Foxy opened his eyes and looked around the room without moving to see that he was the only one in the bedroom. A red haze followed everywhere he looked, shining dimly from his left eye. That was when he remembered what happened. In a swift motion, he covered the eye preventing anything from looking out of it and sat up looking around for the clock.
"8:17 AM..." He said as he got up from the bed and went to step outside.
He stopped at the door and uncovered his eye looking around in curiosity. His vision through his left eye was twisted and reddened, it boggled his mind as he stared through it but understood what he was seeing at the same time. The view made him have a sense that something else was present around him. In him. He didn't understand what he felt; it was familiar, yet, foreign. That's when something hit him, he was seeing through the hell-fox. It was familiar, the hell-fox was the embodiment of his fear and anger. But the foreign part was something else, something that wasn't him. As he stared, he noticed that the floors were cracked and unkempt. The walls were covered in dirt and grime with the occasional stain splattered across it like a painter's canvas. The wardrobe was broken and splintered, clothes were scattered around as if a bomb had gone off inside it. The desk had collapsed on itself and the chair that sat under it. Their bed was mildewed and rotten like someone threw it in a pond for a few days and pulled it back out.
"Now you're seeing things from my point of view," The hell-fox said to him in his head.
"Did you attack her," Foxy asked coldly as he stood stiff holding the doorknob.
"No, that wasn't me," It replied.
Foxy stood stiff contemplating whether to trust it or not. Even if it tried, it is him. It couldn't be able to attack her, could it?
"I'll trust you, but I'm blocking your sight," Foxy sighed.
As he walked over to the wardrobe the vision in his left eye went black and then came back showing that the piece of furniture was no longer broken anymore. The red haze still covered everything, but he could see everything was perfectly fine. He opened the wardrobe and grabbed a black bandanna, he wrapped it tightly around his head covering the eye and tied it around the back leaving enough room for his ears to pop out and his right eye to see. It provided enough pressure on his left eye for him to keep it shut and comfortable at the same time so he took a few minutes to adjust and get accustomed to the feeling before leaving the room. As the red vulpine exited, he heard the others talking in the other room which shocked him a bit seeing as it was still somewhat early in the morning and it was Sunday. He walked out of the cove and surprised everyone a bit as they saw him.
"There you are," Freddy shouted from the table with a chuckle. "What's up with the bandanna?"
"Just covering that eye from now on," Foxy replied as he slowly walked around the table to sit down.
Everyone was sitting at the table in pretty much the same spots, except instead of playing cards they were watching a random show on the TV. He sat down beside Vixey and looked at her as she simply stared at him.
"Are you okay," He asked her as she continued staring, staring at a particular part of his face and he knew what it was.
"What happened to it," She asked him softly raising her hand to the left side of his face and rubbing across the bandanna lightly.
"I don't know," He said grabbing her hand and pulling it down. "I'm afraid to let it see anything."
She stared at him with a confused look as he said that.
"What does 'it' mean," She questioned him.
"I'm not sure," He answered with a sigh still holding her hand.
"Well, at least you're a pirate. We can put an eye patch on you," Vixey replied with a slight giggle.
"I guess you're right," He said with a chuckle as he wrapped his arm around her and started watching TV with the others.
He would occasionally scratch around his eye and under the bandanna as he was still getting accustomed too it, once he contemplated whether he should just pull it off but fought against the urge.
"One more week," He heard the white vulpine say that was snuggled against his side, under his arm.
"One more week," He remarked rubbing her upper arm softly as he scratched around the bandanna once more.
"We should probably go find you that eye patch, huh," Vixey asked with a slight grin as the red vulpine nodded his head, getting up from the table.
He helped her up and they proceeded walking down to parts and service for the spare items that were in his box. On the way down they looked at the posters that lined the fairly clean walls, there was one that they hadn't noticed before that wasn't even a poster. It was a small frame holding a picture of what seemed like the employees that worked there.
"That's cool," Foxy said with a chuckle as he pulled it down from the wall carefully.
There were about 10 workers, one was Mike who was on the far right with a bedhead obviously sleep deprived with a few they hadn't met but recognized lined up beside him or crouched in front of them. Lorenzo was at the front with a "rock-and-roll" hand gesture as the picture was taken.
"Looks about right," Vixey giggled as she stared at it beside the red vulpine who towered above her in comparison.
She looked up at him for a second before she spoke again.
"And to think that Bonnie is taller than you," She said with a hint of amazement in her voice.
"To think any animatronic is supposed to be this tall is insane," He replied as he hung the picture back up on the wall.
"For kids at that," She added as she started walking down the hall again.
He stepped away from the wall and continued to follow her soon reaching parts and service and opening the door. He turned to the side and cut on the light in the room, it flickered a bit and a slight hum was heard from the bulb as it illuminated the room.
"Guess it's going out soon," Foxy said as he stepped over to the boxes and started looking through them.
"I think this is it," Vixey said from behind him picking up a box labeled with his name from the small table in the room.
"I wonder how more obvious it could have been," Foxy said with a grunt as he stood straight up and walked over, a creek was heard from his joints as he walked over.
"I guess you're just starting to fall apart," Vixey taunted with a slight grin.
"I wish I would stop," He said pulling the box towards him and looking through it finding an eye patch after a few minutes.
She dragged her hand up and down his back again. She pulled up his shirt partially causing him to jump as he replaced the bandanna with the eye patch.
"What are you doing," He asked looking over his shoulder at her.
"Part of your fur is missing," She said running her hand over his bare 'skin' that was made from a latex-like plastic material with elasticity on par with human flesh.
"I really wish I knew who made us," Foxy remarked as he looked over his fur seeing that there were several thin patches of fur that reminded him of cuts along his arms and body. One ran across his arm very similar to one he gained by the nightmarish creatures from the void he fought.
"I wonder if we should look over those files again," She suggested letting his shirt drop over his back again.
"I wouldn't mind that," He said as he turned around letting her see the new addition to his attire.
"I think that fits you," She said rubbing his cheek.
"I wouldn't have thought otherwise," He chuckled as he began stepping towards the door and opening it.
He let her step out first and followed her out of the room. They walked through the main room, Foxy taking a second to show off his new little piece of eye-ware before they finished their trip to the employees' lounge once more.
"Okay, now, time to find that file again," Vixey huffed as she walked through the door.
"Go ahead and sit down. I'll grab it," He told her, noticing that she was looking a bit exhausted.
"Alright," She replied as he walked over to the cabinet and opened it, flipping through the files until he found the one going over the basics of animatronics and his file.
"Found them," He exclaimed slamming the cabinet shut as he sat down beside her.
"Finally," She teased him as she leaned on his shoulder to see them.
"Okay…" He trailed as he flipped through the pages to the files. "Ah, I think I found it."
"Animatronics are designed with 'nanobots' that are produced constantly in the body to patch up any damage sustained during service, however, maintenance is still required to check up on the animatronic's systems and computer systems to make sure that they are working properly. Maintenance may be required when a limb has been detached or a part has sustained damage that is rendered irreparable by the bots..."
"The more I learn, the more I feel like they were on acid when they made us," Foxy said aloud with a bit of shock in his voice as he finished.
"Seems a bit more than acid," Vixey added with a similar tone of shock.
"I guess we might as well read this one," He said opening his file.
"This Foxy the Pirate version is made with a prototype endoskeleton that was originally designed to withstand incredible force and sustain heavy damage against any blow, the cost of production limited it and eventually never hit the market for large-scale use. The animatronic was designed around the endoskeleton later in its life, the endoskeleton itself was assumed to have been made for security/law enforcement/military-esc purposes but never caught on with any of the companies that it was presented to. The animatronic is capable of producing and activating 'nanobots' quicker than other models due to special mounts on the endoskeleton that allowed for more storage inside it. The suit itself is made out of durable skin-like rubber. When torn; the bots begin moving into the tear and replicate the rubber using itself as a source for materials. The fur will be replicated soon after the tear is 'healed' completely."
"That was… Interesting to say the least," The red vulpine said as he finished reading.
"I guess there's no point in shaving off this fur then," Vixey giggled as she ran her hand along the fur on her arm.
"If you shaved it off I would be upset," He chuckled as he got up to place the files back.
"Why do you love my fur so much," She questioned him.
"Because it's a 'natural' pillow," He replied, shutting the cabinet drawer.
"Is that all you see me for, a pillow," She teased him as he walked over and sat down beside her.
"You know that's not all I see you for," He said before he wrapped his arm around her once again, pulling her towards him.
"Let's go and hang out with the others for a little while," She said getting up and walking towards the door again.
Foxy sighed as he stood up and followed her back into the main room. The others had all started sitting towards the end near the TV, but the Goldy and the Chicas were missing, Goldy most likely teleported off who knows where and the Chicas were probably in the kitchen working on something like usual. Something caught him off-guard though, he looked over at the arcade room seeing everything was normal. There was something off-putting, however, it felt like there was something distinctly different.
"I wonder," He thought to himself as he lifted the eye patch for a split second.
The red haze once again gleamed from his eye, shining upon the machines and counter that was filled with miscellaneous toys and prizes. When he turned a little he saw a figure, it was a reddened glitch like figure and it was staring at him. He felt the thing stare at him, but there was something -someone- else staring, another feeling crept upon him as he stood there, there was an emptiness that suddenly hit him. Everything was silent. He looked around seeing the others staring at him and he saw another figure behind the table, he hastily looked back at the original one seeing it was a masculine figure, he at the table once again seeing that it had a feminine figure.
"Foxy, are you okay," Freddy asked with a concerned voice from the table.
"There's… There's something behind you," He said slowly trying to comprehend what he was looking at.
"Did he hit his head on something in there," He overheard Bonnie ask from the table as he continued to stare at the figures through his left eye.
Instinct took control of him and he dove across the room at the masculine figure flying through it and slamming into the floor. It walked over and gripping onto his shoulder, he felt himself lose control and he watched himself get up. His body moved on its own towards them once again. He saw the redness shine brightly, like an LED that was powered by a nuclear reactor, shining brightly towards them. He walked towards Freddy and when the bear went to swing he leaned back and socked him in the jaw with his left hand as Freddy did to him before.
"Foxy, what the fuck," Bonnie yelled at him as he stepped back and looked at the purple rabbit who approached him.
He went to punch him in the gut and he resisted it just enough to where he didn't hurt the rabbit.
"Don't fight it," A familiar voice said to him through his head with a chuckle.
He pulled back and slammed into his friend's stomach once again, this time sending him to the floor. He hoped that Goldy would stop him but he wasn't there. He watched his body unwillingly attack his friends and then it stopped when it heard a distinct whimper from behind them. It turned around slowly towards the arctic vixen who was covering her mouth watching him. His eye was shining brightly at her giving her a reddened tint. His body jumped up quickly and ran over to her grabbing her by the mouth and forcing her onto a table on her back. She screamed as he did and he felt his hook emerge from his risk and raise itself. It swung down towards her stomach and with all his might he stopped it with and threw himself back, slamming into the floor, and constraining the figure possessing him. He watched as error messages appeared in his view stating that he was overheating or extremely strained. He felt everything begin shutting down as he held himself in a fetal position on the ground fighting the thing with all his strength, though, he noticed that something was helping him as he did. A smile grew on his face at the thought of it, but soon the black tendrils from the void flew throughout the room surrounding him and wrapping around him. Whatever attacked him was being controlled and he knew he didn't need to fight it anymore. He grunted with a sigh of relief as he felt the figure flood his senses and take control once again. His sight changed to an entirely red tint, however, it wasn't the hell-fox that was controlling him. He felt it trapped inside his mind with him. He closed his eyes as he laid there, wrapped in the constricting tendrils that concealed any attempt of his possessor to attack his friends and loved ones. Coldness surrounded him as he felt as if he was floating. The beaten fox opened his eyes in a black abyss that had a faint light gleaming through at him from above. He was surrounded by water as he floated, he felt a sense of security and hopefulness that he may be able to keep his wife and daughter alive. He felt himself sinking slowly as if something was gripping onto him and pulling him down with it. Guilt ran into his mind, overrunning his senses and filling him with dread as he tried to swim up. The harder he kicked the faster he sunk. The dark abyss was swallowing him whole as he did everything in his power to swim up. Soon he fell through what seemed like memories, the deserts and mountains of Afghanistan flew by him at what seemed Mach 10 speed. He watched every little thing that happened, from deployment to Claire with their daughter. He looked closer at them, he noticed that it wasn't just memories, they were something he's had a sense of guilt over. He watched as one of his friends got shot out of nowhere, he looked to the right and saw Claire and Kimberly making the snowman she told him about, and he shot over to the left again seeing something he didn't remember.
"Claire," He shouted as he watched her running through a warehouse.
The same man that started this was chasing her with a bloodied knife down an aisle of endoskeletons, she was halfway down before she tripped over a pipe and landed face-first into the concrete. The blonde man ran up from behind her and swung the knife down at her back. Foxy fell past it just as the blade connected and he instantly gritted his teeth at the sight. He felt cold air touch his back as it passed through the water and he landed onto the hard ground of the void once again. The red vulpine coughed up water and heaved as he barely held himself up off the ground on his knees and elbows.
"Finally, glad you could make it," The feminine voiced, shadowy figure said with a giggle as she kicked Foxy to his side.
He glared at her with the same energy he felt as before. He rolled to the side and got to his feet prepared to fight with her once again, just as he brought a hand up he heard someone teleport beside him and he dove to the side rolling back to his feet once again. He swung his hook from the side at the newly appeared figure and it blocked him with a blade, his hook chipped a bit of the blade as it connected with it earning a low growl from the masculine figure.
"Hello, Harper," It said coldly.
"Why so formal," He taunted it as he shoved it back with his shoulder and slammed into its gut winding it.
Foxy rolled backward to gain some distance between him and the figures as he stood with anger fueling him, his eye gleamed with the heat of hell itself as he stared at them.
