Chapter 21: Chapter 21

Zacchara Manson

Anthony was with Alexis, Trevor and his children Johnny and Claudia in the dining room. Claudia was watching her father, trying to speculate what it was that he had to tell them. She knew that whatever it was started and ended with Alexis Davis. Finally, she could stand it no longer, "Daddy, why is the DA sitting at our dinner table?"

"I will get to that in a moment, we still have guests that are unaccounted for."

"Jason and Sam Morgan. Why is that woman so important to you, that you would get into bed with our enemies?" she asked. Claudia was watching her father, she saw the shared look between him and Alexis, so she knew what had her father so captivated by Sam Morgan.

"Claudia, please be patient. All will be revealed." He was sure his daughter was ready to lose her cool at any moment. He hoped that Jason and Sam would arrive soon, he knew that they were coming. His limo driver had called the minute he picked them up.

Soon they all heard footsteps moving towards the dining room. Jason hand in hand with Sam, stepped into the room. She looked nervous, but as they moved closer, she seemed to get it under control. Anthony motioned to the table and chairs, "Please take a seat. Dinner will be served shortly. But before we get to that, I think we have a lot to discuss, don't you?"

They took their seats, "Yes, if what my mother told me earlier today is true, then we do have a lot of talking ahead of us." Sam told him. She looked around the table, Johnny appeared to be curious, but it was Claudia that gave her pause, she was glaring at her. If looks could kill, she'd drop dead right now.

"Dad, I think it's time you told us what is going on." Johnny said quietly. There was something about Sam Morgan that was familiar. From the moment he'd met her he had felt a kinship with the petite, dark-haired beauty. He couldn't quite put his finger on why, but he felt like he should know her.

Anthony stood up from his seat, moved behind Alexis and rested both hands on her shoulders. "As you all know this is Alexis Davis, but at one time I knew her as Natasha Cassadine. I met her several months before I married your mother. She is also Samantha Morgan's mother."

"Ok so, what does that matter? Come on its not like Sam is our long-lost sister or something, right?" Johnny said. Claudia suddenly had a bad feeling about this. By the shocked look on DA Davis's face, she had the feeling that her little brother had just hit the nail on the head.

"No, Daddy! Tell me that isn't what all this is about! Please! She just can't be, NO! She isn't my sister, that is unacceptable. I am not related to that bitch!" Claudia pleaded with him, pointing at Sam; horror filled her face.

"I'm sorry, but I can't tell you that. Samantha is my daughter and she will be a member of this family if she chooses to be. You don't have to like it, Samantha is your older sister, my first born; it was done long before you were even born. Accept it, Claudia, for it's the truth. I had a relationship before I was married to your mother, that resulted in another child, my first born. She is and always was your sister. And you tried to destroy her life, if anyone should be upset, it is her. We came here, not to take over Port Charles, but to find the rest of our family." Anthony glared at his middle child; her petulance was coming to an end. She would get in line or get out of his way; he had waited a long time to meet his Samantha and Claudia was not going to stop him.

Claudia was not going to sit here and pretend all was well. Sam Morgan would never be her sister; she'd see to that. She got up so abruptly that her chair crashed to the floor, "I won't listen to this, that woman is NOT my sister. I don't care what you say." And with that she stormed out of the room.

"Wow, she was really upset. Is she going to be a problem? Because Jason and I have a lot going on right now and I don't want to deal with her too. It's not like I had a hand in picking out my parents." Sam told them. She was worried that Claudia would come up with a half-baked plan to finish what Alcazar had started.

"She will do as she's told." Anthony told her with a shake of his head, as he resumed his seat. She had better do as she's told or he would send her back to the Zacchara Stronghold in Italy, to stay with her great uncle, to be watched. And if she went a darker path, he would show her how he dealt with traitors. If she chose that path, he would be forced to do something that would pain him, but to protect one child from the other, it would be necessary. He just hoped that it didn't come to that.

"Claudia might not want another sister, but I would like to get to know you. I believe this could be the start of a beautiful relationship if we let it, what do you say, sis?" Johnny watched Sam take in his words, weighing them, then she nodded. "So, now that is out of the way, tell me about yourself."

Normally Sam was ok with attention but having every single eye on her was a little daunting. "Well, I'm married, I have a new 3-month-old baby girl named Emmaline and a year-old step-son named Jacob. My adoptive parents were real pieces of work, Cody my dad was a conman, my mom an evil bitch and I used to have the sweetest older brother, but he died. His name was Danny. I ran cons before coming here and meeting Jason. There really isn't much more to tell. What you see is mostly what you get." she shared a smile with Johnny. At least one of her new siblings was welcoming.

The rest of dinner was much better than the first ten minutes. Johnny and she got along like a house on fire and her newfound father asked her many questions about her life and in turn she asked about theirs. They really seemed to want to get to know her. Sam enjoyed the rest of the evening, the only black spot being Claudia. And she could tell by how quiet Jason was, not that he talked much anyway, during the rest of the night, that he still had reservations about the Zacchara Clan.

When it was time to go, Anthony escorted them to the door. "I hope that given time; you will come to consider us members of your family. I know that Claudia can be a handful but don't let her attitude get in the way of getting to know the rest of us." he told her. "I do have one favor to ask of you before you go."

"What?" Sam asked, giving him a questioning look.

"Can I get a hug? I know I might be asking for too much too soon, but I have waited for this day for years and I just need to hold you for a moment." Anthony was afraid she would turn him down, his introduction into her life wasn't exactly smooth. Her sister did try to steal her baby and mess wither her friends lives. He waited breath held for her decision.

Sam shared a quick glance with Jason, the slight dip of his head let her know that this was entirely her decision. So, she stepped forward and into the waiting arms of her birth father. She let him hold her for a moment and then pulled away. The smile that graced his face was like looking in a mirror. "Thank you." he told her.

She then turned to Johnny and gave him a hug too. "I hope to see you again. Maybe meet my niece and step-nephew, I've never had those before. I'm not sure I'd be any good at being an uncle, but I'd like to give it a try."

"I'd like that." Sam turned to Jason, "We better get going, who knows what Carly is doing to the kids now that she has them in her clutches." With that Sam and her mother headed out the door towards the waiting limo that would return them home.

Jason watched them go, waiting until both women were out of earshot, then he turned to the two men still standing by the door. He pinned them with a hard stare, "If you do anything to try and hurt Sam or the children, I will make you pay."

"Jason, the last thing I want is to cause harm to your family. I just want to get to know my daughter and maybe play a small part in her life. My son and I won't hurt her, but I do feel that I should warn you about Claudia, she is holding a grudge against Sam for how the Alcazar situation played out. And for that I am sorry. I'm not sure what she might do if anything. So, watch your back around her." Anthony warned him.

"Then I suggest you keep an eye on her, because if she does try to harm Sam, I have no problem helping her join Alcazar in hell." With that final warning ringing loud and clear, Jason left to join his wife and her mother.

"Well that went well. Nothing like getting threatened by your new in-laws to make the perfect ending to a family dinner, eh Dad?" Johnny said with a lifted eyebrow. His father sighed, shaking his head at him and Johnny couldn't help but ask, "Do you think he was serious?" He father just looked at him as if asking 'how stupid are you'.

"Deadly serious, son, we best keep an eye on your sister, Claudia. Jason Morgan does not issue idle threats. If he implied that he would kill her, he meant it. I would like to avoid that mess, if possible." Anthony replied, as he watched the enforcer enter the limo. Jason Morgan was a force all on his own and if he hoped to keep the peace between them all, he would need to prevent his middle child from causing havoc. If she hurt Samantha or the children, nothing would keep Morgan from killing her and he couldn't have that type of upheaval in his family. He would have to find a way to monitor Claudia without either of his children knowing, so he could be ready to take action himself.
