Lessons In Love: Chapter Twenty-Three: Viva La Vida (Part 4)

They seriously drove from sun up, to sunset. It was exhausting, and Stephen stopped the car multiple times. He was seriously on a mission, and Tony was the only one that gave him shit for it.

Bucky and Steve remained in the backseat for the entire journey, but one thing occurred between two people in that car.

Tony and Steve avoided each other. Tony would stare outside his window to the right, and Steve would stare outside his window to the left.

What the hell happened? Bucky was very confused. He was bored to death in that car, and the driver personally didn't give a single shit.

Bucky was trying to figure Stephen Strange out. He had a terrible attitude, and he was only cordial with Tony. He had an interesting little back and forth with Steve's person of interest.

Bucky noted that. He declared the level of flirtation between them to be a little over a five. Yes, that was nosy. But he was looking out for Steve. The blonde returned from his random run, and he was mentally lost somewhere out in space.

Cupid had obviously bitten that one hard, so Bucky just kept to himself for most of the drive.

They arrived in a state called Nebraska, and the scenery around them became a bit more rural. They were off the long highway, because Stephen was heading home. He was very comfortable with the area as he drove, and Tony started asking him questions right off the bat.

Stephen didn't answer any of them. He just continuously told Tony to wait and see. He was playful with Tony, and the car eventually came to a stop. The area was pretty dark, but they all saw a beautiful house up ahead.

Lights were on in the house, and Stephen asked Tony to get in the backseat. The unruly brunette asked him WHY? But, Stephen ignored him, and he got out of the car.

Tony grumbled, and then he did as Stephen asked. He asked nicely, so... Tony got out and he hopped over to the good side of the backseat. Steve noticed the car door open, and he blinked several times into the open space.

Tony wanted to sit beside HIM, not Bucky. So he smiled and waited for Steve to let him in. That honey blonde face became red, and he unbuckled his seatbelt. Steve moved over and he immediately started moving his pant leg over one of his knees.

He was sitting in-between two feisty brunettes. Steve had to tug his collar away from his neck, as they all settled in.

Bucky kept watching Stephen. He was curious to know what was going on. The oldest person of the group approached the large house, and he saw the front door to the home open up.

Whoa WHUT? Tony saw something kinda crazy. He had to turn and look out the window that was close to Bucky. The three of them were squished together in that backseat, and Steve was trying not to die from all the contact.

If he was his smaller self, Steve was certain that he would have died from an asthma attack. He tried to distract himself with Stephen's behavior.

The blonde watched as two people walked out onto a beautiful porch. They were obviously Stephen's parents. Steve could tell immediately when he got a good look at his father.

"I'm here for Victor."

Stephen wanted to take his younger brother out of the house. His sister was dead, and he knew that his parents had lost their minds from the grief. It was not a good place for Victor to live.

Stephen wanted his brother, and he was not going to accept any sort of rejection.

The young man froze for a moment when he heard his father speak. His voice did something to his mind, and it made Stephen close his eyes. It felt like his father wasn't real to him anymore. All he heard and received was anger, and an obscure feeling of wrath.

Stephen took in a very slow breath, and he started saying something that he read in one of those books.

"Ma Hoggoth, hostaharula'i agraha gardachu."

He spoke the words quickly, and something happened that thoroughly shocked the three people in the backseat. Tony's hands started glowing, and they were quickly pulled forward.

Something was drawn out of his hands, and whatever it was went directly toward that house. WHOA WHOA WHOA. The shock value increased because that whole house lit up like it was Christmas. The glow disappeared, and Tony stared down at his hands.

Trippy.

Steve and Bucky's eyes couldn't open any farther. They just witnessed something, and felt an energy that seemed demonic. It freaked out the two broke boys from the 1930s.

One of them seriously said, jeepers.

The fun outside the car did not end. Stephen stepped closer toward the house, and he asked for his brother for the second time. His father and mother were affected by whatever Stephen did. The energy hit them as well, and something peculiar was going on.

"Sarvasaktimana Oshtur, usako dimagala'i badala garne mantra hata'unuhos."

WHAT THE EFFING EFF?! Stephen started saying some more of that voodoo gobbily goo, and then the center of Steve's chest began to glow.

They all freaked out in that backseat, because a blue energy was taken from Steve. It went straight over to the house, and Stephen's father was knocked back.

The man was forced to sit down, and he was unable to speak.

He was not hurt, and Stephen stood up straighter when he saw his younger brother walk out onto the porch. Victor Strange was fifteen years old, and he looked scared to death.

"Victor, I want you to get some things. We're leaving."

His parents would be fine. Stephen had a pretty clear idea about what he was doing, and he waited for his brother to react.

Ok, HOLD ON. Tony was practically glued to the window that was on Bucky's side of the car.

That meant he was pretty much laying all over Steve, and the blonde was very close to passing out.

Stephen had a baby brother? He looked so cute. Tony smiled as he looked out at the smaller version of the road trip nazi. Victor was wearing a Pink Floyd t-shirt and burgundy pants.

His style was similar to his older brother, and Tony thought that it was the cutest thing. Victor didn't want to bring anything with him. He no longer hesitated where he stood, and he started running over to Stephen.

He ran right into his brother and the two of them stood in the driveway for what felt like a long time. Victor was crying against his shirt, and his parents were still numb from the incantations that Stephen invoked.

They were not injured. He cast away something that was haunting them, and then he cast out something to protect them. Stephen was performing spells that he was supposed to learn far off in his future.

None of that really mattered. His youngest sibling continued to cry against his shirt, and Stephen encouraged him to head to the car.

He did not want to see his little brother cry anymore, and he wanted his family to heal from what had happened.
