.
