Hi all, yes I'm back and time to update my story. Vacations are fun and it's nice to have alone time with the family but I'm really looking forward to getting back to work and school. Here's hoping things get back to some sort of normalcy sometime soon. Here's the next chapter, please R&R and to Turtlecrazy714 and guest, thank you for the reviews.

Ch 18 An Unexpected Ally.

Back at the compound, Splinter, Leatherhead, Slash, Bishop and several of the council members had gathered in the control room to watch the battle on the large transparent screen.

"Mr. President," April stood, "The power cell has been removed; the force field around the earth is no longer functioning," She looked back to the screen, "Oh no," She cried out, "LOOK!"

All eyes turned to the screen and watched in shock as a large cone-shape ship hovered above Earth's atmosphere

"It's the Triceraton Warship!" A large humanoid pigeon yelled.

"Private Pete," Leatherhead looked at the large bird, "Bring up Earth's satellite."

Private Pigeon Pete pressed a few buttons and a second later, the computer screen now showed the view of the Earth in Space. All occupants in the room gasped upon seeing dozens of Kraang scout ships suddenly appear surrounding the Earth and a large metal sphere slowly moving toward them.

"What in the world is that?" Dr. O'Neil asked as his eyes widen in fright.

"That Doctor," Bishop turned to him, "Is the Kraang Technodrome."

"Admiral," A humanoid red fox turned to Leatherhead, "Sir, we have multiple radio transmissions coming in from the other three compounds," She advised, "The Kraang scout ships are approaching their areas fast."

"Lieutenant Alopex," Leatherhead nodded toward her as his eyes continued to watch the battle play out, "Advise them to ready their troops for battle," he looked toward Bishop, "Mr. Vice President, is there any way that you know of to destroy that cloaking device?"

"All I can tell you is that we thought we had destroyed it when we blasted the Technodrome out of Earth's orbit when all the signals from the scout ships started up again back in the first war," Bishop rubbed his chin in contemplation, "But it has been hundreds of years since then so if we had disabled it, they obviously got it working again."

"With the cloaking device, the Kraang are more dangerous than ever before," Splinter stated as he walked toward Bishop, "There must be a way to stop the Technodrome."

"I'm sure there is Sir," Bishop nodded toward the screen, "And it's up to our fly boys to figure it out," He turned back to Splinter, "Otherwise Earth is doomed."

Leo's eyes fluttered opened just in time to see the earth coming toward him, he shook his head and grabbed onto the control stick, straining his muscles, he pulled back hard in an attempt to get the plane to level out.

"Come on, come on!" Leo pleaded as the craft continued to plummet toward the earth.

Several feet from the ground, Leo leveled out the fighter but the craft was still out of control and heading toward a pile of rubble a few feet from the shuttlecraft. Leo managed to eject just before the craft hit and he rolled safely away. He slowly got himself to his feet and surveyed his surroundings.

"The shuttle," Leo muttered, squinting through the Kraang fog. He looked up and saw the Triceraton destroyer coming toward him with his weapons aimed and ready to fire. He looked at the clothes he was currently wearing, "I still look like a Futtokuran ninja," He looked up in horror, "I need to take cover!" he realized and sprinted toward the shuttle.

He jumped inside as the Triceraton's weapons began firing in the spot he had just been standing in. Leo let out a deep sigh of relief and quickly made his way toward the panel where he had seen Donnie place the weapons in the last time he had been on the shuttle. 'Donnie had Mikey go get their weapons,' Leo reminded himself, 'Hopefully they didn't bring just their own.'

Leo opened the panel and smiled upon seeing two blue sword hilts sitting inside. He pulled them out then noticed two red hilts with curved prongs sticking out on either side, "Sweet, these may come in handy" Leo stared in awe of the other two weapons, "I wonder what these are?" He pulled them out and stuck them into his belt along with one sword hilt. 'I'll figure it out later, right now there's a planet to defend.' He ran out of the shuttle in time to see the Triceraton destroyer landing a few feet from where his ship went down. He took the hilt still in his hand and pressed the button producing the laser sword. Taking a deep breath, he held the sword in front of him and cautiously walked out of the shuttle.

While Leo was gathering the weapons, Raphael maneuvered his ship several feet away from where Leo's ship had crashed landed. Due to the Kraang fog, he had not seen Leo eject out and, fearing the worse, quickly made his way over to where the ship was. A huge sigh of relief escaped his lips when he did not see Leo still inside. As the Triceraton ship landed behind him, his eyes searched the ruins and finally noticed Leo walking out of the shuttle just as a large Triceraton warrior jumped out of his own craft and held a Triceraton blaster ready to fire.

Meanwhile, Donnie and Mikey had run after the Kraang who were holding the power cell and quickly engaged in battle. As they attempted to retrieve the power cell, several other Kraang that were determined not to let them get it back jumped in. While they battled back and forth, Mikey had seen Leo's ship falling from the sky. He turned and smacked the Kraang with the power cell on the head pushing it back away from him. With a loud 'Booyakasha', he jumped up and kicked the Kraang to the ground then took his laser and blasted the Kraang droid, watching with a look of satisfaction as it's exosuit twitched and jolted from the blast.

"Donnie," Mikey cried out, turning to see his brother taking down another Kraang droid, "I've got the power cell back!"

"Great!" Donnie yelled as he jumped over one Kraang, grabbed it from behind then, with one arm around the exosuit and his other hand on the Kraang blaster, started shooting the other Kraang coming at them, "Get to the control box," He ordered, "I'll be right there!" He pushed the Kraang away from him and blasted it with his own laser gun.

"But we gotta help Leo!" Mikey yelled as they started running back to the broken stone slab, "I saw his ship get blasted by one of the Triceraton's fighters!"

"You go and help him, I'll take care of the power cell," Donnie said as he took the power cell from him.

"Be careful D," Mikey said and continued to where he had seen Leo's craft go down. Mikey came up on the scene of Leo's downed craft and saw Raph jumping out of it.

"Raph!" Mikey ran over to him, "Is Leo still in there?" He asked breathlessly.

"No," Raph responded, then pointed, "There he is," They started toward him, "What is he doing?!" Raph demanded in disbelief.

The two turtles watched as Leo walked away from the shuttle with one of the blue plasma swords in his hand held high over his head and walking toward the Triceraton. He then brought the sword down horizontally so the tip of the sword rested cautiously in his left hand. A few feet from the shuttle, Leo stopped walking and slowly got to his knees as the Triceraton came closer to him.

"Leo!" Raph yelled out to him, "What are you doing!?"

"Stay back!" Leo ordered them with a slight turn of his head; he looked back at the warrior walking closer to him, his weapon out and pointing in his direction, Leo took a shaking breath and bowed low, "The enemy of my enemy is my friend!" He called out as he saw the large Triceraton slow his walking.

"What's he doing Raph?" Mikey asked as he gripped his brother's arm in fear.

"The enemy of my enemy is my friend," Leo repeated, he looked up and watched with a pounding heart as the very large creature stopped walking just in front of him. Keeping his sword laying between his hands, he held his sword out to the warrior but kept his head bowed low, "The enemy of my enemy is…."

Raph winced as Mikey's hand tightened around his arm. He placed a hand over Mikey's hand and squeezed back as they watched the Triceraton reach out toward Leo.

"I understand your words little one," The Triceraton said in a very deep voice while he put his very large paw on Leo's shoulder while holstering his weapon. He took Leo's sword and assisted him in standing up, "And I am on your side."

Raph released a deep breath he had been holding when he saw the large Triceraton help Leo stand, he turned to Mikey as he felt the younger turtle release his arm but was surprised to see Mikey suddenly starting to fall backward in a dead faint.

"Mikey?" Raph bent down and slapped his face, "Are you okay?"

"That was too intense," Mikey said as he sat up and rubbed his head, "I was certain Leo was a goner!" Raph helped him stand and the two made their way over to Leo and their new ally. "Leo, that was awesome bro!" Mikey exclaimed.

"Yeah," Raph nodded in approval, "What made you do that?"

Leo shrugged, "I saw it on a movie or TV show," He told them, "Figured it couldn't hurt," seeing the two brothers exchange bewildered looks, Leo shook his head, "Don't tel me you've never heard of..." He stopped and looked at them in disbelief, "Why do I ask?" He rolled his eyes and turned back to the large Triceraton, "Thank you for not killing me...Um."

"My name is Zeno," He told them in a very deep voice, "I am leader of the Triceraton rebellion. My warriors and I had just overthrown the evil Commander Mozar when we intercepted the signal coming from the Futtokuran Space ship," He looked at Leo apologetically, "When I saw your craft heading to where the beacon signal was coming from, I thought you were a Futtokuran helping the Kraang but I am happy to see I was wrong," He gave a light chuckle, "I am also happy to see you are unharmed."

"Yeah, well we all make mistakes," Leo said while rubbing his arm, "But now we need to stop the signal and get the force field back up," He pointed upward, "If they know where the signal is coming from, they'll be able to destroy the master control switch and we'll never stop them from continuously invading our planet!"

"So come on then," Raph implored as they started back toward the master control box where Donnie was currently attempting to put the power cell back into its place, "What are we waiting for?"

They reached the fourth turtle and watched as Donnie looked up at them in dismay, "It's not looking good guys," He told them, "I'm afraid the Kraang did some damage to the control box when they got the power cell out," He frowned as he tried in vain to get the master box working, "And now it's going to take some time to get the force field back up."

"Then let the Kraang come," Zeno said as his eyes searched the sky, watching through the Kraang fog as the laser show continued high above them. The four turtles looked up at him in surprise, "There is only one way to break the control Kraang Prime has over the rest of the Utroms," He started back toward his ship, "And that is to destroy Kraang Prime itself."

"And how do you expect to be able to do that?" Raph demanded.

Zeno smiled back at him, "By using our Warship," He pointed toward the ship, "It's weapon is the only thing that can insure complete devastation of such an evil being as Kraang Prime." The turtles looked at each other in bewilderment as Zeno quickly ran back into his destroyer then headed toward the mothership.

Raph looked back at the others, "You two stay here and help Donnie," He ordered then looked to the sky where a huge laser display between the Kraang, Triceratons and Earth Defense fighters were in an all- out war, "I'm getting back in the air to help the others."

Leo and Mikey watched Raph run toward his fighter; they had just turned around to assist Donatello when a loud blast sounded out behind them. A loud scream had them turning around and watching in horror as Raph was suddenly thrown several feet in the air as a laser blast from a Kraang scout ship hit inches away from him.

"Mikey," Leo yelled as he started to run toward Raph, "You go help Donnie, I'll get Raph."

"But Leo," Mikey pointed upward, "There's got to be hundreds of Kraang coming our way, you'll get blasted!"

"Just get to the tunnel and help Don!" Leo yelled. Dodging Kraang blast, Leo reached Raph and threw him over his shoulder in a fireman's carry.

"Leo," Raph gasped in a weak voice, "Leave me."

"Cant' hear you pal," Leo told him as he ran from the Kraang blasts. He reached the tunnel and jumped in. Mikey helped Leo gently lay Raph on the ground then roll him over to see a large burn covering most of his right arm, "Donnie, you got anything to help him?"

"It's a laser burn," Donnie told him, he dug into a bag on his belt and pulled out a small box with bandages and a small vial of cream, "Here," He handed the box to Mikey, "Put some of this cream on Raph's burn then bandaged his arm.

"If you got him from here," Leo stood up, "I'll go help in the fight."

"Captain" Raph set his jaw and looked up at him with a pained expression, "I told you to leave me," He said wincing as Mikey placed the cream on his wound, "You really need to learn to obey those with a higher rank than you."

Leo smirked at him then handed him the two sword hilts, "I've disobeyed people with ranks much higher than yours Colonel," He told him, "And in my military, we don't leave behind our brothers-in-arms, no matter who they are." He began to stand but stopped when Raph held him in his place.

"Quite the fearless warrior, huh Leo," He looked down at Leo's belt and handed him back the sword hilts, "I'd rather have my sais if you don't mind," He told him pointing to the two red metal sticks in Leo's holster.

"Sais, huh," Leo looked from Donnie to Mikey then back to Raph. He smiled and handed him the red hilts, "Kinda figures these would belong to you," He told him.

Raph smirked at him and pressed a button in the middle of one of the hilts. Leo startled then leaned back as a red laser blade suddenly shot straight up and out of the middle of the hilt several inches from his face.

"Wise guy," Leo muttered with a slight chuckle.

"Takes one to know one Captain," Raph muttered, wincing as Mikey continued to work on his arm.

Leo smiled at him then with a nod to the others, jumped out of the tunnel and ran toward Raph's fighter.

"Admit it Raph," Mikey smirked knowingly at his brother as he wound the bandages, "You do like him, don't you?"

"Sure, like I like a hole in my head," Raph huffed then glared at his youngest brother, "The guy saved my life so yeah, maybe just a little," Mikey and Donnie looked at each other knowingly, "But say anything to anyone and I'll slap the green off the both of you!" He growled at them then winced when Mikey tightened the bandages.

Leo quickly climbed into Raph's fighter and took off into the sky to rejoin the battle. As the fighter rose above the Kraang fog, he could see the Kraang Technodrome was descending toward Earth and the Triceraton mothership was flying an intercepting course. As he joined with the others in bringing down the Kraang scout ships, he flipped a switch to activate the radio, "Captain Casey!" Leo cried out as one Earth ship after another flew past him, "Everyone listen to me, the Triceratons are not our enemy, they are going to use the warship's weapon to destroy the Technodrome," He watched the ships continue to fly around him, "We need to keep the Kraang Scout Ships from going after the warship!"

"We copy that Leo," Casey's voice sarcastically came over his radio, "So we just gotta keep doing what we're doing."

"Leonardo-san," Usagi called out to him, "If the Triceratons are going to use their warship to take down the Kraang, then won't that cause a very large explosion, and if it does, how far away should our fighters be when that happens?"

Leo looked toward the Triceraton Warship to see it closing in on the Technodrome; his eyes widen as he noticed most of the Earth Defense fighters were too close to the action and, he realized, if the Triceratons were going to use the warship's weapons to destroy the Technodrome then it would be a blast that would cover several miles of airspace.

"We need to get out of here!" Leo yelled, "Captain Casey, have your warriors retreat!"

On board the Technodrome, a large brain like creature watched gleefully as the ship slowly began to descend toward the Earth, "Kraang prime will finally take back Earth and destroy all mutants!" The large brain declared triumphantly.

"Uh, excuse me Kraang Prime," The large brain turned to see a smaller brain on a small flying hovercraft making its way toward him, "I hate to break the news but you should really see this." Using one of his tentacles, he pressed a button on the console directly in front of Kraang Prime.

Upon seeing the Triceraton Warship moving toward them, Kraang Prime frowned angrily and smacked the smaller brain sending him flying across the ship, "Kraang Subprime should know not to give this kind of bad news to Kraang Prime!" It yelled and began pressing buttons, "Kraang, ready the shields and fire on that which is known as the enemy!"

Back at the compound, April clung hard to her father while Splinter and everyone within the room watched with bated breath as the Triceraton Warship raised high over the Earth and began to hover above the Technodrome which was making its way slowly toward Earth's airspace while pointing various guns toward the Warship. But it was apparent to those watching that the Kraang were too late as the bottom of the Warship slowly began to separate. A loud whirling noise could be heard as the cone lit up and a bright beam shot out from the bottom pointing directly at the Kraang Technodrome. The earth seemed to tremble as an explosion sounded throughout the night and a bright light seemed to fill the sky breaking through the Kraang fog.

All eyes watching turned away as the bright light filled the room for several long seconds. When the light finally abated, all occupants turned toward the screen to see the Technodrome was no longer in sight and only the Triceraton Warship could now be seen hovering above Earth's airspace.

"Admiral," Splinter turned toward Leatherhead, "Our pilots, our warriors?" He looked at the large gator with fear-filled eyes, "What has happened to them?" He looked back at the screen to see none of the fighters within view, "Where did they go!?"

Leatherhead eagerly leaned over Pigeon Pete and pressed a button, "Colonel Raphael," He called out, "Come in, do you read me?" He pressed another button, "Does anyone read me!?" He looked over at Splinter with a fearful gaze as the only response to come over the radio was nothing but static.
