Chapter: 15 Second thoughts
We helped Susan get out of the building, and we had to pull Doc out of the building because he wanted to still stay in. The sun was starting to set over the purple clouds. We had a few more hours till we had to leave. I started to have second thoughts:
My parents my freak out at the sight of me
B.O.B. may eat my pets
Doc. may bow something up
Susan may give my parents a heat attack
Link may want to go into the pool and get everything wet
….
I shook the thoughts out of my head. Calm down! I told myself. They wont do that…I thought of B.O.B. eating my dog…No, I don't think he would be that thick to eat my dog…
Will he?
We all decided to eat ice cream. We went into a shop that was in Main Street and sat down at the tables. Susan sat outside. I told Doc. to go ask what kind of flavor of ice cream Susan liked. He nodded and went outside. When he came back, he told me she liked chocolate ice cream.
I nodded and ran behind the counter. I paid the shocked man as I pulled out the huge tub of chocolate ice cream I flapped my wings and then finally got the tub out. I handed to tub to Doc. who nearly dropped it.
"You've got it?" I asked him.
"Y-yes! I've got it!" He said as he struggled with the heavy tub of ice cream.
"Ohhh…I get it now, you are helping Doc to get Susan to like him…how sly," Link said to me smiling slyly.
He now knows.
I turned to look at him and crossed my arms, "Yes, I have been helping Doc, he is kind of like me, we both can't ask people out, but he has one thing I don't have…a date, so that's why I'm helping him so please don't tease him," I begged.
Link snickered.
"It wont be easy," he told me.
I put my arms down and went to the counter to buy ice cream for myself.
I sat down at the table B.O.B. and Link were sitting at.
B.O.B. eyed my ice cream. He watched every lick I made and watched the ice cream melt and drip.
I sighed and handed it to him.
"Yay! Ice cream!" He cheered as he grabbed my ice cream and ate it.
I watched as the ice cream dissolved in his stomach and was gone.
"You didn't have to give him your ice cream," Link said, as-a-matter-of-factly.
"I didn't want him to watch me eat it, and I wasn't going to finish it all anyway," I told him.
Then Doc walked in all damp with chocolate.
His lab coat had light brown splotches and his antennae were dripping with chocolate, but he was smiling.
I handed him some napkins.
He took them from me and wiped off most of the chocolate spots.
Link smirked and laughed a bit.
"What happened to you? Did you-" Link started, but I slid my hand across my throat to tell him to not say anything. He got the message; disappointed he sunk lower in his chair and fiddled with a straw.
We walked out of Main Street and headed to the jet, which was just outside the exit.
"Did you monsters have fun?" asked Monger to us. We all said yes as we got into the hold. My shoulders hurt a lot. I rubbed them and stretched my wings. "Next Stop! Bat's home!" yelled Monger. Everyone cheered.
Except for me.
"Monger? We can skip my house and go home?" I answered quickly.
The monsters looked at me.
"Why not? I would love to see your house," Susan said.
Everyone else nodded.
"How about we do a vote?" asked Doc.
We all agreed for a vote.
"Ok," Doc said. "Raise your hand if you want to go back to base?"
I raised my hand.
Piss off. No one else raised their hand
"Everyone raise their hand if you want to go to Bat's house?" Doc continued. They all raised their hand.
"Feh…all right fine…you guys can see my house," I muttered, with my ears back in annoyance. I walked over to a window and sat down and watched us take off.
The land became more and more familiar. Finally we were down my neighborhood.
"We could walk from here," I told Monger.
Monger told the pilot to land the jet.
When we landed we all got out.
The jet then flew away.
Great.
We were ten houses away from my house. My stomach churned and I started to feel sick. I was glad to finally meet my family again, but then, they haven't seen me in two months.
They aren't going to like my new friends I thought to myself as I looked at The Trio and then looked up at Susan.
I don't know how I got that name into my head but, Doc, Link, and B.O.B. seemed to be like…the three musketeers…mostly the three stooges I laughed in my head.
"So, what is your family like Bat?" asked Susan as she looked down at me. I thought for a minute.
"Well…I guess you could say they are…normal," I told Susan.
She laughed.
Five houses.
"Do you have any siblings?" asked Link.
"Just one. A younger sister," I answered him nervously.
"Do you have any pets?" asked B.O.B. happily.
That was the one question I didn't want to hear from B.O.B.
"Er…yes…yes I do…promise me one thing?… that you wont eat them B.O.B.?" I asked him nervously.
B.O.B. gave me a funny smile. "I wont," he promised.
Then Doc whispered something to me. "I'll keep an eye on him for you if he does," he told me.
I smiled nervously.
Two houses.
I started to breath heavily. I felt sick. I wish I didn't mention my house. I decided to try one more excuse.
"Hey Susan? Where do you live? Maybe we could go to your house instead?" I looked up to her hopefully.
She looked down at me. "I live in Modesto, that's really far away from here, and we are almost to your house anyway…which one is your house?" she asked me.
I sighed.
I have lost.
It is time to show the monsters where I live.
I looked down. Then I slowly raised my arm and pointed to my house.
