Two weeks since we met Brian May, he inspired us to keep playing even more and with the upcoming party at our job, we practicing every evening, I rented a box somewhere out the city, so we don't intervere the neighborhood. We both are practicing for family day at work, because Serenity showed a movie from the bar when they filmed the two of us.
At one evening we are practicing again, his phone rings.
Yugi puts it on speaker.
Phone call:
"Hey Yugi, a woman calls him."
"Hey aunt Keiko, how are you doing?"
"Great dear, but we have a question, your parents didn't sign you in for the family bbq this year, and last year you weren't there, aren't you coming?"
"Last year I needed to work, and Dad, and I had an argument a year and a half ago, I think they are stil mad at me, because since that day I didn't see them anymore."
"Oh okay, so I sign you in?"
"Hold on aunt." He looks at me. "Do you want to meet my family?" He whispers. and I nod.
"Yes I will come aunt, uhm with somebody, and can we stay over the night?"
"You finally have a date?"
"Hihi, yes I do, and probably the main reason dad and I had the argument."
"Oh honey, they need to let you lose someday, it's good that you finally found the courage, and of course you two can stay the night over, I'll make shure grandpa's room is ready for the both of you, and will you take along you guitar as well?"
He looks at me and I nod again.
"Yeah we take them along, when is it?"
"I tekst you the date and time."
Phone call ends:
She gives us the date, oei thats gonna be a tough one, Friday familyday at the job and Saturday meeting his family, my wrist is going to hurt like shit.
"Sweetie? Why staying over? Is it that far from home?"
"No but I bet you would some drink and so am I."
Yes you may say it dear readers, I do have some kind of a bad influens on Yugi, but this one is not my mistake, the place we are staying over is, his cousins introduced him with alcohol as soon he lived on his own, he told me himself.
Yugi is also nervous about the fact his parents are coming to the family bbq, so I try and distract him as much as possible.
Last night he was crying again, he misses his mom, but he also understand that they were wrong, and they need to apologise, still it stays tough to him.
Finally Friday, family day at work, Duke hired a foodtruck so we don't have the cleaning mess from this day.
Yugi and I going two hours early so we can do vocal warming, and sound checks. If we are ready with the preparation, I ask Yugi if he is ready to play for a audience he knows.
"No but we both decided this thanks to Serenity, so let's do it." he says and kisses me.
Slowly the co-workers all gather around, Yugi and I sneak away until they call us up.
Our old baby's are standing over there, our new baby's now get the honour to play.
"Two friends decided that live music was a fun way to have this party, so with grate pleasure I introduce you, the dynamic duo." Atem and Yugi! Duke shouts.
We start our play with Axwell in grosso, more than you know.
Yugi found a way to connect his amplifier with the playlist from today, so if the co-workers want they can sing along, and we have drum and keyboard on the background as well.
The co-workers sing along, and dancing around.
At some point, Yugi puts his guitar off and starts to dance with Serenity, while singing.
We have a few song the co-workers requested, and now it's Yugi's turn to play his absolute favourite.
I putt my guitar down, the co-workers look up strange, because I don't make a motion to participate.
Bijou, he starts, and I feel the vibes running through my veins, I can't help it, every time he plays it, I feel his soul.
The co-workers are silent, they look in awe. Some I see shiver, and Yugi? He has his eyes closed and puts like always his soul in it, and he took a good use of the tips Brian provided him, his play is grown big time.
And then that line, those few words, I feel them with my whole heart, and can't help it and let a tear go.
When he is done he gets a standing ovation, cat screams, and whistles.
"Okay you guys, we take a short break, before we continue." Yugi says.
Yugi and I talk a bit over how we do the next song, and if we figured it out we go to the front again.
Yugi hangs his guitar on his back, he tells everybody to stand, and then he shows, klap klap stomp, "Follow this beat guys."he says and I start to sing, Yugi keeps the audience going with the beat, and at his Q he runs from the back, forward swings his guitar in a fluent move to the front, he slides on his knees and starts the guitar solo from we will rock you.
I don't play anymore, my wrist is already bugging me, so I just sing.
Al in al we had a great evening, we had a lot of fun, and even Yugi played more songs then I, but I don't care, we had fun, that's what cares.
"Hey Atem, that autograph Yugi has, who is it?"
"Not only Yugi has it Joey, but I as well have the autograph from Brian May, only mine you see in blacklight or when it's dark."
"You guys met Brian May?"
I take my phone and let the pictures see, from Yugi playing the solo, and next Brian joining him, Yugi Seeing him but continues playing, and Brian singing his guitar
Next the pictures from me playing with Brian, me shaking his hand, him singing my guitar.
And last but not least, yugi and me standing next to Brian and play another song with the three of us.
"That's amazing Atem."
"Yeah it was."
Duke comes to us, "Atem, I thing he is done, look over there."
Yugi is curled up in a corner, and sleeping.
Joey helps me placing the amplifiers and the guitars in the car, next we walk in, Duke hands me an envelope, and thank me for the music.
Tristan is already trying to wake Yugi up.
"Don't bother Tristan, he is knok out completely." I say while picking him up.
Serenity walks with us to the car and helps me get Yugi in it.
All the coworkers wave at us, we going to miss them, but we discussed it both and it's for the best, the both of us need a fresh and new start.
At home I bring our guitars up first, the amplifiers stay in the car, Yugi promised his aunt to play there also.
At 11 AM we wake up, Yugi sounds a bit raw, so he is not going to sing tonight, I hope, but if I know my little fiance, he's gonna be stubborn like hell.
Before we get up we… uhm… play a bit, truth is, we both decided still use condoms, we truly want to wait until marriage for we get to the real business.
Then we open the envelope, and see two 100 euro bills and a card signed by all the workers.
Next we take a quick shower, and get in the car on the way to his family, Yugi is getting nervous by the second, he is gonna see his parents after not seeing oe hearing them in more then a year.
The moment he gets out the car at his aunt's, he has a girl swinging him in a hug.
"Hey Nicky, how are you doing?" he says and hugs her back.
"Great Yugi, were is your introduce? And you drive? Is that a piercing in your ear?" She rambles.
Yugi grabs my hand, "Nicky, this is Atem, Atem, this is Nicky, one of my favourite two cossins, and yes I can drive a car, and yes this is a real piersing." he says with proud.
"And what is that on your hand Yugi?"
"What do you think it is?"
"I don't know! What is Atem in your world?"
"I snake my arm around his waist." and he kisses me.
"Yugi? Friendship rings?"
"Maybe maybe more." Yugi teases.
"He- He proposed?"
"Yeah, about 2 weeks ago."
"OMG, FINALLY!! I am so happy for you!" Nicky squeals, "I knew it al along, and finally your out the closet."
"Nicky? Are they there yet?" Yugi asks.
"No not yet, mom wanted you to come sooner so you could set up."
"Thanks, can you help us? Atem can't do much with his wrist right now."
"Shure." And Yugi hands her his new baby, he takes my baby, and I the amplifiers.
We use the same rule, only we play our guitars, and at night we take them up to our room, so if one of the kids wakes up soon, our baby's are safe.
"MOM, YUGI IS HERE!" Nicky shouts.
His auntie runs to him, "Oh let me see your date honey!"
He introduce me, and she squeals as well.
Next we go set up and do the vocals, Yugi is stil a bit raw, if he sings this afternoon he definitely has no voice tomorrow.
He talks with his aunt about what happend last year and a half between him and his dad, and about how the two of us met, and we also discussed our plans for the future, she wishes us the best of luck.
If the family drops in we start to play, the both of us have a lot of fun, Yugi drinks some mixture drinks, and I keep it at beer.
When it starts to rain, we stop and place our baby's on the bedroom that one's belonged to his grandfather, down stairs, Anna, the Sister of Nicky calls him.
"Yugi, your parents are here, they ask if you are here as well."
I look in his amethyst blue sparkled eyes, they show fear, but also determination, he knows he needs to face them once, better now, were they can't create sensation, then at home.
I swing my arm over his shoulder, "You can do it sweetie." I say.
He snakes his arm around my waist and together we walk to were his parents are.
The first thing they notice is the piercing in our ear, the second, the way we hold each other, and the third the ring on our finger.
The vane pulses in his dads nek, and before we even notice it, he is yelling at Yugi, not carring about the fact there are about a 100 people there enjoying him making a fool of himself.
I press Yugi closer at me and take a protective form, he hides his face in my chest, and from out of no where his aunt stands between us and his father, in a livid voice she says, "Nicky, take those two up, let them calm down."
Every family member yels at his parents, they sticking up for my sweetie. And then his dad yels, "IF HE TRULY IS A GAY PEST NEXT TO HIS FREAKING ILLNESS, HE IS NO LONGER MY SON!!!"
Yugi can't move a muscle, that was a real hard hit in the face, I pick him up bridal style and storm in behind Nicky. She takes us up, and opens the bathroom, she let the tub fill, lays towels ready and says, "He always relaxes afther a nice bath, come down if you are ready."
I strip first my clothes of, and next I help Yugi, in the tub I clean him with a washcloth, I massage his tense muscles, and try to let him speak, but he is in deep thoughts.
He can't relax, and at some point he says, "I want out."
After we are dry and dressed again, he says, "Atem." And he sounds very defeated.
"What is on you heart sweetie?"
"My family can't be the ones who are to blame, I-I-I think we need to quit."
"What? You let them win? After al they did to you! Please tell me this is a sick joke!"
"I don't know, I was so happy with you, and now, I don't know what I want! I don't think I even want to live no more! I-I need time to think. You sleep in the bed, I go sleep downstairs, I'm truly sorry."
"He puls off the ring and gives it to me, he turns and walks away, his shoulders low, his head low, he is defeated, and I am the one to blame."
I..I. don't want to lose my sweetie, I fall on the bed and start to cry.
I dont know how long it takes, but I hear a woman scream.
"THE WHOLE FAMILY IS STICKING UP FOR YOU, ATEM IS BECOME YOUR WORLD, AND YOU LET THEM FUCKING WIN? GODDAMN YOU ARE NOTHING BETTER IF YOU LET THEM WIN YUGI!!"
Nicky comes up, she knocks on the door and with a broken voice I call her in.
"Hey Atem, are you okay?"
"No my sweetie dumped me, after all I did, giving him confidence, the fact he wanted his ear pierst, his new guitar, the evening we met Brian May, al a waist, Ra I pulled him out of the closet, he is the love of my life and he does this to me." I cry.
"Somehow I hoped his parents didn't come, I don't know if you heard, but I was pretty mad at him, and before you ask, yes I did slap him on the cheek."
"Yeah I heard, he also told me you can have quite the temper."
"True, and he also knows I show my temper to the person who deserves it, Anna is talking with him now, don't give up hope yet, but if he comes back, be stern at him, make him clear that he cannot do this again."
The phone of Nicky starts to ring, she picks up.
Phone call:
... .. …. …?
Yes he is.
… .. ..?
Very upset.
…. … …?
Grandpa's room.
.. …. .. …

Phone call ends:
"They are coming up, remember, be stern. Let him know he can't do this." Nicky remembers me.
Yugi comes in the room, on hands an knees he crawls towards me, he puts his head between my leg and arms, his eyes red from crying, and a red cheek, I see Nicky indeed has quite a temper, but I'm not mad at her for slapping him, maybe I would have done the same I don't know.
"I'm so sorry Atem, I had a moment of weakness, I-I-I don't wat to lose you, please give me one more chance?"
He is trying not to show his famous puppy eyes, thank Ra, but I keep silent, I refuse to give him comfort by petting his head.
"Atem please forgive me, I can't lose you, you made my world special, you made me feel me, and not what they wanted me to be."
I keep quiet.
"Please talk to me."
I wait, he waits, trying his best not to look away, I take a deep sigh.
"Yugi, I love you, no matter what, you know I was willing to lie to your parents, and for you I did, you broke my heart when you wanted them win, but I also know, it was an act of weakness, we both had alcoholic drinks, I want to forgive you, but if you do this EVER again, drunk or sober, I don't care, then it is final! And now you need to work very hard to gain my trust again, do I make myself clear!" I say very stern and with a strong voice.
"Yes you do, but how do I gain your trust?"
"Show you parents who Yugi wants to be, not who they want who Yugi is, I say and start petting his head."
He takes my hand and puls the ring of, "Atem, you have become my world, you showed me the meaning of friendship, love and so much more, will you do me the honour to marry me?"
My eyes are a long time hard, and he looks in mine, love, fear, hope, my eyes getting softer, and I say, "I don't want to give you the ring back yet show me who you are sweetie, but first kiss me."
He comes closer, and kisses me, he lickes my bottom lip and I grand him entrance.
We battle a war for dominance and I win, by the need for air we break loose.
"What do you say we join the party?" He asks me.
"Are you shure?"
"Yes, and if they are stil there, please let nobody interfere." Determination is to be seen in his eyes, and I know he is going to break with his father forever.
We go down, and shortly after his parents come to him, "Stay strong sweetie." I say and step back.
"Boy, we are getting you out that apartment, you quit your job, and we sent you to a community that can cure you." his dad says.
"Now your not, my job already is stopped, and I am moved out! And no they don't have permission to give you my new address! You are not sending me to a community who tells me they can cure me, because I am cured, I started getting better the day Atem step in my house the first time."
"We are your parents! We created you! We teached you everything!"
"True, and for that I am grateful, but you never teached me to love, you never teached me to accept myself for who I truly am, to be who I want to be, three important things in life, and Atem teached me! He even teached me that I AM not a freak, even if I am a Neko cat! And now it's time for you to learn something from me, a lesson I learned the hard way today, you can love your kids, but you need to let go, and you need to learn to accept with who your kid decides to share his life with no matter what gender, you need to be happy that I am happy, even if I'm GAY because that's what I am, a gay neko cat man!"
A smach hitting him in the face, his aunt wants to step in, "NO I NEED TO DO THIS ALONE!" Yugi shouts towards her. "It's clear, I don't have loving parents." He says softly but loud enough to hear for the others.
And he gets another slap.
His dad says. "It was that your mother is against abortion, you were an unwanted brat from the start, I wish I had a full boy or a full girl who wants to have a healthy relationship, not half animal! As far as I know you are no longer my son, I have no kids, YOU ARE DEAD TO ME!!!"
"That's your choice, in my mind I never had a dad, and there are enough people who accept rainbow love, and who accept me for who I am and want to be."
"You think rainbow love is easy? You are going to get a real tough life kid, and when you experienced it, don't come cry! Come on Akiko!"
They turn, and leave, his mom turns one last time she mounts sorry to Yugi and then continues her trek.
Everybody saw it happen, everybody stayed quiet.
Yugi isn't holding back his tears, he wobbles on his legs and I catch him. "That was so tough Daddy." He whispers between his sobs.
"I know sweetie, but you know, they don't know that rainbow love is just as normal as heterosexual love, they are going to have a tougher life than you, because they abandoned not only their only child, but look around, they lost the trust of many more people today."
He looks up, his whole family smiles at him, heart warming smiles, loving smiles, "They are very proud at you sweetie, and so am I, you have gain my trust back my dear loving sweetie." I say and kiss him on his cheek, I also take his hand and slide the ring back on his finger.
Anna and Nicky come closer, Nicky has four shots, and Anna two coldpacks.
I take the coldpacks and place them softly against Yugi's cheeks.
Nicky gives us both a shot, one at Anna, and she says, "Let this shot be a seal, if one of us needs an eye opener, we help each other every time. No mather where we are"
Yugi and I look at each other and he says, "Thanks guys, I truly needed that."
We klink the shots and trow them in our trouth, next I pull Yugi in a makeout session.
Like I said, next day Yugi has no voice, and he has a heavy hangover.
That evening when we comming home, I take the blanket from the bed, Yugi folding out the couch, I place candy's and ships on the table, and next the both of us take a hot shower, where we hug and kiss each other, after the shower we crawl against each other on the couch and I start Netflix, we cuddle up and watch our favourite serie teen wolf, we watch until we fall asleep.
Tomorrow we have our tattoo, and Tuesday I'm getting surgery.
