Hey hey fanfic fanatics welcome back to my story I hope you're all doing well in the world So i've been thinking and I realize it may be a little late to introduce the oracion seis so i'm doing some fillers interesting ones with my own oc characters. so let's get on with the story.

Chapter 18: Kitchen Nightmare

Darkness fell upon the woods hiding things from sight with only the moon as the source of light in the night a creature is running for it's life from something it looked like a beaver with horns like a ram, it could feel the manic footsteps closing in on it before trying to climb up a tree for safety. However the creature couldn't get far as it felt a hand grab it's tail it looked to see a silhouette figure with one red glowing eye staring madly at it while being dangled..

"Thought you could get away did ya" the figure spoke.

The creature clawed at the figure's stomach forcing him to drop it letting the creature get away and the figure to chase after it.

The beaver creature ran underneath a log hopping that would be safe; it began to hear the figures footsteps getting closer and closer till his feet were visible. The beaver creature didn't make any sound as it layed there waiting for the figure to walk away. After a couple of seconds he walked off.

The horned beaver walked out a bit looking around to check if it was safe when suddenly it grabbed from behind. The creature squirmed for it's life trying to break free from the figures grasp until the figure knocked it unconscious and carried it away.

"Mmm I love it when food runs away. The harder you work to get it the more appetizing it will be, plus running around builds up an appetite" The figure said disappearing in the night.

Cait shelter

It was a peaceful and calm afternoon at the Cait shelter guild with its members doing their own usual thing, master roubal was in his tent doing his usual thing meditating and enjoying his afternoon whiskey. He usually drank in private because the members especially the women of the guild always get on his case about him drinking; it had to do with the little incident a few years ago but that's a story for another time. In another area in Zodies room he was with his two friends Wendy and Carla; they were laying in a circle board out of their minds.

"Uhhh so bored" Zodie bellowed while twirling his dagger.

"I don't wanna go on a mission i don't feel like it" Wendy spoke

Zodie then dropped his dagger accidentally nearing with the sharp end almost hitting Carla

"Hey be careful with that dagger Zodie" Carla told the boy worridley.

"Oops my bad" he said apologetically.

"Hey I know what we can do" Zodie said he got up and ran to his closet and then came back with a bag and opened it up revealing seven red peppers.

"Peppers"? The cat and the girl asked

"Not just any peppers pain peppers so hot that once you eat one you'll feel like dying" Zodie told them.

"Where'd you get these from" Wendy asked

"Oh Keanu bought some from the market and he let me have a few, though he did warn me about eating them" he answered.

"So here's what we do. We eat one and see who can go the longest without water".

"Uhh Zodie i'm not sure about this. I mean like you said if it's really hot you may not be able to handle the taste" Wendy told her friend.

"Come on if I can handle a punch to the face what can a spices do to me"

Zodie then took one and began to lower the pepper into his mouth

"I have a bad feeling about this," Carla said.

As soon as Zodie bit into the pepper he felt the juices hit his tongue and it sent a fiery sensation to his mouth making the boy drop the pepper and spew out flames and led out a scream of pain from it all.

"Awwwwwwwww it burns it burns" he cried out.

Zodie ran around the room then started to bang his head on the wall from all the pain in his mouth. He then bolted out his room running through the guild with Wendy and Carla chasing after him. The boy made his way to the canteen looking for anything to cool his mouth off with. He saw a pitcher of lemonade and grabbed it chugging the whole thing down after the pitcher was empty he dropped it and fell onto the ground backwards panting. Wendy and Carla finally caught up and the sky dragon immediately ran to her friend's side inspecting him.

"Zodie are you alright"

"Woo man they really do cause pain no false advertisement there" he replied.

"I told you this wasn't a good idea. I hope you learned from this" Wendy scolded.

"Yeah I'd better watch what I eat from now on" he replied

"Yes yes you should" Carla added

Suddenly Zodie let out a large burp that spewed out fire seconds after Wendy and Zodie started laughing with Carla only slapping her face with her paw. The laughter was interrupted by the growling of stomachs.

"Wow guess that pepper made me hungry" Zodie said

"We're already at the canteen too let's eat" Wendy said

"I suppose a meal is the best way to pass the time" Carla added

The trio took seats at a nearby table as always to nobody's surprise Zodie was eating like there was no tommorow food flying everywhere it was amazing that he hasn't choked once with the way he scarfs down food. It was oddly entertaining as said by other members from the guild in fact if he was older he'd probably eat the guild out of a house and home. After a couple more minutes they finished their meal and were quite satisfied as always.

"Man o man I love eating I don't know what i'd do if i couldn't eat again" Zodie spoke

"Pretty sure you'd die regardless" Wendy told him

Causing the two to start laughing even Carla giggled but didn't show it.

The trio decided to take a walk in the woods to burn off the calories. Zodie couldn't help himself perform some acrobatic skills in the tree's something he did because he enjoyed it and because it was great exercise; if he just flew around a lot he'd lose his touch of being agile.

After walking for a bit the trio found a nice watering spot since it was hot one today they decided to splash around a bit, Zodie began to splash Wendy a bit then vice versa Carla however was opposed to getting wet.

On the other part of the forest a man was walking through the woods with a sack over his shoulder. He was overweight and yet muscular he wore a white tattered chef shirt along with green plaid pants and black boots. His hair was black long and messy, his eyes were green and he wore a restraint mask on his face. His outfit also consisted of pouches holding knives.

As he was walking he stopped and heard splashes and laughter. He peered through the bushes and spotted two children playing about themselves. He was interested at first till he spotted something that caught his eye: a white cat standing on two legs.

With the kids

"Come on Carla aren't you gonna get in on this" Wendy called out.

"No thankyou I like better over here where it's nice and dry"

"It's normal for cats to hate water but since you hatched from an egg your not really a normal cat" Zodie said

"Come on is the whittle kitty afwaid of water huh huh" Zodie then splashed up the water a bit too hard hitting Carla causing worry for both kids.

"Oh honestly Zodie" Carla said annoyed with that she sprouted her wings turned around leaving the two children

Strangers pov

After watching the cat sprout her wings the stranger's interest peaked and he knew she had to be his, under his mask he began to lick his lips in hunger.

"Time to unleash the flavor" he spoke and started to slowly follow after the cat

Back with the kids

"Oh man, maybe I pushed it a bit. I need to go apologize" Zodie spoke.

"No don't worry I'll go besides you just wanted her to have fun is all" Wendy told him then ran off after Carla.

Carla flew deeper into the woods and found a large leaf to dry herself off.

"Honestly first he almost hits me with a knife then splashes me with water" she said angrily.

Suddenly she looked up after hearing a twig snap and leaves rustling. She looked in the direction of some bushes as the thing that was coming was getting closer. She picked up a nearby stick and held it up in defense ready to protect herself. It was revealed to be Wendy who had caught up to her. Carla dropped the stick letting her guard down.

"What are you doing here child"?

"I came to get you it's not safe to be out here deep in the woods alone, also please don't be mad at Zodie he was only playing"

"He play's to much is the problem"

"That's not true, remember when we almost fell down the waterfall he saved us or when my money was stolen he got it back, he may play yes but when things are serious so is he and you can lighten up sometimes too" she stated firmly.

Carla just looked away and huffed with her arms crossed.

Suddenly the tension was interrupted by the rustle of the bushes thinking it was Zodie Wendy started walking closer to the bushes.

"Zodie you caught up and... " however it was not who she was expecting at all it was the man who was watching them before.

Seeing him caused Wendy to step back in shock and backed up to where Carla was with a hint of fear in her stomach.

"Well well well what have we here a little girl and me next meal" the man said eyeing Carla and licking his lips.

The feline ran in front of Wendy with her arms stretched out in a protective manner.

"Who are you"? She asked

"Why I'm Maurice Maurice Caccinore?" he said introducing himslef.

"What do you want?" Wendy asked.

"Here's the thing: I'm a man who has acquired a taste for new specimens, rare creatures I might say and your feline friend is definitely on that list" he explained.

"I won't let you near her" Wendy said shakily as she stood in front of Carla.

"You wanna get in my way, that's a fine time to unleash the flavor" Maurice spoke in a sinister voice.

Back with Zodie

Zodie was currently drying himself off waiting for his friends to return

"Man splashing carla like that wasn't cool of me at all" Zodie told himself as he sat on a nearby log.

Suddenly he heard a loud scream a distance away it was so loud it made him jump up with surprise he knew that scream all to well Wendy was danger,

"Oh no Wendy" Zodie yelled out he sprouted his wings and flew in the direction of the noise.

"I'm coming girls" he said to himself

As he flew he activated his phoenix sight to find his friends.

"EYE of the phoenix"

He inspected the area far ahead; he finally spotted Wendy but not in the condition he was hoping she wasn't moving and she was sprawled out on the ground with a mark on her arms but what was more shocking was that he didn't see Carla. Upon seeing this the phoenix child sped up making haste to get to his friend. Once reaching the spot he ran over to Wendy and sat her up against a tree slightly shaking her awake.

"Wendy Wendy come one wake up"

After a few more shakes the dragon slayer opened her eyes

"Z… Zodie" she said

"Wendy where's Carla:?

"He took her"

"Who's he"?

"He called himself Maurice and said she was on the list of specimens he wants to eat" She said while Zodie helped her up.

"Which way did he go"

"Sorry but I was knocked unconciouss so I couldn't see where he carried her away but not to worry I track him by his scent"

Now that caught Zodie off guard

"His scent what do you mean"?

"I have the ability to track somebody's scent I guess it's a dragon slayer ability did I never tell you"

"No but this is the best time to to put it to use"

"Right"

Wendy started to take a whiff of the air trying to pick up the scent of Carla or Maurice whichever scent was strongest in the air. After seconds she picked up on a strong and foul stench.

"I've picked up on something, follow me" Wendy ran into the direction of the scent with Zodie following after her.

Unknown Location

Carla had woekn up and found herself tied up in rope lying on a wooden counter. She looked around her surroundings and she saw she was in a kitchen. There was a large stove in the middle with a built-in oven. She even noticed a bunch of cages lying around the kitchen. She jumped in shock after seeing a goblin( if you don't watch fairy tail their tiny and pink with black spots) hitting the cage hoping to escape. She even heard more rattles from other cages around her hollering and banging their bodies against the cages yearning for freedom.

Carla's attention was caught by the footsteps coming from down stairs; it was Maurice, the same man who she encountered, who slammed his fist against one of the cages.

"Shut up all of ya" he shouted.

Maurice reached a hand into one of the cages grabbing a goblin and eating whole Carla only looked on with disgust. He made his way over towards Carla with a sinister smile on his face while twirling two knives in his hands.

"You scoundrel release me now" Carla said

"What but you'll be missing out on dinner love besides you'll love what's on the menu cause it's you".

"Why are you so obsessed with eating me for"?

"Like I said earlier I have acquired rare creatures now I've had cat's before but with wings and that can talk now that's a whole new experience of flavor right there".

"You are absolutely despicable," Carla sneered.

"Humans eat animals all the time it's natural though what isn't natural is humans eating humans that's down right cannibalism" Maurice said.

He grabbed the white feline and placed her inside of a cage.

"Now don't go anywhere you are the key ingredient for tonight's special will be cat winged soup" Maurice said as he turned and laughed and began to chop up some carrots.

With The kids

The sun was setting in the sky and the search for Carla continued. It took much longer than expected. They thought Maurice couldn't have gotten too far and that they should've reached wherever he was hiding by now, Wendy worried she'd lose the scent and they couldn't get to Carla in time.

"This is awful, the sun's going down and we haven't found any trace of Carla and I'm starting to lose the scent. We'll never find her at this rate," Wendy said.

"We cant think that way Wendy we'll find her I just know it" Zodie told her

Soon Wendy began to pick up on another scent. It was the smell of eleven herbs and spices with a strong scent of onions and a hint of garlic. She soon saw smoke emitting into the atmosphere where there's smoke there was fire and where there's fire there had to be a kitchen.

"Zodie look over there smoke"

"That's where Carla has to be"

"Then let's not waste any time"

The duo headed into the direction of the smoke, the smells of ingredients grew stronger with every step they took which was very pleasant. It was enough to make anybody hungry; or it would be if the situation wasn't so dire regarding the fact someone's life was on the line. They continued running until they came across a house the main body of the house was of rectangular shape with curved portions that looked like towers with grey peaked rooftops. The exterior looked like it was covered in a kind of tile that was ripped away to expose the wooden skeleton beneath. The roof was partly torn with a large bricked chimney where smoke was rising up out of it.

"This must be where that guy is holding Carla" Wendy spoke

"Let's make this dinner party, dark phoenix talon" Zodie said as he kicked the door down with little to no effort.

The interior was worse than the exterior it was a complete mess it was dimly lit the walls were messy partially covered with unknown substances that have been there for who knows how long. The kids noticed that there were cut and marks on the hardwood floor along with empty bottles of wine and other junk sprawled all over the floor.

"This place is a mess" Zodie said

"The kitchen has to be here somewhere that's where he has to e keeping Carla" Wendy replied

They moved throughout the house looking for a kitchen but had no luck; he had to be keeping Carla somewhere. They kept up their search until Zodie came upon a latch to a door.

"Wendy come look at this" he called out.

Zodie was able to lift up on the door opening it up revealing a stairway

"Come on Carla has to be down here" Wendy said as she started walking down the stairs to the unknown with Zodie following her.

After minutes of walking they noticed a light emitting at the bottom the closer they got the brighter and warmer it got they soon reached the bottom and found themselves in what looked like the kitchen. The children noticed many cages around the kitchen Zodie went over to inspect one of them but then was startled by one of creatures lunging at him inside of its cage. Zodie let out a yell before falling down.

"Wow what the heck" Zodie said

"Like I said before this guy has a taste for exotic animals so it explains why he has them all locke up here"

"Zodie Wendy over here" a familiar voice called out.

"Carla" the kids called out they ran towards her cage

"Your okay hang on we'll get you out" Zodie said as he used his dagger to try and unlock the cage.

"Zodie watch out," Wendy said, pushing her friend aside.

The duo looked at the source of where the knife came from there standing in the doorway was Maurice himself.

"Oh company so nice for you to join me for dinner" he said

"So your Maurice you hurt Wendy and kidnapped Carla and planned on eating her, nobody hurts my friends" Zodie spoke angrily.

"Oh a fight good something to work up the appetite" Maurice said twilring a cleaver knife in his hand. Zodie ran at Maurice at top speed and soon there weapons began clashing while Zodie was holding off Maurice Wendy was doing all she could to try and get Carla out of the cage.

"Just hold on i'll get you out soon"

Wendy's efforts were interrupted by Zodie being thrown against the cage opening it up a bit

"Man this guy is good" Zodie said.

"Let me help you" Wendy offered

"No get Carla out I got this" he told her

Zodie then put his dagger away and cloaked his fist with darkness and spread his wings and flew straight toward Maurice crashing into him pushing him up through the stairwell all the way up to the main floor entrance. He then tossed him across the room.

Zodie then ran towards Maurice fist balled and delivered punches to his face after landing a third punch across his jaw the mask Maurice was wearing snapped off. Before Zodie could deliver a fourth punch Maurice caught his fist grabbed him by his shirt and trolled him down the steps.

Back with Carla and Wendy the sky dragon finally managed to free her friend and pulled her into an embrace.

"Im glad your okay"Wendy said happily

However the reunion was interrupted by the sound of a body being rolled down the stairs. It was Zodie as he finally reached the bottom Wendy ran over to her friend along with Carla.

"Are you okay"? She asked

Though this was interrupted by a large banging noise Maurice came crashing down into the kitchen. He then noticed Carla was free through the smoke he let out yell of rage. He submerged from the smoke and the trio was appalled by what they saw. Maurice's lower jaw was split open revealing sharp metallic teeth which freaked them out.

"So you keep me from my meal and bust into my home you will pay" he said.

"My name is Maurice yes but my other name is the consumer beast because what I eat I become".

Maurice then grabbed onto his head and felt his body begin to change he let out a yell in pain he grew in massive size by about seven inches his muscles were bulging. His feet turned into massive hooves ripping his boots. He then felt two large horns protruding through his head after the transformation was complete he let out a massive roar causing the trio to cover their ears.

"What a monster Carla said"

"Guess you are what you eat" Zodie added

"I'll have you all in my belly"

He then charged at them on all fours Zodie sprouted his wings flew straight toward Maurice he moved to the right of him dodging his grasp and grabbed the behemoth by the back. Zodie then lifted Maurice up from the back flying them both upstairs and through the roof ensuing an aerial battle Maurice managed to elbow Zodie in his face causing the phoenix child to let go and plummet to the ground not without the behemoth grabbing him by the shoulders and shoving his face down. Maurice threw a couple of punches at Zodie while the child did his best to block them then Zodie unleashed a counter right hook across Maurices jaw. The exchange of blows continued until the two opponents came crashing thorugh the roof back into the kitchen.

After the smoke from the rubble clrared Wendy and Carla could see Maurice on top of Zodie holding him down.

"Once I devour you your friends are next" he said

Maurice was to big and heavy to push him off and his teeth were getting to close he needed a plan and quick, suddenly an idea flashed in his mind he reached into his pocket took out three items and shoved them into Maurice's mouth. After seconds Maurice began to feel a fiery sensation in his mouth it was so hot he got off Zodie and yelled out in pain.

Wendy saw this and realized this was the perfect moment to strike

"I have to help him" Wendy said

Carla looked around the room then noticed a lever she guessed was a switch to open the cages without hesitation the feline lunged toward the switch and tried to pull it down, but her kitty arms were not strong enough.

"Wendy help me I have an idea but ill need your help:

Wendy hurried over to help Carla thanks to their combined strength the managed to move the lever down unlocking the cages releasing all the creatures. Normally any free animal would run for freedom but these critters had a score to settle with Maurice. The animals crawled all over Maurices body biting and scratching at him no matter how strong he looked he was too overwhelmed by their numbers and the fiery sensation in his mouth.

After seconds of struggling Maurice was then pushed into a large oven and then locked inside by one of the creatures. The monster man banged on the oven door trying to be let out. He hollered in pain and pleaded but unfortunately the heat from his mouth and the heat in the oven was building up and was getting ready to blow.

"It's gonna blow both of you out now" Carla yelled

Zodie grabbed both his friends, sprouted his wings and flew them to safety while the animals ran out of the house to evade the they made it out the entire house was blown sky high with pieces of lumber flying everywhere even Maurice was blown far away. Zodie got himself and his friends at a safe distance and landed on the ground.

"That was crazy Zodie what did you do that guy"? Wendy asked

The phoenix child tooka familiar looking fruit holding it up

"Pain peppers once you eat one you'll feel like dying" he said.

"Very impressive I'll admit I guess they came through in the end after all" Carla said.

"Oh yeah Carla sorry about the whole water thing"

"Don't worry yourself child you saved my life so we can call it even" Carla spoke dryly but as long as they were cool it didn't matter to Zodie.

He suddenly grabbed the feline into a hug which she was taken back by a little Wendy just watched on with a smile.

"Well this was a strange evening but i'm ready to head back to the guild" Wendy spoke

"Sounds good all that fighting worked up an appetite" Zodie spoke

"Of course it did" Wendy and Carla said in unison as the trio began to start back towards Cait shelter.

Someplace else

After being blown through the air Maurie finally landed into a large pond he submerged now reverted back into his human form with bruises and burn marks from the explosion covering his body. He noticed that all his hair was burned off from the explosion from looking at his reflection in the water, he let out a monstrous bellow of anger and made his way out of the water and disappeared into the woods: something tells me that this wouldn't be the last time the trio would see him.

Alright done chapter 18 is finished I hope you guys liked this like I said earlier it's a little early to do the oracion seis arc so I'm doing some fillers.
