"Toshi, I need you to be quick. It's either that or I'll leave you here" Hizashi urged to his son.

He had just received a call from the hospital and he needed to go there as soon as possible. Shouta would have never forgiven him otherwise.

"I'm coming. Zashi, will you please tell me what's happened? Why did they call you? It's about Shouta? Is he awake?" Hitoshi asked while putting on his shoes.

"I'll explain you while driving. Let's go now".

"Yamada-san. I'm glad you've managed to come so soon. As I was anticipating you by phone, the little kid needs to have someone to sign a custody form for her. If we can find no one to sign, she'll be going into an orphanage. And for a child with such a power we don't think that an orphanage will be a nice place. She'll be isolated and excluded" the nurse was leading them toward Eri's room.

"My husband and" Hizashi brusquely stopped. It was not his husband and him anymore. It was only him at the moment. He should be aware of that.

"I am more then willingly to sign. I can have temporary custody of the kid until a family can foster or adopt her" he knew that Shouta was in those conditions only because he wanted to save this child. And he wanted her to be safe and loved, he couldn't allow her to be living in an orphanage. She was six, too powerful to handle by a normal family, and she surely had issues and psychological problems due to what had happened to her. She was never going to be adopted. And he was never going to let a child to be put through hell if he could do something to prevent that from happening.

He looked at his son who was strolling behind him and affectionately smiled. What if he had ignored his needs too? What if he had let another family to foster him? What would become of him? What if he was mistreated and abused by the hypothetical different family? His kid had given him so much that he couldn't imagine a life without him. And to think that he didn't even want to adopt him at first! He'd have regretted it forever. But luckily there he was, pacing behind him with a worried expression on his face. But he was safe, and relatively happy. He guessed he should do the same thing for Eri. He loved Hitoshi so much that he could actually picture himself with another kid. Or at least, he could picture his husband and him with another kid. The two of them together, surely not him alone.

"Well, for the moment nothing is going to change. Eri-chan is still going to stay here, at the hospital. She's badly injured and we cannot risk her to go out. If your husband should wake though… that'd change everything" the nurse stated slowly opening the door. Of course, it would. Aizawa was the only person that could control Eri's powerful quirk. And with the child being afraid of herself that would have come in handy.

"Eri-chan! How are you today, sweetie? You have visitors. I'll introduce them to you. He's Hizashi, you know what? He's a hero! Great, right? And he's Hitoshi, his son. he's studying to become a hero. How amazing, Eri-chan! You're surrounded by fantastic people" she chanted. "Do you want and try to say hello to them?" she encouraged.

Eri opened her eyes wide in a terrified expression. She clutched the blanket that was covering her and brought it closer to her body in an attempt to hide her trembling frame. She lowered her gaze, shut her eyes tight and nervously shook her head no.

"It's okay sweetie. There's no need to be afraid. They're friends, they're good, they're not going to hurt you, I can promise you this. And you do trust me, don't you?" the nurse tried to convince her.

She slightly opened one of her eyes, inspected the two male figures, opened the other eyes and stuttered: "H-hello. My name is Eri".

"Hi Eri-chan. I'm Hizashi, but you can call me just Zashi. And this is my son Hitoshi, and you can shorten it to Toshi. It's a pleasure to meet you. How are you?" the blond man asked softly.

"I'm fine, I think. The nurse says I'm healing" she timidly answered while relaxing her grasp over the blanket.

"I'm glad you're healing. This is such a great news. Eri-chan, you know, my husband is sick at the moment, but I'm sure that once he gets better, he'll be able to help you a bit. The nurse told me that you were a little bit afraid of what you've done. He's got the power to help you train your quirk, so you can use it to do good things. How about that?"

The girls nodded but her attention was captured by Shinso. She intensively looked at him, like she was studying him: "Are you Mirio's or Deku's friend?".

Hitoshi gently smiled at her: "I am. Well, I know Mirio a little bit, but Deku is one of my best friends. We're in the same class".

"REALLY?" she happily exclaimed uncapable of holding her joy back. "I like Deku. He's my friend too. He's nice and he treats me well. He's kind to me, he comes here with Mirio everyday and they bring me snacks, candys, sweets and sometimes some toys. Look! They gave me this heroes-themed colouring book. And-" she suddenly stopped and look at Hizashi in awe like she had just had the greatest of the revelations.

"It's you! You're in my book! Look!" she chanted happily losing all of her shyness and slightly jumped on the bed. She quickly skimmed the pages until she reached a white figure of Present Mic.

"Nice! It's really me! Maybe you can colour me and then show me your artwork next time I'm coming here to visit you. Will you do that for me?" he smiled.

"Mh?" Eri looked confused. "Are you going to come and visit me again? Why?" she went back being suspicious. She was afraid that he was there to experiment on her, and she didn't want to.

"You don't want me to? Maybe I can bring you some other stuff, I can give you books to read, some easy Mangas and maybe I have some movies at home. I bet that this television can run DVDs" he calmly explained.

"Is he coming too? If he's Deku likes him then I like him too" she pointed at Shinso.

"I'm coming if you want. Maybe next time I can come here when Deku's comes, so we can do something altogether. Would you like that, Eri-chan?" Hitoshi was great with kids. He knew what it meant to be neglected and mistreated and he knew how to act to avoid doing the same. He wanted every kid in the world to be happy and loved.

"Mh" she said nodding convinced.

"Listen, honey. You know… you're here in the hospital now, but one day you'll have to go out, when you'll be better, I mean. And you don't have a nice place to go, right? We're going to find you a nice and lovely family, I'm sure that there must be a lot of people that would like to adopt a beautiful child like you are, but in the meanwhile, would you like for me to host you in my house? I know that you don't know me, but I promise to be kind and gentle to you, and I can come here every day so we can get to know each other better. You can play with my son and our cat, you can sleep in a very comfy bed, and I'll let you see all the movies that you want. What do you say?"

"I'd love that. I don't know what a movie is though…" she said ashamed.

"You'll find out very soon" Mic concluded. His next mission was to introduce Eri to her childhood.

"Yamada sensei" Mic heard someone screaming in panic. "It's not me, I'm not the traitor. I swear. I'd never… Toshi. You don't believe what they're saying, right?" the blond boy run out of breath toward them. He had a huge brown bruise under his right eye. He stopped in front of them and looked at the resting figure of his homeroom teacher.

"What? Denki? What are you talking about?" Hitoshi inquired with doubt in his eyes.

"The rumours. What they're saying, I swear it's not true" he almost screamed quivering.

Toshi had a perplexed expression stamped on his face. Hizashi was only sad and wanted to reassure the blond boy.

"Don't worry Denki" he said slightly touching the bruise under his eye. "I've never believed it for a second. I trust you. I know it's not true. I believe you. It's okay. How did you get this bruise? Was it from the battle?" he asked finally.

"Thank god! I was so afraid. I didn't want you to believe that I'd done that. And no, my father was really angry about those bad rumours. He's received a call from principal Nezu. He has asked my dad to keep an eye on me. But now it's okay. My mom managed to calm him down. We're good. It's not me we should be worrying about. Sensei, I'm really sorry for your husband, and Toshi, I'm really sorry for your dad" Kaminari stated with a sad expression.

"Would someone care to explain to me what is going on? What rumours?" Hitoshi was more confused than ever.

"You haven't heard?"

"Heard what?"

"They say that I'm cooperating with the villains. That I've been telling them our positions so far, that my original plan was to get your dad killed and making it pass as an accident and other terrible things. But I swear that none of it is true. I don't know who believes those and who doesn't. I mean, Nezu has doubts, and Midnight Sensei came to me to tell me that she was watching me. Also, I'm pretty sure that Deku, Bakugou, Kiri, and Mina are on my side, but I've learnt that Iida, Yaoyorozu, Mineta, Aoyama and Tsuyu believe those rumours. Without even hearing my version. But I don't really care. I need to know that you don't believe them, I need you to tell me" Kaminari begged.

"They're not wrong, though. I mean, there might be a spy who works with them. But Denki, I don't believe it's you. Of course, I don't'. I mean, my dad got hurt, and I know you knew how much I cared about him, and you care about me so… Don't worry, I'm by your side" he said going to hug the blond boy. He rested his head over Denki's shoulder and closed his eyes relaxed by Kaminari's hand moving slowly in between his hair.

"I just wish this was over" Shinso whined.

"Me too" Denki answered.

"Believe me boys, it will be over soon. He's going to wake up, you'll see. You're going to get your dad back, and you are going to be cleaned from all of the unfair accusations" Hizashi concluded, taking his son under one of his arms and placing one hand on Denki's shoulder.
