"How the heck was that supposed to be scary," Pearl said with an annoyed tone. "I mean, you just wasted 20 minutes of my life!"

Marie raised an eyebrow. "You sure do look like you are the only one that felt it boring."

Pearl looked around. Eight was hugging her knees, hiding her face, Three trying to comfort her. Four stared mesmerized at Marie, like she had just done an unexplainable magic trick. Marina looked at Pearl and rolled her eyes, lil Judd hanging in her hair. Murch was for once not looking at his phone, and even Judd was awake, even if he only had one eye open. Pearl waved her arms around. "Doesn't matter," she said and stood up. "Besides, it was made up on the spot."

Marie looked offended. "Made up on the spot?" she said. "Excuse me?"

"Yeah," Pearl continued. "The Assassin was obviously based on you, Marina was the Scientist, Callie was the Warrior and I was the Gunslinger!"

Then she pointed at Three, Four and Eight. "And the girls were obviously based on them! Look, if ya wanna tell us a horror story, tell us a proper one! Hey Sean, you got any more drinks?"

"Yep, they're in the van," he answered. "I ain't gett'n those for kraken, get em yourself if ya want em."

Pearl rolled her eyes and walked out into the corridor. "Gramps read us this story when we were little," Marie called to her. "There's nothing made up about it!"

"Yeah, yeah," Pearl answered as she put her shoes on. "That might explain a bit. Five year old me wouldn't have flinched if I had heard this story."

She opened the door and turned to walk out. But she froze. Out in the corridor, stood a tall Octoling. Yet, she wasn't an Octoling. She had the hair of the Octoling, as well as the Inkling. Her hair was red and her eyes black with red dots in them. She held a sword that was covered in red ink. "What the—" Pearl screamed and jumped back, stumbling over shoes and fell on her back. When she landed, she tried to crawl as far away from the door as possible, trying to reach where her dualies were. Delta stepped inside. "Sorry I'm late!" she said and smiled. "I had to go pick up gramps!"

"What the-" Pearl said and stopped crawling away. "Hey Callie," Marie said, smirking. "I was just telling them the story!"

Marina was trying as hard as she could to not laugh, but it wasn't going very well. Eight, Three and Four all laughed under their breath, and the shopkeepers chuckled. "Ooooooh!" Callie said. "My costume is based on Delta, I really like how it turned out! What do you guys think?"

"I think Pearl's reaction told us everything we needed to know," Marie said and smiled. "Depending on how scared she got!"

Pearl stood up with a sour face. "I wasn't scared," she said in an offended tone. "I was just startled."

"Well, of course you did Pearl," Marie said. Pearl stuck out her tongue and looked away red faced. Captain Cuttlefish walked in, dressed as a pirate. "So, how all ya kids doing?" he said in a loud voice. "All food done for the captain?"

"Nope, there's more in the kitchen, I'll get it!" Marina said and stood up, lil Judd still hanging in her hair. "Hey Marie, can you tell us another story when we're done eating?" Four said in an excited tone. Marie winked at her. "Of course I can! Well, if Pearl won't get too startled at the end of the story, then I'll do it."

"Ha, ha, very funny," Pearl said and sat back down. "Can we actually eat, I'm starving!"

Marie laughed. "Of course we can Pearl, of course we can."
