A few weeks after the attack of Homeworld, Cory was in her tent meditating. Rose came in and gave her some special hot tea.
"I don't know what this is, but I hope this helps you." said Rose.
Cory smiled and sipped her tea. "I spoke to Quetzan and Zigi from the great beyond. They are both very happy." said Cory.
Rose nodded. She wasn't much of a believer of life after death, but she knew the Galaxy was huge and perhaps there is a place souls go to. But Rose didnt' ask many questions nor did she think much about it. She simply at down next to her friend and Cory looked at Rose.
"What are you going to do when everyone else finds out about you?" asked Cory. Rose knew what Cory meant, but she promised herself never to speak of that again. She made herself promise and she forced Pearl into it. The fact that Pink Diamond shattered herself was a secret Rose would rather keep to herself. But in this case, Cory was a human who knew too much. Only she and Pearl knew. No one else. But Rose didn't want to take the chance to revisit that day. She simply shook her head.
"I understand." said Cory.
"Homeworld will return. But... you have to leave Cory. They will do something terrible. I just know it." said Rose.
"My future vision is clouded, but Garnet might be able to see it." said Cory.
"You can't see anything?" asked Rose.
"I do see visions. But they have nothing to do with... Oh. Perhaps." said Cory.
"What?" asked Rose.
"In my visions, I see a human boy. His heart is so pure... yet there is a hint of darkness in it. And I see you in those visions too... but... somehow... you will make this boy both happy and sad. I also see Garnet and Pearl in the visions, and an Amethyst guard... but then.. .the visions go away." said Cory.
"A boy..." said Rose.
"I don't know who this boy is. He is not Quetzan nor Zigi. This boy... he is not like us." said Cory.
"What do you mean?" asked Rose, asking more questions. She was rather curious about Cory's weird visions.
"Sometimes, I see the boy sing and dance, and then in some visions, he's either crying or in pain. There are two different boys I see in my visions Rose. This was the first. The second boy I see... falls in love... and he... oh my... your with him." said Cory.
"Stop! Don't tell me. I'd rather wait for that day to come... when will they happen? The visions?" asked Rose.
"Thousands of years in the future Rose. I won't be here when they happen, but there is one thing I can tell you. The first boy from my visions will bring happiness and joy... but his road will be a bumpy one. And you will guide him." said Cory.
"Who is the boy?"asked Rose.
"I do not know. His name is never mentioned in the visions. There are those who mouth his name, but I cannot hear it." said Cory.
"And the second boy?" asked Rose.
"I don't know his name either. But I will tell you this... Music will the driving force that will bring you and he together... and that was something Quetzan showed me." said Cory.
"Quetzan showed you this vision?" asked Rose.
"Yes. He tells me that you will be very happy with this one young man." said Cory.
The following morning, Cory was escorted by a young maiden to take her to another village. Before she left, she gave Rose a gift. A small kiss on the cheek. And with that, Cory left the village. Rose waved at her from afar as she disappeared into the horizon.
"I"m sorry Rose. She was a good human." said Pearl.
"She was." said Rose.
Pearl looked up at Rose and stood in front of her. "Do you want to practice our fusion?" she asked.
"What?" asked Rose.
"You see... we were going to fuse when we found Garnet. We were so close too, but I was wondering if we can try again?" asked Pearl.
Rose smiled and grabbed Rose by the hands. "Dance with me." said Rose.
Both Rose and Pearl began to dance elegantly. Pearl made graceful twirls and backflips like a ballerina while Rose danced with her dress making elegant twists. In that moment, Rose and Pearl got together and they finally fused. Their fusion was a tall beautiful gem with lovely light purple hair and she wore a dress that was similar to Pearl's only more sporty and more free to move. This fusion was Rainbow Quartz.
Eversince that day after Cory left and Rose and Pearl fused into Rainbow Quartz, the next few years went by with countless battles happening here and there. In this time, Garnet was now a powerful fusion made of two different gems who were in love, and they had created a new physical form. Garnet was now accociated wit hthe colors red, black and dark purple. Pearl too was a lot more ferocious in her battles, using her spear to strike homeworld soldiers that threatened the planet. Bismuth kept making much more powerful weapons for the rebels as they all teamed up to battle the invasions.
Overtime, Jasper along with her cohorts attacked the Earth time and time again, trying to destroy the rebellion, but Rose never quit. She fought day by day, securing the peace of Earth, and making sure the Diamonds didn't dare create their colony.
As such is war, there have been countless losses as well. Some gems from the rebellion were shattered and corrupted into terrifying monsters. The same could be said for the homeworld gems. The losses were so great that many Crystal Gems began to question if their battles were worth it in the end.
One day however... everything changed. And Rose's troubles began to escalate the moment Bismuth invited her to her workshop in the volcano. And what transpired there will affect the tides of war.
