Theoden sent Eomer and me ahead to see what the scouts had to report. We rode fast.
"I got a bad feeling." I said as we rode.
"I do too." Eomer said. I had a feeling we were running out of time. We rode until we saw a scout heading our way. I pulled my reins as we neared and came to a stop as the scout joined us. "What is the reports?" The scout shook his head.
"It's not good my Lord and Lady. Minas Tirith is surrounded. The lower levels in flames and legions of the enemy advance." The scout said.
"Eomer. We're running out of time. We need to get back." I said.
"Thank you." Eomer said. The scout leaves. Eomer takes my hand. "You still up for this?"
"Of course. I'm a Durin. We don't back down from any fight." I said. Eomer smiled.
"Let's go tell the King. We need to get moving." Eomer said. We turned our horses and rode fast to where the others were resting. Theoden turned when we arrived. "The scouts report Minas Tirith is surrounded. The lower level's in flames. Everywhere, legions of the enemy advance."
"Time is against us. Make ready." Theoden said. Eomer got off his horse as I make sure my weapons were ready. He came over to me.
"Try and stay close to me." Eomer said.
"Don't worry about me. I'll be fine. Your King will need you to lead." I said. Eomer nodded.
"Stay safe." Eomer said. I knew I couldn't promise him that with having to face the Witch King.
"I will." I said. Eomer got on his horse as I rode over to Eowyn and Merry.
"Ready." I said.
"Ready." Both said as they put on their helmets.
"Prepare to move out." Eomer called. Eowyn put Merry on her horse and got on behind him.
"Make haste. We ride through the night." Theoden called. We rode out and towards Gondor. We rode fast through the night.
"We have to be getting close." Eowyn said. Merry was asleep as we rode fast and hard through the night.
"Getting there." I said. I looked in the horizon. "Its near dawn." We started to slow down as we came to the hill to Minas Tirith. Horns blew signaling our arrival. I gasp at the sight. "Mahal." Legions of orcs surround the white city. I was near Eowyn. Both of us were holding spears we got as the night went. Theoden rides to the front. I close my eyes. This battle was going to be a hard one to win. "Give us strength, Grandfather, and protect the men." I open my eyes.
"Courage, Merry. Courage for our friends." Eowyn said, holding Merry close. Orcs were turning to face us. Theoden turns and rides to his captains.
"Eomer, take your eored down the left flank." Theoden said. Eomer turned to get ready.
"Flank ready." Eomer called.
"Gamling, follow the King's banner down the center. Grimbold, take your company right after you pass the wall. Forth and fear no darkness." Grimbold rides to do what he was told. Theoden comes to the front of us. "Arise. Arise, Riders of Theoden!" Eowyn turned her head so her uncle woudn't reconize her. "Spears shall be shaken, shields shall be splintered, a sword day, a red day, and the sun rises!" We brought down our spears so we were ready for battle.
"Whatever happens, stay with me or Lilian. We'll look after you." Eowyn said. Merry tries not to look nervous. I bit my bottom lip. Theoden rides in front of the horses, banging his sword against the spears.
"Ride now! Ride now! Ride! Ride for ruin, and the world's ending!" Theoden said. He stopped and moved in front of the Riders. "Death!"
"Death!" Riders called. I felt my nerves disappear and the thrill of battle raging through my blood.
"Death!" Theoden yelled.
"Death." The riders call.
"Death!" Theoden said.
"Death." Eowy, Merry, and I joined the yelling.
"Forth Eorlingas!" Theoden shouted. Horns sound. I kicked the sides of my horse as we started moving towards the orcs. We cheer as we rode fast towards the orcs. Arrows were shot from the orcs. Men were falling. They kept coming. I joined the yelling as we came on them. I threw my spear and it hit an orc. I pulled out my dwarven sword as we collided with the orcs and started slaughtering them. The battle for Gondor had began.
