"So, what have I missed, exactly?"Katherine asked Elena as soon as Elijah left to answer Klaus' call.
"Not much."Elena said calmly and Katherine gave her a look that said; I know you're lying, so spill right now."I Triggered my Curse."Katherine grimaced."And Liah made me a Moonlight."Elena held up the ring on her finger in question and Katherine's eyes zoned in on it."It's like a Daylight Ring, only it allows me to turn into a Werewolf at will."Elena explained and Katherine looked surprised."And it does work because I used it during the Full Moon, a few nights ago, and I didn't turn when I should have and when I wanted to turn, I did."
"Why did you want to turn?"Katherine asked in confusion.
"Elijah and I abducted Emily and he left her in the caves with Rebekah and I, then at some point, Kol got Daggered and because we're all linked, it affected Elijah, Rebekah, and Finn, which put them down for a few minutes."Elena explained."Klaus and I however weren't affected, we just felt the effects of the Dagger."Katherine frowned, her eyes darkening in rage."So Emily ran and I was overcome by rage and turned into my Werewolf form, chasing her through the caves, and soon, Rebekah was up and we both chased her and threatened to light her up on fire when Rebekah couldn't get into one part of the cave."
Katherine couldn't help but laugh at this."She must have been so terrified!"
"She was. I could smell her fear."Elena said, smiling softly.
"So, I'm guessing she's still alive."Elena nodded and Katherine huffed mock disappointment."And what's that little thing doing on your wedding ring finger?"Katherine questioned Elena, hoping that ring wasn't what she thought it was.
Elena glanced down at said ring then looked back up at Katherine."Elijah and I are engaged."Elena said, nearly so fast that Katherine didn't catch it, and her face became completely blank, scaring Elena.
"Excuse me for one minute, Zornitsa. I have to go have a chat with our favourite Original in a suit."Elena groaned in displeasure as Katherine got up from her chair and left the living room.
"Katherine!"Elena whined but didn't get up to follow after the five hundred year old Vampire.
"Do you love her?"Katherine questioned Elijah, who had just gotten off the phone with Klaus, the moment she stepped into the bedroom, and shut the door, and looked at the Original with narrowed eyes.
"I do."Elijah answered calmly."With all of my heart."
"Then you'll choose her over Klaus."Katherine said seriously as she crossed her arms and Elijah raised an eyebrow at him."You will stand by her side, you will take her side, and you will never, ever leave her for Klaus. Hell, you'll even protect her from Klaus, from his wrath, from everything he did to me."Katherine's eyes narrowed."Because if you don't, then I will, and I will take her away from you, Elijah, and I'm not afraid to do it because I will do it in a heartbeat."Elijah stared at her silently as she looked back at him coldly.
"I understand."Elijah finally said."I will always protect her, even from my Brother."
"Good. You have my blessing, Elijah."A slow and small smile creeped up onto Elijah's face and he watched the five hundred year old Vampire Doppelganger walk out of the bed room with amusement shining in his eyes.
"If I didn't know any better, I would have thought that Katerina was being a parental figure."Elijah, with his eyes closed, mumbled against Elena's shoulder later that night when they were lying in their bed.
"She kinda has been the parental figure, and Sister figure, in my life."Elena mumbled back as she traced imaginary images on the arm that was wrapped around her waist."Do I wanna know what she had to say?"
"Not likely."Elijah said, kissing her shoulder."Sister figure?"Elijah asked questionably and Elena blushed.
"She asked if I was still a virgin and then teased me about it."Elena said softly, almost so softly that Elijah almost didn't catch it.
"Ah."Was all Elijah said, feeling how tense Elena was and opened his eyes."Do want to..."Elijah trailed off questionably.
"Here? In a Hotel?"Elena asked, sounding outraged."Seriously?"Elena exclaimed, turning around in Elijah's arms to glare at him."I would rather have sex with you in Klaus' bed just to piss him off, not in a Hotel!"Elena hissed."At least that would be more memorial."She added in a snarky tone.
"My apologies, Lovely. I didn't mean to upset you."Elijah said, tightening his grip slightly, in case Elena suddenly decided to get up and leave the bed to take the couch in the living room."Speaking Niklaus, he wants us to return to Mystic Falls."Elena raised an eyebrow at the change of subject but didn't call him out on it."He says he and Aaliyah may have just found the Spell to Unlink us all."Elijah explained.
"Great."Elena chirped happily before groaning."We're leaving right in morning, aren't we?"Elena stated questionably and Elijah nodded."I was hoping to spend some more time with Katherine."Elena muttered.
"We'll come back."
"Katherine might have left by then."
"Katerina said she likes this town and is gonna stay for a bit longer."
"She actually told you that?"
"Yes."
"Huh, she actually trusts you."
"If she even thought of lying to me, I wouldn't have hesitated to break her neck and wait for the Vervain to leave her system to compel her to stay."
"Just for me?"Elena asked, eyes wide.
"Just for you."Elijah said honestly and kissed her on the nose.
"You're sweet, in a scary way."Elena whispered, giggling at the look on Elijah's face.
"Go to sleep."Elijah grumbled, closing his eyes.
"Yes Sir."Elena said, closing her eyes and snuggled her face against Elijah's chest and her smile widened when she felt Elijah looking down at her intensely.
"If I wasn't an Immortal, I just know you'd be the death of me."Elijah mumbled as he rested his chin on top of Elena's head.
The next day, after saying goodbye to Katherine, Elena and Elijah returned to Mystic Falls within three hours, rather than the normal six hour drive that it normally takes."Niklaus."Elijah said the moment they entered the Mansion, only Klaus wasn't there to greet them."Odd."
"Rebekah?"Elena called out questionably but Rebekah didn't appear.
"They're not here."They both looked up to see a redhead standing at the top of the stairs."They've gone to find Finn and your Mother."She said, walking downstairs."And Aaliyah's gone to go see Kol.
"Sage."Elijah said, his face blank but his eyes and his voice was filled with displeasure.
"Elijah."Sage greeted him coolly before turning to Elena."And this must be your latest Doppelganger Lover."
"I never loved Katerina."Elijah said sharply while Elena glared at the female Vampire.
"But you did love Tatia."Sage retorted knowingly and Elijah rolled his eyes.
"Must you always create some sort of conflict, Sage?"Came Liah's voice from behind Elijah and Elena and the trio turned to face her.
"Liah!"Elena exclaimed, running over to the hazel green eyed Witchpire and hugged her, which the Witchpire returned.
"You and your Siblings always created trouble for Finn and I, so it's only fair that I do the same."Sage bit out as Elena and Liah released each other."Besides, I thought Elijah would have learned his lesson by now."
"If I were you, I'd shut my mouth, you tart."Liah snarled, glaring darkly at Sage.
"Or what? You'll kill me?"Sage questioned Liah, smirking."Sorry to say, but last I heard, you need me alive if you want to live."
"Maybe I can't rip your heart out, but that doesn't mean I can't snap your neck or your spine."A wicked smirk appeared on Liah's face.
Before Sage could do anything, Liah flicked her wrists and Sage crumbled to the ground with a sickening snap of not only her neck but her spine as well. Elijah sighed and gave Liah an admonished look, which she ignored in favour of grabbing Sage by the hair and dragged her back up stairs.
"Who was that?"Elena finally asked, looking back at Elijah questionably.
"Finn's Lover."Elijah said sourly."We never approved of her or their relationship."Elijah answered."We tried to steer Finn away from her, but he ignored us and our warnings and he ended up turning her in the early 1100's."Elena's eyes widened in shock and surprise."Then when we were first Daggered in the 1114 century, Niklaus decided to leave Finn Daggered, not only because of Sage though, but because of his attitude towards Niklaus."
"Huh, remind me never get to Klaus' bad side."Elena mumbled as they walked into the living room.
"I highly doubt you ever will."Elena looked at Elijah questionably as they sat down on the couch with Elena resting her head on Elijah's shoulder."Niklaus barely ever Daggers Rebekah and Aaliyah. Only when they misbehave, they get Daggered but never have they gotten on Niklaus' bad side, as you say."Elena pursed her lips but didn't argue.
"So, where did you two run off to? Not to get married without Klaus knowing, I hope."Liah said as she came into the room and sat down on the armchair.
"No."Elena said, smiling."I'm sure Klaus would be furious if we did that without his knowledge."Liah grinned."We went to see Katherine and got her help in finding the White Oak."
"How could Katherine help?"Liah asked, slightly confused.
"I needed another Petrova to the Spell in locating the White Oak, don't ask why."Elena stated."All you need to know is that we found the White Oak, so all's well that ends well."Liah pursed her lips and looked at Elijah, who just smiled back at her reassuringly. Before they could start up a new topic, they heard the sound of someone being thrown to the floor."That would be Nik and Rebekah with Finn."With that said, the trio got up and headed to the foyer to find Rebekah and Klaus blocking the exit while Finn was on the floor, eyeing the two blonde's warily.
"Gather your Witch."Rebekah commanded Klaus as she and him stepped threateningly towards Finn."Let's get his blood and get on with it."
"You can't force me to help you."Finn said softly.
"I most likely could..."Klaus trailed off.
"But you won't."Liah said, stepping towards them."We need him to give his blood willingly, Nik."Liah stated as she stood next to Klaus.
"You're right, so why force him when I can persuade?"Klaus said, still looking down at Finn before gesturing towards the stairs.
Finn looked towards the stairs, his eyes widening at seeing Sage."Hello, Finn."
"Sage."Finn breathed out. Sage smiled widely as she quickly walked down the stairs and Finn quickly got up, rushing over to her and embraced each other tightly.
"What do you know?"Rebekah turned to Klaus, who was texting Kol."True love prevails."
"Should Elijah and I be insulted, Rebekah?"Elena asked as she and Elijah stepped further into the room.
"Of course not."Rebekah said, smiling at Elena.
"It does occasionally have it's uses."Klaus said before looking up at them."Easier then torturing him."
"I have something to do."Rebekah said as Klaus put his phone away."What do you need from me for this Spell?"Rebekah questioned Klaus and Liah.
"Yes, Brother, Sister, what do you need from us?"Elijah asked.
"Just your blood and your blessing."Liah stated, looking between the trio in front of her and Klaus.
"Where are you going?"Klaus asked Rebekah.
Rebekah gave Klaus a dark smile."I have some unfinished business with Damon Salvatore."Rebekah's eyes darkened."Ask Sage what he did to me, then you'll understand why retribution is in order."Elijah's eyes narrowed, wondering what the Eldest Salvatore did to his Baby Sister, and Elena frowned while Liah raised an eyebrow curiously as Rebekah left.
"So, our blood and blessing, you say?"Elijah asked, looking back at Liah.
