Hello all! So since I'm back in college this week, and freshly moved into my dorm at my new university, I figured I'd give you a short college themed snip it. Just a though that was bouncing around my head. Thank You to those of you who have reviewed recently, I promise a new chapter will be coming soon!

The classic collegiate atmosphere of the UNSC's newly remodled curbulo Academy left a strangely hollow feeling in Catheirne's stomach. She had wanted to go to an academy once, but never haiving had a support system in her life with any amount of financial stability had squashed any way of that becoming a reality. The campus was pristine, and the students were clearly divided into two groups. Those enlisting as soldiers, and those whose strength lied in their booksmarts. Catherine mused that she'd have been both had she been given the chance.

"The last time I was here this place was on lockdown." Catherine looked up at her commanding officer, who had taken to wearing a pair of black overalls when he wasn't allowed to wear his armor in public.

"Why's that?" she asked, raising a brow at him. The Master Chief shrugged, taking a sip of the coffee in his hand. Catherine had noticed that as the years passed, and he mellowed out with time, he had become more accustomed to normal dependencies such as caffeine.

"They were being shot at." he deadpanned. "Covenant attack, early into the war." John was careful about talking about the war nowadays. She remembered when he used to talk about it plainly and unapologetically, before smaller ears had been in their home to hear.

"That makes me feel soooo comfortable with all of this." she said, drawing out the words. John simply shrugged.

"It's the reality of things. You're welcome to tell her she can't stay if you're that worried." There was the tiniest smile on his lips, and Catherine gave him a withering look, before turning to look at the backpack clad form with a head of dark hair, and bright blue eyes that were wide and starry with wonder as they gazed around the pavilion at the center of campus. "She's going to be fine." John looked down at her with a grin on his lips and said as an afterthought- "And so will you."
