Avengers Elseworlds Chapter 24

Kara used her ice breath on the cell as it opened. Alex pressed a button to cause Kara extraordinary agony.

"ALEX. STOP. PLEASE ?"

"He warned you"

"Promise not to try to escape again"

Kara then spoke in a language that Alex recognized causing her to stop hurting Kara

"How do you know that?"

"Alex Danvers taught it to me. I told you I'm not from this earth. The Alex from my earth spent a summer in Naganur with Jeremiah and Eliza when she was six. She was homesick and a girl from the village helped her sneak down to one of the temples one night. She wrote a note and she put in one of the cracks in the wall hoping it would come true" Kara explained.

"I was seven. Not six. And that little girl from the village, she taught me that rhyme, it means.."

"Pinkie swear" they both said

"My Alex taught it to me the first night we snuck out to go flying. No my Alex was always drawn to service. It's not surprising that you cared deeply so deeply about this world and all the people in it. But on my earth, Alex doesn't just have a job, she's in charge of a place like this"

"She's in charge?" asked Alex

"She's a leader who's just and proud and when someone tells her to do something she knows is wrong, she gives them hell and she does what's right. She doesn't have powers like I do but she's a hero. She's got the biggest heart out of everyone I know even though she doesn't always like to show it. She has good friends, the real family of support she's created for herself and she doesn't hide who she is. She wants a wife and kids. She's optimistic that she can have it all. It's not an if. It's a when" Kara explained

"She sounds pretty awesome" added Alex

"She is. Now I know I'm not your sister on this planet. Guess my pod didn't land here but you're still that person. I can tell. I know it. Superman rewrote this reality to make us all his prisoners, I think you're smart enough to see through him" Kara added

"If I ever let you out of that cell, you'd what? Stop him?" asked Alex

"Pinky swear" promised Kara.

Alex then frees Kara and gets her out of there. They ran down the hall only to be met with Deegan, Frost and Diggle.

"Well, well, well. A traitor in our midst"

"You know when I said you should get out there and start dating Danvers, this isn't quite what I had in mind" said Frost.

"I warned you"

"No I tricked her into opening my cell, we don't know each other" Kara said

"Yes we do. She's my sister" said Alex

"Well you can burn together" said Deegan as his eyes lit up with heat vision.

However all of a sudden, a sling ring portal opens as the others arrive just in time.

"Hi. Nice suit" said Clark staring at his doppelganger.

"Doctor, can I have a word please?" Clark asked.

The two Supermen then flew up in the air as they did battle.

"I'm gonna go help Clark" said Carol.

"Are you sure you can handle a Kryptonian?" asked Kara.

"Don't worry. Your cousin's got Captain Marvel by his side. *winks*"

Carol glows and powers up flying after the two.

Diggle and Frost then attacked as Spider-Man webbed them up, Oliver going after Diggle as Frost went after him. The three went into the elevator as Natasha jumps to help Oliver as the doors close.

"Go get that book, I'll hanfle those two" Natasha ordered.

"Alex your here. What are you doing" Barry began as he wad then grabbed by Alex.

"WOAH WOAH WOAH HOLD ON!" said Spider-Man as he web yanked her off him.

"No no no it's okay. He's actually a good guy" Kara said.

"No I'm good" added Barry.

"I'm sorry"

"Look you seem to know this place, where does Superman keep the book?" asked Strange.

"Everything of importance to him he keeps in the Fortess of Solitude" Alex explained

"Did we not just came from there?" asked T'Challa

"Right?" Barry adds as Alex leads them to the book of Destiny.

Meanwhile, Clark and Deegan flew throughout Central City fighting it out.

Clark hits Deegan with a punch sending him flying towards a news chopper. Deegan grabs and it swings it back at Clark.

"Mayday! Mayday! Mayday! We're going down!" said the pilot as his chopper was about to crash.

Clark sees the news copter in the verge of crashing but he then sees a flying glow heading towards the copter as it saves him.

"I got him Superman!" Said Carol as she lands the chopper on a helipad.

Deegan then charges at Clark as Captain Marvel was in hot pursuit.

Clark and Deegan get sent through an office building as they tumbled, crashing and breaking everything in their path.

An office woman sees the two as cries out,

"Bizzaro!"

Deegan then grabs and drags Clark by his cape to a nearby window. He lifts him up by his neck.

"How does it feel to be the villian for once?" Deegan tosses Clark out the window sending him flying backwards.

"The only villian I see here... Is you!" Carol said as she flies in with a photon powered punch.

"Say hello to Captain Marvel" she said cracking her knuckles and tackles him out.

Alex opens up the door to Deegan Fortress of Solitude as she sees the book.

"This isn't the fortress of anything. This is the time vault" said Barry.

"But there's the book alright" said Strange.

"and it's unlocked" added Kara.

"Okay so how does one go about rewriting reality?" Barry asked.

"You heard what Clark said.. Sheer will" answered T'Challa.

Kara then grabs and opens up the Book of Destiny as the contents of it was too much for her as she closes it back up.

"You must be still weak from the pipeline" said Alex

"You okay?" Barry asked.

"I don't know how Deegan did this?" Kara adds.

"Well can I suggest whatever it is you need to find, we do it far away from here?" asked Kara.

"I'll do it" Bruce said stepping in

"Bruce no, the last time you did something like this with a lot of power it nearly killed you" said Kara

"I've survived worse to save the world"

"That worse, is what nearly killed you" Barry adds

"Then I'll do it. I was made for this. My powers can probably help me use the book" sugessted Wanda

"And what if it doesn't work Wanda?" asked Strange

"Then maybe Clark can use it come on!" said Barry as he and the others went outside.

Meanwhile, Deegan tosses Superman to the ground crashing as he lands. Carol flies in with a dive kick to Deegan. She hits a right cross and Deegan counters with a grab of her hand. As Deegan smiles he goes for a punch with his other hand, Carol stop it with her other hand as the two were locked in.

Deegan his Carol with a headbutt. To his shock it didn't do much damage. She then glows and powers up and hits him with a headbutt of her own.

Deegan on the ground as Carol walks up to him.

"Give it up you phony. It's over!"

Deegan then hits her with a clap leaving Carol dazed and stunned. He winds up a punch that sets her flying upward. He zooms and gives a clubbing blow back down as he grabs her by the neck along with Clark.

"Superman!"

Kara hits Deegan with a blast of heat vision as the others with Wanda holding the book arrived.

"Clark, we got the book!"

"Wanda are you ready?" she asks her

"I am" Wanda replied

Wanda then opened up the book as it's power poured out. The Book of Destiny began to change bakd Central City to normal as Kara has her suit on as Barry has both his suit and powers back. He then sees the elevator door open as Frost and Diggle fall with Oliver in his suit and bow in hand Natasha.

Barry then zooms out as he sees Wanda still using the book.

"She's doing it!" Barry said

However Deegan then drops in with Barry in a chokehold from behind.

Kara fired her heatvison as Deegan fired back with his. However Kara still weakened form being in the pipeline causes her to drop to her knees.

"Make her close or I'll snap his neck!" Deegan demanded

"NO!" shouted Oliver with Natasha by his side.

"Then your friend dies!"

"Not of I kill you first!" Oliver said aiming a Kryptonite arrow.
