(This is how I've started every group project email for the past six months, forgive me.)

Hey friends,

I hope this finds you safe and well. I have a couple of update-ish things regarding this fic/my general fic-related creative output that I'm wondering what peoples' thoughts are on.

Quarantine has kind of seen me regress back into my 2010s BoB fandom self, interests-wise, and that has brought with it a desire to do some edits of this fic.

On one hand, this fic as it stands is very much a product of its time, i.e. the time in my life when I wrote it, and that's totally chill. On the other, it is something that I have created that I did recently write a follow-up for (see Ch. 20). And I want it to be the best that it can be! And I know that that isn't entirely realistic. The entire premise of it is, of course, completely and utterly unrealistic. There are some really great OC fics that take a slightly more realistic angle, i.e. ones where the OC isn't actually embedded in E. Co. like Jo is.

I think if I going in aiming to completely redo for as much "accuracy" as possible I'll get overwhelmed. But barring changing the entire premise on which this fic is based, I think there are some edits I could make that would tighten up the story, make some of the early chapters a little less egregious in terms of bending reality, and, of course, fix some typos. As well as add back in some stuff/tie up or get rid of some loose ends that wouldn't have happened if I hadn't basically been writing it chapter-to-chapter/by the seat of my pants originally. Which, as it should be abundantly clear, I absolutely did do.

The other part of this is that if you've followed me on Tumblr, you'll see that I'm very much Not In the Fandom anymore and have just kind of sat reblogging pretty pictures for the past few years. And I'm very chill with that! I have no plans to get ~ back into the fandom ~ as it exists now, and am not really up on the fic scene as it exists on Ao3 & Tumblr & Wattpad. I'm mostly just down for writing/creating the occasional thing because it brings me joy, and sharing with whoever wants to engage with it.

All that being said, and I promise I'll shut up soon, here are the aforementioned "update-ish things" -

1. I do plan to do edits on WTWC, and post them here in chapter-batches (possibly on Ao3 as well, but idk at this point.)

2. I am also planning, currently, though this could change, on taking down the original fic (this one right here). In that case, I would be more than happy to send you a copy if you want one.

3. I made a Tumblr sideblog (shoshimakesstuff) for graphics/mixes/moodboards/etc. related to WTWC and a veritable kaleidoscope of AUs, as well as related to my other BoB OCs and the fic A One Woman Army by my lovely friend IceColdInAlex, which you should 500% check out (it's under the favorites tab on my profile).

4. I'm also brainstorming for a shorter Lieb/OC thing but that's a bit of a ways off. Just thought I'd mention it lol.

I would really love to get peoples' thoughts on this and gauge interest, especially for #s 1 and 2. Obviously if no one is into the idea then maybe I would reconsider! Please do drop me a line either in a review or PM - I would love to hear from you 3
