A/N: AJ's 4th birthday occurs before NCIS investigates Harm for Singer's murder
NCIS
It's little AJ's fourth birthday party, and everyone has been invited to the Roberts' house to celebrate. Knowing that Bud still wasn't quite as "on his feet" as he had been before he lost his leg in Afghanistan, AJ's godparents had graciously offered to show up early and help set everything up before Harriet and Bud's house was invaded by a dozen preschoolers.
Mac and Harm had begun seeing each other after the Robert's Christmas party, but they hadn't shared their relationship with their co-workers just yet. They had spent the morning running in Rock Creek Park, as they did on any Saturday that they were in town and the weather was cooperative. Upon realizing after their run that they both managed to forget to pack the gifts in their cars, they had mutually agreed to shower at their own apartments and then meet at the Roberts' house for the party.
Mac had looked rather cute when she rolled the window down and pouted, "I was looking forward to sharing a shower with you this morning."
Harm leaned over and gave her a kiss, "I'm sure we will need another one after hanging out with a bunch of four-year-old kids. We can conserve water this evening."
Mac pulls him back for one more quick kiss, "I'll see you there."
Mac arrives first, with her gift in tow. She rings the doorbell and can hear AJ yelling "Aunt Mac is here!"
She smiles as she hears a harried Harriet replying, "You can let her in."
AJ opens the door and his eyes go wide at the sight in his godmothers' arms. He asks, "Is that for me?"
Mac places the gift just inside the door and scoops her godson up in her arms, "Well of course it is. Today is your birthday, isn't it?"
AJ nods, but Mac notices that she doesn't have his full attention anymore because he is looking over her shoulder. Before she has a chance to ask what he is doing, he inquires, "Where's Uncle Harm?"
Mac tickles his tummy, answering "He will be here shortly."
She places AJ back down on the ground as Harriet comes walking in from the kitchen. Harriet chuckles looking at the shirt that Mac is sporting. She raises her brow in question as on the front of the shirt it proclaims, "I Support NCIS."
Mac smiles, "Is there something funny about my shirt?"
Harriet shakes her head, knowing how much Harm hates working with NCIS, the CIA, the DSD, or any other agency. She states, "Oh, Ma'am, the Commander is not going to be happy when he sees that shirt."
Mac coyly replies, "Oh I think he will be just fine with it." Mac turns around revealing the message on the back. The message on the back declares "I support Naval Commanders in Speedos."
Harriet turns beet red, and brings her hand to her mouth with a whispered, "Oh My!"
Mac grins, "Yeah, I think I will have more of a problem with the Admiral seeing it than Harm, but I just couldn't resist."
Harriet questions, "So does this mean the two of you are involved, or are you just trying to get a rise out of the Commander?"
Mac merely smiles with a twinkle in her eyes before replying, "Me?"
Harriet rolls her eyes, knowing she isn't going to get anywhere with this conversation. She links her arm with Mac's leading her to the kitchen, "Since you obviously aren't going to answer me, let's get set up for the party."
AJ's party was a great success. Much to Harriet's dismay, she didn't see any signs of her two best friends being involved in each other. They flirted and bantered like they usually do, but other than a raised eyebrow, Harm didn't even comment on the shirt that Mac was wearing. She was severely disappointed.
Later that night, two very tired officers collapse on Harm's couch. Mac states, "I wish I had bottled up all the energy that those kids had today. I'm exhausted. As much as we run, I didn't think I would be this worn out chasing after all them today."
Harm turns to her, "I know how you feel, I'm beat too. So, does that mean you want to skip the shower and just head to bed?"
Mac smiles, "Not on your life, Sailor."
Harm turns to her, and brushes a wayward hair back behind her ear before giving her a soft kiss, "How about you go ahead and get the water ready, and I'll be in there in a minute."
Mac nods, "Okay, but don't take too long or I might use up all of your hot water on my aching muscles."
Harm smiles, "I'll just be a minute."
Mac heads to his bathroom and strips down, turning the water on almost as hot as it will go, before stepping inside. Harm hears a low moan, taking that as his cue. He steps into the shower behind her, and wraps his arms around her waist. Mac turns around and laughs at the sight in front of her. She wraps her arms around his neck, and says, "I guess you did like my shirt."
Harm wraps his arms around her waist, bringing her naked body in closer contact to his, "Yes, I did, but I couldn't let Harriet know that. It would have given away our secret, and forgive me for saying this, but I kind of like having you all to myself."
Mac slides her hands down his chiseled chest and perfect abs before reaching the waistband of his Speedos. She starts tugging them down his legs, "Sorry Sailor, I may support the Speedos, but I prefer you in your birthday suit."
Harm kicks the discarded garment over to the corner, before pressing his naked body flush against hers. He lifts her up so that she can wrap her legs around his waist bringing the intimate parts of their bodies into the perfect position to begin the age old lovers' dance.
